That may work on new chucky players but after just 3 to 5 games you pretty much know how to dash around corners or doing a little hug tech.

Its like saying just juke a blight. Yeaht thats possible but not that easy to pull of if someone knows how to avoid getting juked

You can also juke blight lol, neither of them are Nurse they still have to respect solid objects existing.

She has a chase power. She's also arguably the best m1 killer in the game. If you dig that, you dig the pig.

*Laughs in Skull Merchant, Knight, Singularity, Dredge and Pinhead*

  • Just juke him? Most Chucky's I've played against can't curve well at all so once you realize that you just have to never run in a straight line and he hasn't been that bad for me.

  • Real talk if you play killer and Distortion lives in your head rent free cuz you need something to blame on your losses just run Gearhead it unironically chews through Distortion stacks extremely fast.

  • Sorry, Pig is very weird where playing her feels like you have no chase power to me which is frustrating but against her the traps are a massive headache in soloQ because people will just pop gens and trigger your trap without thinking so it's frustrating on both ends.

No. Do you remember Eruption? 100% of killers using this perk weren’t excessively defending a 3 gen. And survivors could still win the game even if a killer was using Eruption, and killers didn’t need Eruption to hold a 3 gen. But Eruption was considered to be encouraging and enabling excessive 3 gen defense way more than it should, so it got nerfed.

Distortion is the exact same scenario. Not everyone that uses Distortion is excessively hiding, but survivors using this perk to excessively hide is a problem, so the perk should be nerfed.

Distortion has nowhere near the same pick rate as old Eruption and is nowhere near as strong.

    Horrible false equivalency.

  • This is an amalgamation of both to play as and against and I forgot onryo but she's dumpster tier.

I never said that 100% of Distortion users are hiding in corners the entire game.

And how is the killer supposed to just “walk over to” a survivor that is excessively hiding, when they aren’t anywhere near any uncompleted generators when the killer is patrolling them? It’s like asking killers to search literally every object in the map. Excessively hiding survivors aren’t the type of people that just stay on generators. And they’re a big part of the 3 gen problem. If survivors need to split up to repair the final generator, but some of the survivors refuse to repair because they’re too busy hiding, then the game can last an extremely long time, because these survivors would rather have a 30+ minute game, than risk being found at a generator.

So now it feels like we're complaining about an archetype of survivor player rather than a perk so then the problem is bad survivors and not distortion which I would agree so cool?

No. That's not what happens what survivors excessively hide.

What often happens is two survivors are sacrificed, and the killer still hasn't ever seen the distortion survivor the entire game. Sometimes, three survivors are sacrificed, the Distortion survivor finds hatch, and the killer literally never saw the Distortion survivor the entire game.

Unless someone is playing a specific killer, or is using very specific perks, they are extremely unlikely to find these survivors at generators, as those survivors are likely to pre leave the generator at the first sign of a visual terror radius, and stay away until the visual terror radius goes away. And they use Distortion to figure out how careful to be. For example, if Distortion shows them that Nowhere To Hide is in the game, they'll make sure to either run to a locker, or to run out of that perk's radius, when they pre-leave generators. And if Distortion shows BBQ, they'll be sure to run into a locker whenever the killer is carrying someone.

The part people don't seem to understand, is these survivors are just burning through their tokens, and instead when a token gets burnt, they make sure it doesn't get burnt again.

This feels like your source is you made it tf up. You don't all of a sudden become physically invisible if you use distortion the killer can still find you if they walk over to you lol.

Like Distortion doesn't make people prerun super quickly and it also isn't doing anything in those situations if the killer isn't using nowhere to hide. It feels like a perk that's perfectly fine is being blamed for certain people's behavior when the crouched in a corner blendette has been a thing basically since game launch way before Distortion was a thing and I will again reiterate nobody cared when they were using iron will back then because basically everyone used iron will back then.

The difference here is not everyone uses Distortion because it's a weaker perk than old iron will and potentially does nothing all game so not everyone wants to run it but that's the choice. People not running Distortion are gambling that whatever they do bring is more useful and Distortion users are gambling the killers have aura reading or else they're wasting a perk slot. But this idea that all Distortion users are hiding in corners all game is pure fantasy.

  • Also can we stop pretending Distortion doesn't sometimes do absolutely nothing in some games? Like it's not at all uncommon for a killer to run something like Corrupt/Pop/Pain Res and then either Bamboozle or Deadlock or perhaps Surge. For the people acting like Distortion is the current bane of soloQ please tell me what Distortion is actually doing in those situations.

Killers weren't breaking the rules when they facecamped, but that still got nerfed anyway. It doesn't matter whether or not something is overpowered or un-counterable. What matters is how unfun Distortion can be for both sides of the game.

How can BHVR say they "want solo q to feel like more of a team", and then have perks like Distortion that encourage survivors to be the exact opposite of a team player? "Bridging the gap between solo q and SWF" really should mean "BHVR makes changes to the game to encourage solo q survivors to actually work together as a team".

