I will quit every match, I will only do customs and killer. nothing tells me that someone isnt good as running bamboozle, ok yeah terminus bamboozle ok whatever, but doesnt change the fact that it requires zero skill to block every good window or a t wall window and then bloodlust the other side. bamboozle is extremely unhealthy for the fun parts of the game. hands down.

Bamboozle is a bit niche being only used on chainsaw killers. That said though the killer needs to block at the correct time and you as a surv once u know they have it can pre leave and get distance.

You really think Bubba is that strong? :o

Personally, I think he's considerably underwhelming without Bamboozle. But with that, he's definitely high B. I just didn't wanna take specific perks or builds into count because it can boost a killer to higher spots that I feel like they deserve.

Gotcha, tbh without any addons or bamboozle your spot is probably pretty accurate and if ur list is about that then this spot is fine (Have you seen the huge gap in distance he gets between having addons and no addons? its so absurd).

Bug fixes are always a thing! Whilst our schedule is pretty tight, as most players know we normally do 2 hotfixes and try to get as much in those as possible. It's distinctly possible though that a lot of the bugs found on the live release will not go through until HF2 due to deadlines.

Awesome, thanks for the response! That should work out just fine, as long as the most of the obvious gameplay bugs are fixed within the first hotfix I'm sure many people will be satisfied. Again I'm glad to hear you guys are working this out as myself and many others are very excited about this chapter and this killer.

  • @Mandy said:

Just popping in here real fast - we are looking to make some adjustment to the survivor detection area for grabs with Virulent Bound, as you know it was too large on the PTB and it got reduced for the release...we're going to be increasing it slightly to something in between what it was on PTB and Live.

We are monitoring feedback carefully around the release, and will possibly be making other tweaks - but can confirm this one with the grab right now.

Fantastic, that is what everyone has requested, around an extra 5-10ms should be fine. I assume along with this you will be fixing his bugs as well. It is nice to hear you guys are at least listening to the concerns, thanks!

  • @MeneLaw said:

I dont have much to say just : blight after blight after blight and so on .Maybe some diversity.

You just got unlucky, complaining here is literally going to do 0.

  • Surprising for a random forum tierlist, most of these are just fine. Only caviat is bubba, idk why he is low B, he is one of the stronger B tiers for sure assuming u run at least yellow chilli. Wesker normally should be at least mid A, but honestly with his huge amount of bugs and small hitbox you probably have him at the right spot at least for how he is rn.

Ikr? Clearly not a quite finished killer but to be fair to those types of people, compared to the PTB he is this close 👌 to being perfect I think. Just needs a few more tweaks. Maybe some of the wacky-er bugs won't really be considered "tweaks" but he feels pretty close to being perfect to me. Others are obviously reporting that he's SUPER buggy and finicky but the way I play him don't encounter issues so often that I'd be a surprised they haven't already rolled out a patch because he's THAT borked. They'll fix him soon I'm sure.

    I hope.

It happens often, like with pinhead's lunge bug. The killer is released, they are bugged then they do a bugfix patch a week later so the killer actually works.

  • @RonMan32 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3163052#Comment_3163052

In that case they should just have the geometry more tight to the models in the maps, I rarely hit stuff I didn't "deserve" to hit so reducing it feels like over kill. But yeah obviously 30cm is probably the perfect spot for survivor collision

Normally I would also agree, but they are simply not going to change the geometry of every single map just for one killer. So the next best thing we can have is to have the hitboxes be improved. If they do this and fix the bugs this killer will easily be the most fun.

  • @ChuckLit said:

I'm absolutely baffled how underwhelming of a killer he is. His power takes waaaay too long to charge up, it's useless at almost every loop, he's extremely slow in between Bounds, and on top of all this they nerfed his Bound attack hitbox significantly - now you pretty much have to be as precise as Nemesis' tentacle strike, BUT EVEN HIS POWER IS MUCH FASTER AND EASIER TO USE.

Bummer. I was looking forward to playing Whiskas, but in his current state I'm unable to enjoy him.

When you get lucky and dont get screwed by bugs and the small hitbox he is very fun.

  • @Biscuits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3162843#Comment_3162843

I disagree, this Wesker struggled to catch me all game, the only reason he ended up getting me was because of the infection. I still had 0 hook states, he tunneled just about everyone else out. If it was a 1v1 situation I would have gotten hatch, him being able to use another person against me killed me. Him not having to worry about my chase anymore killed me.

If u face a good killer who is prepared to be patient enough, ur not getting out without a lucky hatch. The game is over, does it really matter if u got hatch or not?

