Why are they next to you? =]
Usually its the end of the game and there's a gen near the hook because I play ghost face and go for grabs. Also I disconnect from chases a lot as ghostface so I can keep pressure and ds surprises me. But eh ds is ds and I'm not gonna run noed and ruin the survivors fun.

Early game doesn't exist and we have another great example of this that can't be refuted by "but they played badly" or "the killer's perks suck"
Take a look at this recent video from true:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9LkaTt50Ic
Movement control in the match starts at about 5 seconds, so every timestamp is 5 seconds higher than the actual time in the game.
The match starts and he immediately runs to the other side of the map where the survivors likely are.
At 26 seconds in the video, he hears a gen being worked on
At 28 seconds, he spots the scratch marks
At 30 seconds he spots the survivor.
At 34 seconds, he makes a bad read, but the survivor plays badly and throws the pallet anyway.
At 37 seconds, he breaks the pallet, while the survivor runs to the harvester.
At 50 seconds, he does harvester tech, and lands a hit. The survivor holds w.
At 1 minute, 10 seconds, he catches up to the survivor and starts a chase.
At 1 minute, 15 seconds, he successfully mindgames the survivor and tries to bait the dead hard, but it doesn't come
At 1 minute, 18 seconds, he downs the survivor.
At 1 minute, 22 seconds, he picks up the survivor.
At 1 minute, 28 seconds, 1 gen pops.
At 1 minute, 32 seconds, he hooks the survivor, he runs over to the nearby gen that was completed and another in the field.
At 1 minute, 39 seconds, a second gen pops.
At 1 minute, 43 seconds, a third gen pops.
This goes with the thing i have been saying for months now about this game's problem with early game. The math doesn't add up.
21 seconds to find the first survivor and start a chase
24 seconds to land the first hit after making a 1 bad read and breaking a pallet.
20 seconds to catch up to the survivor to start a second chase.
8 seconds on a successful read to down the survivor.
4 seconds for attack cooldown and to pickup survivor.
10 seconds to hook a survivor.
21 + 24 + 20 + 8 + 4 + 10 = 87 seconds. Enough time for 3 gens if all the survivors hopped on a gen as soon as the match started.
This was not played badly. True played very well.
He found the first survivor almost as early as he possibly could have at the second gen he checked.
He made one bad read for the first chase that only added a few seconds since the survivor threw the pallet anyway (if the survivor played well they could have easily extended the chase an extra 15-20 seconds before using the pallet).
He made one great read for the second on that made the chase end in a couple of seconds.
At this point, the game goes downhill from here. True holds his own because he has like 5k hours in this game so of course he is going to do well, but most of the survivors end up escaping regardless.
I like your breakdown but true highlights the problem here instantly. He states that the build has zero gen pressure. He knows it isn't a good build and that he's likely to lose. The problem with saying gens need to be nerfed or fixed is that if they balanced around zero slowdown perks like true has in this build. That would make this game a nightmare to play if you had a spirit or nurse with all slowdown perks. Pyramid also isn't S tier so there's no reason to not run slowdown.

lol because 70% of killers are bad.
How hard is it to play more aware? If there's an obsession, you have to change your play style.
It doesn't need a nerf,
- No one forces you to go for the unhooked survivor.
- No one forces you to open that locker.
- No one forces you to pick up the unhooked survivor.
Believe it or not, there are 4 survivors on the trial, and those big glowy Red generators in the distance are their objective.
Go patrol.
I 100% agree with you there my only real problem with ds is when a survivor gets unhooked and instantly gets on a gen next to me

Ok ok I just wanna know if people are wanting a ds rework so bad, What are you thinking?
tell me what you’d want done to it.
Well it should be used like an anti-tunneling perk say after being unhooked the timer activates for 20/25/30 seconds and while in chase or downed the timer pauses but if you work on a gen then the timer ends instantly also no skill check its just a click of LB or whatever it is on other consuls or pc to ds them.

i said no whataboutisms, but if you'd like me to explain how these perks dont even remotely compare to these perks i mentioned on these specific killers, then i can
adrenaline! five seconds use, five second speed boost AT ENDGAME. again. let me repeat that and break it down. a useless perk all game.
deadhard! pretty annoying all admit but its so easy to counter and that perk barely works its a joke
ds! slug. literally slug. or just dont tunnel. that easy. or! eat the ds and it's useless the rest of the game
anything else?
Dude Literally just said dont tunnel with ds or just eat it. 😐 this has to be a meme
-
Thats not even a draw back. You just gave the killer the ability to give broken for free. Broken is extremely powerful considering you can't even heal for the entire duration of it making you one shot.

Yeah, nerf even more good Killer Perks (Ruin) so that all we have left is Monstrous Shrine. Even less variety sounds great.
Ruin is in a better place and synergies well with surveillance so idk what you're on about.

The Legion may not have Killer Instinct, but they DO have access to auras being revealed for a few seconds with each stab, giving them a good indicator of where to go next for that chain stab.
Okay now you're making more sense.

