Okay so what. You have no point. All they did was make a new story to explain why he's gay. People have also said if they made a new character they'd be tokenism. So what's the difference?
Still waiting on your evidence.

It's tokenism either way. Tell me how it isnt.
Not how it works. Burden of proof is on you to dispute the official claim. But I'll entertain you anyways, since you're struggling with this. BHVR wrote an entire tome's worth of stories for him and his backstory in collaboration with GaymerX to build it into the story.
Anyways, try again.

Okay...they made a character gay because they wanted to make a gay character. I think that's the proof. And do note it's been revealed they didn't only look at David..they also looked at the other Survivors to see which they wanted to make gay...they just decided David would become gay.
Still not hearing a single piece of evidence. Making a gay character because they want to make a gay character does not mean it is tokenism. Try again.

I mean...look at the other David posts and their Twitter...
That's not proof, try again. If anything, that is literally proof against you, given the effort they put into it.
-
@Bran said:

With David they've essentially just labelled Him as gay for representation.
Feel free to give any actual real proof of that.

Every character is LGBT+ until confirmed otherwise.
-
"Why do characters have to be confirmed gay?"
It's almost like the automatic assumption the "default" is being cisgender heterosexual is flawed and not having more explicitly confirmed LGBT+ characters commonly is what helps fuel said misconception, cause for some reason, people automatically think anyone not confirmed is cisgender heterosexual.
And then you have some people who actually understand that and say it should be left unconfirmed, specifically so they can pretend it doesn't exist since it's not confirmed.
-
Yui as lesbian/bi/pan would be pretty sweet and would fit her lore nicely as well.
Heck, every single character can be LGBT+.
-
Voice chat is much harder to moderate and is much easier to be toxic on than a cooldown-restricted ping wheel. Or do you support an immediate permanent ban for any voice chat toxicity whatsoever on the first offense so that toxic players don't cause problems for others?

Like I say mute them block them!!! The game is toxic ether way... Muting the toxic person does not effect the whole team.
Or, the toxic players can grow up and quit being toxic.

Are you kidding me???
Why should someone else have to reduce their ability to communicate with teammates because the toxic player can't be a decent human being?

P.S there is a mute button!!!
Responsibility should not be on the victim to make up for toxic people.
-
I think a ping wheel with a cooldown on pings (to prevent spamming) would be better for avoiding toxicity.
-
what
-
Have you considered stuff in the game exists to be used and that it's none of your business what people choose to run and play within the rules? Grow up.
-
I don't see how a baby would be able to participate in the trials.

Nah

Every character is LGBT+ until confirmed otherwise.

You might be right. IF maps weren't the way they were.
Do you consider basekit nurse ok on red forest ? Groaning ? 4 out of 5 cold winds ? Badhams ? Because I don't
Her movement is SLOWER then 4.6 m/s. I'm sorry. But a strong chase power doesn't make up for terrible movement.
Her range add ons DO make her usable and fair though. Given the maps. The extra movement makes it so you don't have to make decisions on camping or not. To tunnel or not. You can traverse the map. And seek out others
Big maps need to be reduced in size, survivors need to spawn together or in pairs, and tile RNG needs an adjustment. Distance add-ons also need an adjustment as does three blinks.

vaults currently doesnt have a proper validation system as far as i know soo if you get hit from miles aways is either because the killer has bad connection or yourself.
sadly even if you had a good connection doesnt matter because the killer still have high priority on the window hits rather than the server so high ping killers gets more advantage🤦.
(is weird because PALLETS have validation DH have validation but vaults still doesnt have a proper one)🤔
The day that vaults recieved the same treatment , laggy killers are gonna be pissed.😑
It doesn’t have pallet-like validation on purpose because vaults don’t prevent hits like pallets do. But yes do complain more about a topic you don’t understand.

No, I just think a player having a choice is better.
If it were to be default, fair enough but I think BHVRs decision to make it a choice is much better and respectable.
I said as much in my response to @Lochnload_exe (sorry for the tag)
Bigots shouldn't get a choice.

I think you're being a bit unfair here. They did state that they don't have an issue if the charms were automatically included in accounts vs downloading via a code.
Uh, have you read their posts? They are expressly against it because of some moronic "lack of choice" for something they don't even have to use.

