Not for the one person that dies.
DS, BT, even DH or bodyblocking counter tunneling.
Not to an extent to where it's impossible to tunnel, but to where it wastes more time than it gains.
Survivors are supposed to play as a team. 1 dead Survivor means 3 escaped. That's a win for the Survivors, whether the questionable SBMM counts it as one or not

Because I don’t let fair killers get 0k.
Why are only Killers that lose "fair"?
-
So, Corrupt Intervention/Hex: Ruin/Hex: Undying/Pop Goes The Weasel/Hex: No One Escapes Death or Corrupt Intervention/Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance/Dead Man's Switch/Call Of Brine/Pop Goes The Weasel every game?
5 Perk slots won't fix much. Gens will still go fast because that's the only objective Survivors have and stacking more and more slowdown won't help lower tier Killers and will only make higher tier Killers even better

Like the distance of SprintBurst and Lithe? But i guess we only complain about that after DH gets nerfed, though it lacks logic.
Once again, someone doesn't get the difference between ending/denying chase and restarting chase

But is anything being done to nerf tunneling?
No because it's counterable
-
I'm not merciful at all. I always try to kill the Survivors. The only time I'll let a Survivor go is if they get bodyblocked by another Survivor on purpose
-
A missed attack is a missed attack, even if Nurse missed due to Dead Hard
-
I haven't faced a macro'ing Killer in a long time.
Last time I remember going against a macro'ing Killer was against a Doctor on the old Groaning Storehouse.
I was playing Claudette with Self-Care, Spine Chill and 2 other Perks and I was maxing out my Bloodpoints in Survival category

I personally don't care if there's an objectively better exhaustion perk. Dead Hard is just frustrating because of the invulnerability and also the slight amount of distance it can get in a chase but that wouldn't be so much of a problem if you didn't have to wait for the invulnerability.
The I-Frames aren't the bad part of Dead Hard imo. They can be easily baited out. The distance is the bad part. It's unavoidable and uncounterable

i said I cleansed the noed totem, but I don’t want to play against this kind of killers. I want to have fun. 50hours vs 5000 is not fair for them also
How did you even manage to face a Killer with 50 hours? There's no way NOED boosted them that much, nor are you so bad that you got killed over and over again.
How is SBMM this garbage?

That’s fair. Tbh I always felt like overcome was just more boring than OP because it encourages shift W so much. But maybe you’re right and I’d change my mind if more people used it (which would probably happen if DH is nerfed). The biggest weaknesses overcome has is that it does nothing if you were already injured/didn’t get healed since being unhooked (but then again we are in a healing meta anyways) and that instadown killers hard counter it, but it’s still a strong perk for sure.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2859349#Comment_2859349
While true, SB is still something you can save and activate basically whenever as long as you’re not running while not exhausted. If the survivor isn’t doing it correctly and is wasting time walking excessively then yeah it’s not so great but if you’re just sitting on a gen you can stick around until the last second and it makes nearly any area safe even if it would normally be a deadzone. Perks like Lithe and BL require you to go to certain props/places on the map to use them and you have less control over where they can be used (eg. some maps just suck for BL, and lithe gets used on your first rushed vault so you can’t loop at a safer window and then save it for an unsafe window/pallet unless you also 99 your exhaustion). I do not think SB is as fundamentally broken as DH but I’d still change it.

Dead Hard over traps 100% needs to go.
Overcome definetly has it's counters, but they're practically non-existant if a single Survivor runs CoH, which guarantees Survivors will be healthy 90% of the time.
Overcome is a slightly weaker DH imo, since tunneling and insta-downs can mitigate it, but at the same time, it combos really well with CoH

