I genuinely believe nerfed CoH will be brought a lot less as the whole self healing aspect has been removed from it. The unlimited self healing was CoH's main usage tbh. Maybe in swf's CoH will still be a problem as they have comms and 100% healspeed but that's really all I can think of? In solo/duo queue which is most of what survivors play, it will see a lot less usage because it kinda sucks without communication. Although, ig that's just my opinion, I stopped using CoH forever ago and switched to medkits lol and I bring thrill of the hunt to bore booners

With the nerf to Circle of Healing you make a good point, why make Shattered Hope basekit if all the booms aren't that great. though it makes a lot of sense to change the animation, you're literally stepping on the totem.

  • @RareFantom47 said:

Big idea, but make Shattered Hope Base kit. Not the aura reading, just the destroying of totems, and change shattered hope to be this: You see the auras of Boon totems within the trial, after snuffing out the Boon, the totem remains and the auras of all survivors are revealed for 10ish seconds. This makes the perk useful more than 5 times, and destroying totems being base kit feels fairer in my opinion(You can't reignite a hex as killer, but survivors can use boons on the same totem over and over again).

    Tell me what you think!

I could actually agree to this, killers should be able to destroy totems especially for basekit. the animation already looks like that's the case.

  • I see what you're suggesting and so far it sounds brilliant! But this system could backfire if you make too many perks like that.

  • @HungrySnek said:

I know it got nerfed but I don't understand why no one uses it anymore. Knowing where the killer is every 30 seconds sounds still pretty strong and the fact that most killers have at least 1 aura reading perk which let's you know when the killer sees you themselves makes it even better.

Actually, I've come to find that my favorite perk is Object of Obsession, for exactly what you said. It's like a cancel out. Even though your aura is revealed, it doesn't matter unless they're next to you, which you'll know cause of Object. Downsides though are the Obvious, I tend to hide a lot and get caught, but that's human error. :)

Feel free to ignore this, its more of a therapeutic thing for me because I can't really talk with any of these people, they just call me a survivor main and then tell me to cope more...

Killers and especially content creators, this is for you. I hear a whole lot of you out there say things like this a lot and it makes me scratch my head to no end. What the heck does this stuff even mean?

My least favorite attitude that is super pervasive in this whole community right now is the killers acting like they aren't winning the majority of their matches. I'm not an OG legacy player but I have some time under my belt and I can't help but think that you guys seriously either really don't know how crazy unbalanced this game use to be for killers or you just forgot how many god loops existed on every map, how entire teams could escape with a key once they found hatch, how DS was a free escape, how DH let you extend every chase for free, instablind beamers, so much actual BS has been fixed and you still act like we're on the back pedal. Not to mention the actual buffs on attack speed, breaking, ect.

Every single time someone says they just want a chill match or whatever they don't really mean that. A match is as chill as YOU make it. No one is forcing you to 3 gen every game or tunnel out people, you're doing that so you can win without putting in more effort than you really want to. Because the truth is you lack the skills to identify which player is unsafe at which tile because you relied so hard on your perks and tunneling to carry you that you never honed the basics. Just like how the old survivors relied so hard on the old small PP build, you're the same and you not seeing that is starting to become so annoying in the content creator space. You actually see people saying that nerfing healing and getting rid of self care on COH is a killer nerf because that just means people will do gens more than heal. Seriously? They'll be injured more too, if nothing else it will balance out. And yes, the nerfs to the slowdown perks are huge the the 3gen meta is stale as all heck so its kind of warranted

No, "I want a chill match" really just means you want to play bots. Well, bots are in the game now, so you can do that any time you want. Go have the chillest matches ever.

Seriously though. I'm a killer main and I can't be the only one winning most of my matches. I'm not saying this next part to be sanctimonious or bragging, its just the truth. I have close to 2000hrs and 70% or so is just killer. I go out of my way not to tunnel or camp (My personal preference, not an indictment of the strategy) and the only gen perk I use consistently is discordance.

I started playing right about when Ruin got its first big nerf to remove skill check progression. Back then POP became the meta and I was convinced you NEEDED it to play the game well. I used pop, surveillance, and bbq on everyone and it became my safety net. Then, I watched someone play pig and talk about how gen perks really don't teach you the skills to get better in chase or how to organically create pressure from your snowballs. He sort of challenged viewers to stop using slowdown for a while and see if you can still win. So I did and I still do and I'm fairly certain that overall I've become much better in regards to game sense and skill.

This isn't to decry those other tactics. I honestly think people should play however they want to play, more power to them. I'm only stating that I don't use slowdown or camp/tunnel to make the point that I win the majority of my games still. Yes, I also get the 4 man swfs that can knock out every gen in less than 5 minutes but that is far from the norm. Some games you get the worst map RNG possible, the maps are usually the real deciding factor of a W or not. People acting like they have achieved some unholy level of MMR where you only go against 4 man swfs is beyond cringe. So is complaining about those same people though so I guess I'm kinda cringe too, sorry.

