Ever since the huge perk changements, the amount of tunneling, slugging and camping as increased a lot to the amount that every single game is like that...

Can there be done something about besides the basekit haste & endurance effect? Every single game teammates dc over the tunneling one by one.

Playing like this isnt fun for anybody and just drives people away from playing again. Change perks vack or make sure for more basekit things to prevent camping, tunneling and slugging. This is ridiculous at the moment.

If youre a killer that has this playstyle, please know that you are absolutely horrible and ruining the game for every person that plays survivor. This is how people become toxic.

I had a match today that I had to think about now. The killer was the plague. She brought a Feng to the ground and hung her up. Feng used kindred. The Plague was standing right in front of her looking in the direction the rescuers should be coming. We therefore did not attempt a rescue and repaired generators. Unfortunately, Feng made a DC and did not buy us more time. When we had made 2 generators, the Plague caught our Kate. We didn't even look to see if she was camped at first. We made generators.

End of story: I escaped with 19 511 blood points, the Feng who did the DC still got 113 blood points. And the Plague failed with 12 083 pathetic blood points. She would have gotten three times as many points if she had played correctly. She lost four times: fun, morally, tactically, and points-wise.

And: matches with camping killers I have once every 20 to 30 matches. That's not a problem. More survivor should be friendly to killers and stop toxic behavior. Then it would happen less often for sure.

  • I have played 115 games as a survivor since August 13. My win rate in solo Q is, I calculate it daily, 29.9%. The same as before.

Ah, the usual "if you disagree you're stupid" response.

    Here's what I'm seeing:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/86QY6L3HQ183/image.png

The blue line is perpendicular to the approximate center of the pallet. Note that it's not exactly at the midpoint of the green line, because of the 3D perspective (closer regions of the pallet are bigger, so the center of the pallet is slightly further than the midpoint of the 2D line).

Now jump to right before where you threw the pallet, and keep the above "center pallet" landmark line in mind:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PEM48JFGHTZF/image.png

Blue is the roughly midpoint of the pallet (I'm being generous here, I think it's actually a bit further left based on the other image) and green is about where the center of your character model is (the point between her feet).

You were on Bubba's side when you threw the pallet. The pallet is quite a bit further to the left than you think it is.

    Awesome analysis.

You can throw pseudo-phylosophical sentences, but no, I didn't say anything about win or lose. Fact is a fact: one role (killer) can deny gameplay of another role (survivor) and not otherwise. It's a video game which everyone play for a process. If someone deny other in participating in gameplay, that's the issue. Cheater, exploiter, camper, tunneler, no difference (except first one is responsibility of player, and others three are responsibilities of devs as service provider).

What if survivor could get to unreachable place for killer and deny him of gameplay? "I don't need to elaborate".

DbD is far from perfect. The devs are far from perfect. Solo Q desperately needs some love.

And as for your point that camping and tunneling is like cheating, the problem is in your mindset.

And now I will not respond to you anymore. I am wasting time that I can use better.

Yep, they deny. Because they are allowed to do it. Like cheater "doing his job" by using cheats to achieve victory.

It is part of the game, so, if you had read my message to the end, you would have see that it's not a killer-player resposibility, but devs.

"You can counteract it" is the weakest excuse untill SoloQ would be officially denied. Or DbD called as "pro tournament hardcore game" where casual players are not allowed.

There is a saying here. It says: sometimes you lose, sometimes the others win.

And there are sometimes days when you even win. Today I had 3 survivor matches in solo Q and 3 escapes, yesterday I had 1 escape out of 6 matches.

You made it clear what you play, how you play and what your mindset is. I don't need to elaborate.

You're splitting hairs. You're telling me not to be bothered by scummy tactics used by killer just to ensure their precious 4k just because BHVR said its ok. I don't care how many times BHVR or Killer mains say it is. It isn't.

That is your personal opinion. Okay, now we know. Get on with it.

this happens every other game to me (last 10ish seconds). I'm very clearly on the other side of the pallet and yet I'm forced backwards and drop pallet on the side next to killer. Took a year off due to unstable servers, terrible balancing and awful queue times. Only thing that's changed since is the queue times. See you in another year maybe

Nothing wrong with the game. You positioned yourself wrong.

Everything is true except putting "camping" and "tunneling" in "just playing the game" category. Camper/tunneler DENY picked survivor to play the game. Same as, for example, cheater does. That's the main issue. It's nearly an exploit, that is frustrating. And, opposite to cheating, it's not a killer-player fault (people tend to use the most cheap and easy ways and always will), it's responsiblity of devs, that provide "playground" and set rules.

"Camper" and "tunneler" deny nothing. They are doing their job, they kill survivor.

Playing most time as a survivor I do not enjoy killer that camp and tunnel. But it is part of the game and you can counteract it, as I've proven 2 hours ago: repair generators.

  • @SilentShepherd said:

The endgame is a total mess.

You need to introduce more ways for the last 1 or 2 survivors to finish the remaining generators. Once the team is dead, it's completely hopeless to do generators. The killer starts patrolling, hits every generator, and if you touch the generator, he knows you touched it because it's not regressing anymore.... he knows you are in that area and you get found and die. This is fine when you have a team to unhook you, but in end game, it's over. It creates a problem where survivors see their team die, and now they are hopeless and don't even TRY to do gens anymore, and who can blame them? This game needs a rework in endgame.

Or how about start thinking of cool new things and not just generators. Why not some cool new features where a survivor has to run around the map to different "stations" to turn things on, and repair things....pull some levers, hit some buttons, until the exit gates are powered up. This would fix a lot of the generator problems anyway.

Solo Q is hard to play, I lose most of the time. When I start grumbling at my randoms, I start thinking about what I could do better. Avoiding mistakes, helping the randoms more, etc.

And, for the record, my escape rate in solo Q this season is 28.42%. This is not a fictional value, but calculated.

And yes, Solo Q needs more love.

Just wanted to let people know that I just had a game where all 3 teammates disconnected in the first minute as soon as they saw it was a Myers. He then let me escape from the gate. What on Earth is going on with players right now.

    So what is your point?

  • I agree with 2. and 3. 1. is also fine, but I would like to add one thought. The attitude of the players is a direct result of the structures of the game, which are toxic in themselves.

  • If I get this correctly you have to heal yourself and have to escape, while using one and only one perk. Not two, not three.

  • @Negi said:

BHVR put those changes in place because they wanted to encourage perk variety and not make killers so reliant on slowdown perks while also increasing kill rates. Let's be real. Killers are stacking slowdown perks anyway and tunneling/camping it out with all the extra wiggle room they've been given. They don't care what the intent was, they do what gives results and that's always going to be the case.

What it's really done is make solo queue feel insurmountable and quite frankly insufferable, which is saying something when even double bloodpoints isn't enough to make you swallow the pill that is solo queue.

Killers are not overbuffed. Let me repeat: killers are not overbuffed.

The average killer is still much weaker than the average coordinated SWF. The average killer is stronger than the average random solo q team. And did we already talk about playing killer in high MMR and in low MMR?

I guess. Still feel like they should revert it to the 40's CD and allow us to reuse it. How else can we punish the facecamping? Thats just my opinion though.

If you want to punish a killer do it. Repair gens.
