I have to agree with Trapper. I main him and every time I step in a trap I think....how'd I not see that coming?! WP sir!

I don't think you understand how this game works.
Camping and tunneling are both valid strategies that have their own benefits and draw backs;
- Camping helps guarantee a kill but removes all of your map pressure
- Tunneling also helps secure a kill but makes it harder to pressure other survivors
It's not the killer's job to ensure you have an enjoyable experience, (other than simply being your opponent.)
It's the killer's job to KILL you. How they go about this is entirely up to them.
If you dislike tunneling and camping so much, I'd recommend either getting good at prolonging chases, or doing gens.
Either are solid counter-strategies if you know what you are doing.
lol You contradict yourself by saying they are valid strategies and rightfully stating you lose map pressure. The goal is not to kill one. Ot is to kill them all. Camping and tunneling depends upon bad survivor play to be successful. That makes them bad plans, not valid strategies. Huge difference between them.
Just talking from a strategic point of view here.

I play both sides at rank 1 as well and I disagree with almost all of this.
"The main issue with this game is the map sizes. It takes someone like doc a good 30/40 seconds if not more to get across coldwin...map reworks are coming."
This is the only thing I agree with.
Most those complaints people have are pretty valid complaints that have been an issue for years. Not sure why you'd call them killer complaints either, it's pretty easy even as a survivor to see how busted those perks are with the games current balance.
You blame killers for camping/tunneling and point to them as the source of the problem and the need for those perks. In reality the blame is on the games balance team for making those things needed to win in many scenarios. Against "good" survivors and on a bad map (which is the majority of them) you aren't winning playing completely "fair", if you did the survivors were bad. There is obviously an exception to this on some of the top tier killers, but it holds true for the vast majority of the killer roster.
I shouldn't feel like the power role on survivor.
I play mainly killer and disagree with your DS, BT, and ruin points. Running DS and BT is a waste vs me. I don't camp, I don't tunnel. Your BT will not proc all match and you might get a chance to DS me if you are one of 2 left during EGC. I don't often see EGC though as I 3 to4k 80 percent of my matches.
The 20% of the time I let my wife drag me into survivor play is always filled with camping and tunneling killers who cry about gen rush after the match. They ignore the fact they gave up all map pressure to focus on one survivor or camp. They cry about DS or BT yet they are camping and going for the just unhooked survivor.
I hate running DS but feel forced to run BT just to give other players a chance. This is why I hate playing survivor. I prefer to throw together random builds and play.
Yes gen speeds are a problem, but it does not need a nerf. Survivors need a rich BP-reward second objective that feeds into the gens. That will pull them off gens, reward good BP and make life easier for killers. Map size needs work as well. I prefer Trapper and hate when I get large maps.
-
I go out of my way to avoid double hooking within a minute or 2 of unhook. I still get complaints from some whiney players. It happens. Last night I ran into the unhooked Feng on the other side of the map. Best part is we were coming from opposite directions. Round the corner, see a body, swing, recognize the only Feng in the match as just having gotten off the hook so I leave her. I chase and hook 2 others before finding Feng again, but after the 4I I get called a tunneler by Feng.
Luckily, her SWF friends disagreed and the chat turned positive.
It happens. Some players just whine. Most are either children or living in mom's house still.

I've ducked out of red ranks with both killer and survivor. Too sweaty and not much fun. Devs have turned a blind eye to the toxic side of this game for so long now that I think it is too late to do anything.
Just waiting for a few games on my list and will likely uninstall. Sad really, this game has promise, but if you give azzhats an Avenue to be super toxic for the fun of it, they usually will take it. It's ruining the game fast.

