They are not necessarily VPN users. It might be the matchmaking expanding it's search for other players to different regions.
Why am I convinced by that? Because I've had several matches both as killer and survivor, where my ping in the lobby was 100. Usually it's 50. Then during the match I noticed that the other players had pings of up to 200. After the match it turned out, that they played from a different continent. No vpn used.

Nurse's nerf was absolutely warranted. Her range add-ons in particular were way too strong. There are still dominant Nurses out there. I played against one last weekend. Nurse's pick rate was 6.58% at red rank and 5.16% overall as of late 2020, so she's actually getting played a lot still.
I don't think you need to remove the hatch to balance keys. I've heard some people suggest that the hatch should only ever spawn for the last survivor or when five gens are complete, which would be one solution. You could also make the hatch automatically shut behind any survivor that escapes with a key. Another less substantial option would be to retire all of the hatch spawn offerings.
Keys are not strong enough at present if you only give them aura reading and remove their ability to open the hatch. You'd need to at the very least buff their add-ons and give them more charge time, because the only two decent aura-reading add-ons are purple rarity and one of them basically requires the pink key.
What i don´t understand is, that we got the hatch offerings after they announced that they would rework keys. It makes no sense. Because the offerings + a key = ez escape.
Keys (and the addons) should get a buff, IF they remove the hatch. The 5 gens complete option would make it impossible for endgame killers/builds. They would have to protect 3 points on the map. Closing the hatch instantly after each key could work, but only if opening the hatch would take a few seconds. Opening the hatch mid chase never made sense to me. The survivor is supposed to insert to get down, insert the key, open the hatch all while mid chase?

The moment a killers gameplay varies even slightly from the running in circles meta, it´s suddenly OP.
Just loop her as every other killer. When she stands still behind a pallet, run to the next one (and drop it if you´re injured).
-
That moment when gen rushing even annoys survivors.
Anyway, survivors need additional objectives like gas cans, gen parts, fixing cables or something like that. So its not just "hold m1 until the match is over"

Kill rate has its uses, but given that Nurse is the hardest killer in the game to play it's a reasonable conclusion that her high skill floor is driving down kill rates.
Which wasn´t an issue before her nerf. All the nurse mains suddenly vanished. People that spend 1k hours to master her, didn´t adapted to her changes? Because its really hard to find a good nurse right now. Anyway, thats a discussion for another thread.
Back to the topic: in order to balance keys, the hatch needs to go. Use keys for aura reading but completely remove the hatch.

Well seeing as struggling on hook no longer awards points, I'd say that your claim of the statement being old is no longer valid. And even then, objective points aren't really the issue.
No, struggling didn´t give as much bp as hitting constantly great skill checks.
I´m sure objective points aren´t the issue, because of the great skill check bonus and because survivors push out gens in record time.

The most recent stats have Spirit's kill rate at ~4% higher than average, and 5th highest among all killers. 72% at red rank and 60% at all ranks. She is overperforming.
Nurse is still S tier. If she's a shadow of her former self it's because she needed to be. The nerf also didn't introduce her bugs afaik; she's been buggy forever. If half of her blinks aren't working properly, though, you might want to buy a new mouse.
Oh i´m not the one with a broken mouse. Its usually the nurses i play against. Little to no threat.
But sure, if you say she is still S tier, despite having the lowest kill rate...

Of course i will mute them. But then i have zero info. When i play apex legends everyone uses the ping system. It doesnt matter that they have a bad mic, no english knowledge, dont want to talk etc.
But they could implement both.
Both would be great.

Can’t say I’ve seen that games ping system but if you want a good one apex is the way to go
Haven´t tried apex. Hoods works like this: You aim at something, hit the button and depending on what it is (enemy, gate, chest, space in the open, etc. It marks accordingly. Like you want to go into a certain direction.
Voice chat was always better there.

Tbh I’ve had no problem using it in apex to get all the info I need.
Realistically the only info you need is who’s being chased who’s on gens and who’s going for unhooks
I compared the ping system with Hood, and voice chat is superior in every way.

