A nerf to his camping value, sure. But is that really important? If you're relying on camping to secure kills, you're not really "winning".
How mediocre he is simply isn't really relevant here.
Yes his camping value is important. He's the best killer at it and it is certainly part of his kit. There are situations where you should camp like if you have a hook in the middle of a three gen.
"you're not really "winning"."
What kind of mental gymnastics is this? No one but le gentlemen killers thinks anything below a 3k is a win disregarding hatch. If you get 3k via camping whether or not it's you making the right move or the survivors making the wrong one you won.

Yeah, but I'm not nerfing his 1v1 potential at all. Unless we're counting speed limiter.
He is a killer that is easy to understand and aside from weird collision not too hard to use
There u go, he wouldn't mind a nerf in his camping style. I'm sure new players would love this change, not the Bubba, but the survivors who end up getting camped to death & then come complaining here which is 100% understandable. And then they would hate the game, not come back.... etc, etc....
Here is one of my strongest arguments, if not more:
- Making this change would punish a camping bubba even more as it would allow the survivors to trade hooks & while slamming gens at the same time.
- It will make sure Bubba gets no kills or no more than one if someone has BT, but this also depends on your teammates if they have the perk so it might not be always the case.
- This will allow the previously camped survivor to actually play the game, even if it's just holding m1 on gens, doing totems or whatever... At least he'll not have a miserable death on the hook.
- Bubba will always get a trade even with this nerf, no matter what.
- If you're too close, Bubba will down you no matter what. So he's gonna get a down and a hooked person.
Nerfing bubba wont stop him or any other killer from camping when they think they can get away with it.
No, but it will make sure Bubba will not be the strongest at this kind of thing. I'm also looking at you Hag....
It doesn't matter how you spin this. It's a straight up nerf to bubba and there's no reason to nerf him.
-
@Pilot said:
Well, if that is too much. Maybe deplete 1/3 of his power once he hits a second survivor?
But then he would need to change in addons.
It's mainly a nerf to his camping. BHVR only made him stronger in camping after his rework.
-------
Ugh, I can't reply or post pictures. Says Network Error... So I have to resort to tagging.
Camping is generally a bad strategy that is only enabled by even worse survivors. Every game is gonna have unfun cheese whether or not it wins you games. If you get camped by a bubba just take a piss break or something and hope for the next match to be better. Nerfing bubba wont stop him or any other killer from camping when they think they can get away with it.

If that were the case than why aren't all of the maps during the day?
Because other stuff exists? What kind of question is this. They obviously take a lot of inspiration from movies like F13 and TCM but that doesn't mean DBD is a straight up F13/TCM game. They do a lot of their own stuff and take inspiration from other stuff.
-
Texas Chainsaw Massacre is like the number 1 influence for DBD as a whole and most of that movie takes place during the day.
-
Bubba doesn't need a nerf.
-
Get really good with nurse.
-
The farm map that has nothing in the middle except for killer shack is terrible. You can't rush across the map because there's just not enough to use so you have to either walk or go in circles which really isn't ideal. Besides that it's just got super good loops for survivors like cowtree which will usually be linked up with other safe loops.
-
The difficulty of the two roles goes like this. Bad Survivors < Bad Killer < Good Killer < Good Survivors. If you're playing against solos who are bad you can play any killer you want. Which is good because 90% of the playerbase fits into this category. Once you start facing GOOD survivors or even just average survivors in a swf you'll start having a really tough time as killer.
The best killers lose to the best survivors. That's a fact. If you really want to play killer you're playing killer because you like playing killer. Not because you think it's easier. So pick a killer you mesh with, one you like the aesthetic of, or just find fun. Just try some killers out and see which one you think is the coolest. After you find the one you like you can start looking into guides on how to play that killer specifically better.
-
I'd get rid of a lot of offerings honestly. Maps for sure. Instead I'd make it so in the lobby when it counts down from minute survivors get to pick 4 maps out of 7 that they don't want to play. Then the killer gets to pick the map from the remaining 3 without the survivors knowing which one it is.

From my point of view you can dodge his power easily...zombies again are rng based and the killer was lucky that even happen for him. Safe zones...where the killer can't do nothing but break pallet? So you know the loop isn't fair but complain when Nemesis get really lucky with zombie rng and you lost at the *SAFE LOOPS". alright I am done.
Yes it's possible to get lucky with zombies. It's also possible to get lucky with a key from chests. Structures spawning in favor of either side. Hex totems spawning out in the open or right next to survivors. Etc. Get over yourself.
-
DBD is full of rng mechanics that win or lose games all the time. Zombies are no exception. Calm down.
-
Why don't we look at the cause instead of the symptom? Losing what should be a guaranteed 4k because of the rng hatch feels bad. So the killer is doing all he can to mitigate this. The killer wants his percieved win and the 4th survivor wants a free escape. But this is all being enabled by the ######### rng of the hatch.