You do realize a slugged survivor is 3 survivors doing nothing right? 1 is on the ground, 1 should be in chase and 1 should be picking the slugged guy up.
This right here. These DS posts crack me up. It reveals the hardcore tunneling killers. I only get DS'd at end game if I have a scenario where I have one hooked and one free with a door open.
DS is fine. It is so much better than the old version and actually serves a purpose now. If you eat DS all the time, you likely tunnel too much.
-
Though I play killer, I used to play survivor and my still does. My concern with altering gen speeds is though it might help the minority of players at the red rank levels, it will completely destroy all ranks below purple and maybe even purple. It will be a slaughter if gen times at rank 10 to 20 are lengthened. Killers already clean up at these ranks, even if they suck.
This will create a chokehold on the game and cause a massive survivor shortage. I want to see population grow, not shrink.
I think the answer lies in buffs and positive tweaks, not nerfs.

It’s very overused at this point and I’m just kinda starting to hate it I mean your a killer people are not supposed to “boop your snoot” I don’t play pig a lot but when I do I show no mercy especially those who try to boop
It's a game, not a role playing game. So it does not bother me. Once you take a step back, you realize that DbD is you and I playing a game to have some fun. If part of that fun is you trying to "boop the snoot", then all good.
To me, the reactions I get from people when they go for it and I respond by spinning around and running off are a blast. After that, I could probably face camp them and still get light-hearted banter in end game chat.
Had one match become a game of Piggy pinball where they all closed in on me "bouncing" me back and forth as they booped my snoot. One guy missed and I filled them all. They had no idea that DH had activated when we started the 3 minute game of piggy pinball. We had a great chat with lots of joking around afterwards.
I'm glad for BtS, it has added a bit of levity.

If you think killer is hard now, you should have been here a couple of years ago. You would eat 4 DS before your first hook, watch survivors self heal as you broke a pallet just to then be insta-blinded. Yeah, then there was the fact that there were a lot more pallets on the maps and Brand New Part was a lot stronger.
I agree there are some concerns around balance and gen speed (which is more about objectives than anything else), but all this crying about the game being survivor sidedbis very short sighted and immature. Even in the past year there have been some very heavy survivor nerfs. Instant healing addons, med kits, balanced Landing and EGC are just a few off the top of my head. Clearly not a survivor sided mindset.
I think we should shy away from nerfs at this point and start looking at ways to buff or create new things. The answer is not always in nerfing.

Would making it so Killers can consistently rack up 40-50K+ BPs per match (base, without BBQ) incentivize players to play as Killer more? The point would be to get more players in that role to at least HELP A LITTLE with queue times.
Let’s face it: the game will NEVER be balanced to everyone’s liking and killers will always struggle against good teams. But bloodpoints seems to be a common interest on both sides.
Regardless of the state of the game, would a major BP increase for killers encourage any of you to play as this role more? I run into a lot of “daily” killers who are running like 3 perks, so obviously people like earning those extra BPs and use a character they normally don’t.
If you run BBQ, or a good BP offering and spread the attention around, you easily average 45 to 60k bp. The average map with Trapper is BBQ and a 50% BP offering that easily ends in 50k plus. If you are just running bare bones with no offering it is easily 25 to 30k.
If you are hardcore camping or tunneling, you often are lucky to hit 20k. I've seen most languish in the 16 to 20k region.
If I really want BP, Doc or Legion with BBQ, Distressing, BoP and Thrill plus an offering. Can take in easy 80k plus depending.

Not really. A camper is just going to now camp your team mate. I could say the same thing about survivors caring about killers fun. "Don't even try to pretend otherwise". For your own sake, don't get into it with me. Your ego will crumble to pieces.
Wow, this kid needs some serious help. This ego trip screams of desperation. DS will help vs a camper, seen it happen too many times to discount it.
As for tunneling, it only works vs bad survivors. If they are worth their weight in pocket lint they will be able to pop gens during your singular focus while offering a single extra body to slow down your attempt to "quickly " dispatch someone. That is one of the top reasons I don't focus on a tunnel plan. It depends on playing vs bad survivors. Add in the limited perk setups that assist in tunneling and the game gets too boring too fast.
Gen pressure is still the best overall strategy, but requires a fluid play style and an understanding of each map. I main Trapper, but can still hold my own, even though I admit the lack of alternative objectives for survivors often make it much more of a hassle these days. Gens are quite fast.