I would personally go with a ping system like apex legends. It would work with a language barrier and it would be fine for people who don’t feel comfortable talking with strangers
The problem with that is, that its still no match to the information level of SWF.

It really dependent on what killer is being played. If it’s a decent 8 hook game as let’s say wraith then the killer is definitely out scoring survivor.

No inbuild voice chat would do that only in theory. In my experience from other games not many people will use it and others would make it worse, so you need to mute them. A ping system would be less effective, but it would be more useful.
R6 has inbuild voice chat that works.
They could add filter option of preferred language/region/country so the system would match players with the same selection.
Also, there is a mute button.

In game voice chat isn't a good idea, there's a reason that people really only use comms with people that they like.
Also, an awful match as killer will get you around the same amount of BP as an amazing survivor match would, it's pretty much agreed across the board that survivor needs to award more bloodpoints than it does currently.
When its a terrible killer, then no one goes over 20k points. If its a good killer, then survivors also get more points.
The "survivors earn less points" is a very old statement. Back from when survivors didn´t earn 300 bp with a single great skill check.
-
Give survivors inbuild voice chat. Thats the only way to bring solos on the same level of information as SWF.
Oh and the more bloodpoint thing would cause even longer survivor queues. As good survivors can already earn more points than killers.
-
Doing the Plague challenge (infect 6 survivors in a single match) as someone who never plays plague.
Being on red ranks.
SWF squad that last second switches to flashlight.
2 disconnect the moment i got 3 hooks with 5 gens up while they failed several times to blind me.
Meh...

6 unhooks, and then escape from the hook with deliverance in a single trial.
Escape through the gate when you unhooked 6 survivors, escaped from the hook with deliverance and stunned the killer 6 times.

Next challenge: Get 6 unhooks. Must be safe unhooks. Complete challenge in a single trial.

Not really. Just stating what survivors have been complaining about in the end game screen.
Btw, my favorite complaint was: Long distance face camper (killer dared to look in the direction of the hook, from the other end of the map).

Yes evenings & nights survivors have long queques. But other times survivors have normal queques and actually for me those times easier than nights. I think most of good players playing nights.
*Not most of good players
Most players play at evening/nights. People come home from school/work and want to play.
-
The high kill rate has a pretty simple explanation: it only focuses on the rank of the killer. Not the rank of the survivors. So since survivors already have long queues, they end up getting matched with killers out of their rank. Which results in a ez match for that rank 1 killer, who stomps the noob survivors that somehow got matched against him.

Dosent change the fact that not survivor player likes to play against any of those things just like no killer likes playing against keys. As I said it goes both ways unfortunately and the devs are probably very hesitant to nerf the thing killers hate without touch any of the things survivors hate
The devs aren´t hesitant to nerf things survivors hate. Those things usually get nerfed pretty quickly.
BT was just buffed to help survivors against camping and i expect further buffs to the perk.

Keys are a double edged sword unfortunately. Yes they are op but at the same time they are the single best counter to tunneling/camping and nurse/spirit whom the devs still refuse to nerf. Keys will remain the same as long as those things do I’m afraid
Tunneling and camping have been already adressed several times. Nurse is only a former shadow of herself. With her bugs, half her blinks don´t work properly. Spirit isn´t overperforming according to the dev stats.

actually pig should be buffed on the traps either making her trap countdown faster or survivor should unlock in 2 place before could remove it, most of killers in this game need to be buffed, the gap between tier A and B or C killers is still big
Not according to the dev stats. They said themselves that they only look at the stats. With exception of the nurse.
So since spirit isn´t overperforming, she won´t get a nerf. Pig might get a nerf. Even when most people agree that pig is weaker than spirit, the stats show something else.

Nah man pigs alright the way she is. She's a pain in my butt but she's cool to go against. Spirit on the other hand is annoying asf! Can't understand how anyone who's played against her can't see any issues with her if I'm honest..
The same could be said about the pigs traps. Annoying doesn´t mean OP. Its just a matter of adapting to each killer.

