I’m afraid there is a better chance of Trapper becoming S-tier.
Yea when you start a thread putting survivors against killers and vice versa, its no surprise. You're part of the problem.
Both sides got some very big nerfs, stop acting like survivors didn't get hit with this update and you're the only one who is affected.
-
This is actually pretty accurate. The amount of people who are allergic to gens or it takes them 3-5m after the match has started, to even touch a gen, when they haven't even been chased, is very irritating.
I also cannot express how many people cannot last over 20 seconds in chase as soon as the match starts.
& then I have the rare games where everyone on my team is connected to a hivemind and we are all playing with the same mentality. Almost seems like were in VC calling things out but we just know what to do in every situation, who does a gen, who goes for a save, who takes their turn on hook to buy everyone else time, etc. Those games are great but rare.
As for the PTB, I don't like a lot of what is being rolled out but its not 100% hitting live yet since there is a ton of negative reception so we'll see what goes through and what doesn't. I will adapt either way.
-
They are missing a ton of features most other games have and its been over 5+ years. Its pretty..pathetic they haven't added in things to bridge the gap between SWF and solo. I mean, the fact we JUST got the new icon UI is a testament to how slow they are when it comes to game balance & health. At this rate, we'll have a lot of whats missing in 3-4+ years.

Just like the simple gesture of making a fist and raising the middle finger, meanwhile do that in my country (Germany) towards a cop and you can be fined for a thousand bugs. Just for a simple widely negatively viewed gesture. Mysterious.
Relating an in-game button in a video game to the middle finger in real life. Thats a new one.
Listen, if you want to be offended, go right on ahead. It means nothing to me and usually when someone teabags on me, its to distract me or take my attention away from what I should be focusing on. If its not teabagging, its something else. Too many people being sensitive and offended over a button.
Man, I wish I could go back to the early 2000s when no one was this sensitive and offended and cancel culture wasn't so blatant.
-
I teabag to get the killer to focus on me so I can try to snowball the match back in favor of my team.
Others teabag to be dicks.
We are not the same.
P.S don't take teabagging so seriously. Its literally just someone tapping their crouch button over and over. It offers no in-game advantage, it is purely an animation and that is all.

While I might agree on facecamping Bubba being boring to face, I refuse to believe you have 10+ minute queues
Believe it or not, people play in different regions across the world where que times can be sufferable. Much surprise, I know.
Edit: Respect to all the non-camping Bubbas. Truly. Even if I die in the end, its no doubt a better match. But they are rare. Just like Billys.
-
Well consider this.
If a youtuber/creator did a video on tips/tricks/guides/techs, etc. How many views do you think it'd get?
Now compare that to a clickbait drama/big topic you know a lot of people will click for, b/c it has to do with game balance & the future of the game the viewer is focused on (in this case, DBD).
There's a very big reason why they do what they do, its because its what works. Majority of players would click on the 'game is dying' video over the other.
Its the same thing that happens with other games, most recently its Diablo 4 since the release is coming up in less than 2 months.
Put yourself in the perspective of a content creator and it makes 100% sense. I'd do it too.
-
Kill everyone except them. Then hold the game as long as possible by camping hatch. If they come back and try to get hatch, close said hatch and proceed to slug them for the remainder of the match, until they bleed out.
Thats what I'd like to do in all honesty. But then again, I also don't care that much and while it sucks for the team, its also not my fault.
In reality, I'll just immediately hook them to gain some pressure and an advantage on the survivors. Aint wastin my time w/ that, lol.

Listening to the professional Hillbilly players is what caused Hillbilly to be insufferable to play as for any casual player. He is just too hard to play and only hardcore experts play him. Listen instead to the rest of the community who does not play him, ask them why they don't play him. Hillbilly is like Nurse in that regard, completely insufferable to play as except you get mediocre results for your sweat. bHVR could have given him quality of life, change the power. but that would not fly.
Leather face is a much more viable and open to other players kind of Killer, but you have to pay for him.
Like have you seen the gameplay vs a Good Hillbilly? they walking back and forth revving the chainsaw around the same loop for a min and then BOOM insta-down. Its super boring and Im glad I never see a Hillbilly nor have any want to play as them. Hillbilly needs a full rework of his Power and a reduction of addons that show too high a kill rate is a good solution while we wait. Make Hillbilly fun and easier to play instead of gatekeeping him hard.