The game developers promote a downright scummy play style that completely ruins the game and setting for a good portion of its players.
I'm talking killers and survivors. If they cut out some of the more toxic abilities in the game, they might find it easier to balance the game.

You're talking about SWFCs who try and save their friends. They probably were around purple ranks?
Red. Lowest was rank 3. 2 were SWF, the other 2 solo.
-
Both need tweaks. Nobody should be nerfed because it would throw either lower rank survivor or higher rank killer out of whack.
Killer needs to have better map pressure for low mobility killers. There should be no infinite loops. It is insane that a survivor of equal skill to a killer can run the killer around for 2 or more gens. Maps are too large as well.
Survivors need options beyond looping to escape killers. If loops were securely shortened, but multiple escape options that improved with skill, then it would be much better overall. Stealth is a very limited option, and really does not count due to the multiple tracking perks/addons.
The answer is in improving both sides while removing bad game mechanics.
-
As killer: "skilled" survivors being the definition of someone who can run in circles around a pallet and there is little to be done unless you run one or 2 specific killers. If killer and survivor are of equal skill, survivor will waste lots of time with little payoff for the killer. It is a horrible game design and now is so ingrained that nerfing it could have massive negative affect on the game. The answer is new game modes with all new mechanics.
As survivor: Hardcore camping or tunneling. Even if I'm not the victim of it, it is completely boring and destroys the spirit of the game. It is nothing but M1 simulation and exit. No rush of being chased, or concern that you have been hooked twice and do I risk going in for a rescue, or should I take a risk? No cat and mouse, just pure boredom. It is one of the 2 leading reasons I became a killer main. No matter how toxic a group can be, I can still influence my level of engagement and have some measure of enjoyment, no matter how minuscule. As a survivor watching others get tunneled right off of hook, or being downed before I can do anything, it is pure boredom with no influence on anything.
Oh, the other reason to become killer main was BP. There is absolutely no comparison between killer and survivor BP. Killer role wins this hands down.
-
It is weird. Better and worse. Because it is new, I've seen a lot of 4 man sabo squads. I counted 10 this weekend. They run BO, Sabo, MoM, DH and literally follow you around. Initially, it was seriously annoying, but eventually, it turned into a mind game. IG is useful, as you can drop your quarry and down another, then get them in 30 seconds when the hook returns.
The other thin I noticed was how long the matches were. 3 to 4 off of gens at all times, trying for that hook sabo. I started baiting it. Pick up the survivor, find another running, drop and down that one, but won't leave the area in chase.
In short, long matches, lots of BP, and 4k in 8 out of the 10. 1 of th 10 had 3 escape, but I still zero pipped due to the several downs, pallets, hooks, chases and gen kicks. One 2k.
New sabo takes some getting used to, but is completely mind gameable.

BT and DS in endgame reward the survivor for playing well.
You can't really complain about survivors having tools to escape you facecamping them in endgame.
Anyone who has played vs me, or seen me railing against camping and tunneling knows I'm a huge hater of that play style. I main killer, but I will usually go out of my way to avoid doing either. That said, I've been bitten hard at end game by both perks. When the gates are open and there are 2 people left, one is on a hook, the other is running across your path to head to the hook. You move towards the rescuer, with the thought that hey, I'll get one of the two and let the other go. I'll try for the rescuer because I don't want to tunnel. The rescued survivor jumps in the way, takes the hit with BT. Now I have a choice. Let them both go, because no way I get 2 hits on the rescuer. Or, take a chance and down the "tank" who just blocked. Then eat a DS and lose both anyways. I might as well have sat in a corner and just let them both go. There is no "right" way to do it. Sit at the exit? Nope, they heal and run past. Run NOED? But NOED is toxic, remember? (I honestly hate running NOED unless running an end game build.)
If I were to have played a bit more dirty and tunneled them all at least one time off the hook, I would have eaten the DS earlier and I might be able to get both of them now, if not one. But no, I tried to play with some sportsmanship and get bitten for it.
So yes, both perks will bite both the toxic and fair players. There is no way around it. Even if I waited back out of TR until he rescued, then moved in, I have to tunnel one and eat DS, or get just one hit on the other. No win scenario.

