My third match on the Decimated Borgo was with Billy and I was pretty much just chilling and then experienced what you have described OP. The Nea was predropping pallets like hot potatoes and they still had like 5-6 left before they were all out. Granted, I didn't bring any passive slowdown and I never stopped chasing her because I was fascinated to see just how god awful that map is but ever since then, I just accept the L like it's Eerie, Game, Garden of Pain etc.
Lol Shattered Square is absolutely ridiculous. a million god pallets five feet from each other and you can see the killer from a mile away. It blows my mind that these new maps even make it to live servers like this but every new/reworked map has been ridiculous. Like I can't stand the new Haddonfield for example. God windows everywhere that are zero fun to play against
-
I want to play on Shattered Square! There's a god pallet every five feet and you can see the killer from a mile away for maximum holding W! Can't catch me!!!

People get bored of sitting on a gen pressing M1.
I'm pretty sure this is how bully squads are born. Once you get to a certain skill and knowledge level as survivor, playing in a SWF makes the game braindead easy to wipe the floor with the killer, so people start getting their jollies trying to make the game as miserable as possible for the other person rather than just playing a different game like a normal human
-
Off to a good start tonight
Plague Badham only Plaything for slowdown - 1k
Billy Rancid Abbatoir - Pop for slowdown- 0k
Nemesis - shattered square - deadlock no way out corrupt - 0k
-
Most killers are only playable with CoB+Eruption+Overcharge+Nowhere to Hide unless someone on the survivor team is cleansing dulls or hiding in the terror radius all game for a challenge. That's not good at all
-
Yeah the efficiency is insane now. Every game feels like playing against 4 man sweat squad. Gens are absolutely flying and then in the end game screen I'm seeing 2 Kindreds and a Bond in addition to the 4 Dead Hards and 3 Windows of Opportunity. You pretty much need to play accepting that you're just going to lose more often than not because the game favors survivor so much or just quit until they give us 1% faster pallet breaking six months from now

I did end up reporting their channel, but I can't find the vod anywhere
Twitch should still be able to access evidence even without one. I reported someone on Twitch that was streaming themselves hacking in DbD. There was no VOD and they were still banned within a day
-
Yeah the efficiency is insane now. You basically have no shot unless you're an extremely good killer player running a meta CoB+Eruption+Nowhere to Hide build. The ridiculously safe maps, extremely strong Medkits, gen efficiency, and Dead Hard are all culminating to make killer the most miserable that I can remember it being since CoH first came out. Done with the killer role until we see what buff they give killers 6 months from now
-
Eyrie of Crows isn't too bad now. Shattered Square is the new map offering I'm seeing every other game. You can see the killer a mile away to hold W and there's god pallets every 2 meters. Got sent there 3 times tonight and it pretty much made me quit the killer role permanently
-
Midwich has the highest kill rate because the doors are static and easy to patrol in the EGC so the lone survivor never gets out after hatch is closed
-
The worst part about it is having to play Demo against 3 - 4 DHs every lobby. He sucks now
-
Good post OP, I agree with you. I was getting backfilled a lot into lobbies that killers dodged. Now if I join a lobby and people are already loaded in and ready, that's an instant dodge for me

