I don't think they can or should ban people for something that is a break on the devs side. It isn't like they've done something to their game client to get an advantage.
It's like the Blast Mine bug where you go out of body sometimes. Invisible and able to unhook and open gates. I didn't plan for it to happen but it was funny as hell.
for this bug to happen people have to purposely doing something they don't do in a normal gameplay loop.
not to mention that if the bug is triggered accidentally, a person is 100% aware that it's a bug and the choice to exploit it or not is up to them.
anybody who uses locker bug deserves their punishment.

They can always ignore these questions instead of giving meaningless answers, they can set a particular topic or ban certain topics, instead they give meaningless answers nobody wants to hear.
-
buff haste and make it activate when you get endurance for healing.
and add an extra activation condition similar to WGLF

How about we wait when his tail is bug fixed before asking for nerfs, hm? His cooldown is bugged atm. He is definitly NOT moving 2.0 m/s atm.
well, that's what OP basically suggests.
Whip rn has no proper punishement for missing whatsoever due to a bug. Fix that and it's all fine.

my arc is complete too.

idk where all those endless xeno games are.
all I get is everything but xeno.
Spent the entire day playing survivor, got xeno only twice and one time the server crashed before we even played the game and in another game teammate tried to kms on hook and then idled, despite us doig well.

@Xendritch said:
Almost everyone said the tail felt horrible when you missed with it. But I think most of us were expecting a .5 to .75 second buff on the cool down the increased movement speed instead was...a choice.
Some people were worried about the turrets but realized they were fine with add-ons. I'm guessing they nerfed the turrets and the add-ons accordingly to prevent a situation where everyone was only running the same two add-ons.
I have no idea why tunnel movement was buffed however everyone seemed fine with that.
tunnel movement speed actually feels nice.
the only thing that should stay. it doesn't change much to be nerfed, but it makes this killer feel so nicer and smoother

I'll always prefer indoor maps but oh well at least the two recent outdoor ones were really cool Singularity and Nostromo so I don't mind. Hope the next outdoor maps will be as cool or better especially if Predator turns out to be true.
as singularity main I would rather not see another indoor map.
as xeno main, however..

RPG is one of my favorite maps since I love Resident Evil and I love indoor maps so I definitely wouldn't mind. I love indoor maps in horror themed games although I do enjoy the Singurity and Nostromo outdoor maps because they look cool with the other worldy appearance.
well, either way devs said they wanted to avoid that and I totally get why.

So disappointed the claustrophobic feeling of alien was abandoned when they made the map a crashed ship instead of one floating in space
Im glad we didn't get a second RPD, though part of me wishes for full Nostromo, granted how great the pieces look inside.
IMO, the best way to get space ship map would be Sevastopol if Alien owners ever decide to give us another map. It's big enough on the inside to be playable, but simultaneously claustrophobic enough to keep the intended feeling.
Though it would still be second RPD
-
I just hope they don't make him sluggish like other m2 killers or make him into second singularity.
They just need to revert him to PTB state and he'd be fine, minus qol and tunnel changes (turret aura revealed while burning you, +2 meter m/s in tunnels).
-
I escaped a bunch of xenos and would've escaped more if my teammates didn't throw the moment they show xeno / got downed.
-
Maybe it is for the best
Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game in which four resourceful survivors face off against one ruthless killer. Developed and published by Behaviour Interactive. This subreddit is not owned, operated, or moderated by Behaviour Interactive.I've been playing Rapid brutality singularity and it's glorious experience, though judging by survivors' reactions they don't share this attitude.

Xeno is very fun to go against but bad teammates make it miserable it's like wraith or dredge where you do not want to be injured against this killer but nobody seems to realize that yet and getting a heal in soloQ is ######### impossible because we need to slow walk around the map instead for some reason.
The only thing I'm not a fan of is I think the slow emergence out of a tunnel needs a lingering effect after an unhook it seems like it's gone the instant the unhook happens which makes it somewhat ineffective as an anticamping mechanic. But besides that Xeno is probably my favorite killer to go against tied with Dredge, Singularity and Demo.
yeah, pretty much it.
I really hope people would just realize that keeping turrets up 24/7 is the priority so that teammates have all intended resources in chase and that they would not place turrets like landmine traps that take zero time to deal with and are super easy to spot.
I've met a bunch of 200 iq players against me who were really smart about placing turrets and that was difficult to play against.