Completely misrepresenting my point.
If you want to remove that exclusivity, you want to minimise the impact of supporting LGBT+, you want to make it forgettable and unnoticed.
It should be, in an ideal world, but that's not what you're getting at is it?
What on earth are you talking about? It does not change the people equipping it from still equipping it. Supporting LGBT+ SHOULD BE THE DEFAULT. Why in the hell should it be behind some sort of special code unlock? Imagine unironically thinking supporting LGBT+ is some kind of special thing. 🤡
@Brokenbones said:

"Gives the option to actively refuse it"
Yeah I remember when I loaded in, I got a prompt that said "Do you support LGBT, Click yes for the charm and click no if you're a bigot"
I think BHVRs way of doing it is perfectly fine, that's all I have to say since you're clearly very set in your ways, refuse to see anyone else's point of view or think I'm a bigot for simply thinking putting a choice in the player's hands is a respectable one, not something to be changed.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935429#Comment_2935429
I appreciate you being respectful about it, it wasn't my intention to argue against the actual subject of the charms and what not. I just think it's not something that needs to be changed and is perfectly fine as is
If they decide to do it, fair enough but i don't necessarily think there's anything wrong with it being a player choice thing. I'm not gonna make examples because I mean no disrespect to anyone - this thread (And more importantly how OP went about it) just rubbed me the wrong way.
Okay, so you have no excuses other than you support bigots. Glad to know. Thanks for letting me know engaging with you further on this is a waste of time, since you aren't going to bother giving even a single reason for something you can so easily say isn't bigotry. LMAO 🤡
-
@Seraphor said:
Plus, I find being able to redeem a code adds a layer of illusory exclusivity that makes it seem more prominent and 'special'.
By reducing the charms to bog standard default charms, you lose more than you gain.
Um. Supporting LGBT+ should not be some sort of special exclusivity, what the #########?

@Brokenbones said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935412#Comment_2935412
And likewise you can't provide any actual reasoning for why the current way BHVR is doing it is actually bad (The codes never expire and it's very easy to learn of their existance), and the majority of your arguments are based on "lol own the bigots" while generalising people who might not want to redeem some code or have some charm added to their account they aren't interested in
Again, I'm not denying bigots play this game, the whole David fiasco showed a lot of true colours and I don't support that kind of behaviour.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935416#Comment_2935416
Thank you. An actual good point
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935418#Comment_2935418
But what's wrong with giving people a choice then?
Some optional charms you got for engaging with an event, something you didn't have to do
A lot of other things are given through codes, something you don't have to do
I just think it's a respectable decision on BHVRs part to let the players decide how much they are interested, that's all. I don't get why people need to throw around the word bigot. Just ain't right to me but I am an opinionated person at the end of the day
Because bigots shouldn't get a say in inclusivity. The current method BHVR is doing it is not that inclusive, given it gives the option to actively refuse it. You gonna give a reason or are you going to quit pretending you have any excuses? Should be so easy to give a reason right? Given how obsessively you are defending the ability to actively deny it.

What's your problem, did you make this thread expecting everyone to blindly agree with you or was it your intention to just throw bad faith arguments at anyone who disagreed from the start?
Still waiting for an actual proof-of-evidence to back up your nonsensical claims.
What reason other than bigotry, does someone have to actively want the completely free and optional-to-equip charms to not be in their account?
If you can't give a reason, then just stop, it's embarrassing. Supporting bigots is cringe.

I'm defending BHVRs decision to give players a choice.
Strawman me all you want, nowhere have I defended bigotry in any fashion. It's a video game charm.
Yeah, the choice for people who actively do not want the charm to be supported. Congratulations.

@Brokenbones said:

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the current way BHVR is doing it.
If you want it, you can have it - whenever you want it.
If you don't, you don't have to.
I stand by this. BHVR put the choice into the players hands and it was completely the right decision.
Asking BHVR to make a change to "own the bigots" is kinda hilarious ngl to you. No offence intended
Still not hearing a reason other than "bigots will not want it". Why are you so insistent on defending bigots? Or do you have an actual reason that someone would not want completely free optional-to-equip charms they can just not use if they don't want to?
-
@Brokenbones said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935366#Comment_2935366
Very narrow minded point of view, but that's okay you're entitled to it
Personally I respect BHVR for leaving it up to the player whether or not they're interested
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935381#Comment_2935381
That's the thing though, I'm seeing people throwing around the word bigot over a video game charm that BHVR has intentionally went out of their way to go "hey, it's here if you want it and it'll always be available"
The codes never expiring is proof of that.
I just don't think it's fair to say "lol if ur against the charms being default ur prolly just a bigot". While I'm positive that's true for some, it's silly to be so broad. I thought broad generalisations were a bad thing.
People who don’t care either way will not care about extra bonus charms they don’t even have to equip. People who actively don’t want the charms will complain. People who actively don’t want them have no actual excuse except bigotry.
-
@Brokenbones said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935357#Comment_2935357
That's not my point whatsoever
My point is the charms are currently optional and BHVR puts the decision in the hands of the player whether they want them or not. I don't see what's so wrong with that?
Maybe some people just aren't interested, so they don't redeem the codes.
I’m not hearing a reason other than “bigots will cry” which is always a good thing. The only people who would have problems are those that actively don’t want it, not those who are not interested, since the latter wouldn’t care anyways.
-
@Brokenbones said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935346#Comment_2935346
Seems a little unfair to say people who aren't interested in these (at the moment) optional charms to be labelled a bigot lol
What's wrong with the current way of just letting people who want it, have it and those who don't, don't.
What actually good non-bigoted reason is there to not want completely free bonus cosmetics supporting LGBT+? I’ll wait.
-
@Mooks said:
There would be people complaining about it and probably some would state they aren’t capable of playing the game anymore. It’s okay for the charms to be optional, the codes will never expire so if they see the charms and want them they can easily find out about the codes.
Bigots having to deal with it or quit? Sounds like a win in my book.
-
It’s not about the vault hitbox, it’s how long your character takes to go through. You can be hit through a window cause it means the killer just shoved their arm through to hit you. So you aren’t safe until you completely clear and leave the vault area by another margin.
-
Y’know. If you want people to actually consider your claims that Nurse overperforms as anything other than opinionated nonsense, you should probably give actual meaningful evidence to back them up.
-
There’s nothing inherently wrong with anti-loop. If anything, every single killer should have it. The only issue really is the way it is designed.
On one hand you have anti-loop like Nurse/Blight/etc where it allows for mindgaming from both sides, and thus allows the more skilled player at mindgaming to succeed in trades. However, making unique and mindgameable anti-loop powers like this is difficult. However, this is the ideal design.
On the other hand, you have anti-loop like Nemesis and similar where it is just “M2 for a hit at a vault or pallet drop animation lock”. There is really no way to avoid the M2 other than to not put yourself in an animation lock, but by not vaulting or dropping the pallet, you will get hit a few seconds later anyways. Thus, while this kind of power is very easy to create, it also gives next to no agency, and thus becomes the just “hold W until hit” strategy because attempting to vault or pallet drop is an automatic hit.
-
Bait gets boring when it’s the same old formula over and over.

No, I suppose you're right that not everything needs a hard counter. But as a survivor player, I feel frustrated by how intense this new version of Hemorrhage is.
Most frustrating of all though, personally, is how it makes Resurgence useless, and it's a perk I like a lot. That's my main gripe, to be honest with you!
Resurgence isn’t useless if you finish the heal. If you’re in a situation where the killer keeps coming after you quick, you can go with options to heal faster. Eg, medkits or heal speed perks on you or friends or whoever. Hemorrhage finally has an actual impact for once, it’s at the point where it should be.
-
people when they realize gay men can have girlfriends because they did not realize they were gay at that point in time, or as cover from homophobic parents/etc:
People who have an issue with this stuff need to get over themselves and grow up.
-
It’s called finish the heal or don’t start when you know you can’t finish it. There doesn’t need to be a hard counter to everything, and hard counters are usually bad design anyways, because it means a gameplay mechanic or whatnot takes precedence over player skill. It’s not even strong enough to warrant any nerf whatsoever. Reducing the regression rate would make it garbage.
-
If you can’t handle a game not going the way you want, don’t queue up. Uninstall the game instead of ruining it for 4 other people.
-
First of all, tunneling/camping/slugging aren’t toxic. Second of all, if the game is getting you that upset, it’s a good idea to take a break. I did it in the past when DBD used to tilt me and now I’m at a point where I am untiltable.
-
Mass generalizing sides is bad.
-
There’s nothing wrong with having more difficult and high skill ceiling characters, the same way there’s nothing wrong with characters for beginners. She’s also in a spot of perfect design and balance with the exception of three blinks/distance add-ons. Animation changes might be fine, but I also don’t trust it to not mess stuff up.
-
She’s in a spot of perfect design basekit, her only problems are distance addons and three blinks.
-
Have you considered the answer to reducing camping in a healthy way is to buff not doing so instead of incentivizing people just hook diving in his face?
-
I wonder what could possibly be the problem with rewarding a survivor for messing up in chase and going down if it was even the slightest bit remotely reliable solo.
-
Way above. I can learn from what better players do.