Personally? I don't care about kill rates. I care about gen speeds. It's easy to camp someone in the endgame and turn that into a 3k. Those are kills.. What's more stressful is when five million gens pop in your first chase.
That was my experience tonight. Felt radically different before the update. I played Clown/Nemesis/Dredge/Pig. 4 games and the best I did was 2k on Nemesis. 2 games had 3 gens total already done shortly after first down and that was after dumping the first chase after breaking 2 pallets and survivor was running to too strong of an area. Then interrupted a diff survivor, took one pallet and a short chase to down them, 3 gens gone + like 40% on the 4th one. Absolutely insane. This was with multiple kindreds in lobby so it had to be solo teams.
-
Where are these players that are just clueless on what to do with the information? This game has been out for six years and there's endless amounts of content teaching you every tech, trick, op perk and item combination, etc. There aren't that many weak players to drag kill rates down. If they got rid of tome challenges, the gens would be done in 4 mins every game. If anything, kill rates are artificially inflated because of people killing themselves on first hook or people killing themselves in end game trying to save someone. A killer that turns a guaranteed 0k/1k if survivors bailed into a 3k because survivors refused to leave someone didn't make the game anymore fun/fair for him
-
Just don't run to main building! Please ignore that it's accessible anywhere on the map
-
@foods said:
they make you play vs swf every game so now we wait 5 years for them to buff killer with some 2% kicking speed buff
Yeah I can already tell this is going to be awful for the next 6 months. Every game feels like 4 man SWF efficiency. No more getting lots of gen regression, no getting extra time cause multiple people run for saves, nothing. This game is not balanced for hyper efficiency, killers just get dunked on
-
######### sucks. Played two games with low tier killers and 3 gens done at first down and the chases didn't take THAT long (3 pallets) with the next two shortly after. Multiple kindreds each lobby. Can't wait for the 2 seconds they'll add to gen times six months from now
-
I didn't think Deep Wound was annoying or bothersome at all judging by how many survivors literally chase me right off hook to block me and get deep wounded
-
If they showed that info, then the guy in the 4 man can't lie and go "I wAs SoLo" in end game chat
-
This perk is OP and it's not just noobs using it lol. I'm seeing 3+ WoOs a lobby on tryhard teams. Every single time I have to abandon chase because there's a disgusting setup on that map that the survivor is abusing, lo and behold to no surprise ever, they have Windows of Opportunity. Tired of how many perks just play the game for you on survivor side
-
Don't worry my friend, we'll get 0.1% faster pallet breaking six months now as compensation for the increased efficiency
-
Couldn't care less what high level SWF players have to say about how Eruption is unfair and still works on SWF. They just want to 4-man escape every game. Comp Nurses get 2 hooks on Hens team and she needs to be gutted though. These teams want to 0 hook every killer each game
-
After reading this post, this does seem problematic. I hope BHVR addresses this inequality.
-
Because it's funny to troll with some Bubba
-
Lol the perk even tells the survivor that it's active. I would absolutely love a notification that a survivor has Dead Hard or Unbreakable
-
I think it's funny. It's cool to chill out after a couple sweaty games to troll with some Bubba
-
New DH basically ruins every killer with a range attack for us console gamers except Slinger and even then people just hold W in the opposite direction as soon as they hear your giant TR. You'll take an eternity to get in range
-
If they get tormented and they haven't been hooked yet you want to:
Hook -> tunnel -> cage (avoid DS flashlight saves sabos bodyblocks) -> tunnel -> hook -> out of the game
-
Circle of Healing is fine now because it's already been nerfed twice!!!
-
I think the whole us vs. them divide and people self-sorting themselves into their respective content creator communities where they can rage about the other side or how something is busted favoring the other side is part of the appeal of this game lol. Same reason why people form echo chambers on Reddit or whatever. They love to have their own opinions echoed back to them
-
Yes to both
-
They're crutching hard on Windows of Opportunity. It's playing the game for them. Perk badly needs to be nerfed
-
Garden of Joy is slightly worse than Cowshed. The gameplay loop is exceptionally boring on Garden because anytime you hit a survivor they just immediately beeline to the infinite in the main building. It basically just ends up being a 3 gen map since that's the only way you can play it and then survivors cry about how BoRiNg AnD UnFuN killers are!
-
Boring killers should just play in a fun manner and chase after that guy who's holding W directly to the infinite in the Garden of Joy main building while the 3 gen is getting worked on!

Not sure where all these unwinnable 3 gen matches are but playing literally 6-8 hours a day I’ve yet to really ever see them. More often than not it’s a skill issue. Just regression perks isn’t winning them the game with a 3 gen and multiple eruption procs means the survivors are getting downed a lot, ie getting outplayed a lot. They also had to mess up in the first place letting the 3 gen happen to begin with anyway.
This. It's not that strong. Survivors just miss the days of the game being so easy you could troll with no fear in front of the killer with old Dead Hard, Iron Will, and DS and still have time to do all the gens and teabag at the exit gates in the killer's face
-
There's a few different reasons.
- It's a six year old game so there aren't as many noobs. Most players are veterans
- The matchmaking prioritizes queue times over an equal match. It doesn't want you to wait forever for an equal match, so it's going to shove you with players that outskill you to get you a game if it can't find anybody at your MMR. Also, if someone joins a lobby and sees they're a 10,000 hour SWF and immediately leaves, the system spazzes out and just finds the next killer available (this happens to me all the time on console). You can kind of avoid this if you join your lobby and all 4 players were loaded in before you.
- The game is terribly unbalanced at higher levels, so if you get matched against a team of people that know what they're doing on the survivor end and know how to stack everything in their favor, you're just going to get dunked on and that's it. There's little room for making any mistakes and your MMR won't even go down much as "compensation" for the mismatch because the game expects you to lose to them anyways. You'll also depip lol