Alright, so I learned a counter to his tail, which is to just hug a circular area, since the Alien's tail has a lot of collision, you can literally loop things without windows or pallets, and take it to the edges of the map.
not the best idea, but you can waste more of xeno's time.
best way is to keep distance and break los as much as possible, while making your pathing through the turrets so they distract xeno and give you more distance or burn him out of the power which is equally good
-
Because xeno is bugged and the main counterplay against good xeno doesn't work half of the time + people are still bad at applying the counterplay whatsoever
-
use turrets.
tail isn't meant to be consistently countered by itself, it's a punishment for you for failing to apply any means of avoiding it - xeno's power grants killer the agency of getting a hit in close range.

Feels like playing OG black cloth ghostie outfit and white mask vs the bush camo skin with scarecrow mask. Pay to lose (the black cloth doesn't blend well with most maps, the cloth is very loud, and the white mask truly makes you stand out), but boy is it just more thematically fun to play as vs the camo and the quieter outfit.
bad example though because og cloth ghostie is literally p2w skin because it doesn't have the flying straps like most other skins & it is very dark so it's harder to spot ghostface on most dark maps.
-
It doesn't take away much from stealth aspect because she's pretty much the same size as default xeno while in crawler mode.
Even if she was pay 2 lose, it doesn't really matter because the amount of disadvantage you get is inconsequential unless you're a competitive player playing in tournaments which you, I assume, are not.

To be more on topic, I do want an update post. I think it's frustrating to wait until the day of the patch to find out what changes, if any, are being made. For me, it could make or break buying the DLC, because the state of the game right now feels pretty bad and I don't see much point in buying DLC if there's no sign of improvement.
it's also really weird from them to promise better communication and keep radio silence despite new characters / their perks having issues that need addressing.
-
@Xendritch said:
I wouldn't be surprised if there's barely any changes and certainly not enough to warrant a blog post from the ptb, Xeno seemed mostly fine tbh.
not like there weren't perks or addons that really needed changes for the better

The big glaring issue from the PTB that I wanted an update on was Xeno's tail attack being properly treated as a special attack. No Play With Your Food tokens were lost from succesful tail attacks in the PTB.
It's still Monday. I'll wait and see.
that was a bug which would be fixed 100%.
no way this way a balance decision

They did this with Nick Cage Patch also. They didnt release a dev log till the day before the patch came out. The reason why I think is there just isnt any major changes being made from PTB to Live. With the Nick Cage patch, barely anything was changed from PTB so we didnt get a dev log till the day before that only covered the one or two minor changes they did. I feel this chapter will be more or less the same. There just weren't enough major changes from the ptb to post one ahead of time.
post-ptb changes there were major though, they literally did almost a second rework to Sadako which turned her into a low mmr monster.

Is Nemesis having a different power originally something the devs has said or is that just speculation on your part?
We know that they've confirmed that they tried to give Xeno a wall crawling ability early on, but due to how much of an enourmous task it was, as well as being a risk gameplay wise, they dropped it.
I feel like the point isn't that xeno was supposed to have a different power altogether, but that the current design we ended up with feels lacking something.
-
Like:
Everything except crawler mode visuals / balance.
Dislike:
Crawler mode visuals / balance. They should've kept tail attack to bipedal mode and switch it places with crawler mode - when xeno gets burned, he enters crawler mode in which he's walking on all 4s and has reduced terror radius, while his tail attack is on recharge.
Other than that, I really hope they buff crawler mode somehow because 8 meter tr reduction and a different nemi whip isn't enough to warrant a counterplay like flamethrowers which is essentially another resource survivors have in chase to you against you. Since they don't plan to give haste to crawlers mode, I think they should give action speed increase to it, so xeno is also good at dealing with predrops / chasing survivors in windows.

Out of genuine curiosity, what relevance would you say it would have if it were posted earlier?
It'd be the same patch notes leading to the same update, after all.
people would actually have some time to learn about to changes after ptb and prepare for them.
look what happened when sadako's major post-ptb changes weren't revealed until the very last day.

also that makes this entire thread moot because they still have the monday.
it doesn't because it's pointless to post that info on monday when it has zero relevance as patchnotes would be dropped the very next day.