Honestly, it's pushing me further away. I don't like the concept of DbD being like a FPS. If I want to play a FPS I'm going to go to a game with a better dev team that knows how to build and manage their game.
Add in some of the concepts of the character's perks and I think it makes survivors focus even more on gens. I fully disagree with punishing survivors for doing totems. I want them doing things other than gens. That helps slow things down. If they are going to get a debuff or be revealed to the killer for 10+ seconds (Holy crap that's a very long time!!!), why risk totems, get back to gens and take your chances.
I think the devs may have a vision, but they have no quality control function and it keeps getting in their way. Someone on their team should be responsible for pointing out the potential pitfalls of their ideas. We saw it with MoM and dozens of other things.
They don't learn from their mistakes and they keep damaging their own game. It's a testament to how unique the original design of the game was. It has been able to survive the horrible mismanagement that has occurred since release.
Going to take a break and hope that is all I need. Considering the disgust I feel at the direction and poor management at this point, I'm afraid it won't be the answer.
GG All.

MoM angers is a waste of BP to clear it from your blood web. It was too powerful before, and absolutely useless now. I've seen people avoid the objective and get killed just to get it to work. Takes a ton of luck and effort. Easier to just load up a steptic and use it.

But they didn't. 2 survivors won, and 2 survivors had a draw. How the ranking system should have worked for survivors is there are no depips or double pips, but only two pips are available for the collective. So the two survivors that performed the best will move up in rank, while the other two stay put.
This would put you in competition with not only the killer, but your fellow survivors as well. This would ensure that only the best players of your group will pip. If you all played well, then the best of the best would wind up in red ranks. Rank reset would send you back a few to start all over.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1108690#Comment_1108690
This is why my collective pip idea would work best. There would always be two survivors moving up, keeping red ranks stocked and strong, while also keeping the weaker purple and green ranks stocked.
Not sure what your idea is, but judging by the matches I've been seeing from both sides, it is a crap show of dominance one way or the other. 4 Man SWF destroying a killer, or killer obliterating 4 solo players with 4 gens left. Nobody pips in one match, everyone pops in the other.
Not sure that is balance, so hopefully your idea is better than that.

