I don't even need new meta level perks on survivor, I just want them useful. I'm surprised fogwise even launched with no changes, considering the amount of fear mongering people did about it.
-
That would just result in only a few killers and survivors being picked.
-
You don't see how nerfing mostly gen regression on killer side with no buffs to anything would be bad?
Some of the meta perks on survivor are exhaustion perks so how would you even go about nerfing those? Kindred is meta too, the most important info perk for solo q, not to mention off the record being the only good anti tunnel perk.
I wouldn't mind perk nerfs, if it came with some hefty basekit changes, but just a bunch of nerfs would make things worse for both sides.

Do another meta shake up and nerf every single meta perk (both killer and survivor) but this time DON'T buff anything and see how it goes.
I can already see how this goes. Badly.
-
As long as people continue to run it with call of brine and overcharge, and the incapacitated effect remains 25 seconds, people will continue to complain about it.
-
Just use a broken key, nobody gets angry over keys anymore.

Mandy already commented what she knew about bhvr's decision to start limited time skins. As for the knight, they said they want to give him a couple of months to get a clearer picture of his performance to determine whether he needs buffs. The next hot fix we'll be receiving won't be till January, so don't expect any knight buffs any time soon.

DBD when accounting for all platforms has around 100k daily players. I'm sure DBD will be fine. Can't expect a game with no different game modes, and the same gameplay loop since launch to have infinite growth potential the same way fps games and hero shooters can.
-
Yeah in two years.
-
What do you expect the mods to do about this decision? If Bhvr execs demanded they started doing fomo there's nothing they could do about it. Take your grievances to bhvr not the moderators.
-
It is. Those green rarity skins were supposed to launch with the Artist in the store but were withheld to being prime rewards. Same with haddies green rarity skins. Now her Christmas sweater will be limited time as well. The five haddie mains are on life support as most of her cosmetics are becoming limited.
I have no clue if they'll ever come to the store either. Technically speaking prime exclusives are supposed to be exclusive new content. But plagues rift outfit wasn't new content. So who knows.
-
"Voting with your wallet" won't work if this move is to target whales within the DBD community.
-
They are coming to the point where perks are going to have a lot of overlap. But I agree with the other person that said that any perk that takes away a hook state or a completed gen should never be a thing. I prefer to not have any more gen speed perks, so far we haven't had a new gen regression perk and would prefer to keep it that way. Gen kick meta doesn't need anymore obnoxious addictions.
-
Even if you or I don't fall for fomo, Fomo still affects everyone. The gaming industry is notorious for the ridiculous amounts of whales willing to spend anywhere from hundred to thousands of dollars on stuff like cosmetics. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if DBD had a sizable amount of whales, it's why certain survivors get more cosmetics than others. And it's because of this games start introducing these ######### monetization styles just so they can make more money from these types, and now everyone else is forced to deal with it as well.
-
Any way to get to the higher ups? Because I feel like that's the only way to get results. Yelling at the devs won't accomplish much since it most likely wasn't their decision.
-
I wouldn't have cared if it was just new cosmetics but making older cosmetics time limited is stupid. I'm expecting the blighted collection to be limited time too once Halloween comes back around.
-
I'm going to assume this was a decision made by the higher ups at bhvr, so unless the community blows up over this, nothing can be done.
-
Them doing this right when Ada and Rebecca get their ugly sweaters. Oh they're sick for this.

Actually, I stand corrected.

They're now taking away older outfits which previously weren't even time limited. Image source.
What the actual #########, BHVR?
What the hell bhvr....
-
Well then. Guess l'll know what to expect for the new years event.
-
Honestly I only like Mikeala's and Yun-jins. Kate looks way too gaudy for me, and Meg well she's meg.
-
Apparently this year the killers will be able to use the snowmen as well. Let the tomfoolery begin!
-
So I'm going to assume this is going to be regular occurrence with event cosmetics huh.
-
As long as dead hard can be used on demand it will always be picked. Other exhaustion perks are used automatically if the conditions are met. Lithe activates automatically when vaulting a window. Sprint burst activates when running. Balanced landing when you drop down from a height, etc. It's why I think an exhaustion perk that activates on flashlight blinds would be very popular.
-
Having more than two gen speed perks on top of toolboxes is overkill. Everyone keeps trying to convince me survivors are running hyperfocus+ stakeout as often as prove thyself, but I don't see it. It's all a sea of prove thyselves.

I completed 85 a couple weeks ago. Deep rift ain't deep enough.
Eh, give it time. Bhvr will make it 90+ tiers soon enough lol.
To answer op I've never really had problems trying to complete the rift. DBD's battlepass is extremely forgiving, at least compared to other games (stares at overwatch). I'm on level 76 right now.
-
Yes actually. Flashlights did need a small buff.
-
When did they ever care about it? "Nobody is responsible for anyone's fun" is all I hear.
-
The bad:
Killer is a medicore buggy mess. Needs some serious buffs.
Map is..well think mother's dwelling but If there were pallets everywhere. Atmosphere is good though.
The good:
Perks are solid all around. Outside of one imo.
The new survivor is cool. Will always welcome more shirtless fanservice.