Distortion literally does not do that though? All Distortion does in most cases is buy you time before the killer figures out what gen you're on, it also occurs to me nobody was saying this about Iron Will before it got nerfed and everybody was fine running it so I don't think people actually have a problem with stealth as much as they're pretending to at the moment. This really does just feel like grasping at straws because the DBD community doesn't know what it'd do with itself if it didn't have anything to complain about.

  • Surge is the most mid gen regression perk that exists and is extremely map dependent and mindbreaker is honestly a survivor perk if they're running sprint burst, I'd never run it.

I'd argue sloppy is a more powerful slowdown perk and is a free perk. Like if we're talking bottom of the barrel refuse to spend even $5 on another killer completely F2P you can still slap Sloppy/NOED/Nurses Calling/Tinkerer on Wraith and I don't think that'd be the worst build in the world.

  • I feel like this doesn't have anything to do with distortion and is just soloQ life.

Again for every distortion thread I see I have to ask where we're these complaints a year ago? Distortion isn't a problem, selfish soloQ players are but technically they're not breaking the rules. If you wanna make a build and play in a way where you only look out for yourself not only are you allowed but some perks like Self-preservation actively encourage playing in this way.

Honestly the only reason this isn't even more common in soloQ is I think most people kinda realize you need the other survivors to escape otherwise soloQ would just be a massive free for all.

  • All the gens on that map have restraining orders against each other.

I actually think the map is fine size wise and main building I think can be allowed to be strong since the rest of the map is pretty empty but gens tend to spawn way too far apart for any killer not named Blight or Nurse. Map is a nightmare to patrol on.

  • The "distortion is for players who hide and let their team die" characterization I keep seeing is extremely dumb.

It has many useful applications most often it's just so the killer doesn't know what gen you're working on but can also be paired with deliverance to make sure you're not found first by killers using lethal.

Distortion has been in it's current form for ever a year and nobody said a thing until MfT got nerfed. Killers are just running out of things to blame their losses on so now we're going after above average perks like Distortion smh.

  • So survivors were too strong in chase so they nerfed MfT

Gens were too fast so they nerfed Prove Thyself

Survivors were healing too effectually so they nerfed CoH

Now we're complaining about stealth perks

What exactly are survivors supposed to run? Like are people not gonna be happy until we're all running useless meme BS like scene partner and pebble?

  • I mean they're doing as much as they reasonably can.

You can't buff the average SoloQer's brain so there's always gonna be a disparity.

  • In what I'm sure is completely unrelated my tension during my killer games has gone way down.

  • I'm hoping the mention of huntress in the road map was a typo and what they actually meant is that all of her perks are getting reworked to yeah know.....actually do something.

  • I've barely ever used it since you need an entire build around it just to make it work and it doesn't seem that interesting to me.

I could imagine putting it on bubba with infectious fright and getting an easy snowball that way but I doubt it would be consistently good.

  • Are we though?

Having flashbacks to when the only time breakdown was used was because it was bugged and disabled hooks permanently

  • SpookyLoopz paid BHVR off clearly.

  • Are we really asking why survivors arn't wasting like 20 seconds to go get a brown toolbox or green key from a chest?

Like you wrote that and thought "yeah I'm cooking"?

I also really hate it when people try to do these 1:1 comparisons between roles cuz they're not at all similar, survivors legit have nothing to do but gens, they are literally incapable of tunneling their objective but if a killer decides to go after someone else and not tunnel they're still doing their objective. I don't think there's anything wrong with tunneling I just think it's dumb to act like the roles are analogous in the way some people suggest.

  • Because gens fly if you don't run these perks and with how DBD works the longer the game lasts the the more likely you are to 4k that's just how it goes so you can't really expect people not to run it.

The one exception is if you're going for an alt win con devour build and hoping you can get to 5 stacks before the gens get done and just snowball but like c'mon you're relying on a hex which is so bad these days with everyone knowing all the spawn points so good luck getting that to work with any kind of consistency.

  • Xeno not being able to enter tunnels at the start of the game is a joke when you have to fight turrets half the game just to keep your power in the first place.

Sadako TVs have a cool down cuz they can lead to an instakill but even without that she's still a stealth killer that ignores stuns and body blocking, Xeno needs her tunnels just to have any power at all so they're not really comparable.

  • They've been slowly shadowbuffing the zombies over time as they've gotten better at programming AI.

They're still not great but better than they used to be but as for something more dramatic I don't think there's much they can do seeing as it'd probably turn into another knight situation and people would probably just complain about AI killer assistance.

I'd be all for them giving Nemesis way more buffs though like atp just give Nemmy killer instinct when a zombie detects a survivor so he can go take advantage of it. I know the zombies have their arms up already when that happens but that extremely unreliable information.

  • Nurse, Blight, Wesker.

