Like the other guy said, Decisive Strike was originally 3 seconds, increased to 5 cause of Enduring, but never was reduced back to 3 despite them saying they’d change it. Perk works just fine at 3 seconds, so let’s leave it that way. 5 seconds was obnoxiously long.
-
You’re first mistake was listening to Swarm.
-
I’m personally betting that Eyrie will still be survivor sided. Just not as bad obviously.
-
Any decent slowdown hurts solo que. Eliminating 3 gens or the perks that make defending them so good won’t magically make solo que any better.
-
So make the perk near worthless? No thanks.
-
This perk is still decent. I guarantee most killers won’t hear you in chase or even when you’re nearby unless you’re playing like Jeff or Ash.
-
Also give us the ability to switch killers in lobby. I don’t mind facing a sweat squad, but I’d prefer to do so when properly equipped.
-
That’s certainly sus. Following for an answer.
-
I’ve noticed the exact same. When Project W dropped which is when the que incentives were working properly, survivor side almost always had a 100% bonus incentive to play except when closer to 8 pm CST when it would either switch over to killer and last there for a good 3-4 hours, or survivors’ que incentive would lower to 25 or 50%. As the months went on though, the time it would stay at killer would increase and it seemed to switch over to that role earlier especially on weekends. Now as for these days, 100% incentive for killer begins as early as 4 pm CST, and lasts nearly 12 hours where survivor will get the incentive again at 25 or 50% and it may fluctuate between the two. It’s actually been awhile since I’ve seen a 100% bonus on survivor last for long, as it’ll usually lower or switch to killer. I think the reasons would be that the hype for 6.1 died, and people realized that 6.1 wasn’t the massive killer sided update that ruined survivor, and also people getting tired of Wesker since he undoubtedly also raised the numbers of people playing killer.

People will quickly realize that these nerfs barely changed anything and will go back to whining about her lol.

Don't you know if you see the new claw icon you should just stay off the gens the entire game, lol.
Literally. I’ll bet he’s one of those players who argued Empathy could counter Eruption which therefore made the perk fair.

no nerf?
SWF - counter to any perk in game and any build
now you are closer to swf ( GREAT JOB DEVS MAKING ALL LIKE SWF CHEATERS INSTEAD OF NERFING VOICE COMM ABUSE )
NO NERF???
all you need to do now is sit on gen - ouh claws icon - get of gen = you will never see eruption in games
but you will see killer bots
bec killer mains are done with this game
You still have no good idea when they’ll actually go down, so no, the claws icon means nothing.
-
@Roaroftime said:
Completely agree with the gen stacking perks, especially because they're powerful enough on their own, especially eruption which is overpowered anyway...
Overcharge and Eruption suck by themselves.
-
Only if we actually make it where you can keep gens under control with less slowdown. Because this would be a huge nerf to killer and make gens fly even harder.
-
@GlamourousLeviathan said:
CoB and Eruption aren't even in need of nerf. Nerfing it would be just going with the casual players wishes once more. This game without gen regression simply isn't functional and even if CoB and Eruption get nerfed people will probably just stack other forms of gen defense.
I wouldn’t quite go that far, but the fact that gen perks getting nerfed is always taken negatively by the killer community goes to show a huge flaw in this game which is how necessary gen perks are in order for killers to stand a chance. People reacted the same way with og Ruin’s nerf, and Undying’s rework, so I’d expect the same response when this perk(s) inevitably gets addressed. I honestly feel the same way despite knowing full well they’re not very healthy perks, but I must say, losing them (especially CoB) would really hurt especially when these perks not requiring much effort to control gens is precisely why they’re so good, more so on the weaker killers who will struggle to get downs as quickly as stronger killers, since they’re really the ones that need these perks the most. Not to mention when our other gen perks have been nerfed to no longer be as effective as they were before.

No, they just want a fair and balanced game. Current meta isn't balanced.
Voicing an opinion/feedback on just that doesn't mean "free wins". Unless you think those who voiced their opinion on old DS and old DH also wanted "free kills". Doubtful.
If killers aren’t allowed to camp, tunnel, slug, or guard 3 gens, then how do you expect them to not lose? Especially against 4 man SWFs with full meta load outs on Discord?
-
Make the speed boost off being hit less strong.
-
Honestly, aside from what’s already been teased and Eruption nerf, I’m not sure if I see much else happening considering how quiet they’ve been.