But here's your core problem, in a 2K, at least two of your survivors are going to pip, and the other two are likely going to black pip. In a true draw, no one should pip. So two survivors that probably didn't earn it rank up into red ranks, while killer stays where he is.
This gets you diluted red ranks for survivors, and barely any red rank killers. So all of your red rank killers get used up on a mixed bag of survivors, and matchmaking starts moving down the list until you get red rank survivors playing green rank killers.
Now again, it's a mixed bag, so those green rank killers might get potato red ranks, or they might get the TRUE red ranks and get absolutely walked on, which is as miserable an experience in gaming as I've ever seen.
So the killer PIP system is fine, but it needs to be significantly harder to rank up as survivor. Pretty sure I know the reason why you made it so easy to get to red ranks as survivor. That little badge is an ego boost, makes you feel like a real bad ass, gives you that gaming high that you're looking for, which in turn makes you more likely to buy new cosmetics to set yourself apart from the noobs.
Same reason why matchmaking wont change even with mmr, and you add stuff like this new sabo. Survivors don't want a challenge, they want a bully simulator, so all the better for them to play killers that they shouldn't. Also makes them feel like a big shot, and gives them the gaming high they're looking for.
Though your logic is correct, the reality can sometimes be messier. For instance, a while back there was an issue getting survivors to pip. The pip was harder to get. Red rank killer que times were insane because there were not enough red rank survivors.
You need 4x the red rank survivors than killers in order to balance the ratio. They chose to ease up on survivor pips in order to get more re ranked survivors, thus lowering the bar.
In short, due to a 4 to 1 ratio needed, there will always be a lower pip bar for survivor when compared to killer. That also feeds the red rank killer pool because there are enough potatoes to feast on. Messy, but it worked in lowering those que times some.
-
I had to run afk after the 1st 60 seconds of a match. Running Trapper. Wife screams because the faucet shoots water everywhere so I run in, get water shut off and eventually return. 1 gen left. I 3k on the match because they got cocky and tried to swarm my hook, but I pre-trapped it in the beginning. That starts a snowball where I get the time to isolate the remaining gens with traps and start picking them off.
This was Groaning Storehouse with 1 gen on each side and the mid gen remaining.
Gens are fast, but smart play can counter.
-
Honestly, the Sabo may be fast, but the hook regen is seriously quick as well. All it does is keep more people off of gens as they try to sabo. It is a new mind game. Coordinated 4 man SWF sabo squads will make the most of it, but others won't be that effective.
In short, it will get people off gens and is not that effective if you mind game a bit.
-
The map is way too bright. Feels more like Red Dead Ridiculousness and less like DbD. Killer is ok, but does not fit the horror genre at all. Since when are we moving towards a FPS. I'd rather play games designed and balanced as a FPS. This is a bad direction overall.
No wonder they tried so hard to defend their crap hit boxes. Between trash servers and hinky hitboxes, this killer is a mess.

Like using it to protect Ruin, or Devour Hope?
Mark my words, gens will go even faster. Avoiding totems will become a thing. I hope I'm wrong, but this encourages even more focus on gens. Really dumb perk.
Would rather they just disguise the hex totems better than give us yet another aura perk, but one that may keep survivors from spending time totem hunting.
-
New killer perk that discourages totem destruction will make gen times even worse. Really not sure WTH devs are thinking.
-
I would argue the opposite. I actually told my wife that I'm done with survivor. I only play it when she wants to, but I can't even do that anymore. The amount of toxicity and the level of camping and tunneling is out of control. I have zero enjoyment in any survivor match.
On the killer side, I find the suicide and DC rate to be higher than ever at this point. Since the DC penalties, I see a lot more 4-man SWF than I did before. I'm for the punishment, but not sure if it is having the effect we hoped for. Toxicity is also on the rise on the survivor side as well.
That said, I still find my killer matches to be much more enjoyable than survivor. I ran a dozen matches this past week with the wife. Got barely 200k bp, camped and tunneled like I owed money (not even including the slugging). Ran a dozen killer matches last night and got near a million BP. Faced 5 SWF 4-man groups. Got a 3k or more in 3 of them. Got my arse handed to me in one, and only a 1k in the other with 7 hooks and nearly a 35 minute match. Still got 60k bp with Chili and a black pip. The rest of my matches were pretty much systematic 4ks. So, out of 12 matches, only 2 were considered a loss, the others were easily wins. Much better, much less frustrating. The biggest problem was the level of suicides I had in some of those matches. I avoid tunneling if at all possible, and do not camp, so it was not toxic play that fueled suicides and DCs, but there were several.
-
I was for DC penalties at first, but I've noticed a massive increase in DC and suicide since they were put in. I chalked this up to frustration over the penalties at first, but I'm starting to think this is going to be the new norm. Much worse than before. Keep in mind, I'm probably the one of the more fair killers in the game. I will avoid tunneling if at all possible. If I pass by you and you were on the hook less than a minute ago, I'll likely move on and keep looking. At most, I'll down you and keep going. I avoid being a toxic killer because I want to play the game as if the other players are people too and I know how much it sucks to get tunneled out of the game in less than 3 minutes with no points.
Anyways, if I play like that and I'm hammered with suicides and DCs now, then I can only imagine what more toxic killers are seeing. I know I told my wife I'm done with survivor for a while. She has wanted to play more lately, but the level of camping, tunneling, and outright toxicity is through the roof right now. We had a killer who admitted his only goal was to get players to DC so they would get the penalty. This should not be a thing. Every match was a 2v1 and the killer did not care. We had suicides and DCs non-stop. I had enough after one night of that BS. Told her she is on her own.
She has yet to have a single match in the three days since where there was not a DC or suicide. Most of the time there are multiple. She was playing survivor and I killer last night. She played 14 matches. She was tunneled or camped in 10 of them, slugged in 2, and had a couple of fun Pig matches due to Booping the Snoot.
Myself, I had a dozen killer matches last night and had a suicide on first hook in 8 of them. Nothing special. Running Trapper or Pig and down the first person, hook, suicide. I was nowhere near the hook in each instance.
I say give it a month or so, if this does not change, get rid of the darn penalties. I want the old matches back.