Hello fellow fog runners. I've come to a conclusion that makes me sad.. people just don't get it. Or maybe its ME that doesn't get it.. I'll explain..
I play survivor and killer mostly equally, but prefer killer. I am a huge fan of the original Texas chainsaw massacre for over 20 years so obviously main Leatherface.
After 3 years of playing, I've come to a point where literally 90 percent of my matches I find myself finding a corner to stand in so survivors can get some points so the match feels worthwhile to them.
In response to the hate mssgs I received when the game was new to me, I've learned what not to do (tunnel, camp, plank ppl for no reason, etc.) Playing survivor helped me also as I never do as killer what I hate being done to me as survivor.
This is my point I guess, I can come out of a match with 60-100k on average without actually killing anyone (I run BBQ, discordance, gearhead, and beast of prey.) And I feel good that everyone got a lot of points and had fun. I like playing games w survivors to make it interesting and have got nothing but good feedback from matches in the last couple years..
So question.. am I the only one that gets it? Cuz I'm sick to my stomach with the way killers play/act. It's attrocious the things ppl do "because they can"
Wake up killers, your not only hurting your own score by playing with no concience, keep in mind that NOBODY likes getting 3k points a match. It doesn't make you good friend, and karma will get you.
See you in the fog.
EmptyBore76
I play kind of like how you play. I usually try and then let survivors heal and do a gen or 2 then end all of them and give last the hatch. I understand from a survivor perspective its not fun getting tunneled and getting 4k blood points a match.

In this rework Legion doesn't have Killer Instinct, and this design also heavily encourages splitting up between survivors.
Then he's just a worse legion with a mori?

Well, if you noticed, I explicitly stated the following:
While Feral Frenzy is active, hitting a Survivor who is already affected by Deep Wound or missing an attack:
Depletes the Legion's Power gauge and ends Feral Frenzy, stunning the Legion for 5 seconds.
Feral Frenzy cannot be activated again until the Power gauge is filled.
Additionally:
upon reaching 5 stacks of Stab Wound, the Legion may deactivate Feral Frenzy manually, stunning them for 3 seconds before they may grab the target and perform a quickened Mori, in line with Executioner's Final Judgement.
Deactivating Feral Frenzy is actually faster if done manually in this rework.
You do realize that once a survivor mends then you see them with killer instinct again. So if the survivors are all huddled up you get a ton of stacks.
-
I like this idea but it also would mean a longer stun duration and its already long. Also the legion could just farm stab wounds on a survivor they didn't like. You should reward him for having the knowledge to hit every survivor and decrease his stun duration with every Survivor hit.

I mean you can get as much signatures as you want but that doesn't change that he's licenced
On top of that licenced to a franchise that is still throwing out games/books/movies like nobodies bussiness. Not a horror icon that stopped making revenue ages ago
This licence would be a fortune. And seeing how this community already was crying about one 15 dollar skin to make up for it I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Would like it though but still I'm not seeing it happen. Fnaf doesn't really need the publicity so there would be no reason for Scott to not milk any potential licence transaction for as much as possible
DbD got the licenses for Stranger Things a huge TV show and a Netflix original. Its not at all impossible that we will see fnaf in DbD.

It seems a little unfair that pyramid heads cage counts as a hook state but not of the perks that go against hooking like deliverance and decisive work on it, in my opinion it should take 3 cages and 3 hooks to kill a survivor if this is so
Pyramid Head is strong but his cages aren't as good as they used to be. You used to be able to bait them and good Pyramid Heads still do use them as bait if you know they spawn on the opposite side of the map. This change would be absolutely stupid because his cages would have 0 point. Good survivors do something called avoiding the trails which reduces you to nothing. The best use of him in his current state is either run infectious fright and hook->cage->hook or run BBQ or hook related perks do hook->hook->final judgment. Your change is completely unfounded and you really should watch rank 1 killer gameplay or actually play at red ranks as killer before posting something like this.
-
@lordtomato said:
No hook progress when the killer camp, this is not a play style and should be removed, survivor won't die when getting camped. As a good killer, you shouldn't camp, it is suck and need to be fixed. Camping is stand still to make a survivor can't play the game then die. Seriously enough of camping, killer who camp sucks.
There's a couple problems with this idea. Sometimes survivors just rush the hook. Maybe have it so if the killer is in a case then the timer continues. Otherwise fantastic idea.

Okay I’m not going to bother reading the whole thread and just state my opinion on it.
I am HEAVILY against this. The emotes we currently have are for COMMUNICATION, “come” and “go” essentially. I wouldn’t be totally against character specific emotes that work with said character (Ace finger guns please) but random dance emotes and such would not fit at all. Besides, you’d have to have stationary emotes, if you used any emotes that moved forwards, backwards or sideways, there would be ways to avoid traps, cheese hits and would cause problems with the hit boxes.
Personally I would keep Fortnite-esque emotes far away from DbD but you do you.
I agree with them being more lore based like that. The main point of me saying nae nae was to be funny.
-
@Zoomies said:
No. This game does not need dance emotes and other crap to ruin the mood.
It's supposed to be scary and oppressive for Survivors, and a deadly game of hide and seek for Killers.
I mean..it's already NOT, given how the Devs keep kicking Killers in the danglies and giving Survivors now ways to 4-man for those leet compilation vids that bring in more 13 year olds.
The game simply isn't scary though.

