I don't think eliminating a valid counter-argument, just because you don't wanna hear it, does you any service :D Maps have existed, yes. Now Small Game exists and it's very useful to counter NOED. Use these tools available to you to deal with NOED if you're having issues with it.
I'm pretty sure Devs have stated that MMR wouldn't work only on kills/escapes, so NOED wouldn't carry you up in matchmaking. Same way it does not carry you up in ranks. It's little to no help in earning emblem score.
Getting matched against complete beginners as rank 1 is wrong and I frankly have no idea why it's a thing. But since you're a skilled player and the killer is a baby, you should have plenty of time to cleanse the totems, right? When an expert killer runs it, they're probably tired of losing to all the survivors' 2nd chance perks. That's what NOED is, a 2nd chance perk for the killer that activates when you're losing.
BT and DS work in a similar way. Even when not equipped, the killer is aware of their existence and is encouraged to respect them. NOED is like that. Be aware of it and prevent it with smart game-play. Just for the record, I don't think it's a brilliantly designed perk. I just don't think it's as big a deal as people make it out to be.
2 people who both wanna talk about Small Game and other perks. No feedback on my actual proposed change. Which is the smallest micro change in the world. I doubt they even read that far.
Noed gives the killer time FINDING, time cleansing, Insta-downs, and a speed buff.
My change affects NONE of that. Yet they comment like I asked to remove Noed. This guy literally goes on a tangent about kills wont be the only thing MMR tracks... Dude obviously.... Why did you even waste your breath thinking you were revealing some hidden information? Yes BT and DS give second chances. Where again did I say remove noed?

T-bagging is never off limits
I had a Trickster commit to chase with me on Hawkins. Obviously I ran him for 4 gens. He faced camped me. Didn't even try to stop the last gen. And he tunneled me off hook. Running past injured survivors, even downing body blocks and not picking up to continue after me. He even let the downed survivors get rescued. He literally lost all of us because of how he let his fragile ego get crushed. You bet your ass I T-bagged at the exit gate.
You can't get tilted that you committed to chase for 4 gens. I wasn't being toxic I was just genuinely trying to evade the killer. We all know the build is weak so just take the loss respectfully. The whole time I was evading him I was NOT thinking, "This player is bad. Instead I was thinking "Man this character is weak"
But after the player behaved so toxic he lost all sympathy. There's something sadistic and childish about players who want to ruin someone's experience because they misinterpret normal gameplay as a personal attack on them.

I support re-working NOED, but Small Game's Totem Counter buff really should eliminate NOED problems for anyone who worries about it.
Oh my... that's embarrassing... cringe. You did not read my post. I said I did not want to hear about Small Game because MAPS have always existed. You act like that buff brought us something that we didn't already have.
-
lolololol dummy killers thought I said they cant put survivors down.
-
Huntress is fine. Latency sucks.
I will say huntress players are so toxic. I thought camping bubba was the meta. So I was told when my friends got me into this game.
Camping huntress.... happens almost every game. It's like they get personally offended with YOU when they cant land a hatchet.
I see you Huntress mains

This doesn't make any sense at all. Ruin naturally counters devour hope and thrill by causing survivors to look for totems. The build you describe uses all 5 totem spawns, which means assuming all 4 survivors rotate to find a hex totem, they'll find one immediately. Even assuming the best case scenario where 2 people are cleansing both haunted grounds totems and you are left with ruin or devour hope or thrill, a killer simply cannot be at all places at once even when they are notified by thrill, its physically impossible. They'll immediately be down at least 3 perks, with possible haunted grounds value for that trade.
You missed it man. Completely off on your comment. THEY BRING FULL HEX LOADOUTS WITH A HEX THAT ALERTS WHEN AND WHERE YOU ARE CLEANSING.
So they slaughter you anytime you touch their hex. And if you do manage to cleanse, it triggers Haunted. But there's still ruin so you have to keep going. And if you try to do gens Devour activates. Then its back to cleansing. All during this time the Killer is getting notifications where you are cleansing.
I've been documenting my matches with these perks in another post. The killer KNOWS we HAVE to cleanse to get to ruin. SO they guard the TOTEMS with THRILL OF THE HUNT and a BACKUP of HAUNTED GROUNDS and DEVOUR. Do you not see how broken that is???? Are you that blind????
I WENT AGAINST THIS LOADOUT ON A HAG THAT ALSO TRAPPED THE TOTEMS! So she had traps AND THRILL.

