For every hex that gets cleansed in the first 20 seconds there's a devour hope tucked behind a rock in a corner where no gens or tiles spawn that never gets found. That's the risk of a Hex, sometimes you might not get to use it, and sometimes it wins the game.
100% this. Find a totem on the swamp map or Midwich.
I've been playing a long time. Totems used to be WAY easier to find. The locations now are about as good as it is gonna get.

Mine is 88.

Off the Record and the new Endurance meta say otherwise.
What is the Endurance meta? I Googled it and can't find anything on it.
-
Any updates on this? It's unplayable against the Artist at the moment.
-
- Doctor (he is anti-loop AND anti-stealth and annoying AF)
- Leatherface (the insta-down + camping is obnoxious and only fun for the killer)
- Ghostface (insta-down + no terror radius = no)
- Nurse (because she ignores all the games' physics but survivors can't)
The rest I don't mind unless they are camping or using obnoxious addons/builds.
-
What I find ridiculous is that the chains still hit you when you are trying to solve the box. He can TP to you at any time. You don't need the extra headache especially with the OP addons.
-
I'd love to see a special offering that ONLY works once per GROUP OF SURVIVORS per match. The offering would allow you use a secondary action to touch an uncompleted gen to have it swap places with a completed gen. This would get you out of 3-gen situations, but would delay you because you'd now have to run around the map trying to find the swapped gen. By limiting it to one use by the team per match would be great. It could also only activate when 1 or 2 gens are left. Would be helpful with single-person gens as well.
-
The only one I couldn't would be Claudette, because I wouldn't be able to find her.
-
I'll share my idea for rework again here. Remove tiers 2 and 3 from web. Once you unlock tier 1, you can spend BP to upgrade them to 2 and 3 from perk selection menu. This still makes them a BP sink, but a more predictable one.
-
I would love a boon that makes a terror radius active when the killer is within the boon's range. This would challenge M&A and stealth killers (but can be overcome by snuffing boon; also hearing their own TR might alert them to the boon's presence).
-
I think the way they should get rid of them is this:
You get Tier 1 in the blood web.
Then, from your perk selection menu, you can choose to spend BP to unlock tiers 2 and 3 whenever you want. That way its still a BP sink but it's not interminable going through level 50 webs.
If they make this change, while they are at it, they need to remove the two screens telling us we are on level 50 over and over again.

"unhooks me even though she doesn't have BT"
Well, you did the same in the previous match.
True, but everyone else had left. It was try to save her or exit.
In my random teammates case, all 4 of us were alive and for some reason she thought she could farm me and then one or both of us would get out of that basement. Only she did.

This seems to be fixed now after the most recent 2 updates. Not sure what happened. Thanks.

Here's the strategy . . .
If you spawn by a gen, do that one fast.
When that one's done (or it becomes unsafe to complete), do the middle gen EXCEPT if it is an upstairs gen (like Crotus Prenn or the boat on the swamp). When you get down to 1-2 gens left, it is better to have a gen available where the killer has to climb stairs. Climbing the stairs to chase people off in a 3-gen situation is preferable to any other 3-gen situation. (If the middle gen is an upstairs gen, return to do this gen when there are 1-2 needed to power gates.) Likewise, on Hawkins save either the isolation room or portal room gens until last for the same reasons.
After middle is done (or skipped), the priority is work the next gen you find and skip every other gen as best you can. (Skipping every other gen generally avoids a 3-gen situation.)
Obviously with the above, you have to maintain situational awareness. If you are seeing gens pop only on one-side of the map, move to the other side.
Now, to add to all of this, we have to consider Corrupt Intervention. Corrupt changes things a bit. First, if you get into a chase while Corrupt is up, lead the killer into the Corrupt area. That will leave the non-Corrupt area free for gen work. Second, if you are on a dog bone-shaped map (Suffocation Pit, Azarov's Resting Place, Sanctum of Wrath), it is likely that Corrupt will have impacted exactly one side of the map. That will likely lead to a 3-gen situation. So, you must keep track of when Corrupt will likely have worn off and beeline to that side to do a gen there. If you don't, you will be in a 3-gen with the formally Corrupt side being the location where all of the non-repaired gens are.
Good luck out there!