It's nothing of value to you because you don't agree and want to do little dances (like "wraith nae naeing") to celebrate wins not caring that it will only increase animosity that currently exists and really do not fit in DBD. "Go play other games" is because you seem to really want to just use emotes and not care if they actually belong in a game.
Skins/survivors actual impact gameplay. They can be used to make you harder to find (good for stealth) or have you stand out to attract the killer (good for those that do well in chases to distract a killer). Having different skins also allows survivors to be able to tell eachother apart when solo, makes it easier to tell who has already been hooked or not. You also can't taunt a killer with a skin like you would an emote.
P3 Blendette it's that easy to annoy a killer.

No, I'm dismissing adding an unnecessary mechanic to the game that will not help the animosity that's already here. People already get upset with the current "celebrations" the other side does when they win, adding emotes will not help that. Instead of killers complaining about survivors teabagging at exits instead of just leaving they'll complain about whatever dumb emote they're doing. Emotes don't belong in DBD. You have "many other games" you can play to use emotes when you win.
You truly have brought nothinh of value to this discussion telling me to "go play other games" and with your train of thought isn't skins also unnecessary? Along with survivors too considering they have no abilities they're just a character model.

this would work, it would be like borrowed but YOU proc it. only 2 changes, make the timer last a little longer, and make it so that the skillcheck is easier to hit, other than that, i think this would work.

It won't because DS can actually be disabled by NOT TUNNELING THE SURVIVOR.
Or go for someone else.
Or patrolling gens,
Or slugging.
Or counting to 60.
Or staying AWARE on who has been unhooked.
Again its not fun for either survivor or killer to just have to down you for 2 minutes just to ignore it. Also read my point earlier about how if youre a good killer you can do other chases and still wind up getting dsed while not tunneling.

That's nice you're a rank 7 killer and almost devotion 2. Doesn't change that emotes are unnecessary and will just be used to be toxic. Community has enough animosity, it doesn't need emotes used for taunting when winning to add to it.
Well I brought it up cause it seems as if you're trying to dismiss me as someone new to the game who's a child. A good game to reference for salt is for honor a game filled with more bs than dead by daylight. It excicuted emotes perfectly as something to celebrate winning. If dead by daylight did something of the like then it would be fun especially if they were something lore wise; like have spirit fall into pieces or trapper go tinker with his trap.

You don't understand not all games should have dances. I was hoping you'd see but you genuinely ignore what kind of game DBD is. Think more about how unnecessary emotes would impact an already fairly toxic community before refusing to accept they don't belong but whatever.
I'm rank 7 with killer right now and am almost devotion 2 and just got back into this game this week. I enjoy this game and you constantly call them dances when thats not even the point. They are emotes which could be unique to just killers like a reference to their lore. Along with survivors too so they could flesh things out.
-

Take time to understand dances don't belong in DBD, it's not that kind of game. Play one of the "many other games" that has emotes so you can dance in those.

Fortnite is a game that emotes are more popular than the actual gameplay. I don't want DBD to turn into a game more focused on emotes than the game. Yes this game already has salt, there's no reason to encourage it with emotes. If survivor/killer has time to be using emotes to taunt the other side the Devs should find ways to increase the difficulty so that they do not have time to use them.
I know what fortnite is but the point of an emote is to be used during a victory. To have some fun instead of exit gate t bagging and smacking someone on hook.
-

No emotes. Go play Friday the 13th if you wanna play a dancing simulator.
Id be down for two more default emotes though.
Well the point of emotes is to make you laugh and have a better time if you're getting steamroller. Just think of the possibilities of emotes as well which purchasing would help behavior keep working on DBD. Also in DBD there isn't much time to emote so it would mainly be used once you've won.
-

Reminds me of Friday the 13th where the counselor would stun Jason then dance on his head while Jason was recovering.
The concept of emotes would be fun but would undoubtedly be used in a toxic manner.
Well crouching is a part of the game as well but is used as a toxic thing most time during pallet stuns. Emotes would be extremely fun/funny even if used in a toxic way.
-
@bm33 said:
No, don't turn DBD into another fortnite. Killers already get pissed at survivors for teabagging and survivors get pissed at killers for hitting them while hooked. Don't need to add extra unnecessary things to the game to use to taunt.
I dont truly understand you're anology of DBD with emotes to fortnite. Its not a strong argument considering the only thing connecting them would be emotes. This game is also full of salt and stuff like that so emotes wouldn't hurt at all.