  • @Biscuits said:

In the event you get to be the lucky slug in a 2v1 situation, the infection on you gets put down to 75% instead of 50% like when you get hooked. This leads to a situation where Wesker can freely look for the other person, knowing full well that you will be fully infected if he needs to chase you again. I was left slugged for my entire timer because every time I got picked up he just chased me again till I was too slow to loop him.

Please make it so getting downed resets back to 50% infection. There is 0 counter-play against Wesker in a 2v1 situation when he slugs you.

Your usually not getting out of that situation against basically any killer anyway.

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3161292#Comment_3161292

It's actually 2 different hit boxes, the collision and the grabbing survivors hitboxes are totally different.

The collision hitbox was reduced as Wesker bumped into so many things on the PTB - I'm not seeing that happening on the current Live version.

With regards to grabbing the survivors, it was generous on the PTB and we could see that he was able to grab survivors that he really shouldn't have. This was also something that was adjusted, whether it's now gone the opposite way is hard to say - that's what feedback is for. But I want to be sure we're getting the correct feedback and not having the two different hitboxes mixed up.

The collision hitbox is great now, the big problem is the survivor hitbox, it is definitely too small especially with latency. Increase it to a midpoint so its not too big like before but also offers a bit of leeway to make his power far more accessible.

  • @Zucker_Schock said:

I agree, the Survivor detection is a little to small, you can sometimes touch the survivor and still miss your attack.

Exactly, it was defo too big on the ptb, but it made him so much more fun and useable. So I think an "in the middle" would be a good idea.

Games can ruin their atmosphere through poor decisions when it comes to new additions to the game.

I've quit CSGO for that exact reason when they started adding all kinds of weird operators, and so did many others.

I've quit LoL when they started adding weird skins that made no sense. Like at a point they turned an alien monster into a pug dog. It made me feel like I was playing some strange counterfeit copy of LoL that was hacked by 10 year olds who modded the game with bad skins.

I've quit Warzone when they integrated Cold War into what used to be the Modern Warfare engine. It made the game have 2 versions of the same gun, designed in different ways, with different animations and model quality.

Being horror and being scary are two different things by the way, stop confusing them.

Also marketing a game as horror and then adding new stuff that isn't horror is not so cash money

The big issue there is what is considered horror and scary is subjective. There r plenty of peps who probably find trickster scary and a very good fit a bit like the joker.

  • @ThePrizz said:

Being able to give you a thrilling experience throughout the match was what made me buy this game.

Having the sense of unease when playing a survivor and being kept on my toes, and creating it for the survivors when playing killer is what makes this game fun.

It's pretty sad that along the years, the devs started not taking into consideration if the stuff they put inside the game can create a thrilling experience or not.

Take the Trickster for example, the best example of poor design this game has to offer. His model, the sounds he comes with, his kit, have no horror qualities at all. Playing as a survivor I am not feeling any sense of unease when a killer with a model that looks like a modern time male TikToker from Korea comes towards me and the only thing he can do is to throw shurikens at me, plus his terror radius sounds like the soundtrack for the end credits of a Jason Statham movie.

Like who in the world thought this character would fit in a game like DbD ?

Wesker is another good example, if Venom from the Marvel movies climbed up on the hand of a random GTA pedestrian, it would look similar to his model, no cap. Like what's horror about him ? Anyone that would start playing this game without knowing the Resident Evil franchise would just see a random guy with an arm made of black jelly, THAT IS LITERALLY WHAT WESKER IS.

Now before you guys come and spam " B-b-b-but DBD is not supposed to be a horror game, cause after you play for a couple of hours nothing is scary anymore ". That's such a bs argument. A lot of horror movies are not scary, but they have eerie ambiance, they create a thrilling experience even if they don't necessarily scare you.

It also literally says on the official website that Dead by Daylight is "A Multiplayer Action Survival Horror game".

So my question is, WHY INTRODUCE STUFF THAT HAS NO HORROR QUALITIES TO THE GAME ?

And it's not only killers, it's maps too. Ormond, Forsaken Boneyard, Coldwind Farm and Grave of Glenvale are first of all too well lit for a game like this, and also lack horror props. Except for a dead guy on a chair in Grave of Glenvale and some dead cows in the Farm, there's nothing.

Forsaken Boneyard seems to belong more in World of Warcraft rather than DbD, there even is a place that looks like this in WoW called Silithus. Ormond looks like a really cozy place actually, just a busted up old cabin in some ski resort. Grave of Glenvale is basically de_westwood from Counter-Strike 1.6 and the idea behind Coldwind Farm is not bad, but the atmosphere should have been like a cold Autumn night with a blood moon instead,

Go play a different game, no matter what they add if u have 1k+ hours the game is not scary anymore. Whether they add another trickster or a killer who is actually terrifying it wont make a difference. This boils down to I think the Trickster is too colourful, at the end of the day who cares?