Last month felt like a roller coaster. We went from complaints about camping/tunneling to complaints about killers kicking gens.
At this point i don´t even know what the community wants.
The community wants killers to give them free wins, basically.
-
I'm actually gonna argue the opposite, which is that the perk and CoB rewards not tunneling. Since they require no effort to be applied to gens, they provide very effective forms of gen defense and incentivize the killer to pressure and defend gens instead of just hard focus a survivor out of the game.
-
If anything, just add a breakable wall like in Dead Dawg. Like everyone else said though, it’s fine, only an issue when you can chain other strong structures too easily with it.
-
I prefer CoB + OC anyway.
-
Lol at people calling this map killer sided when it has atrocious hook spawns, annoying ass window loops survivors can hold W at for a while, and loads of god/safety pallets you can’t do anything about.
-
I already clowned on a post exactly like this before, but I’ll put it in less words: Haha, no. Problem here is the current meta, especially Eruption, and that’s what should probably be looked at if we want to try to stop hour long matches.
-
Either way, Prestige levels should not display in lobby cause it gives killers an excuse to dodge.

flashlight saving is not ruining a killer’s experience.
Neither is camping or tunneling then.

Dead By Daylight in late 2022 is a totally different game now
Only sweats are playing the game now. There's no business playing unless you're training to play comp. Casual players have lost interest as they were tired of playing against those same exact sweats who are still playing now, this is very easily seen by looking at player charts.
https://i.ibb.co/zN8QYGj/Untitled.png
We've lost -40% of the playerbase compared to June. People are still interested in this game, they try to go back to it during events, but they stop after a few weeks, because it just feels so horrible now unless you already have invested 2000+ hours in it.
This game is way too hard and obnoxious for casual players. People come here expecting a survival horror game watching exciting video with hiding elements and intense chases with the killer, instead, they get matched against players with 6000 hours who down them in 5 sec then camp them on hook. Then in post-game screen they realize their opponent has perks that are 10x better than theirs and also that they have no chance to ever access these perks, unless they grind the game for 100+ hours
I've been trying to get my friends to play this game and I felt literally embarrassed by how bad it was. In one particular game we faced a facecamping + tunneling spirit with only pink addons who slugged my friend 8 TIMES IN A ROW while she was trying like never to find me and get her 4k, look at the killer's profile:
https://i.ibb.co/1TTqQgx/image.png
That's 71 pages of only -rep. Please explain me BHVR, who wants to play against someone who has a profile like that. They're not even deleting the -rep, they are PROUD of it, and they played the game for 110 hours in past 2 weeks so that's 8 hours/day just with the intent of ruining other people's games. We got matched against many killers like this one and some of them were streaming.
So to conclude, the game has not changed much, but the playerbase has. If you played it in mid 2022 then you were playing against people like you who want to play DBD like it is a GAME, but now you are playing against people who do it like it is a JOB.
Lol imagine actually believing or listening to -reps. Leaving comments like that is literally the calling card of a moron.

Yeah I do think they could do more to deal with the killers in particular who go into matches with the express purpose of farming salt so they play in a manner I can only describe as griefing to get a reaction.
Trouble is, I see so many people making frivolous claims (literally just got accused of cheating by a killer lol) and crippling the report system with spurious nonsense, I don't know how they could police that.
I do think Eruption and DH both need to be nerfed into the ground as first priority when BHVR are back from holidays as both are very unfair and create a lot of frustration. Then deal with the huge increase in hard tunnelling players out of the game as this is really killing the solo survivor experience which is already rough at times
Then they should do something about the survivors who go in to a match to ruin the killer’s experience by teabagging, flashlight saving, and spamming “gg ez” in endgame chat too.

It's entirely possible for Reassurance to be buffed without overbuffing it.
What is it with these forums and the concept of doing things in moderation that's so difficult to understand
People are literally saying it should work like it did in the PTB, while failing to realize how abusable that version was. Reassurance already does its job just fine, so idk what more y’all want lol. Basement’s supposed to be an unsafe place to be hooked that’s a method of snowballing for the killer.
-
Survivors had no problem getting carried by DH and DS for all these years, but the second killer’s in a better position and gets a good combo to help with how fast gens get completed, survivors are up in arms and will probably get the perks nerfed into complete worthlessness unlike DH and DS which are still good.
-
Lol the replies in this thread. Clearly people will never be happy until Reassurance has unlimited range and pauses the hook timer forever.

Well I'm not sure how to nerf it functionally. I wasn't really suggesting a specific nerf in any direction. I wanted to bring up that it encourages tunneling and when stacked with other shutdown perks the gameplay becomes very unfun and a complete turnoff. By definition though Dead by Daylight is very Killer versus Survivor so I know the survivors fun is non of the killers concern by design. But it should be the developers concern. If there was a way to keep it's overall strength without shutting down survivors actions/ability to complete gens for nearly a minute per down+hook (with a potential of hitting 3 survivors max per proc) I would argue that would be a fine direction.
No idea what that would look like though. I'd like to be able to constantly be involved in making decisions, choices, and meaningful actions whenever I play a game.
I know the below picture is DMS but it still illustrates the kind of gameplay that isn't really gameplay. It's just waiting. Most times it's just waiting to lose.

You can tone down the numbers to allow the perk to be less severe and still do its intended job. 15 seconds of Incapacitation instead of 25, and making Incapacitation apply only to the survivors repairing whichever Erupted gen has the most progress would be fair.