Bit of an overreaction, ngl.
The changes dropping earlier than release changes nothing about the released product. Hell, it's even releasing a day earlier than usual.
Besides, for all we know there isn't much changing to begin with. Xeno certainly didn't need any major number changes, as far as I could tell.
making a post with a complaint is an overreaction?
plz dont act like im throwing threats or stuff like that. my reaction is totally valid here.
-
rapid brutality is only good on Singularity, because this killer is one of the few who can instantly restart a chase and utilize movement speed difference increase to get a quicker second hit, while also not suffer from BL penalty as Singularity doesn't use bloodlust.
-
i really wish more chase themes were like nurse's.
they are more made to suit the gameplay rather than to suit the character, even though they aim for both.

What's funny is according to the unofficial stats posted earlier in the thread she does in fact have the highest kill rate
nightlight stats aren't the most accurate ones, imo, but sometimes they correlate well with official ones.
-
bet sadako is going to have one of the highest killrates lmao
-
that level of coping and gatekeeping is insane
-
resi is just as annoying as MfT, but I'd rather deal with faster vaults than with 3% because the latter is way more versatile and it really mainly hurts only walking speed chase killers like Trapper, Wraith, Knight or Singularity.
-
EMPs are fine in their current state. Im telling you that as a p100 Singularity main. Nerfing them even more is going to make this killer even more oppressive than he already is. All changes he needs are QoL changes / minor buffs to increase consistency of his crossmap mobility which would help this killer stray away from very defensive territorial playstyle.
If I were to change anything about Singularity, it would be these 2 things:
- Removed slowdown penalty for exiting camera near hook - because that just hurts the smoothness of his gameplay and serves no purpose when there's already a different mechanic preventing camera camping. Singularity using his camera to "insidious camp" is camping suboptimally. Main use of cameras near hooks is to quickly access the network and find a new target to infect / tp to / walk to.
- Reduced the cooldown after infecting people to 1.5 seconds - that would achieve 2 things: 1) help singularity spread slipstream faster when he finds multiple survivors in one place 2) make not spending EMP to destroy a pod near gen a way more riskier strat, making survivors either spend EMPs to deal with reboot timer which helps Singularity get more pressure or have to find a cover before cleansing / disabling biopod. Overall that would significant boost Singularity's crossmap mobility, while not buffing his 3 gen potential as when this killer is 3 genning he is always generally close enough to replace the pod / infect survivor without relying on already placed pod as he can create a new one.
If that stuff is implemented, this killer would be perfect.
Stuff like fixing awful detection / making TPing to people take priority over placing a pod goes without saying.
Ofc they could do stuff like "EMP'd slipstream effect stays on survivor but disappears after a short period of time / after singularity teleports to that survivor once" but I feel like that would create numerous issues.

I hope they realese the developer update soon, they need to buff Ellen's perks, they are all trash, and nerf alien's purple addon that increases vaults by 30% while in running mode
tbh, i'd make some of that addon basekit alongside extra breaking speed in runner mode.
rn it feels really underwhelming for a power that has built-in counterplay capable of disabling it to the point you'd rather drop chase instead of waiting for it to recharge or forcing a slowdown on you if you deal with it. ive already seen good killer players 1v1ing on this killer and survivor being able to run xeno for a decent amount of time by simply not giving it a chance to use the tail.
-
agreed.
devs should really at least TRY to skip a chapter and make up with different kind of content.
like, I wouldn't mind if they actually took some time to implement working 1v1 gamemode that is just as playable as regular 1v4 and introduced it instead of another filler chapter to fill the schedule.
or made some REALLY generous collection (and probably event alongside it) or skins that really change the characters a lot.
or dished out a full fleshed visual/gameplay rework of skull merchant and made an event to give that a lore justification.
-
no, the game looks horrible with them.

Comp players like this are why dbd is in such an unfun state. Meta perks come and go maybe chill out. It's supposed to be a fun party game. Let's try and get back to the fun. This perk was only created because of how comp killer side of dbd has become.
though I agree with your opinion, I don't think that MfT is one of those "fun" things that should stay. You could make that argument about dead hard because despite how unfair it was (still is, tbh, but less powerful), it was an active perk that was very fun to use and created a lot of cool situations.
MfT, on the other hand, doesn't do any of that. It just gives survivor a plain boost that messes up with killer's perception of hit range and allows survivor to loop killers longer.
Not only that, this perk also specifically affects the most those killers who aren't that strong in the first place. Dead hard was unfair against m1s, but it also worked well against Nurse or Blight. MfT does nothing against high tier killers, but it's extremely powerful against lower tier killers.
Second part of MfT is just stupid as well, you don't have to earn it, it just exists and allows survivors to play extremely recklessly even though that shouldn't be enabled.