Sabo got buffed.
It takes ~2.5 seconds to sabo a hook. Therefore, you can fully sabo a hook in the time it takes for a Killer to recover from an attack.
As for my personal opinion, I'm not sure if these changes are healthy.
Sabo does not last near as long though. And you can't 99 a hook and hit it later. This is not a buff, which is fine with me. I'm not sure how needed this was though. I ran into one sabo team in the last three months and I play several matches a night.
Sounds like a silly nerf IMO.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1102674#Comment_1102674
DS is stronger than it was, SC got nerfed, but it is still viable, plus you have bunch of other healing perks, "vault nerfs", that have been reverted some time after, hatch now spawns at 0 gens done, while survivors had to at least do 2 gens to spawn it.
Oh gosh, that almost sounds like survivor is not an easy brainless mode in this game.
You are smoking crack if you think DS is stronger than it was. DS could be used from the start, no prerequisite at all. There was no 1 hook to activate. So you could get DS 4 times before ever scoring your first hook.
Vault nerfs are still in the game. There was no slow vaulting before. You run next to the wall and fast vault through. They added a medium vault, which was reverted because it was too strong. Now there is slow and fast where there was once only fast, or vault.
Hatch was open at 3 gens and could not be closed. Hatch standoffs could last an hour. Now the whole hatch system is very killer sided, as well as EGC. It needs to stay that way and not revert back.
All healing got nerfed, not just SC. You are clearly a biased player who can't see the forest through the trees. I remember killer in those days and it took a lot more skill than now. But that does not fit into the whiney narrative on this forum, so you have to make yourself look silly by saying DS is stronger now. ROFL

Neither do killers. This game community is pure crap when it comes to having any level of sportsmanship or empathy. Ive seen it from both sides too.

Not in any way equivalent. Trapper trap can still be disabled, just like hag trap. Now it won't be destroyed. No way to destroy the Hag trap so she can't use it anymore.

Survivor nerfs never were as big as killer ones, and killers' buffs never were as big as survivor ones as well.
Not counting bugs that killers are suffering from, and that are in the game for a very long time, meanwhile when survivors suffer from a bug, it gets instantly fixed (survivor sound bug got fixed in like ~3 days, while killers suffer from the same sound bug for like 3 months, not saying this bug cames back literally every update).
Also killers never had as busted mechanics as survivors had/have (pallet vacuum, infinities, looping, 322523535353 second chance perks).
This is pure ignorance. Survivor nerfs have been very significant. The entire game changed 2 years ago with the DS, Healing and Vault nerfs. The slow vault massively changed chases. My life got a lot easier as killer due to that.
Not eating 4 DS in the start of the match added to no more self healing on the other side of the pallet and no more speed vaulting from the side of the window started a trend of regular 4k matches that still continues today.
Add the hatch changes to that and man life got easier. The whole EGC was a killer gift. One I very much appreciated. No more hatch stand off or end game immersed players for 30 minutes.

