I was responding to a person who wanted to ban people for "forms of throwing" that also just so happen to be things that bad or new players do.
Oh right. Dumb idea. 6ish years on the game and I still make terrible mistakes.

You can't punish people for being bad at the game lol
I mean, kinda? Isn't losing badly everytime a form of punishment in and of itself?
On the topic, I agree. Whenever you press the Ready button, you accept that things might not go your way, that you might be the first to die, or that you'll have a boring adversary. That's what you sign for.
You can't just take the good times and flee at the first sign of a grey cloud. Playing a game and ragequitting on the slightest inconvenience is frankly pathetic imo.
Which is why I'll argue that the DC penalty should be harsher.
-
That's neat
-
SWF and you have suddenly no power. That's what prevent any shapeshifting killer from existing.
-
Wait, there's comics? About my Legion peeps? Where? When? How much?
-
It's not funny, it's efficient. You get to do totems, potentially killing a NOED or DH before it gets to fly, it takes 8 seconds in a locker to get fully healed which is nothing, and you can get a total of 5 charges at best while training your map awareness about totem placement.

everything is "entitled" in this forum so yeah don't care, if you can't handle people leaving you can play with friends. Some games are lost right off the bat that's just how it is, questionable balance and they're not rewarding either in term of BP, I can see why suicide is so common
Bold of you to assume I have friends to play with.

I'm glad you see it from a similar point as me on the original main topic, I agree with what you said to this guy.
I also agree it's efficient for sure XD I think we may just have to disagree that it's not fun for the killer. I've no doubt there's plenty that are enjoying feeling like a god at the game for it. But we can't ALL agree on EVERYTHING, that's just the way this works.
Oh I know there's some people that find it thrilling. I personally don't, but that's me I guess.
Look I just don't like people giving up before the game even starts. Experience taught me that your first assumption can be wrong. It won't always be, but it can be. Just try and see how it goes is all I'm saying.

Entity forbid challenges are actually, y'know, challenging.

If you play a lot of solo Q you can tell many games are lost right off the bat, like typical wesker/blight main tunneling at 5 gens is a waste of time, these people never lose to a solo q team it's just not happening, might aswell die go next
That's an entitled excuse. If you think any game is lost before the game even starts, you're part of the problem.
Also OP, trust me on this, tunneling isn't fun for the Killer either. It's just efficient.
-
The more time passes, the more I feel like it's less about what I can't do, but what I can do as a Killer. And the list of things I'm able to do is ever reducing.

That's how DBD was when I started playing.
Perhaps I just got too used to it.

DbD was like that before and it was not problem. It helped matchmaking as well. Whenever you see you are losing, you were going to next game.
Just because you got used to eating dirt in the past doesn't mean eating rotten food "ain't that bad" nowadays

Meh

Adept.
That's literally it.

It's likely not an issue, the vast majority of players get no value from it. I wouldn't mind if the Endurance was gone though.
Unlike 3-genning Dull Merchants.
Agreed on the Endurance being a bit much. Also weirdly unrelated to the perk? Like if it was a healing perk I'd understand, here it just seems like a bonus just because.

Calling it "another freebie" is very clearly opinionated
I am indeed quite opinionated, doesn't mean that I'm right tho. I just complain a lot.
To me hook-grabbing was such a non-issue that I didn't understand why would people want to nerf it. Like what it forces you to use your brain for a grand maximum of 20 seconds? We weren't on hatch standoff levels.
I'm also not looking forward the hook swarming yet again gaining a bullet.
-
Meh. Just another freebie for survivors, nothing new under the sun.
-
Yeah, no. You leave my Killer lady friend be thank you very much.
-
Gotta get that adept and after a few games where you miss it by this much, hell breaks free. And if I listened to my bias I'd say you don't know need to wait when you open the gate but you still do, so eat the dirt.
But I'm not gonna say it because tribalism is bad
-
Hopefully never, I do quite like her
-
Look I'm as K-biased as they come but clearly Killer did receive buffs from the PTB and arguing otherwise is ignorant as best.
On the PH buff, I wish it could've been kept but I knew it was gonna get removed asap. It's not like there isn't any way to balance it out either - making cages work like hooks, making it impossible to condemn survivor closed to a hooked individual with the M2 - but I still wished it would've been made live. As I play I usually torment and hook so I can mori them after because I know tormenting them isn't an easy task, and using caged is really an option only if there's no hook nearby.
Hopefully it'll come back in some way.
-
I agree on Pinhead's part especially as he revolves around the box being a major factor.