I’d love to hear your explanation for the 17 perks buffed and 40 perks released. All of which are okay, great, or insane on her. Without ever changing her or making any statement that she needs or will be changed.

Those same perks r insane on blight to (:

  • @Devilishly_Rowdy said:

So survivors rage quitting finally pays off as usual. Now they get a full on buffed version of BT as basekit. Which can pretty much guarantee an escape during endgame, if the survivor is unhooked anywhere near the exits. Go on, keep punishing killers for camping and tunneling, instead of looking into why MOST of the camping and tunneling is happening (survivor objective is much quicker than the killer's objective). So much for the kiLLeR siDeD pAtCh lol.

What a productive post and discussion.

  • "This would be a little oppressive on some killers, especially when paired with starstruck to make survivors exposed" quote from the devs, they themselves r designing perks with nurse in mind.

Yea but I am not on PC so I cant play PTB. I need some time to play it out once its live myself. Im just saying it looks too strong of a part of full infection on the paper at least

Its no worse than a pig trap, the idea is your suppose to take the time to get rid of it as apart of killer inbuilt game delay. If you let it get to that point you left it too long.

  • @The_Krapper said:

So after a couple of days what tier would you put wesker at? I personally think he's a low B or high C tier but I see some streamers thinking he's a high B low A, I'm just curious where the rest of the community here puts him at and why?

A tier, a solid power which you can use to block windows with bamboozle, gr8 save the best synergy and the infection which provides passive slowdown as the survivors have to interact with it. He also has a bit of map pressure since his dash is noticeably faster than walking.

  • @Neprašheart said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3124717#Comment_3124717

Her 1 Vs. 1 isn't as strong as Bubba's 1 Vs. 1. Grab Bamboozle, Enduring, and you can pretty much win a chase if your prey gets to the killer shack with little to no effort. She downs fast only if survivors don't use headphones, are inexperienced, or you're using the best add-ons.

I am glad, you've mentioned those add-ons. Mother-Daughter has always been the #1st Top add-on of her, and as for Dried Cherry Blossom.. Just.. Ughhh.. This add-on is so disgusting! The player has to put zero skill into gameplay, as the game basically spots survivors in close range.

Just because she can finish one chase fast enough doesn't make her S tier. The cooldown is horrible.. One full usage of her power, and three generators are at ~25% each. That does no longer fit the S tier.

As for Blight, Hillbilly's mobility is unmatched; You're wrong. Hillbilly's mobility has always been the top one, unless we're taking in mind teleports, but that would no longer count as mobility, right? Regardless, he's too map dependable to be S tier..

Spirits 1v1 is better than Bubba, she can get hits where Bubba will have to break the pallet and even with bamboozle, strong window setups can really hurt Bubba and him without chilly can have a hard time against good survs. (hence why bubba is high B and not High A/low S like Spirit). Her power can be used for a bit of map pressure unlike bubba as well. I will admit out in the open bubba is obviously gonna have a better 1v1, but his 1v1 is better than even Nurse in that scenario so I'm not going to fully count it.

The addons on Spirit are partly why she is in the high spot for sure.

If you finish a chase then even if the power cooldown was 10 seconds, that's totally fine, since you got a down which awards you pressure. I think even if Spirit is not S anymore she is top of A for sure.

Blight's map pressure is slightly better than Hillbilly since he can navigate around obstacles (indoor maps as well, Billy cant travel at least Blight can still rush in some areas). But they r close in terms of their travel, its just Blight can get hits way easier than Hillbilly, hence why Hillbilly is like low B now (poor billy). A good Blight btw and go watch Lilith if you disagree, does not really care too much about the maps, yes obvs some r better than others for him like indoor maps suck (they do for most killers tbf though even Nurse has to make predictions) but overall a good Blight knows what can work for them in each map and adapt accordingly.

  • @Neprašheart said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3122427#Comment_3122427

Right, but that still doesn't make her S tier, even if she were to use the best add-ons available. There's currently only one S tier available in the game - Sally, known as the nurse.

Blight, Hillbilly, Spirit.. All of them are B or A tiers, but they can't make it to S tiers even with their best add-ons. They just can't, because they're either too map dependable (Blight requires obstacles, he ain't gonna perform well in maps like Rotten Fields, Lampkin Lane, etcetera, and Billy is the exact opposite, but with a cooldown to his power in case you do overheat your chainsaw or bump into an object or two.

Would it be possible for you to explain, why do you believe that Spirit makes it to S tier? I have provided my thoughts, the reasons why I'm against the fact that she can make it to S tier.

Spirit still has one of the best 1v1s in the entire game being able to get downs at most loops very quick, no other killer below her really compares to this 1v1 potential, plus mother daughter ring and cherry blossom are insane addons. The iron will nerf means an injured survivor cant really do anything to mind game super easily. To add to this ask any top comp player and they will tell you Spirit is the 3rd best comp killer.