I agree and disagree with some of your points.
The main point I disagree with is when you brought up the whole 'walk back and forth revving and then boom insta-down'. I don't think like this about that. Most people would be impressed or caught in shock from the Billy downing them in that way (I've literally seen a compilation of great Billy mains who did this against Twitch Streamers to see their reaction) and almost all of them were surprised, shocked, impressed, etc and none of them were salty or mad they just got downed.
Its definitely not boring. I love going against Hillbillys and so do so many others, b/c they're rare and killer interaction with them is insanely fun. Its the opposite of boring. You want boring, go against Legion or a Nurse.
I'm completely fine with Hillbilly requiring A LOT of skill and experience, albeit that should be rewarded by being a stronger killer. I think everyone can agree he could use changes that push him up the ladder and not further down. This current change to engravings spits in all those people's faces that put thousands of hours into him over the course of years, when the last good thing about him is about to be gutted.
I feel for all the Billy mains right now. It must also be frustrating seeing Blight go another update without his addons being looked at.
Hillbilly is 1 of the most fun killers to go against, I know a lot of people feel the same way. They are a rare endangered species that need to be protected.
-
Nah I'm good. They got plenty of money to 'fix stuff and make the game better'. They don't need my money for that. Plus they got that cosmetic cash flow comin in. They're fine.
& I damn well aint paying for a bad product for 'support'.
They make tons of mistakes, they're out of touch with the community and their game, they remove one problem and add 5 more,, they don't even listen to their own FW's for christ sake. They're one of the last companies I'd consider supporting.
No thank you.
-
My opinion and its fine if you disagree
- voice comms should be an option, not a necessity.
- it should be in the game by now. Its been 5+ years and pretty much every MP game has it. Doesn't mean you need to use it. Remember that.
- voice comms would bring the matches where people actually want to coordinate with other solos, near the level of a coordinated SWF.
- it'd make for some really fun & also hilarious matches. People would be able to soundboard or use voice changers, etc. Some of my best memories in this genre come from Friday the 13th and if you haven't played that...well you missed out cause it was epic.
- people ALWAYS ASSUME the worst when it comes to voice chat, particularly this game. When you have so many other games that use it and make it work (and yes, some of those games are toxic - OW, Valorant, Rainbow Six Siege, etc) but they also help a ton in regards to coordination and not every team you get is going to be a toxic group of people.
- Add a mute option for individuals, if someone does decide to start being an a**, just mute them and move on. Its just a game and you shouldn't have to put up with toxic people.
I'd love to see it on the PTR, give it a try at the very least.
This whole 'oh nOoOoOo VOICE CHAT BAD, TOXIC DBD COMMUNITY' is such a bad excuse. Its never even been tampered or experimented with. I'd get it if it had horrible results on the PTR but the fact is no one knows how good or bad it truly would be until its actually implemented.
Sucks they haven't added it in as an option. I don't care to group with others but a voice chat option would definitely be used by me as well as other solo survivors (who dont want to group up). I like winning with a team full of strangers. I like adapting and trying to play around people and their perks that I have no synergy or knowledge of. Voice chat would be a welcome change IMO.

If both players have Botany then the healing goes from 48 to 32 seconds. If they both have botany and killer has sloppy it goes from 60 to 40. Man botany is such a good perk next patch.
This is a nice point to bring up but its unrealistic. Most people aren't going to be running Botany. You'll see it on the casual/newer players who want to experiment or don't know much about perk strength or synergy. Good players/experienced survivors won't be bringing it most likely.
-
Whenever I face a Billy, regardless of how the match goes, I always tend to thank them in end-game chat just for the simple decision to play Billy and make killer interaction fun again. Sucks that BHVR is this out of touch with their own product. I would even bet that the 'feedback' they tend to fall back on when they say 'we heard your feedback so we are changing [insert] ' is complete and utter BS 99% of the time.