Dried Cherry Blossom is important for accessibility reasons

How about we stop whataboutism? Stay on topic.
There's already 9,000,000 Eruption topics. Any Circle of Healing topic that gets made is drowned out by "It'S AlReAdY BeEn NeRfEd!" even though one of the nerfs amount to it taking a whopping 1.5 seconds longer to heal
-
If you want BHVR to killswitch perks for balance reasons, let's start with Circle of Healing that also can't reliably be countered or gotten rid of at all and has been destroying the game since its inception. It's way worse than Eruption in every way
-
It used to be the default that you could see the killer's perks as soon as you died, it was abused by SWF, and it was eventually changed. They aren't going to bring it back
-
How do you know they were targeting you for being SWF? Steam profiles? All wearing Dwelf cosmetics? Matching names? How do you know they wouldn't have just camped and tunneled a bunch of solos? Were you "goofing off" in a way that's extremely annoying for the killer, like repeatedly running them into Head On stuns or Boil Over/Sabo with map/hook offering?
-

It's hilarious. Survivors:
- Bring 4 second chance perks
- BNPs
- Genrush to hell
- Bodyblock
- And run in SWFs with voice comms
But Killers are STILL supposed to:
- Avoid tunneling, even if bodyblocked
- Avoid slugging, even if someone is waiting nearby to save
- Avoid camping, even if someone is waiting nearby to save
- Don't use perks that 'reward failure' (NoED)
- Make sure you 12 hook!
- Don't use META 'Because it might change, and you're going to have a hard time then!'
- Play off META because 'Playing against the same 4 perks is BORING for Survivors!'
- 'Think of OUR fun!'
- And basically, play sub-optimally because Survivors demand it in the name of 'Our fun!'
There's a reason I just play however I want, and it's because Survivors will assume I'm the villain no matter what, so why should I ever try to make them happy?
I've had matches where 1 or 2 people DC, so I let Survivors farm, only for them to suddenly sweat once all 5 gens pop, and then INSULT ME in the endgame chat. As if they would have gotten those gens done without me GIVING it to them!
So yeah; Stop caring what Survivors think. Camp, slug, and tunnel. Because Survivors will try their hardest to win, and so can Killers.
Awesome post, 100% correct. Your only reward for playing that way is getting teabagged in the exit gates and told gg ez. If you're gonna get BMed anyways, you might as well tunnel and camp since you'll win more often
-
Yeah this happens like 90% of the time when someone unhooks in my face. Got to block the killer from not tunneling instead of you know getting away from the hook
-
Sunk cost fallacy is a big part. I've spent a ton of money on cosmetics and DLC. The grind for all the perks and everything is done but I like making slow incremental progress towards p100 on everyone I play. I sometimes SWF with a couple of friends and that's pretty fun. We aren't very good survivors and usually play against average to below average killers so the games are usually pretty close. I'm a hard killer main and now the games require so much focus that I can't play more than like an hour of killer before I go play a different game because of the stress. Killer overall is a fun gameplay loop there's just not a lot of room for error if you get matched against good opposition which is stressful. Also the more you get better and more you know about the game the worse it starts to feel to lose as killer especially when getting BMed
-
The best is when you're using Tombstone and you jump out and pop your T3 and kill a survivor that you hadn't even stalked at all up to that point lol. All the other survivors fed you your stalk. I saw Hexy do that to a guy whose display name was "I hate this game" and I was dying laughing
-
Why do you keep saying Stridor was the counter to Iron Will? They changed it so that Stridor specifically couldn't counter Iron Will anymore. It made Spirit very unplayable when Iron Will was hard meta.
-
They're desperately going on minute 40 of holding their 3 gen

You couldn't be more wrong. The better the survivors are, the more likely you'll lose unless you can make it a 3v1 ASAP.
If you watch any comp DBD, there's tunneling is pretty much every game. Why are the best killers in the world tunneling if it's not the most efficient way to play?
They're just no skill killers! A REAL skilled killer can 12 hook without camping/tunneling no matter what!!!
-
Putting aside whether the perk needs to be nerfed or not, I'm not a fan of the argument that it needs to be nerfed because of the incapacitated status effect. I don't care if not being able to do anything except unhook and run is "boring" or "unfun" for the survivor. Killer gameplay involves getting stunned constantly over and over during a trial. Victor eats a DS every time he gets a down, it takes forever to ADS as Deathslinger, Pyramid Head's power is intentionally made clunky and slow as hell, Blast Mine stun lasts forever, Wraith gets stunned for an eternity getting hit by a pallet when cloaked or getting lightburned, Trickster takes 8,000 years to put his knives away and kick a pallet and the survivor is halfway across the map as a result. Finally, add up all the time the killer has to spend doing nothing while they wait out stupid ass Dead Hard
-
I usually just avoid chasing any P100 or other high prestige players until they're out in the open rescuing. P100s have Dead Hard 95% of the time, so you know the chase is going to go forever. I definitely don't try and tunnel them or chase them forever at the beginning of the match, that seems dumb. If I have to tunnel, I'm definitely hitting them as soon as their feet hit the ground off that hook because of Dead Hard. You're better off rolling the dice on the lower prestige though IMO