Also blight is S tier because his map pressure is uncontested, no other killer can put out the kind of map pressure that he can and blighted crow + alch ring is insane and he is again another comp killer 2nd only to Nurse.

  • @Tiufal said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3122430#Comment_3122430

With stacking slowdowns this isnt even a challenge. Hell, playing S-Tier killers even without 4 slowdowns is still too easy.

So we agree, my whole point is if camping ad tunnelling is boring then just dont do it, same if you found playing a particular killer boring

  • @KidDope25 said:

I feel like every time I play killer I don’t have to try to do anything but tunnel and camp and it gives me an easy 4k each match. I think it’s unfair I’m not presented with a challenge in your video game. How come when I do this it’s so easy and boring? I need more excitement from your game from killer. I’m not saying it should be removed entirely but at least make the scenarios difficult where I have to choose between tunneling or not tunneling. Like a risk reward decision. Without it this game is too easy for killer and it just makes me kinda wanna play something else for challenging. Thoughts?

Then just play without tunnelling or camping to give yourself a challenge.

Good headphones don't make you the best player. I'd argue that you don't even need them, if you can predict what the survivor's gonna do.. But that's debatable.

She may be in the top three, but that's only because she's the least realm and map dependable outta all of the killers in-game.. Well, minus Eyrie of Crows, of course.

Regardless she is still the top 3 with one of the best 1v1 powers in the entire game. Also yh good headphones don't make up for game sense and macro gameplay, you need both to really get value from her.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3121356#Comment_3121356

In what way? She just goes straight to where the survivor is like Nurse does? No, she loses vision, has delayed scratch marks, can't see blood, and can barely hear survivors. Her speed only goes to make up for the fact that she'll be following dead-end trails all the time.

If you have good headphones none of that matters, and scratch marks still act the same. Blood tracking does not matter since you can hear them anyway if they r injured. She is the 3rd best comp killer in the game for a reason, not to mention some of her addons being busted to.

  • @PapiFelixPSN said:

No, she doesn't. There are better perks.

And Starstruck is used on other killers as well. Not gonna make a list, but you can look at the powers and see who uses Starstruck well.

If u dont provide evidence ur point is invalid.

  • @PapiFelixPSN said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3121352#Comment_3121352

Even a lower cooldown. That'd still be OP on the killers who use it well now.

I'm All Ears isn't bad on Nurse, but it's also not good. That perk could be buffed if they wanted to.

I know I'm all ears is fine on nurse rn, I mean it could be buffed a decent bit but rn if it was nurse limits it. Starstruck on a lower cooldown would be fine, when does it ever see play on anyone except nurse? Again perk design is limited because of her and thats a fact, bypassing pallets and windows does indeed limit perk design.

  • Blight is S, no killer can compete with his mobility and his addons are outright crazy.

  • @Reinami said:

Here is the latest stats that were released by BHVR:

    https://i.ibb.co/VS3VByW/killstats2022.jpg

Now, this data is from 2021-2022. We can probably safely assume that kill rates dropped somewhere significantly across the board, which is why they buffed killers as a whole in the last recent update.

However, as you can see here, nurse has the lowest kill rate in the game. So it stands to reason, one of the following statements must be true:

    1. We can't balance around the top level players, and should instead balance around the 95% of other players. Nurse is fine, because she is really hard to play, and is extremely rare to come across a good one. Also, SWF are fine and should not be nerfed, because SWF kill squads are rare.
    2. We can and should balance around the top level players, Nurse is too powerful in the hands of top level players and should be nerfed. SWF and survivors in general at the highest level play are far too powerful and gens go too fast in relation to how long chases can last and survivors as a whole need to be nerfed and/or remove SWF. Nor should survivors be able to do something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtENJZ_z0zw&t=1s

One of those 2 statements must be true. Either we balance around high level players, which means one thing, or we don't, which means another. If you attempt to merge pieces of 2 of the statements together, or to only hold one part of the statement true for either side of the argument, then you are simply BIASED.

Or we just bridge the solo q gap and then we can buff or nerf killer accordingly depending on the new power level of survivors once this has been properly put in place.

I don't get how people still say she's an S tier killer when I play as Spirit I get good results for an A tier killer but, not S tier. I feel I get better results with other A tier killers like Pinhead, Pyramid Head, Dredge, or Oni.

Sure Spirit still has good mindgames the stand still mindgame still works somehow and some of her addons can be interesting to try and play around such as the one that teleports you back to her phase decoy.

However, the rest of her kit with the directional phase I can't see it as S tier even when I play against good Spirit's I think she's an A tier killer.

Iron will nerf especially makes her a solid S tier killer.