-
I can attest as a Feng I can be slightly selfish (in the sense that if you do dumb things or don't contribute as my teammate, I'm less inclined to want to help you out) but overall I'm very altruistic and a good sport. Even last night, had a match on Coldwind against a Wesker and saved a teammate at end-game who was on death hook. Wesker tried to dash into her and I waited around the corner right when he used his 2nd dash on her. If I was not there, she was dead. I gave 2 quick little tbags so he focuses on me and sure enough, he did. I died and my teammate got out. Got thanked in end-game chat and we all said gg.
Most Fengs I've come across operate like this, we also look out for fellow Fengs. Feng is good, Feng is lyfe.
-
Its been like this for awhile now. Everyone wants to be the victim while also being biased & not caring so. This patch didn't show anything new. It just caused more chaos.
-
This is the BHVR way.
-
BHVR really has no clue what they're doing. They listen to the casuals/newcomers more than anything else, even ignoring their own Fog Whisperers who have been playing the game since its birth.
I am not surprised in the slightest.
-
Agreed. No one but absolute casuals and new players will run it. There's no reason to run it now. They killed both the fun in using the perk as well as its strength. Chases are going to be even more boring now since there's less mindgaming now. They listened to the entitled bad players who made a big deal about it. Even killer mains like Otz, Hexy, OhTofu, etc have said that although its annoying to deal with, it isn't a game breaking perk. And they still decided to nerf it into the ground.
It was already a hit and miss (more often than not, I'd bet most people had a higher failure rate than success w/ it) and now its just...there's no point to bring it over Lithe or SB. Most people are turning to SB now or just going to take a break from the game. Lets just give all the bad players who wanted it nerfed, an even easier match to win now! Give them a speed boost too while you're at it, maybe throw in some wall hacks so they can see every survivor. Good luck to the very few that will try to use it, lol. BHVR hasn't known what to do in terms of game balance or new content for a long long time, IMO.
I'm interested to see how game population turns out after this. :)
-
Yea...that needs to be worked on more.
- Add an auto-fill checkmark option. No one wants to click a button 50 times, just to do the same thing an auto-fill system would accomplish.
- Instant bloodweb completion. We don't care to see what path in the bloodweb is taken, that is the whole point of it being automatic. Just turn everything that would be obtained, instantly red & move onto the next bloodweb.
- Add a prioritization option not just for perks but for items/addons as well.
- Add a 1-50 instant automation. A lot of people who want this QoL change don't want to sit through each bloodweb. We'd just like to prestige asap and continue on.
Overall, its good news at least. Just wish this came years ago.
-
Here's the thing; old DH was completely uncounterable, was used for guaranteed safety/distance in a horribly unbalanced state.
The amount of time you extend a chase by when you pull off a DH is warranted and earned now. A lot of killers (bad or biased, take your pick) will complain about this perk losing them a match but they won't see all the times DH isn't successful. Acting like 'waiting it out' extends chase time by a huge amount is laughable and silly, most people are not running auto DH scripts and will use it within the first few seconds of the killer reaching them if they aren't near anything to help them (window, pallet). There are PLENTY of people who play killer and while it may be 'annoying', it isn't game breaking or unbalanced like old DH or old Eruption & they know it.
I've realized the people who want this nerfed are just bad and/or incredibly biased. There's no objectivity with them and they don't really care if they show it. In another thread about this, one guy even stated 'well they nerfed Eruption, now they have to nerf DH'. Great reasoning /s.
-
The amount of people who get triggered beyond sanity by a person hitting their crouch over and over is...astounding.
-
HUD changes. Naisu. Even though I was perfectly fine w/o it and don't even think we need it. Its seriously the only thing I can think of.
-
Put this in and damn right I will do a lot more than just hum!

Nurse's chase music is awful and should be in the 'made in 5 seconds' category.

Using stealth to not get caught into killer hands because it's his primary role while survivors can use such option legally and that's called "STEALTHY" isn't holding the game hostage.
I don't understand the point of this thread.
Why make this thread when you're just going to disregard everyone's answer to you b/c it doesn't fit your narrative/support what you're saying? You got an answer from multiple people. You were holding the game hostage. Now whether you or most people get banned for it, is another story. I don't see or hear many people being banned for this as its pretty minor compared to a lot of other things. Regardless of how you feel about it, it is reportable & bannable. End of story. Movin on.