- bt can be waited out and is obvious most of the time
- ds is run like 15% of the games now aside from it being the obsession there isnt much point to ever respect it.
- you always expect her to have more hatchets because she can always try baiting you into thinking she doesent.
- spirit fury is also extremely annoying to play against however most people who use it blindly lunge into every pallet making it rather obvious. also kicking pallets that are normally a waste of time is a good indication aswell.
- With spirit you make and educated guess. yes you can count how many seconds she *might* have been in phase in but you have to blindly guess her exact location every second which becomes exponentally more absurd every second especially since the addons make such a huge diffrence. for an experienced player you might it pull it off bit more especially against a less experienced killer however for the average player its unreasonably difficult. the problem isnt that shes good its that its tidious to play against.
Everything you just said is still making guesses. You're just claiming that it's always obvious to you because bad players always do x thing. You're still guessing just educated guessing. Same as spirit. All of these things have zero indication until it's too late.

Right so I watched a video where one of the most informed dbd creators talks about how no addons even come close to spirits, so taking that information yes I guess I'm wrong, but i don't get why you keep bringing up other killers being faster than her, I never once said that any killer is faster than Spirit, I don't get why you keep bringing up who is faster when it literally doesn't matter in the conversation at all. The big difference between literally every killer and Spirit is you can't see her and she's so fast, if a billy is coming towards me at mach speed I can still dodge it, I don't even know what a spirit is doing at mach speed.
I showed you there are better addons and ones that come close. You said there wasn't acting like spirit is one off case worth her addons. That's blatantly not true and now you're using circular logic to say you're right because of otz's video. Calm down man.

and Rin can increas hers by 40% with one addon, what's your point here?
and which addons increases Blights movement speed by 50% I can't seem to find them? and if you're talking about the ones that let you get a speed increase with consecutive hits how is there no negatives to these? they don't work at full power all the time, I would agree if you were immediately 50% faster but you're just not, you're only 50% faster after 5 bumps?? lmao
there is literally nothing I posted that was wrong, you misunderstood now talking about stacking addons and a 20% increase addon which is half of the top Spirit addon.
All those addons come close to rin or surpass not to mention all 3 of those killers are still faster than her. You said no other add ons increase speed by more than few miliseconds which is blatantly not true. You also still act like Rin's iri doesn't have a huge downside.
"there is literally nothing I posted that was wrong"
I have posted several times showing where you're wrong and you keep back peddling and moving goalposts. Perhaps you should stop.

What false information did I post? You clearly didn't read what I said,
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/VC6YDCRTZ4UA/chrome-08-06-1623183025.png
I said "NO ADDONS CHANGE A POWERS SPEED EVEN CLOSE TO THE AMOUNT SPIRIT DOES, MOST SPEED CHANGES ARE A FEW MILLISECONDS" I didn't say spirit was the fastest, you misunderstood what I had written and your rebuttal made little to no sense but I let it by because it would have been nitpicking, so no, I didn't post false information, you just didn't understand that I said spirits addons alter her speed more than billy etc addons alter their speed, try to understand next time.
https://youtu.be/1Dqzt_FRFPc?t=332
I linked the relevant part in the video so you can understand what i mean.
Billy gains 20% from one add on, Blight gains up to 50% with his two add ons (with no negatives btw) which is more than spirit's 40% from her iridescent. Nurse can gain a ######### load of speed with her add ons too between 20-30% with the extra range on her teleports and straight up adding a 3rd blink. So these three all come close or pass spirit's addons.
Stop being so upset for posting something wrong.

Except you can see billy & nurse, you can hear billy & nurse, and this is why we can't talk solely about the addons.
You blatantly posted false information and now you're moving the goalposts.
-
@Seanzu said:

because no addons change a powers speed even close to the amount spirit does, most speed changes are a few milliseconds, and can vary wildly, where as any other killer gets a few milliseconds which are helpful but not drastically impactful.
Spirit with double speed addons including the iridescent isn't faster than double speed billy, double speed blight, or nurse.

Again, you're comparing things that take setup to something that is always there, that is spirits entire power, every match you go against spirit it will be the same, not every match will have spirit fury / keys etc because they involve setup and certain situations, spirit is just ALWAYS the same dude.
We're talking about her addons. Her addons are just as random and full of guessing as a million other things. If the devs were to remove ALL the guessing then they should remove all guessing from everything else which you seem to see as fine.
If you don't have some sort of guessing or unreactablity then a game becomes solved and very boring.