I am still really confused on BHVRS balancing approach to nerfing out of line perks. Dead Hard and Circle of healing both were touched in the tiniest ways possible and are still both very much meta. Meanwhile perks like ruin and thanat got entirely dumpstered.
I wouldn't call what they did to dead hard and COH "a tiny nerf" at all. If anything it just proves how even more busted they were before their nerfs. COH used to have a bigger radius and it used to give a 100% heal speed, so if two people used COH close enough to overlap, people would get a 200% self heal speed. Eventually they had to nerf the radius, and then nerfed the heal speed to 50%. Boons also didn't have a bless speed penalty on hexes. Dead hard went from having i-frames to a small window of giving endurance. It used to give one second of endurance on the PTB before they nerfed it to .5 seconds on live. It was more like a rework than a pure nerf.
-
I feel like it's the size of mother's dwelling with the same amount of pallets as the game. I can also see the killer from a mile away. This map is a survivors dream come true and a killers worst nightmare. If they were going to make a map this unbalanced the least they could have done was give us a cool castle map.
-
David and dredge we're chosen for the winter event tome. So I don't think they will tack on meg as well. Plus, she's receiving a store cosmetic at the same time and wouldn't be fair to other survivors for her to receive double cosmetics.
-
If you use it before a gen is completed, can that energy be stored into a new generator? Or do you lose tokens automatically if the generator is completed?
-
I don't think the info needs to be taken away, but I would love a perk that would make the loud noise/unhook notification delayed by a few seconds or even appear somewhere else on the map. Red herring could be reworked to do that.
-
When's the last time we had an overly fanservice-y skin anyway? Also you act like this will be his only skin he'll ever receive.
-
I think it's fine. There being comeback mechanics in the form of perks is fine.
-
Why do people act like eruption requires so much set up to work? Oh no, a perk requires me to a kick a gen when were in a gen kick meta AND get a down?! Impossible!
-
I mean your not contributing to helping queue times by locking yourself out from the rest of the playerbase so.. duh you weren't going to get matchmaking incentives.
-
Well yeah. As long as the gameplay loop stays the same, the meta will always be gen regression perks on killer and anti tunnel/camp/gen rush perks on survivor. To change that, the game would need a massive overhaul which isn't something we can expect for a long time (assuming DBD even lasts another couple years).
-
I just don't think the incapacitated status effect should be applied as easily as it does for how long it lasts really. Buff the gen regression to 15% and lower the incapacitated back down. Being unable to do anything (not even heal, open chests, etc) should not last for 30 seconds.

@MeltingPenguins said:
I'm more worried at the perks going through mostly unchanged. because, lbr, as they are all six new perks have such an absurd potential for being just used to be toxic on either side.
I'm kinda glad about that because I'm tired of bhvr nerfing semi useful perks before they hit live (still annoyed by the parental guidance nerf to this day). I am surprised about fogwise and nowhere to hide not getting any changes, but they do have counters so meh.
-
Vhs is dead because they never marketed themselves after they close their beta for security reasons, and the monster experience was boring.
-
I don't know why the devs felt the need to buff a perk with the incapacitated status effect by....buffing the incapacitated part. There's a reason why, like hindered, the incapacitated effect is rare and usually doesn't last long. Rendering someone useless and unable to progress the match is really powerful.
-
The basekit unbreakable isn't confirmed to go live. The basekit BT was given because bhvr was going to nerf the only good anti tunnel perk in the game for survivors. Killers need to be buffed by a case by case basis, not given basekit perks.
-
It was an overnerf imo. But with some exhaustion perks it's still usable. Just don't use it with sprint burst lol.
-
Do killers really need a basekit perk? Only reason survivors received basekit BT was because bhvr was about to nerf the one significant anti tunnel perk survivors had. And like Mandy said basekit unbreakable isn't guaranteed to be a thing (thankfully).
On the killer side, I just want the basekit gen kick regression on killer buffed some more. Killer has so many gen regression perks, that making even corrupt basekit would be a bit problematic. We'd essentially have a 5 gen slowdown meta.
-
Bhvr would probably be willing to do more historical chapters but only if they can somehow still dress the survivor up in modern clothes. Bhvr wants their survivors to sell skins and you don't have much cosmetic diversity in an ancient mesopotamian survivor. Look at plague, it feels like bhvr doesn't know what kind of cosmetics to give her, and she's a killer.

Is this a joke? Despite being in the horror genre, we do not have a single big breasted blonde in the entire roster.
This company is super prudish. It is far from sex appeal.
Kate comes close to be fair. She looks the part of the blonde bimbo that gets shanked in a slasher film first.
-
I'm just surprised they didn't make it deactivate during endgame while they were at it. It's stupid that they nerfed it to hook instance rather than per hook stage imo.
But hey, one anti camping perk is better than none.
-
They shouldn't have buffed it in the first place, and if they wanted to buff it, they should've just added it effecting heal speeds back.