I have 5000 hours as surv. I just played against a spirit that did 1 hook before egc. After every gen was done I looked for noed and he did 0k. He had 50hours. Noed is not a solution, is a problem. Very bad killers have kills they don’t deserve, and then play with survs better than them and come here crying for surv nerfs
Look, I get you don't like NOED, but since you're always facing "bad Killers" that barely get Hooks before EGC, can't you just do bones?
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
I mean you’re not wrong. SB isn’t complained about more only because most survivors choose to use DH instead and using them both together is basically impossible. Nerf DH and SB, and then give a buff to smash hit. I think the rest are okay.
I'd include Overcome when it comes to nerfing Exhaustion Perks. It's really underrated and has one of Dead Hard biggest upsides, being able to loop normally.
Lithe, Balanced Landing and Smash Hit all require you to leave the loop to use their speed boosts effectively. Overcome let's you loop normally, up until you get hit, in which case you would've left the loop regardless and get a huge speed boost for it

At this point I think it is random, but it’s way too complicated. I own the game on steam, epic, stadia (linked), switch, and ps5 (with ps4 version downloaded) and nothing. I own the chapter on only PlayStation and steam. I only play on PlayStation, you’d think it would pop on one these accounts.
Weird. I play the PS4 version on PS5 and I have gotten the charm 2-3 days ago. I don't own the Chapter, only The Onryō
-
Nurse isn't the hardest Killer in the game imo. Billy is the hardest and Blight the second hardest, with Nurse being the third hardest.
I'd move Pinhead to low A or even B tier. He's not that hard to play as you're usually not going to use his chain unless you want to lose distance.
I'd move Artist and possibly Huntress one tier higher.
Deathslinger should be lower B or C tier. Ever since his nerf, he's better at zoning than actually shooting.
Hag, Plague Demogorgon and Twins could go up 1 tier
-
It's probably just a random occurrence that has like a 30% chance of happening. I don't think the devs would make getting a charm too complicated
-
I main Demogorgon. There's no way I'm bad

SBMM never works

You don't even have to be bad yourself to get a string of deaths. Sometimes matchmaking gives you players who don't do gens or go down instantly against the killer. Game can be really rough as a solo player at times.
I rarely get bad Survivors in SoloQ tbh. SoloQ being bad is blown way out of proportion imo
-
Maybe you're just bad? I escape the overwhelming majority of my matches
-
Do the box and you'll see just how bad Pinhead is
-
It isn't that big of a deal. I still reliably get Hooks even with Boil Over
-
"Bored of Survivors
that escape"
Or in other words: "I don't like losing!"

"Imagine playing with friends, despicable. Delete SWF!!1!"

Godforbid that someone engage in a little bit of harmless hyperbole on the internet...
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2858418#Comment_2858418
These numbers are completely thrown off by newer players, much as Nurse has a sub 50% kill rate on the 'official' stats.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2858323#Comment_2858323
Honestly, don't bother with Hoarder. Unless you're on a tiny map, it won't buy you enough time to pressure the box unless you're already able to predict it's spawn location - in which case you don't really need Hoarder.
You'd be much better off with info (Discordance is never a bad perk), lethality (Devour is great on him, plus his mori is one of the best in the game) or regression (PR+DMS is amazing on him).
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2857222#Comment_2857222
I'd hesitate to call him 'bad'.
Clown is bad.
Onryo is bad.
Pig is bad.
Trapper is bad.
Cenobite is just a comfortable 'B' tier killer. He's not going to be flattening tourney comps like Nurse or Blight can, but he does have a decent toolkit.
B tier is way too generous for a Killer that relies solely on RNG.
Pinhead is map, tile, Add-on and Survivor dependant.
Pinhead isn't going to be able to do anything on a bad map.
Pinhead's chains won't do anything if the Survivors loop him at a safe loop or even a jungle gym.
Pinhead needs Add-ons to work. Impaling Wire deals with one of his biggest weakness. If Pinhead isn't using that Add-on, his 1v1 is worse than Freddy's.
Good Survivors, even SoloQ, will deal with Pinhead easily. Splitting up on gens and going for the box every minute or so is not a problem. The only way for Pinhead to shine is if he's going against bad Survivors
-
People are allowed to complain about tunneling and camping. They're not fun for the Survivor/s.
Complaining about them from a balance perspective is different
-
SoloQ can really be pain sometimes. Not often, but the times it does sucks, it REALLY sucks
-
Pre-dropping Pallets is a smart move when used correctly, why shouldn't they pre-drop?
-
Play Demogorgon. Like Freddy but better on every regard
-
Seeing complaints about Demogorgon fills me with pain

what does condemned have to do with CoH????
I don't know either, but whenever CoH isn't present, I get more Condemnation Mori's than whenever CoH is present
-
She's not that fun to play against. There's nothing new about her kit so playing agaisnt her feels the same
-
Unfun just because teammates kill themselves immediately
-
Freddy
Worse than Demogorgon in every regard