Unfortunate
Don’t get me wrong I understand slugging is sometimes necessary and I do it myself if I’m trying to secure kills
But in cases where people slug for the 4K, even if they have to spend 4 minutes searching for the final survivor while you bleed out, or people doing it simply to be toxic and refusing to hook, those situations just aren’t fun and there’s nothing you can do about it without UB, and if you’ve already used it then it’s game over, enjoy your 4 minutes on the ground
Ironically the proposed changes actually make slugging for the 4K worse.
-
Nerfing Eruption just isn't enough for you is it?
-
BHVR's gonna have to do far more than just 90 second gens and 2.5% progress loss on kicks if they want slowdown to be less mandatory for killer.

I see those in my games too but I also see plenty of variety though, it’s not every single one of my matches that I see them on all of my teammates. It’s true that there’s four so there’s a smaller chance of everyone running the same thing, but I mean I’ve been playing almost every day the past month and every killer save for maybe 1/20ish is running those two perks. I see maybe 2/4 survivors running full meta and a lot more random perks in play mixed in.
Not trying to be bias, saying one side is using meta more often simply because they got a meta boost and the other didn’t doesn’t seem to be something to have a bias over anyway. It doesn’t mean one side is holier than thou or survivors are better sports or something, I just noticed surv meta has changed bc of nerfs so second chance isn’t the only thing we see anymore, while killers in my games are not cycling out those two perks as much.
I also barely see otr or unbreakable in my games now, perhaps bc of the otr nerf and upcoming endgame slug changes. I only see resilience and windows really often, with adrenaline in the middle somewhere. I do still see dead hard on at least 1-2 people, but lithe and balanced are way more common now! Which is a nice change. I still think the changes overall just forced survs to alter builds a bit more.
I also see "variety" from killers. Corrupt, Deadlock, No Way Out, Pain Res, Pop, Jolt, Gift of Pain, Lethal, Nowhere To Hide, NOED, BBQ, Brutal, STBFL, etc. There's definitely other regression perks you can run aside from just the usual three. If anything, the lack of variety from killers just confirms to me that gen regression/slowdown is much more required for killer than second chances are for survivors.
-
I see a lot of the same perks from survivors too. DH, PT, Windows, Adrenaline, Resilience, OTR, Unbreakable seem to be the most common ones. I think you’re being a little biased here.
-
Matchmaking will never be perfect, especially when the current system prioritizes speed over accuracy.
-
Yes, let’s kill any and all strategy for the killer and force them to play a certain way so the survivor mains can always win and have fun. Killer doesn’t deserve any of that. Honestly, why do players even take on the role as killer? Let’s just replace them with bots who use 0 strategy and mindlessly commit to chases with the goal of playing for a 12 hook game since clearly all survivors want are easy wins and clips for their TikToks. I forgot only survivors are allowed to use good strategy.
-
Basekit Unbreakable was likely scrapped. Don’t count on it coming.
-
Honestly, Hyperfocus Stake Out combo isn't that strong IMHO. It relies on skill checks appearing (which despite Hyperfocus increasing the frequency of them appearing as you get more stacks, they sometimes still take forever to pop up), the user able to hit the greats (harder than it seems, especially as the cursor moves faster), and Stake Out requiring setup in order for you to more reliably stack on more progress with Hyperfocus. Only issue it really has is when a toolbox is involved with it, as toolboxes increase the chance of skill checks appearing and BNP skill checks count towards Hyperfocus, so if I'd change anything on it, just make the perk not work when repairing with a toolbox.
-
Lol people don't understand that this is a copy pasta.
-
That’d help, but it still has another issue which is it completely negates your ability to lunge. It’s basically old DH if you can’t hit a survivor without lunging before they make a pallet. I feel like the speed boost duration or speed itself should be lowered, at least when you’re hit with a lunge.
-
Don’t worry, I’m sure Eruption will be nerfed into uselessness like Thana, while CoB and OC will also be nerfed to please survivors.
-
Oh yeah, Badham is 100% horrible for killer. Aside from all the points you’ve already brought up, there’s also house of pain and plenty of pallets everywhere you go many of which are highly safe.
-
Bugged in what way?
-
DS should 100% stay at 3 seconds. Having both 5 second DS and current OTR in the game would be complete aids. You guys realize that DS was supposed to go back to 3 seconds after Enduring was reworked to no longer affect the DS stun right?

An overwhelming majority of comp players are kids. It's easier to understand the behavior with that context. Adults generally don't have the time to put into DbD to get to that level. It takes an unholy amount of hours just to make it out of round 1 consistently in major tournaments. The Knightlights of the world are generally putting in 50+ hours per week in game.
The more you know. Definitely explains a lot.
-
An overwhelming majority of comp players are incredibly rude. Which is why they’re almost always an instant dodge for me.
-
Wait, Eyrie map rework has actually been confirmed?
