The main difference between old and new ruin is that new ruin benefits high pressure killers more, which is quite ironic considering old ruin was used mostly on low pressure killers like bubba and clown as a method of keeping a bit of pressure.
New ruin is fun but not the cup of tea of everyone and is not exactly the best for every killer, although, I would highly recommend trying it yourself
The killers I have gotten the most value out of when using ruin have been:
- Legion
- Billy
- Doctor
- Freddy
Old ruin was a decent perk, but it was flawed and was starting to become problematic for a couple of reasons:
- Experienced players had no real problem getting over it, so it was getting worse and worse with time specially on red ranks
- Too many people used it at higher ranks (80%), making gameplay stale.
- It messed data up for the devs, making addressing gen times much harder
- (and the reason everyone cried about) Newer players had trouble dealing with it, since htting great skillchecks is something you have to learn with time
In conclusion, it was way too strong against newer players and meh against older ones, plus it was bad from a gameplay perspective and difficulted data obtention.

I love tar booty, ot can come in handy in almost every map. Except coldwind. ######### coldwind
-
I personally found it easier and less grindier than level 2
-
Survivors, I rarely get a facecamping or teabagging killer, but each time I ######### up survivors most of the time will be there to teabag and spam vaults.
-
i would watch you if you were charismatic and skilled
-
Haunted grounds+Retribution
There you have your strong perk.
-
I enjoy the legion, but I do agree he needs to get some major buffs or a rework in order to be more fun and strong.
-
Getting bored or feeling to stressed by it, and neither has really happened to me (not yet)
-
Jesus christ, the new patch hasnt even released yet
WE ARE STILL ON PTB PEOPLE, CHANGES STILL CAN BE MADE
Stop exaggerating, your "play victim for upvotes" posts are starting to get really annoying.

"Killers may have access to moris, but survivors can get keys, styptic, and the syringe." Keys are good, but styptic and the syringe are basically trash since the rework.
Syringe, maybe, but styptic is even better than before now

The DC penalties system has changed nothing. I played 4 game in a row and the first survivor that went down suicided on hook.
So what is changed? Nothing. Killer get less points. Survivors get a difficult game.
Pretty good job so far DEVS.
Its better they suicide on hook, you get more BP and emblems.

He probably shot himself by accident while testing the redeemer.

Ok camper.

I couldnt agree more.
The same people that say they are leaving the game after this update are the same that will be spouting ######### at the devs next ######### up.

The best thing you can do is stop playing the game all together. If there are no killers(lets face it there aren't many now) then the devs will have to do something.

As much as I want them to fix ds I have to admit facts. DS used to be worse. When it came out the obsession got to use it at anytime if they were downed. A non obsession could use it so long as they struggled to like 40%. They didn't have to be hooked to use it, they had it one a button to use at their leisure. It took them 2 full years to finally rework the thing and it's almost perfect. They just need to make it so if your healed or the killer hooked someone else, it turns off. Last if your in a locker it shouldn't work.

I hope they never touch BBQ but the devs have out right lied to us before. I've seen things that said they wouldn't touch for fear of survivor/killer backlash and they did it anyway. Only ever so slightly over a period of months so the impact wasn't as bad.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1127312#Comment_1127312
I've worked for companies long enough to know anytime someone in a management says "we'll look into it" is code for "Go the #@$% away" That's just something they say to try to get you to drop the subject. It took them 2 years to rework ds. I expect at least another 2 before they do it again if the game lives that long.
It was sarcasm if you didnt notice already, the attitude of some killer mains is pathetic.

Get used to it. Killers are a dying breed and the Survivors need to be provided with a victim to bully so the match making will pair up anyone who is available.
I recommend you dodge all lobbies that have even 1 item, bright multicolored clothes, bright hair or quads of the same character, especially blendettes. Don't play weak killers and stick to Spirit or Billy. Play Hag or Bubba for camping potential.
Make the game fun for you, forget about following survivor rules - play how you want, not how they want.

Because survivor-mains cried about peer-to-peer, and demanded dedicated servers, not knowing what consequences this will bring. Not knowing that putting a 3rd party between the players will INCREASE the interaction latency not decrease it.
I want dedicated not because of "muh latency", I want crossplay.

Heck, Twitch already prove this and i watch otzdarva stream where he get facecamped by basement bubba (And their toxic teammate blaming their own teams)