OP, the answer is "No." For every map someone loves, another hates. There are maps some survivors love like Ormond, that other survivors don't. Run the offering that wipes out all map offerings or run your own map offering as a counter if you are concerned. No need to limit people's offering options.
-
With the long queue times, I'm seeing that eventually the lobby will go to a killer that is in a totally different region, which is unexpected so it might seem like lag-switching but it is region-switching on the server (I think).
-
BHVR has too options (1) make Stridor not work on Iron Will or (2) ban Spirit + Stridor combo.
Why? Because Spirit's only TRUE counter is Iron Will. If she only has to run a perk to counter her one true counter, than it is OP and should be nerfed in some way. Period. The end.
Saying "get gud" or loop is not a true counter so save it killer mains.
-
When I am playing solo, I will dodge a key if I feel like the group is SWF or even a duo. It is not uncommon for those types to leave solo randoms behind.
-
Plague isn't one of the best killers in the game, so she shouldn't be nerfed.
You can stun her out of her red power using pallet stuns or Head On stuns.
Also, she is ranged, so do like you should with other ranged killers and not give them line of sight. When they miss, they suffer a bit of a penalty, so do that enough times and it drags everything out while gens are being worked.
-
Two things should be absolute "No"s:
- No terror radius + one-shot abilities. It is OP and honestly should be nerfed on those who have it.
- 500 abilities in an attempt to make a crap killer good. As many killers as we have, there are bound to be some that are not played much. BHVR should not assume that because a killer isn't played much, he/she isn't good. Stacking 500 abilities on them (ala the Freddy and Doctor reworks) is not how to solve the problem. Recreate them from the ground up.
-
I hope it's licensed although I think the Anniversary patch will definitely be licensed. I want movie characters more than video game ones though.
Chucky is definitely possible now that we have the Twins.
Here's my tier list of ones I'd like to have in game:

As a survivor main, I don't mind it too much. However, I think it is ridiculous for killers to run it during events where you are trying to get event-only items out of chests and escape with them. There have been events where it was really difficult to get the items out of the bloodwebs and your best shot was chests. Please don't run Franklin's during events.
-
If totems spawned where they used to, Undying could have stayed as is. Currently, totems have near infinite spawn points so you can't learn all the locations on the maps now to successfully counter it quickly. Also, without a totem counter in solo queue, it's too much.
Having to cleanse it twice should be more than enough of a delay for you killer mains. If not, add another slowdown perk like corrupt, lullaby, or something.
Don't bother replying or quoting me. I've heard all the killer main whining about my agreement with the Undying nerf. I really don't care. Go play all day as survivor SWF, solo, or otherwise and then come back here and complain about it.
-
I agree with most of the reasons in this thread. The one, however, that I don't agree with is "Well I had a challenge/quest to complete."
No, no, no. You can complete that one next trial. Don't be selfish.
-
Because most hags will put down a trap near the hook, she goes away, and then as soon as unhook occurs, she teleports back to it for camp/tunnel behavior. Then in chat insists it's not camping. But it definitely IS.
-
- Doctor -- no killer should have a base power set that is anti-stealth AND anti-vault. It should be one or the other not both, especially since he also messes with skill checks and causes snap out of it.
- Ghostface -- no killer should have zero terror radius AND able to insta-down as a base. One or the other not both.
- Legion -- the constant mending/healing and the frenzy showing survivor locations is boring AF. They should reboot the killer from the ground up. He should be reworked to focus on him being one of several options. Like have him switch bodies in mid-match and that cause something to change.
BONUS: Leatherface. His reach is ridiculous and should be tweaked.
-
Yes, sandbagging is bad, but just queue up another match. Matches are relatively short when you compare them to other games on the market. If you play for several hours, you are going to play 10 to 20 matches so that is only 1 out of 10-20. Karma will get people who do that to you. Sometimes a killer will see it and tunnel the person who does it.
You can even get your own revenge. If it only results in your first hook, use the time between your second and the end of the match to get even. Drop pallets in front of them. Blow up their gens. Whatever.
As a primarily solo queue player, I've had teams where the whole team was sandbagging me. I proceeded to drop every pallet on the map and get the hatch. Revenge can be sweet!

Hag of course

Item: Hammer
Brown use: Breaks a breakable wall within 10 seconds
Yellow use: Breaks a breakable wall within 5 seconds
Green use: Breaks two breakable walls per match at 10 seconds each
Purple use: Breaks two breakable walls per match at 5 seconds each
Add-ons:
Nails = Decrease break time by 2 seconds
Holster = Increases number of doors by 1
Toolbelt = Do not lose hammer on death
DEVS YOU MAY FREELY USE THE IDEAS CONTAINED IN THIS POST WITH NO ATTRIBUTION OR PAYMENT