Either way, I just wanted to kind of vent a little cause hearing these people on youtube and twitch is really annoying and they are kind of poisoning the well in terms of opinions. The echo chamber is getting really bad and you have these odd communities sprouting up around specific creators that sound so vindictive to survivor players that it feels personal and super vitriolic. Like, I'm all for some Bming and trolling in game on either side but these people make it feel almost cult like with how excited they get when a killer tunnels a survivor out or moris them. Its kind of creepy~

I don't play killer much but I feel that's what the perks are for, you're one killer against four. I'm not trying to say that you have to use perks to be good, but I see why some of them exist. For me, I play whatever I don't consider anything I do or the killers does is "sweaty" per say but the mind games are tough and fun. I understand it seems like a wrote the same thing down but I wouldn't put DBD in a category like that.

Wesker. Nemesis. Wesker. Nemesis. Wesker. Wesker. Wesker. Nemesis.

Are there any other Killers in the game? It's getting really redundant, and it doesn't help that both killers have nasty reputations for tunneling--which my opponents seem more than happy to live up to.

The other day I faced Wesker 5 games in a row.

These RE Killers must make up at least 75% of my Survivor games.

If I'm not going to be matched with players of equal skill level, the least I could ask for is a little variety.

I can understand that's annoying but there's really nothing to do about that... If a lot of people want to play Wesker, then that's what they'll play

Okay so a killer slugs at let's say one gen or zero gens okay it's annoying but hey they at least want a kill go for it but what I want to know is why slug at 4 or 5 gens. The game barely started and already the killer slugs it's basically just having the finishing mori update but a lot less short since if the finishing mori update was done a few seconds of an animation I'm back in the lobby and in the next match. But with the killer slugging at 5 or 4 gens it's me sitting there self recovered at max while everyone is down with one other teammate basically running around. I just want to know why slug at 4 or 5 gens because 1 or none at least makes somewhat sense for trying to get a least one kill because I get it matchmaking is garbage and your just trying to get some BP.

It's a tactic, the killer downs all of you to assure where your at and what your're doing.

add more injury for survivors (when you kill a survivor by your hands, his body is completely healthy) this is a PEGI 18 game already so it wouldn't be an issue.

add unique point of view height for each killer based on the height of their eyes (when you play as Nemesis you don't see yourself as tall as your giant body, which ruins the Nemesis tank feeling)

Dead by Daylight needs some serious horror!

I completely agree with you. What makes this game awesome is the brutal moris, and the little things like the lore. If I'm not mistaken the Hag feels like she has a tiny height difference. but I feel that emersion is the goal, instead of just focusing on the raw game mechanics. (Don't get me wrong game mechanics matter, I'm just trying to say that most developers do the opposite)

If you use both QaQ and CL you should be able to do some interesting plays? If also paired with Lithe and dance with me? Just thinking out loud here 😀

While that is true, Quick and Quiet just feels like it's 1% of the build. Quick and Quiet is only effective at the first vault, and if you're going to run Lithe and Dance With Me, then what's the point of Cut Loose?

  • @Crowman said:

Cut Loose doesn't apply on the first vault, the first vault is just the trigger for all vaults after the first within the 6 seconds of the last vault to be quiet. This can be useful on say Lery's or revaulting at a jungle gym. But a lot of the time you won't get a chance to make a lot of value silent vaults.

Quick and Quiet also works on lockers and being a perk only restricted by the cooldown (and not even a long one) means that it's far easier to get consistent value from the silent vaults.

I see the consistency in Quick and Quiet, but don't see (without Dance With Me) the value... you vault once, but the killer can simply see your scratch marks, unless they're mind gaming themselves. I guess all perks don't have a lot of value by themselves, it just feels like they didn't put a lot of effort in Cut Loose.

  • As a survivor I find enjoyment making dumb builds that miraculously work, (don't get me wrong, sometimes meta builds are fun but I purposely try to find perks that people don't see as much, and when you get value from them... It's amazing) but one thing that makes me love survivor more than anything is that, in this game dying and sacrificing yourself for your team, the strategy is so unique that you just can't think of yourself, sometimes you HAVE to take some initiative... if the trial has to continue with someone on the hook that just want you have to pay because the bottom line is that: there's 4 of you and 1 of him... I think the survivors can take one kill ya know

  • I see your point but then again, it's only 10% and if I'm not mistaken it doesn't continue regressing the generator

  • I think Vigil could use a rework, I wrote a discussion about what I think they should do to it

  • @Jago said:

"Oopsies, we didnt mean that. Let's revert our balance decisions based on "YOUR feedbacks"" :PPP

No offense man but that's what game developers do, they make their game and if their's something that the community doesn't like they experiment to find a solution.