-
I've been playing this game for over 5 years and never once even contemplated joining the discord.
You'll be fine without it man.
-
This doesn't prove what you think it does.
-
Dead Hard does not need a nerf. It hasn't needed a nerf since its rework.
This is the classic 'well Eruption got nerfed, so DH should too'. Like have some objectivity for the game.
Eruption was completely uncounterable in solo play, which is the majority of players. It won you games you really should have lost or tied in. 1 perk that changes the outcome of the match that much w/ little to nothing survivors can do? Yea makes sense.
DH may extend a chase or get you safety but its counterable. There are workarounds, the perk doesn't just win you matches out of the blue. There is no guarantee to DH, its a very inconsistent perk but its great when it works.
I'd also argue DH takes more skill to pull off than ...hitting a gen and getting into a chase with someone who you know you'll down very quickly b/c lack of pallets. But thats neither here nor there.
My point is; Eruption deserved the gut. Just b/c you're angry about that doesn't = 'nerf DH then >:('.
-
Like others have said, other games are much worse.
Go play Valorant for a week. 10x worse than anything I've seen in DbD. Dota, LoL or even OW/R6S are great examples too.
Yea, lots of disgusting and slimey people in this community, but they exist in every game that is marked as 'competitive' and strokes your ego.
Hope you have better interactions in the future though, that sucks to deal with.
-
Lol no.
-
They won't release or provide us with complete statistics b/c
- it'd cause peope to get upset, start bashing the devs or the game's state
- it'd show everyone the full picture, which is most likely negative/not good
- if they do, they can't cater and select specific statistics anymore that fit their narrative to push
So yea, doubt that'll ever happen sadly.
-
..if you really can't tell the difference between old DH and this one, then either you're lying to yourself or painfully ignorant.
Old DH was completely uncounterable and used for safety/distance. There was no requirement of having to time the perk, you were invincible while using the perk, which is why everyone ran it. It was a guaranteed safety net.
Current DH may be irritating to deal with, but its not a gamebreaker. It doesn't stop a killer from winning a game if they are good. Its not a guaranteed health state or safety net anymore, there are times where you bring it and you get very little value from it. It's just annoying to deal with/assume everyone is running it (even when they aren't).
Its also one of the more fun perks to use, being able to actively interact with a killer mid-chase. Not a surprise why so many people run it.
-
Its not OP and doesn't require a nerf. Its incredibly conditional and like others said, it can go unused/have very little impact. Just like Adrenaline. The people calling for a nerf reminds me of the people calling for a nerf on Fogwise.
A lot of people in this community are quick to call something OP or weak, when it isn't. Remember when DH got nerfed and people thought the new DH sucked and all those threads popped up here claiming how weak it was? What a time.
This perk ain't anything serious to fret over. It will see some play but in no way is it going to be meta or brought every game like some other perks.
-
There needs to be lots of QoL changes.
Particularly a 'tutorial' mode but online so you can go against new players as both killer and survivor. This mode would only allow the new players to que up, for example any player with less than 50 hours played. And as they go on in the match, give them tooltips in the corner or a safe area of the screen, like advice on looping, efficiency, map awareness, perks, etc. A lot of people absorb that info in real time rather than after the match.
-
Just happy the incap is gone. That was what bothered most people. Curious to see what everyone starts running since they can't rely on Eruption anymore.
-
- Chris Walker from Outlast
- The Thing
- Predator
-
Leon is easily at the top for me, lol.
-
As others have pointed out already, what do you expect survivors to do? Just do gens? Why, when the game's already over and there's no chance of progressing gens if the killer doesn't let up (most do not)? The gens are bait for survivors, more like.
The goal for them is to survive, anyone with a brain isn't going to just hop on a gen knowing the killer is patrolling & will immediately get in chase/down you.
-
@ElodieSimp said:
So what are survivors supposed to do here? I've been told if two survivors are left and one gets downed the other needs to try to save the survivor even if the killer is camping the slugged team mate.
I've been reported supposedly for breaking DBD rules because I waited for an opportunity to save my team mate but the killer was constantly hovering around the body until they died.