I don't agree with the tier list, but the most mind boggling placement is Nemesis in A tier... Above Demogorgon, who does everything Nemesis does but better
-
Inconsistent. Whenever CoH wasn't brought into the Trial, I get 3 Condemnation Mori's. If CoH is present, then it's between 0 and 1

No

No

Stopped reading when you said CoH got nerfed hard. Stop spreading misinformation, please?
-
Freddy
Why should I play him when he's Demogorgon but worse in every regard?
-
Why does it matter with which Killer I am camping? As long as it's the smartest move I can pull, I'll do it
-
Pinhead has been bad since release
-
Decisive Strike delays tunneling and that's all is should do, it shouldn't make tunneling obsolete because you'd have yet another Perk that removes a whole playstyle
-
3 and 4
-
Nemesis isn't really built for any other playstyle. His Power hurts him if he stops tunneling one Survivor thanks to the 3 Health States Survivors have, 4 if you count Dead Hard

My opinion would be that a secondary objective needs to be useful enough to winning the game that players will want to perform that secondary objective. However, it can't be required or it becomes a primary objective.
From a game design perspective, I feel like chests tended to be better secondary objectives for survivors, if the developers were wanting to slow down gen speeds. It seemed like killers complained about chests less but survivors were still willing to do them. However, if you throw in the complaints about keys, maybe it wasn't.
I have realized something, if boons were added as "time wasters" for survivors, does that mean that "scourge hooks" were added as time wasters for killers?
Then rework Boons from the ground up and make them useful while having counterplay. With how Boons currently work, you either get something on the level of CoH or something like Dark Theory.
They need a rework to be reliably strong and counterable.
Scourge Hooks were probably intended to be 'time wasters' for the Killer, as their spawns are random and aren't guaranteed to be the closest possible Hook or even nearby.
They're better as a secondary objective than Boons because they are 'strong' with most of them doing something 'impactful', while working exactly like normal Hooks and having the same counters with a few special ones, like unreliable spawns, sabotaging and breaking for the remainder of the Trial once a Survivor is sacrificed upon a Scourge Hook
-
@The_Krapper said:
I agree with you, only bad survivors run that junk and it doesn't help in the long run anyway you're just stalling the game out because totems and gens spawn close to each other most of the time and any killer that plays normally at an average level will eventually see the totem checking gens and snuff it so lets say it has to be relit twice in a game and survivors are constantly healing instead of doing gens because they can't run the killer well and need that extra hit, I mean right there you've probably tacked at least five minutes on to the match because of the relighting, healing and traversing the map everytime to go heal in the boon area and if the killer has any sort of gen regression on and survivors play like that it's at least a 15 minute match if they all dont die first , rushing gens with adrenaline will always be stronger than circle of healing.
Then you are the facing the bad Survivors.
No one in their right mind would bless a Totem next to an unfinished Generator, unless they want to lose the game. The Survivors that know how strong CoH bless a Totem on the outskirts of the map, guaranteeing that snuffing the Boon Totem would be a net los for the Killer.
Combine CoH with Dead Hard on good Survivors and you got yourself and almost unwinnable game with any Killer other than Nurse and Blight
-
My biggest gripe with Boons is that they're a bandaid fix that can be completely ignored.
Boons were added to act as a secondary objective. That's fine and all but Survivor can just... not equip a Boon Perk and still have no secondary objective, and for them to be used, they need to be better than the current meta, which only CoH is.
The devs would need to add a mandatory secondary objective if they want Survivors off gens, unless they're ok with releasing a Boon Perk on the level of CoH every few months