They won't because they want the game to be easy for survivors. If the game is too much of a challenge for them, then they'll quit and that equals loss of profits. Truth be told, if the base game was balanced from the get go, over 80% of the things that were nerfed on killers and survivors alike would have never needed to be nerfed in the first place. But instead of balancing the base game, they just treat the game like it revolves around the perks, and that everything can be solved by changing perks constantly and nerfing/buffing killer powers. As far as money motives go, they can't touch survivors too much or else they risk them leaving. And it's not just money, they might actually think everything they've done (regarding balance) was for the most part, correct COA's. Just look at 1.9.2. for example. They thought that patch was balanced as can be, and they still think it was balanced, the only reason why they reverted it was due to killers leaving en masse, which caused queue times to skyrocket. For the most part, killers have been nerfed more consistently than survivors. And most of the killer nerfs were done for the sole purpose of making things easier for survivors, there was no regards to actual balance. Why did Nurse need to get nerfed? It was still easy to avoid her if you broke LOS and ran along sharp turns. Sure Spirit collision during phase was broken, that needed to be nerfed because it made no sense for her to be able to body block if she was in a different realm altogether, but why the vaulting animation change? Can't they just let survivors mind game instead of having free information given to them so they can loop easier? Why does Prove Thyself have no cooldown yet perks like Surge and PGTW have cooldowns? Why isn't swf a separate mode from solos since swf throws the game off balance? Why do Moris and Keys have such uses of ease when they have the capability to turn the game around in an instant with no skill, thought, or effort? Why do mediocre killer perks have so much restrictions yet the most powerful survivor perks (most of which require no skill, thought, or effort) have little to no restrictions? Why is it that things are made easier for survivors yet for killer things are made so hard when it's already hard to play as killer?
Why is the game even being 'balanced' around yellow-brown ranks? If you make things easier for new and low skilled survivors, then you're removing the challenge for experienced and skilled survivors, and making things harder for new and experienced killer, especially experienced killers. Is this all to say that playing killer is impossible or that this response is just to push the killer main sentiment? No, it's just pointing out all the flaws with the way the 'balancing' team handles balance and how the state of the game causes the survivor vs killer main dilemma. When survivors get nerfed less than killers do and buffed more than them, then of course killers are going to notice this and call it out, they have been since 2017. Survivor bugs and issues also get fixed more quickly and often than killer problems do. Is there an actual logical reason behind this, such as maybe killer bugs and issues are more difficult to fix, or is it because survivor needs are more important?

Not to be pessimistic, but this is where we're headed, back to the "Dark Times".
We are far from "back at the dark times"
Seriously, I dont understand the shitstorm the ruin nerf brought, its ridiculous, you people came from disliking the devs a bit to completely despising them.

No because they only cater towards evil survivor mains
now give upvotes.

Yeah I was wondering that too, I see two power icons in the wiki but there is only one in game.

Because they were afraid of leaving their comfort zone, and didn't realize the perk was progressively getting worse at red ranks.

And thus the plot thickens...
Why do you think the Spirit is so angry when she hunts survivors and slices them repeatedly during her mori? The Entity promised her revenge on her dad... Oh wait... Yeah, if you're thinking she's seeing her dad in the survivors; bingo, we have a winner.
Also, super fun fact that all but confirms this theory, both the Spirit and the Deathslinger have a very distinct white glow to their eyes, unlike any other killer (yes Wraith and Billy have it too but Wraith was heavily tortured and Billy kills everything and anything, most likely just aesthetic). They are seeing LIES...
Final note that again, confirms this theory: the Spirit and Deathslinger have no signs of torture on them, whereas the Trapper and Hag are super messed up. Difference between these two parties? The eyes... One group was beat down to serve the Entity, the other is being manipulated by an illusion... Plus, the Pig and Legion both have normal eyes and no signs of abuse. They want to be here and they didn't have to be convinced.
Hmm, hillbilly and wraith also have flashing eyes, does that mean they are also being controlled by the entity?

You dont have to.

What crappy poll, not even worth voting.

And what if letting survivors go isnt fun for me?

I have to ask, what kind of cooldown does the Plague have? You could puke back to back all you like.
And to play devil's advocate, a lot of the perks you mentioned have strict activation conditions that need to be met before they can activate. Something like Unbreakable can only activate if the killer slugs someone for a while and can only be used once, PGTW requires you to hook someone first so there's already effectively a cooldown in terms of how quickly you can down and hook people.
I don't mind cooldowns where they make sense, personally. The Doctor's a great example of it. He doesn't have a cooldown on his normal Shock Therapy, only on Static Blast. If Static Blast had no cooldown, it would break the game. You could sit there and spam Static Blast over and over and the survivors would never be able to do gens.
But then we have cooldowns on perks like Surge were you need to fulfill certain conditions and still get 60 seconds of nothing.

No.

Sure, but some should be designed to be the new meta, the game's getting really stale with the lack of good enough perks for people who like to play competetively. The last really good killer perk we got was Plague's Infectious Fright, that was almost a whole year ago, survivors are in a bit better spot, with the last meta perk being Nancy's Inner Strenght. (which is getting a counter this DLC) The meta needs shakeup in my opinion, so much so that I wouldn't be against disabling some powerfull perks for a duration of a chapter ...
Gearhead sounds like a good alternative to discordance on M1 killers, just saying

Nurse was overnerfed for the satisfaction of survivors, so they could get breathing room. Even the communities most popular Nurse main said that she's boring and unfun to play because of the blink cooldowns.
Spirit was overnerfed as well. Her collision needed to go but her vault animation didn't because giving her a vault animation defeated part of the purpose of her power. PT. 2 of her overnerf is that the survivor biased devs waited so long to fix her sounds and when they finally fixed it, they think we wouldn't have noticed the shadow nerf to her phasing sound while in TR.
Keep in mind that survivors still want these killers nerfed because they can't mindlessly loop these killers
I dont think adding a vault animation is an overnerf, spirit is still unloopable
-
Fun fact, that hacked perk he has was the original version of left behind.

Nurse extincted because of an overnerf. Spirit extincted because of an overnerf and various soundbugs. Oni was unplayable for a month. Just some examples.
Nurse didnt die, she just got extremely boring to play as
Spirit was far from an overnerf, it was barely a nerf
I didnt get to play Oni on PC so I cant really say anything about the flick, but he was pretty OK on console.