It's on the queue as it's being released in about ten days. I expect to have "finished" my first Diablo IV character by then. The trick is to always finish a game by the time the next one on the queue is being released.
Ah, gotcha. Still gotta finish my Werewolf Druid on DIV. Really glad I get to be a Werewolf in a hack&slash, strange it hasn't been done earlier
-
@drsoontm said:
That was obvious but apparently they don't care. There are still enough people playing killer.
I've solved the issue with a tight schedule : Diablo IV, System Shock and Final Fantasy XVI for the foreseeable future, then Starfield. I'll be busy for a while. (While still keeping tabs on the game : I'm curious how bad it'll need to be for the perk to be changed.)
How's FFXVI btw?
-
I still wonder why they make this when the obvious solution is makin Cypress Mori basekit.
-
On one hand, take a break if you need to as your mental health is extremely important and if a game isn't enjoyable anymore there's no reason to inflict it to yourself.
On the other, I really don't see the point of announcing it in a forum. Like, what's the point?
-
@maschinen said:
Yet here you made Skull Merchant and Garden of Joy. I'm actually laughing beyond infinity right now.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good talk.
-
Would Survivor willingly let you hook them or leave gens undone?
No?
Then why should you make it easier for them?
Edit: Spelling
-
Maybe in custom games but it'd put you at a huge disadvantage compared to other survivors
-
What about Face the Darkness from the Knight? Relatively easy to activate and gives you good info on survivors if you defend it
-
The problem isn't even Gen-rushing. It's gen doing. What I mean by that is that you don't even need to have a specific build for gens to fly. Even if no one brings any perks for it, you can lose 2-3 gens by the time it takes to down a single survivor. It's enormous. And what's the best way to regain that pressure you lost as a Killer? Bingo, tunneling. Removing a survivor asap slows the game. Others will try to save them, slowing the game. That's a least 2 survivors not doing gens, which gives you breathing room.
Sure, people will always Tunnel even when not stressed by this - I mean tunneling's as hold as camping and no matter what you try to do it will still happen. That's sadly part of the core game when one side's objective is the other side's players. But I did find myself tunneling more because I sometimes don't have a choice between that and AFKing in a corner. I'd much rather get a 12 hooks game but good luck getting that against proper survivors when you're not a particularly good player, and I ain't.
-
I don't know what game you're playing but I certainly want no part in this.
-
@Pulsar said:
I'm probably, deservedly, in the minority.
However, I think I'm at the point in my Killer career where I just empathize with Survivors. My first thought wasn't, "How dare she" it was "That sucks for both of you, I wish BHVR would design Killers that aren't so miserable to play against that people would rather not play DBD."
Maybe it's just me that has a severe lack of empathy but I can't understand giving up instantly upon facing a Killer you do not like. I mean where do we draw the line? Should people be allowed to DC/give up on certain maps instantly? On every killer they don't like? On every survivors they see? Not play against, just see, like "Oh you're P100 well I'm not playing" or "Oh a Nea well I'll just AFK then".
Look I'm the first one to go cry in a corner of the basement when I get severly outplayed but at least I tried. People who don't even try, I don't know, it's so disrespectful to the others. I'm really against the "My enjoyment is far superior to yours and if it's not how I want at the get go you won't get a proper game because I said so".
Not saying you said that of course. Maybe I'm totally in the wrong.