Leave the person to be slugged (esp if they are on death hook anyways) and go for hatch/gates. Better to try and get someone out, albeit chances slim. Unless you brought Sole Survivor, Wake Up!, you likely won't be getting out via gates. If people report you for not going for a brainless save (essentially just telling the killer where you are and now he can kill you both), its just saltiness. You're not holding the game hostage since they're bleeding out, but even so, it'd be the killer's fault for not picking them up and hooking them for death.
Sometimes and most often, the killer is using your slugged mate as pure bait & going for a save is just securing 2 kills instead of only 1.
-
Been playing a lot less myself. Just stale matches. People killing themselves on hook, D/Cing, going down in 10 seconds, killer running Eruption/CoB in most matches, tunneling & camping. Whether or not its effective doesn't really matter when it pushes people to just put the game down & take a break.
Game is in a horrible state right now (ironic that I popped by Tru3tal3nt's stream today and he claimed Solo que is in the best spot its been in awhile, lol). Don't really care about SWFs since they are not the majority of the playerbase. Solo que is just hell atm. You aren't alone in the suffering, friend.

Oh ok cool, so the killer coming to me at the beginning of the match and only chasing me and tunneling and camping me makes me the weakest link? How are they gonna know if they dont chase anyone else except me? And I am fully aware of turning the game into a 3v1. Im a killer main, and I play killer for a team. I dont understand how me expressing frustration that killers who read my bio, and then go out of their way to kill me to make sure that I dont get progress towards my achievement makes me entitled. At no point did I ever say, they had to absolutely let me live. Never did I say that. All that I said is that it would be nice if they let me live. But you know what they did instead. The tunneled me out. They camp me out. Its not they arent letting me live. Its not that at all. Its that they go out of their way to make sure I dont get any progress. But cool, nice to know expressing my feelings and frustrations are entitlement.
Just b/c people focus on you first doesn't mean they read your bio. You're assuming they do and thats on you. You're also asking for too much attention, changing your name & bio to something like that is only going to hurt your chances.
In terms of it being 'nice to let you open gate and escape', it'd also be nice if you let them kill you. If you want to spin it like that. Even if they do read your bio, there's no problem making sure you don't get it or killing you first. They are under no obligation to you and they don't have to be nice. You can be frustrated all you want, I understand that part. But you do come off entitled by saying 'itd be nice if they let me live'. Yea every survivor wants to live. Thats their objective. It doesn't always happen and sometimes you get tunneled or camped out right away.
Just change your bio & username if its such an issue to you and you think people are spiting you for it. And when you do get camped & tunneled out, you won't have any excuse for it. Or start bringing an end-game build like Sole Survivor, Wake Up!, Adrenaline, Low Profile/Fixated, etc.
No one needs to or should let you live just b/c you're doing an achievement. You're setting yourself up for disappointment b/c you assume everyone should or 'be nice' to you. Progress or not. Shrug your shoulders, move on to the next. Go agane. Or step away from the game if you're that frustrated.
-
I don't really bother to care or check until after the match, if I even do. I don't really look them up anymore b/c the times that I have, 99% of the time they're not even live/online.
I did have a match 2 days ago on Dead Dawg Saloon against a Wraith TTV player (didnt know they were TTV until end-game chat) who camped and tunneled me (and only me) throughout the match. Ended up running him for the entire 5 gens and got out in the end with the 3 others who actually realized the situation and helped by cranking gens, while 1 person played distraction/bodyblocker. Used nearly every pallet on the map but was totally worth it. It was a satisfying match, knowing this guy got denied so badly.
& guess what, I still forgot to check his bio/look his name up on Twitch, lol. Woulda been funny to see his Pov though and what he was thinking/saying.
But yea in general, I don't really care.
-
I mean..I get it but you're also very entitled. Camping/tunneling is something a lot of killers do, regardless if they know or don't know you're trying to do an achievement. Mainly because turning a match into a 3v1 ASAP is very important for killer. You'd probably make more progress in the achievement with a regular name and nothing in your bio.
You shouldn't act like they have a vendetta against you just b/c they target you. Maybe they thought you were the weakest link based on your looping/pathing?