Legion is going to cry at the wall and tell it that it is oppressing them. Boom. Wasll falls down. Millenial angst at work. lol

Mis quoted the top comment here.
In reply to Heartbound. Why do we only have Survivors who think there's an app to get off the hook?
Older Survivors wouldn't be a bad idea for the game. People of any age can have arthritis or whatever. Characters have begun to lose their uniqueness recently and a lot of us aren't anywhere near sold by the backstory.
I thought BHVR were ramping up the lore but it just feels the exact same over and over again recycled to sell the "youthful and good looking" survivors.
Where is Grandma Dierdre or any other old characters, original or licenced it has been getting really boring getting the same style over and over again.
Agree.
I mean, if we are going to keep on the current route, can we at least get a 5'6" ascot-wearing hipster with a Starbucks cup and a Bernie T-Shirt and little man syndrome? That might get me to play survivor again just so I can watch him get slapped around and hooked.
-
I find the survivor role to be mostly unbearable. It is way more frustrating unless you run a 4 man SWF. Killers camp and tunnel way too much, other survivors are total potatoes, and the level of toxicity on both sides is nuts.
As killer, I dictate what happens on my side. Not a tunneling killer or a potato survivor. If it is a toxic SWF, I move on to the next game, which usually is not another 4 man. Though it takes more to succeed as killer than survivor, it is much less frustrating for me. I know others will disagree, but I can't help but feel that way.

So they can post a video about how fast gens are.

What are you talking about? I responded to someone who thinks posting names while belittling is not against forum rules. Told them to read the forum rules.
Thought the response was rather calm already. Did you read it in a way it was not written? Or are you just adding drama where there is none?

The point isn't whether or not camping is a good strategy or not, it's about telling Killers how they should play. I agree that most players play poorly, but no player has any inherent right to tell someone else how to play. It isn't the job of a Killer to make sure that everything they do satisfies the Survivor, especially when Survivors never consider if they're making the game fun for the Killer.
Since camping is dumb and ineffective, the Survivors that hate it just need to go watch some videos of good streamers, or record themselves so they can see their own mistakes, and get better at evading or looping the Killer. Then they would rise in ranks and not have to deal with it.
It is a two bladed sword when we talk about not telling people how to play. It goes for the toxic hit squad SWF group as well.
Personally, I'd rather see people play as if they were in the same room as the stranger. I'm more of a sportsman and I treat my opponent in a VIDEO GAME as if they are humans trying to have fun, just like I am. I don't expect that level of human decency online though. It is just not there when one hides behind a monitor.

With how fast gens pop, it is already really difficult for a Killer to catch any decent Survivor worth their salt. By the time a Killer gets their first hook there are usually 3 generators that have been completed. If a Killer has trouble with the first catch, why would they leave them only to get looped again and again? Unless the Killer is really good at mind games, the easier option would be to protect the hook and wait for the teammates. If they caught the Survivor super early into the match, like say 30 seconds from entering, then that is the fault of the survivor for getting caught. It would mean their teammates are probably stronger at looping, and it would make better sense to not waste time and get the weaker one out of the match faster. You say it is a bad strategy, but more often than not, when I play survivor, I see my teams rush the hook every time the Killer hooks someone.
If games were longer, I can see how toxic camping could be, but they go by way too fast. Low tier killers don't have many options, and Survivors have no right to dictate how a Killer player plays. Sure, blatant face-camping a survivor while slashing their hanging body is toxic, but you can't ask the developers to force Killers to stop playing certain strategy because a few people over do it.
The complaints of camping is overblown on the forums. I have over 500 hours in this game now, most of those hours was playing Survivor, and most of them with the most hated character P3 Claudette (Didn't know she was hated as much as she is), and I haven't been camped anywhere near as much as players are saying they are (Unless it happens at red ranks, I only made it to rank 5 and started playing killer more). Maybe 1 out of 6 games, and that is usually at the half way mark. If your 10 friends couldn't handle pvp in this game, then pvp doesn't suit them since camping happens throughout online gaming.
Camping is in control of the Survivors. You want to punish the Killer, don't rush hooks, learn how to take note of pallet and vault locations and get better at looping. You can't get camped if you don't get caught.
If the game fails, it isn't the fault of the survivors or killers, it fails because Behavior has failed at keeping the game fun.
I know it can be hard to hear this at times, but most of the killers on this forum are not very good. Seriously, most survivors are not either.
I play red ranks as Trapper mostly. I'm colorblind to the point that I can't see blood pools on any outdoor mape, nor can I see scratch Mark's on any map. I hunt by anticipation and learning survivor tendencies. I have zero problem getting 3-4k in 90% of my matches. I don't even consider myself to be very good compared to really good killers.
When I watch other killers who post their "gens are to fast" vids I can see upwards of 12 mistakes they make in the first 60 seconds of a match. Whether it is mi d gaming at the wrong time, chasing too long after the first hit on strong loops, yet hearing a nearby gen being repaired. Ignoring nearly complete gens in order to follow a survivor to a dead zone where no gens are, etc, etc.
I got good advice from a streamer once and decided to let myself learn. I got pummeled for more than a month, but started seeing changes in my matches. Shortened chases, a lot more snowball matches, etc.
Camping is flatly the dumbest plan if that is what you are doing from the start. It 100% depends on dumb play by survivors. I've found most killers I've experienced playiing that way are after salt. They don't care about pips, bp, just salt. If you are using camping as a main plan, start recording your matches and try critiquing your mistakes. You will find yourself doing mutch better without a weak plan.