Pigs kill rate is higher. Pig OP?

pallets arent always close together, especially in open maps or dead zones with just 1 pallet. especially if its a good spirit they will get to you before you get to the next loop
Then you need to be better that the good spirit.

While I don’t suicide nurse has very few weak points. Some perks like dead hard and iron will but that’s really it
The key is not running in circles but gitting view blockers in between. After every missed hit she´ll count the floor tiles. Use this to break line of sight.

Fair enough. I just don’t enjoy how she ignores normal looping since it’s my favourite part of the game.
Id still argue she is the best killer though. Sure god nurses are rare but like SWF deathsquads they are not fun to fight
Most people straight up suicide against nurse. Instead of trying to play against her. If people would take some time to play her, they would also know where her weak spots are.

Yes, but that's their opinion. WIth "data" on their hand. they will claim it is proven (bc of the data). Which is likely not, bc they misinterpret the data, but know you have to explain them why they read their data wrong, and not why their opinion is flawed.
Yes there should be more data, so the devs can make better decisions (I'm sure there is, already). But I do not see any great benefit of releasing the data to the community, bc if will not be used objectively.
If all the data is out, then the same evidence could be used to debunk their claims.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2176518#Comment_2176518
Yeah it always confused me why nurse was the only exception. Whether you like her or not she’s clearly the strongest killer but the devs purposefully made her buggy and hard to play so less people show how good she is
The times of Nurse being a god killer have passed. I can´t remember the last time i saw a god nurse and honestly enjoy playing against nurses. Because those matches usually aren´t that hard.
-
3 genning is always on the survivors side. If you don´t see that the killer is guarding a certain area, than thats on your team.
Killer can´t force you to do gens on the other side of the map.

Kill stats are very unreliable tbh. According to them nurse needs buffs pig needs nerfs and Myers is in an okay spot.
They should go off fog whisperers and general feedback more
But they said themselves, that they only look at the kill rates. With the exception of the nurse.
Nurse could get 1k on average and they still wouldn´t buff her.
-
@CaulDrohn said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2176189#Comment_2176189
I disagree, to be honest. Yes it would be really nice to have some more statistics. The problem is, the data will then be skewed and taken out of context to prove ones agenda, as happened with the last data that was given. Devs said multiple times to not use that data for trying to prove a point, but that did not stop anyone from posting ridiculous claims "based" on the data.
But people already claim that this killer or perk is OP. Nothing would change in that regard.
-
@TumbleElf said:
"just gitgud already."
how?
how do i counter the spirit? what does "gitgud" mean in the context of versing a spririt in solo queue?
You loop her like every other killer and when she starts standing still behind a pallet, you run to the next one and drop it.

@Phasmamain said:

How is she not OP? She has an uncounterable chase power, decent mobility and insane add ons
Not according to the official kill rate stats. I guess Pig will be hit before Spirit.

People need to realize, the RE killer is already finished. And the question, which character will be implemented, has been decided months ago, maybe even a year ago.
Once a company publishes a teaser, the product is already finished, just some minor bugfixing and QA left to do.
I agree. Just that the Q&A is the release.
-
I thought I'd never said that. But sluzzy has a point.
We should have access to detailed stats where we could filter everything. Would be really interesting to see how the Undying nerf affected totem cleanses, the mori nerf affected the kill rate and how the addon changes impacted the killers lethality.

No, what I'm saying is it's extremely dangerous as the rescuer. I'm not finding the right strategy to counter that. Not because of whatever the hell you said.
Wraith's speed buff allows him to break chase and go towards the last known location.
Thanks for straw manning my statement Bill.
I guess survivors always find something to complain about:
- when the killer camps
- when the killer doesn't camp
- when the killer tunnels
- when the killer doesn't tunnel
There really is no winning.
-
Solo is fine. If you´d buff them to be on SWF level, then you would have to heavily buff killers.