Doctor needs a nerf anyway. No killer should have a BASE kit that is both anti-stealth AND anti-vault. One or the other not both (without addons). Add to that snap out of it and bad skill checks again as BASE. Then you add perks and addons to make it worse? No thanks. I know he was in a bad way before but they've swung too far to the other side. He needs to be adjusted.
Killer mains and tryhard survivors don't bother quoting and replying with "you just need to know how to run the Doctor". I already know that and do do that. I just don't think it's balanced. It's overkill as BASE. Make some of those things addon or perk dependent.
-
This map and similarly Rotten Fields and Wrecker's Yard all need to be redone. They are insta-wins for some killers.
They've messed up many other maps with the lazy blocked door = breakable wall. They need to get on this yesterday.
-
OP, your A tier + Bubba is my SS tier. The rest I don't mind going against.
-
I like all the ones in the OP.
I'd also like to see . . .
- A ghostly mansion ala Clue
- A cruise ship ala the haunted Queen Mary
- An abandoned zoo (which could have all kinds of terrain simulating the animals habitats)
- A library or a museum (or both)
-
Because the Doctor's base kit is definitely OP. He can prevent vaulting AND stealth. Not to mention he messes up skill checks. And all of that is base kit. Perks, add-ons, and offerings just make it worse.
My hope is that BHVR eventually makes it so that the doctor can only stop vaulting OR stealth, but not both unless he is using an iridescent. It is overkill. If you have to have nearly 500 abilities to get 4Ks on a character, then maybe redesign him from the ground up rather than piling on ability after ability. No other killer has so many abilities as part of their base kit. It's BS.

I have to disagree, if you play a bit of survivor (my guess is you play it a lot), you won't have a hard time finding totems.
Simply because you should know the spawn points of them by now.
Leaving a guy with ds on the ground you have 3 other factors to worry about namely survivors.
And unlike your totems, they aren't stationary but always moving around.
Meaning if you search for another survivor, most likely 1,2 or 3 survivors will heal him up.
The only reason they nerfed it, is because of lazy survivors who know only 1 thing and that is doing gens.
I play solo survivor and never ever had any problems with undying.
Fun fact, if the killer is very focused on chasing you of the totems, it can backfire on him.
Done that a couple of times, he chases me off and moves to somewhere else and I go back to the totem and we repeat the circle.
I've made them lose the match because of that several times.
Unfortunately, and they don't make it a secret anymore, the devs are very survivor favoured and this react very fast to crying survivors instead of letting them to learn to adept to a different playstyle
Have YOU played survivor recently? They recently reworked the spawn points for totems. There are now near infinite spawn points. Finding 5 is simply TOO much. The change to undying means you need to find TWO and that is a reasonable compromise.
I could give two s* about DS as I don't run it anyway.

leaving someone on the ground is not a counter when they more than likely have unbreakable. that's bs. and no one has to do all 5 totems. you are making excuses to not do things that you should in the game like always. you are the problem with this along with others. like i said play killer with undying and have someone run ds only (no other perks) see who gets more utility out of their perk! I will say it's the DS because undying doesn't give you crapola when it is alone. how could that be a problem? oh you want to add ruin there? sure.. add unbreakable to the DS, this again gives the survivor more utility out of the perks. if you need to add tinkerer and BT.... now you have survivors barely overpowering the combo... that RELYS on people not doing their secondary objectives like weenies!
Again. You are wrong. With undying active (in its current state) and ruin, you have to potentially cleanse all 5 totems to get rid of it and ruin. That had to be fixed.
With DS leaving them on the ground is not 100% guaranteed to work, but it can. I'd say it has a better chance of working than finding all 5 totems against ruin and undying. Stop focusing on undying and just make another complaint thread about DS even though the best killers work with it.

The change is needed? well let us look at two perks only because that is the ones that are mostly talked about here. Undying and DS. take a killer with only Undying and a survivor with only DS. who gets the most out of their perk? undying gets changed three months in because of how it synergies with other hex perks, yet DS synergies with UB and BT in more damaging ways to the game. so on it's on undying is crap, it REQUIRES something else. but DS does NOT require anything so when you take something that is crap and add something good you get something great! but you take something Great and pair it up with another something good or great you have a stupendiously OP combination that can't be countered, yet undying can, take down totems and you stop undying from working. LOL talk about idiocy, this was because survivors don't want to do anything but do gens and get out. you know what I used to report AFK killers, now I won't because I see why they do it as they won't get a good or fair shake. Yea right it was needed. DS change has been needed for over a year maybe 2 now.... someone said almost 3? dunno about that but yea... lets keep only dealing with killer related items!
It WAS and IS much needed. Finding 5 totems to cleanse is nearly impossible with how they've hidden them now. DS has a counter. Don't pick them up until it runs out. Boom. Problem solved. They will address it eventually and until then you have a solution. Undying has no workaround. Thus, it was changed FIRST. Deal.

Making them harder to find means nothing when you have a semi meta perks completely built around rng and whether someone just happens to run into it or not.
If you don't like the RNG, don't run the hex perks. The fact that they can sometimes be found easily does not negate the fact that the existing Undying + Ruin makes the match pretty much un-winnable AND therefore unplayable. Get over it.