Not really its cause the devs won't be bothered to add new stuff.
We don't have the population for new stuff. If they offered a new game mode, you'd sit in que forever because the merger player population would split between modes.

You’re only thinking about yourself. Camping makes the game un-fun for you, not the Killer. The killer may enjoy camping, especially if Survivors keep throwing themselves at the killer. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean it is bad or unenjoyable for others.
Why should the Killer, whose goal is to kill Survivors, care about making the game more fun for you? If you entered a match and saw a lit totem within the first 15 seconds, would you not cleanse it? Of course you would, it would most likely make your objective easier. You wouldn’t consider how the Killer would feel that you completely disabled one of their perks for the whole match, would you? No, you probably wouldn’t.
Are there rules in the game that require the Killer to leave the hook, or to chase Survivors and allow them to constantly loop them? Nope there are not. Killers are not your playthings where you get to dictate how they play. You do what you want in a match and they will do what they want.
Want a solution so you don’t have to deal with camping? Learn how to evade the killer! Learn how to loop better! Make yourself a less desirable target! If you get better at looping, you can waste a Killers time for most of a match.
See, this is part of the toxic process in this game. Sorry, but camping the whole match is toxic and a horrible plan considering it relies on the survivors to be dumb. If they are smart, they hit gens and move on.
I've seen you post before and you seem to be a nice person. It baffles me that you don't see how toxic and unhealthy camping is for the game. I know 10 people that I got to play who quit specifically because they were tired of being in a camper match so often.
Both sides have toxic behavior. Hardcore camping is one, and I don't support it at all. I think it takes a very selfish, and spiteful person to use that play style. Camping has its place, for sure, but from the first hook with no swarm or toxicity? No, just childish.
It is these types of things that keep thos game from growing its player base to the point that new modes can be put in. This game will forever linger on without seeing its potential due to the toxic play styles it permits and endorses.

Lately it's the only way to slow down games
You got 1 hooked survivor
and at least 1-2 survivors ready for the unhook
This makes it soo 3 out of 4 survivors are not doing their objective which is great
And also with the philosophy that "oh it's almost on the 2nd phase...might as well wait a little longer...oh it's almost over...might as well wait for it to finish it"
Or, you get smart survivors who ignore the hook and knock out 3 gens while you camp.

I think he means Head On. Eat the stun, they now have exhaustion and can't use other exhaustion perks, if they are running others. It is 3 seconds and not hard to recover from. I rarely have someone HO me where I don't get them down anyways.