Which this fix is going to address?? Did you not watch or see the livestream highlights? If survivors are rushing the hook, the timer doesn’t pause for nearly as long. Do you enjoy staring at a survivor for a minute straight after you hooked them?
Just to be clear, it's because I don't camp that I worry about it. 16 meters is an enormous area around the hook being basically forbidden for killers. It should be way shorter like maybe 10 meters max.
-
I'm genuinely waiting for it. The Killer's design and concept is great, the map looks incredible. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Sorry, my dear, didn't experience that in my 1.5K hours. Maybe instead of camping I was being busy with other two survivors? Yeah, I'm a disgrace to killers... :(
So in 1.5k hours you've never had any survivor rush the hook the moment you hook a survivor? Yeah I ain't buying that for half a second.
-
@EvilSerje said:
I'm sorry, maybe missed something?
Who punish killers for playing?
I see devs finally start to punish killers for NOT playing and not letting others play.
Survivors, my dear. Give them an opportunity to and they will rush the hook the moment their fellow mate is hooked without a care in the world and accuse you of camping.
-
In French we have a saying, "La bave du villain crapaud n'atteint pas la blanche colombe".
You can translate it to "let them spread hate if they want, you're better than lowering you to their level and shouldn't care"
-
I'm overly polite and caring, giving them cute little names and patting them on the back.
It annoys the heck out of them and it makes me laught.
-
Ultimate Counterpoint: hearing him say "S.T.A.R.S." is one of the best thing in the entire game
-
I honestly don't see the problem with hook grabs. I mean unhooking shouldn't be a freebie because you decided that doing it in front of the killer was a great idea, or that you shouldn't be punished for it.
I can't even begin to imagine the number of hook-rushing that would happen if it was removed.

To answer you - The outer part of the eyes are typically red and the inner parts are typically orange. The best thing to compare them to is the original title screen for OG Resident Evil 2.
Edit - Corrections - I also now see some inconsistencies with some games and now it's going to bug me but I guess that's the most accurate answer. For DBD I'd blame the world lighting rather than the model / material being incorrect.
Edit - Another timestamp from Re5
Oh, how I love him so

They're red, but they'll show up differently according to the lighting of the room as most things.
But canonically they're red.
-
Guess I just don't like cowards. DCing is giving your teammates a big middle finger and doing a Cartman ("Screw you guys, I'm going home"). It's the equivalent of a child throwing a tantrum because the game (that they accepted to play btw, that's what you do when you press ready) doesn't go their way.
I'm also not a big fan of adults with child-like behaviour like this.

But it is aimed at all survivors. How am i not a part of all survivors? Oh, maybe i am just not part of all dear survivors, but that means they only hold dear the ones that act in a way they dont like. Strange.
Don't worry, I'd still eat an apple from a rotten bag, and you're still a dear survivor.

If i see 3 other survivors at the gate with me I leave otherwise I'll stay
Well I don't know if they have really poor sense of direction but they always disappear when the timer is at least half gone specifically. I don't think it's a coincidence. Or it could be.

I understand alot feel that way. I'm just saying alot of survivors aren't staying to BM.
Thing is, I'm not a psychic (yet), I can't tell if it's out of niceness, or toxicity. Which is why I'd rather they left altogether.

Just killem all before the last gen is done. Problem solved. Your welcome.
Seriously, I dont think your thread will stop butt dancing at the exit gates. Take a small break or force'em to leave.
I mean, of course it won't. People will play however they want and there isn't a thing I can do about it. I just needed to vent it out a bit.
Edit: I will also attempt this whole murder thing it sounds fun.

@thrawn3054 said:
It depends on the situation. If I'm not sure where the others are I'll hang around a bit. If the killer is nearby I like to give them hits on the way out. It's not alot but extra bp is always nice. If the killer had a rough game and I have an item I like to give it to them. My way of say sorry they had a bad game.
All that said I hate the survivors who tbag at the gates. Well unless we're having a bag off with Ghostface.
I mean, I get it, I really do and it is up to my personal preferences, but I must say I really don't want any pity bloodpoints, or items on the ground (I mean it's not like I could do anything about them anyway).
I know that if I'm playing surv' and the killer had a terrible game, I just offer myself as a sacrifice. I think it's more, I don't know, meaningful?
And it might be me but most of the time they don't even let me hit them. They wait, and wait, and the second I pass the gate they're gone.
It shouldn't anger me so but it does and I hate it.