Mostly all for similar reasons of the people who play them tend to be incredibly sweaty. If I had to pick one to I hate most it's probably Blight. Like did you really need c33, alch ring and Ultimate Weapon when you're already the 2nd strongest killer base kit?

Loading into a game feels like a waste of time when the killer has that type of massive overkill load out.

  • I would say it's 50/50 whether someone gives up in my SM games which is funny cuz she's plenty counterable people are just too lazy to do it. It's really just a matter of hacking drones and holding W, not like people weren't already doing that against Artist.

I mostly play her when I want a break from Singularity/Xeno, having a killer in my rotation that doesn't need much mechanical skill helps me not get burnt out I find. It's not even about wanting easy wins that isn't the point I just like having a killer I can just turn my brain off and relax with even if I don't win in between games constantly managing EMPs or flame turrets.

I imagine it's the same reason so many survivors like MfT, sometimes you just wanna brute force chases with pure speed advantage.

  • You can crouch walk and the drones won't detect you, you can put the drones at gens and if they're careless you'll catch them but if they're playing smart they'll be on the gen and you'll never know.

The drones are much more powerful at loops and high traffic areas so it's not tha she can't 3 gen she's just worse at it and there's much more powerful things you could be doing with her now.

  • I'd personally love it it would be a niche perks for some killers and I love those kinds of perks that need the right killer to really see their potential.

  • I play for kills, I already have all the perks so I don't really get anything out of BP except prestige levels which I don't care about really. It's also better to not play with kid gloves cuz it lets MMR do it's job.

And you took out the obsession, which is not good when you're running Save the Best for Last...

I was aware but the team was so bad I realized I didn't need it.

  • It was at 4 gens and the kept unhooking two seconds after I started walking away, it was a head on squad that weren't able to really get it to work.

.....can i ask WHY tools is one of the best chapters in dbd?

-Shelter Woods got a fantastic rework.

-The Lyra twins are welcome new survivors and I can see them getting great cosmetics in the future.

-The perks are mostly a miss here but Blood Rush is interesting and Game Afoot might do something in the future it's just waiting for the right killer or perk to combo it with.

-Skull Merchant was interesting before albeit problematic but now she's basically a trap killer but focused on chase rather than gen control area denial and it's a ton of fun and very unique.

  • I don't see a video but I agree it's an extremely flawed solution that doesn't really work, it was basically made with basement bubbas in mind and nobody else.

  • Tools of Torment (9/10)

    End Transmission (7/10)

    Nicholas Cage (9/10)

    Alien (8/10)

    Chucky (6/10)

  • Hooked on You Beach map when?

  • Executioner for sure.

Hillbilly would probably be fine if they never touched the add ones.

  • I did not have a complain about release legion on my 2023 DBD forums bingo card, well done.

  • She has the same counterplay as Hag, disabling the traps and crouch walking. But people suck against hag so I shouldn't be surprised they suck against new SM either

  • Werewolf, BHVR can't avoid it forever.

  • It's competing with every other yellow add-on plus every yellow BP offering plus the yellow coin PLUS yellow mist. It's not that it's actually super rare it's just competing with a ton of other yellow offerings when the webs get generated and it's very noticeable with wire spool because it's far and away the best yellow survivors get.

  • Fun killer and a welcome break from the constant brain dead "go fast" killers we always get.

  • I haven't seen that but I also mostly stay of social media because they're cesspools.

Personally I'm very neutral towards them, not my type of killer but the counter play is there (it feels very similar to blight or wesker tbh which yeah explains why I'm not fond of them) and they're very fitting as the holiday chapter. But considering I've loved every killer they released from Knight to Xeno who were all mostly unpopular I'll let the people who love movement killers have Chucky it's fine.

  • Instead of buffing ruin I'd rather them bring back old undying, I don't think it would be as bad if ruin is mediocre and seeing some undying/pentimento builds would diversify the meta a bit.

DS back to 5 seconds is probably fine atp and would probably be the final nail in the coffin for tunneling which would only be a good thing.

we gotta be precautious here, everyone told mft was going to be an issue yet it went live untouched and was kept that way for 5 MONTHS.

You're right we need to warn everyone about ??? I hate the way it let survivors ???????? and ????????? is awful and it lets them combo with ?????? which is really unfair.

I can't believe the devs let ????? potentially go live maybe with how it was in some ptb presumably in the future. Playing killer is impossible in the future as long as ?????? is around!

  • For The People wasn't bad before it was actually quite decent, it just had a lot of risk, someone is a lot less likely to save a teammate if it might result in them going down instead as opposed to what we have now where you can do it for free with very little risk.

It's low usage before had more to do with people not really caring about randoms than anything regarding it's power level, even in the worst case forcing the pick up on you if you're on zero or one hooks and someone is on death hook is still quite strong in terms of keeping your team in the game.

  • The forums have reached their ultimate evolution, complain about nondescript things that don't exist yet.