@Splinterverse The BT and DS change is much needed...maybe 1,5 years :D and change to needed haddonfield map with cornfields but now very important change gideon and crocus :D
I understand that you've wanted changes to those for a long time, but making survivor unplayable is not going to get you there. Go play survivor for 8 hours straight in various formations (solo, SWF, mix), etc. and then come back here with an opinion about undying. In it's current state, it makes it unplayable.
-
Here's my list:
- Legion -- he is obnoxious and it is annoying to be literally mending/healing/etc. all match.
- Ghostface -- no killer should have a one-shot ability combined with no terror radius. One or the other not both!
- Doctor -- his base kit prevents stealth and vault/pallet. It should be one or the other not both! He also has madness and skill checks. He doesn't need 500 powers.
- Bubba -- his new reach is ridiculous.
Hopefully all of the above get nerfed and soon!
(Also, killer mains, don't bother replying with "You must be rank 15" or get gud. I've heard it all before. Been to rank 1 many times. I can counter these guys, just don't think it is balanced OR fun.)
-
The undying change is much needed. They've made it much harder to find totems so having to cleanse something twice is more than enough. Four times is too much.
-
I don't like the new UI. I don't understand why the information has to be spread out all over the screen. It definitely will make it harder for streamers to position their other windows.
I like having the remaining gens and team info in one spot.
I hope they give us the option to run "Classic UI" if we prefer.
-
As a survivor main, I have no problem with the perk especially since it counters camping.
What I have a problem with is survivors who have not figured out that 90% of killers run it. So they sit there on a generator while a post-hook Billy flies across the map and insta-downs them. SMH.

yeah the ruin nerf was totally killer sided right?
Actually it was. Ruin is almost as good as it was. Not to mention the additional slowdown perks that have been added since then. You can't point to one pseudo-nerf to killers and say the game is not killer-sided. It's killer-sided and has been for the last year. Accept it.
-
FOR THE LAST FREAKING TIME . . . there is NO such thing as gen rush!
If you want to say "all generators are completed" or something like that fine, but survivors doing the ONLY objective they have to do to power the gates (or cause a hatch to spawn) is not rushing or any kind of "thing." It's the mechanics of the game.
Come at me with your "Well tunneling isn't a thing then." You don't have to camp or tunnel to kill 4 survivors. You just don't.
If you think gens are popping too fast or you can't get them done, blame it on the map or the killer you are playing. Survivors doing gens is literally the mechanics of the gameplay.
I'm sick and tired of incapable killer mains trying to justify endless nerfs and debuffs to survivors and the game itself due to mythical gen rush. Stop it already.
-
Face it. This game has become killer-side over the last year+. It's not going to change until enough of us quit playing for them to maybe take notice. Perhaps with crossplay, they'll never notice. Oh well.
-
SWF is just the excuse killers who suck use to justify their suckitude.
SWF is not all sunshine teamwork. People come and go from this game all the time, so getting consistent SWF teammates is not as easy as it sounds. Plus, SWF has it's own challenges . . . people who think they know it all telling everyone else how to play, people who don't talk or who are hard to hear, people who make risky plays to show off to their comms audience, etc.
Listening to the anti-SWF gang, you'd think every SWF was a well oiled machine. Well I'm here to tell you that SWF teams are the minority. Truly great and/or uber toxic ones are a minority within that minority.
Stop trying to nerf a part of the game (and truly a part of every game -- being able to play with your friends).
If you are failing as killer, you need to switch killers, get gud, play survivor, or go play something else. Enough already.

No no no, you didn't read, If I want a 4k I'm slugging you cause I'm not giving you the chance to suicide on hook for the 4th guy to get a free hatch...
What do you prefer? Being slugged to death for 1+ minute or struggle on hook for aproximately 45 seconds without the chance to suicide unless the killer is camping you?
Slugging for 4K is foolish. One of two things will happen: (1) the survivor will find the hatch while you stalk the corpse of their friend or (2) you will waste a lot of time because the survivor will stealthily pick up the downed one or not just to waste your time. Slugging for 4K is a selfish maneuver. It's for killers who can't stand not getting a 4K, but don't mind wasting time. You could do a whole match in the time it wastes.
Get over getting a 4K. Let 3K be good enough. Jeebus.
-
OP - no, no, no. You do not deserve 4K automatically. The hatch is in the game for a reason. If you don't want a survivor to get the hatch at the end, you have to find that survivor or lure them with slugging (which I don't advise).
Otherwise, what's the point of the hatch? If you got a 3K, that's good enough. You got a good amount of points and rank doesn't matter, so stop trying to get perfection by removing game mechanics.
-
I'm disappointed in this perk because it is a buff to noed. How many times have we cleansed noed at the last second because we happened to find it after it had triggered? With this new perk, that won't happen if any bones are left.
Yes, I know, we can all do bones, but in solo without a totem counter, that is a big ask. There have been so many complaints about noed (like daily new threads on here), that I'm surprised they would buff it without first adjusting noed itself.
But I guess I really shouldn't be surprised at what BHVR does any more.