Yea it sucks when someone gets in the way of an achievement you're hunting, but thats just the game. People want to 3k/4k, just like you want to escape 20 times on RPD. Their goal is to kill you, not let you live.
-
Nah its pretty pointless to me and I too, just want a normal game where the killer tries, the survivor try.
Its incredibly boring when all a Pig does is go around snorting and wanting boops. Its not funny, its not fun and I genuinely just want the match over with the fastest. So whenever I come across a Pig doing that, I just slam gens, open gates and leave immediately.
I treat them like I would an AFK killer. Can't really do much to +pip, as much as you try. Just open gates, take the depip or black pip & move on asap.
-
A few days ago, I asked Otz about his opinion on Eruption. Mainly b/c he's considered to be a very good killer (amongst the best and most knowledgable) and often gives very fair/explained takes.
Here's his reply -

When you're incapacitated, you could always run to another gen or do something else until the timer runs out. Survivors could also improve their chasing a lot more than getting downed by the killer in 1 second.
This perk also has a cooldown of 30 seconds and the killer must kick the generator or it won't work. It's easily to deal with it not much like Dead Hard.
-
The Myers in that case. A survivor hiding in a locker and a Myers standing right outside of it, can't progress the game w/o coming out and just accepting death. When their goal is to survive.
A Myers can progress a match by opening the locker and killing the survivor but aren't because of an achievement or just b/c they want to get the mori. Their goal is to kill, so kill. The obligation falls on them, not the survivor just doing what they can to survive.
-
Well I got nothing positive to say about it, so I'll just leave it at that lol.
-
Agreed. He's definitely one of, if not the most fun killer to go against. I always respect and give props to any Billy I come across (incl the one I went against yesterday). The chases are always fun. Whether you're a good Billy player or a bad one, it doesn't really matter to me. Its a refreshing change from Blights, Nurses, Huntresses, Weskers & the normal selected variety we all see.
S/o to all the people who give him a try or are insanely good with him and bring in some awesome and scary builds.
Was on Rotten Fields the other week against a Billy running Iridescent Brick (at least I think it was, didn't stay to end game chat sadly to check) coupled with Hex: Plaything. So everyone had to be constantly weary of where he was or coming from. Corn fields played a huge part in favor for him, so we were all tip toeing around since he was able to show up in a split second with no terror radius. We all died but it was a very close game, and one of the more & fun matches I can think of in a good while.
-
I find that perspective is very different from killer to survivor. Both sides I play.
I played a match on Crow as survivor, versus Clown. Did 3 gens while my teammates all got in chase. I saved 2 of them, and we were down to 1 gen. But 2 of my teammates had died already while I hadn't been chased once because killer stayed on 1 side of the map and focused on the others. No gen defense or even terror radius near me. Just stayed on the side by shack.
I start working on the last generator, Claudette comes over to me injured and motions for a heal, I say no lets get this gen progress started in hopes of 1 of us getting out. Terror radius starts so I get off the gen and proceed to start running through the main building, Claudette following me, trying to alert or get the killer after me. Was clear she was mad at me for not healing but I wanted to grab chase while she stayed on the gen. Again, trying to focus on 1 of us getting out whether it was me or her. She didn't stop following me and as I got to a doorway, I decided to stop and block it. Killer shows up right at that moment, sees me blocking the doorway, downs her, chases me, hooks me eventually, and then gives her hatch.
To me it was odd, since I was the one progressing the match or trying to play it out. But the killer showed up to only see me blocking doorway so in his eyes, I was the bad guy.
Anyways, I try to always get gate as survivor. I'll accept hatch if it was very clearly not a fun game for the killer or I and they insist. But in those matches, I usually stop caring about getting out or being hooked. Most killers aren't going to be nice or considerate, better to just accept that and not think too much bout it.
As a killer, I do give hatch but its rare. I typically try to give it to someone who played well, tried their best, didn't give up & just had a lousy team. If its a good game though where everyone is playing well and I manage to kill 3, I will usually kill/hook the final survivor as well just because it was 'earned' IMO.
But again, perspective is very different survivor vs killer. Where I might think someone did very little, they might have been the ones who progressed the match and been the reason why the match even got to the point it did. Sometimes hard to judge, but I just make my best call and go with my gut feeling.