Well syptic agent is an issue, I would not argue with that, and same with keys. I’m not bias towards one side you know, I play both sides equally so don’t act like me understanding Spirit not having reliable counterplay means I don’t understand issues survivors have too.
I agree. I think spirit could use some more counter play but this will obviously be a nerf and that's fine. I just think that they shouldn't nerf one side at a time like what they did with moris.
-
@Seanzu said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2252273#Comment_2252273
All of these things are situational and involve some sort of setup to use, spirit is literally just never knowing what shes doing, it's not even close to the same.
How do you know someone has spirit fury when they break safe pallets like shack? How do you know someone has DS if you down them off hook? How do you know someone found a key offscreen? How do you know someone brought syptic instead of just a normal medkit?
-
@GannTM said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2252354#Comment_2252354
Again, you are missing the issue with Spirit. All of those things you’re mentioning are unpredictable before they happen, yes, but there is a confirmation on them having it and there are ways to play around them even if you haven’t seen it yet. For example, not hitting the guy that got unhooked to avoid BT, not picking up someone that was recently unhooked to avoid DS. With Spirit, there’s no way of ever knowing what she has in terms of add ons or how she plays because you can’t see what the ######### she’s doing.
Let me rephrase it so you can actually get it: the unpredictability of what everyone has is fine as long as there are ways to play around them.
"unpredictability of what everyone has is fine as long as there are ways to play around them."
How do you play around syptic agent? Random keys being purple/pink or green? How do you play around any 50/50 guessing game?
-
@GannTM said:
Well if it’s multiplied and the survivor doesn’t have Iron Will, they will have a 100x50=5000% grunts of pain. You’ll be able to literally hear them from the other side of Mother’s Dwelling if that was the case.
This is some spicy bait.

@GannTM said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2252273#Comment_2252273
I’m sorry but that isn’t a good counter argument. Literally everything in the whole match of DBD comes with the inability to know what everyone has at the start of the match. That’s not an issue because overtime you’ll start to have an idea on what everyone has.
If they’re playing in a certain way, you can predict if they have BT, DS, Blood Warden, etc. You can see directly if they have Sloppy Butcher applied to you.
When it comes to Spirit, there’s no information to be given at any point in the match. There’s no conditioning against her add ons because you can’t tell where she is or how she’s playing.. That’s the issue people have with her, how do you people not get it?
It's all just guesses until something happens. You're guessing whether or not spirit's addons will let her reach you from x distance based on how often she has been using her power. It's no different than guessing whether or not someone has bt or ds. Or guessing if huntress brought extra hatchets. Or guessing if spirit fury was brought. All of these things can be game changers and there's no way to know other than making guesses until they happen.
-
@GannTM said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2252262#Comment_2252262
Mind giving some examples?
There's no way to tell if someone has DS, borrowed time, sloppy butcher, blood warden, lopro chains, etc until it's too late. Does a pyramid head hitting you through walls have I'm all ears or is he just got good hearing or taking guesses? Did that key a survivor pull have addons because they're running ace's perks? Did they pull a green key from a chest or a purple/pink?
There's a lot that just turns into educated guessing at best and usually only after the fact. Plenty of killers still end up respecting DS because you MIGHT have it.
-
There's a million different things involving rng or not being able to tell what the other side has as far as items/perks/addons until it's too late. Why should spirit's addons be different?

"If You Looped Better" lmao how can i loop a killer who is basement camping? You want me to jump in a locker and teleport out or something. As for the second game i got camped by Pyramid head, he hit my BT with his long range, chased me like 20 yards and hit me through a wall with his long range...not sure how that's primarily down to my skill at looping. On top of that, i'm not gonna force myself to run a perk i don't like just because a killer may want to tunnel or not. Like I said it's massive flaw in the games design...
So pyramid hit you through walls from 20 meters away? Sounds like he was really good man he deserves the down.
Also why are so many people quoting me like I've complained about survivors bringing DS or camping? It's the best perk in the game people should bring it just like I being infectious on oni and ruin/undying on blight. There's no reason to gimp yourself or get mad at people for not playing by imaginary rules you made for them in your head. That's called the scrub mentality.
-
If you looped better you might have gotten away. Also please don't blame killers for making the correct play because you decided not to bring the strongest perk in the game.
-
Are you trying to tell me the billy changes were an improvement?
-
I made a profile just to comment on this. BHVR should let you know who is in a swf with who. People always counter this by saying that killers would just lobby dodge or bring a mori. But isn't this indicating a bigger problem? That swf is such a huge advantage that no killer would face it if they didn't have to unless they had an ebony mori? There's a real problem here part of the bigger picture with balance.
Also you can manually check people in the pre lobby to see if they're on each other's friend lists but it's tedious.