I`d love if we could have a prestiged version of the legendary/ultra rare skins. Even if it came on later prestige levels than 3-6

It's a good point about the scaling of his skill curve. He's just not that threatening to survivors who are optimizing the game. Slipstream and Overclock will be oppressive to survivors who don't always have EMPs and don't path well. EMP the first Slipstream, pre-drop+W through Overclock. Don't do gens without an EMP. There's nothing Singularity can do about that.
And there are better macro killers. Twins are straight up better. Hag has the same amount of map presence with range add ons and less micro-management. Plus she's better at downing survivors with good trap placement.
It's a shame. It's mostly the EMPs holding him back, because they essentially amount to the killer going AFK for 10-15 seconds every time they go off, and they go off multiple times per trial. His power isn't in any way shape or form strong enough to warrant a built in counter as strong as EMPs.
Yeah, there are macro killers like Twins who do scale pretty well and then there are killers like Sadako or Singularity who basically have a very definite limit of pressure their power can generate which caps very fast with sadako and not so fast with Singularity. Bad players can't do anything, while good enough players don't really have hard time because they win pretty much mathematically.
Tbh, all killers lose mathematically to optimal enough survivors, but for most killers to reach that level of survivors (esp for high tier killers) is nigh impossible, it would take high tier competitive survivors to mathematically beat killers like blight or nurse, but it doesn't take too much to be more optimal than sheer numbers of Singularity or Sadako because that's all they have.

This. He's not difficult. At least I don't think so. But if you're good enough at the game to play him well, there's also zero reason to play him because there are far better killers that require the same or less effort.
he is difficult in a sense he's extremely exhausting.
it's not that hard to learn to quickly place cameras & use slipstream TP. You eventually sharpen that to the point of doing it automatically. The problem is that you have to do absurd amount of actions to get mid results.
Speaking of results, this killer is one of those killers who scale very poorly with one's skill because you can't really down survivors any faster once you get good enough. It's always a set timer every time you TP in which survivor either uses a pallet/window and then they either make it to another pallet so you have to TP again and restart the process or they don't and you get a hit. A lot depends on how survivor plays, in the end you're just M1 killer who can eat pallets very well and doesn't care about shift+w`ing. Which, by itself, is not bad by any means, but the amount of effort you have to put (Not skill, effort) is absurd.
Actually tricky and skill dependant part is his macro gameplay, but even it boils down to just sweating profusely while dragging the match you could've finished in 7 minutes as Wesker to absurd 10-15 minutes because you can't really win faster if survivors aren't dumb. There's just a limit at which you realize no matter how well you play, this killer's supposed unlimited potential is very limited and this limit is very achievable on contrary to other high tier killers. And then you just start wondering what was the point of playing this killer or making him like that?
Bad players won't be able to manage playing him because he requires very good map knowledge and awareness, very high macro and decent micro skill and good players would get way better results for way less effort by playing other killers.
I really love Singularity, I like playing this killer a lot, but the more I play him, the less I want to actually play him and more I want to just sit in the lobby or watch my old gameplays. Because watching 10 minute game feels like watching 5 minute game, while playing it feels like an hour.
Really looking forward to the Alien, because even though this killer isn't devoid of issues, at least he offers some actual consistency and reward for skill.

Having a hard time is something quite literally every killer has to deal with if we're talking about good Survivors, and thats how it should be. No reason why Survivors trying their absolute hardest should be barely making it out against a killer who's messing around, the reverse also applies and that is very much the case the majority of the time.
you don't really get what im talking about, do you?
ofc all killers begin to have harder time keeping up with survivors, but they still maintain some of their consistency. Singularity exponentially loses any resemblance of consistency the better survivors get to the point he has to resort to the sweatiest forms of 3 genning to win, which you said is not how this killer should be played.
honestly, im getting tired talking to you, you make an impression of somebody who uses forums more than he plays the game and judging by what you say, that's definitely the case with you and the singularity.