"The one killer who has multiple abilities"
Just so long as you conveniently forget Doctor, Pig, Clown, Demogorgon, and pyramid head.
But that's the thing. They have main ability and secondary.
They balanced Freddy to that standard. He has strong gen defense teleport. And secondary antiloop that is now not as strong.
-
I also liked the borrowed time change so it can work against Freddy in dream. Just another natural ability Freddy had among his many other
-
I think the changes are fine. They all aim for balance.
Freddy had 2 powerful abilities - now one is a secondary ability like it should be
Huntress has inta-down - has to make shot count
Lucky Break wont change up the meta without Iron Will - requires 2 perks to be meta
Demo buff is good. Dont see many Demo players
-
Freddy's ability to teleport is his strong ability. You Freddy mains were spoiled with having 2 powerful abilities.
It's not a nerf. It's called balance
-
And you think Huntress should be faster without hatchets by default??? This guy is wack. She has a ranged attack that requires skill.
You don't get to have SAFTEY NET if you can't land a hatchet.
Someone give this guy an AI to kill survivors because he clearly wants the game to do it for him.
-
Who is this guy? What didgeridoo is he smoking?
Freddy's anti-looping isn't what makes him powerful. It is his objective and map pressure with teleporting.
Fredrick Kruger is the 1 killer who has MULTIPLE abilities.
He is partly invisible when awake.
He has a natural Borrowed Time defense when survivors are asleep.
He can fake pressure people off of gens.
He can travel the map in seconds.
He can waste time by making players travel to an alarm clock.
If you ever watch him move, he travels very fast with a deceptively slow walk animation
The knives on his model don't match his attack distance so he gets hits when players think they are safe.
His teleport wasn't changed which should be his main ability. He can't have 2 strong main abilities. Hence the nerf
-
Hexes should NEVER protect Hexes. The killer knows its location. It is up to the killer to guard his game changing perks.
I am still calling for Thrill of the Hunt to be nerfed. It should not notify the killer when AND where someone is cleansing a hex. It should just audio que that someone is cleansing somewhere. Hence the name Thrill of the HUNT. I have suggested this because of killer's bringing FULL HEX LOADOUTS that are unwinnable.
Ruin, Haunted, Devour, and Thrill which makes it impossible to cleanse bc
1) our location is revealed with Thrill
2) breaking is slowed with Thrill
3) Haunted exposes us in out journey to cleanse
4) before we get to Ruin... Devour kicks in.
5) Ruin
I never want to hear how a killer needs a Hex to protect their totem. YOU BASTARDS KNOW WHERE IT IS
-
Undying was a dark time and we shall never speak of it again.
-
This change is fine. Survivors need a spirit counter and indoor map boost. It wont be meta without Iron Will so that's 2 perk spots taken up that are only active when injured. I don't mind.
-
I think the change is fine. You just have to play like Bubba. Get really close and nail them.
-
Went against this build on a spirit again today. Another full red lobby. I'm rank 1. We all died.
We could have a fighting chance against this build if it wasn't for Thrill of the Hunt
-
Is this person for real? Im a survivor main and I can tell you trickster is weak AF and NEEDS a buff BAD.
Although I would like to see some survivor perks that DRAMATICALLY changes the game like noed, ruin, and devour does.
Imagine a survivor perk like noed that makes us invincible unless the killer cleanses all 5 of OUR totems lololololololol. Killer mains would FREAK lololololololol
-
Alright I have encountered this again 3 more times. Yet to have a win against it. All red lobbies. I'm still rank 1.
Played another Hag who had the totems trapped. Hag alone is unbalanced. This build is so far unwinnable. Will keep updating for those who still think it's fair.
I'll say it again. Thrill Of the Hunt should NOT reveal location. Hexes are game changing perks and should require the killer to guard NOT another Hex totem to do the job for them.
-
I think a good idea instead of immediate de-activation, the timer should speed up when performing actions. Let's say 2x. So if you immediately got on a gen after being unhooked. Sitting on that gen will deactivate DS in 30 seconds.
-
As a survivor main I can confirm that I've wrecked trickster several times with a single 5 gen chase.
It's also kinda sad that no one is playing him. He was just released and I'm already barely getting lobbies with him.
-
Let's get this back on track as a lot of people are conjuring made up information. I have over 1K hours. I am not new to the game. I don't post here often bc I only post when something is obviously unbalanced. Like Trickster in the PTB. He's weak AF. So that's when I started here.
Some of you want to spin the narrative that I am complaining about Thrill alone. But like the original post says, it's the hex combo using Thrill that's unbalanced. The easiest fix being the smallest, tiniest, micro change to Thrill... an audible alert for Thrill versus visual.
I could recommend something more drastic if you wish
-
First time it was a hag who trapped the totems as well. Then it was Deathslinger on suffocation pit. We HAVE to cleanse ruin on that map or else he can defend 1 side.
I just went against this build again (just now) except undying was replaced with Devour and it was a spirit. I'm rank 1 with 2 more rank 1s and a rank 4. This is how it went down.
The first 2 totems were haunted grounds. We got exposed twice. She got about 4 downs between both bc thrill alerted her when they were cleansing. Then devour kicked in. I went to go cleanse it (maybe??? It could still be Ruin or Thrill). She was alerted and hooked me. She got 2 downs with Devour. Someone else got devour while I was on hooked next to it. Then we got Thrill but lost 2 teammates and we still needed ruin. I popped ruin. Nancy and I took turns on the last gen and chase. We popped it but we both died before opening the exit gate.
I don't understand why its so hard for you to grasp that the killer be responsible for defending the hexes. They already know the locations. I really don't think what I am suggesting is that out there. The killer will still get a notification just not which totem. The less hexes you have. The more beneficial bc you can guess which totem they are on.
The only reason we even got that close is bc I play Spirit
-
I see a lack of constructive examples in your response which leads me to believe I am right on this. Regardless of whether you believe it's unwinnable or not. The function of the perk is non negotiable and needs to be changed.
-
I'm a survivor main 100% and I'll never try to stop camping. It should be allowed. I just wish their were more risks. Obviously the killer is camping bc they are satisfied with losing gens for the kill.
But sometimes the gens are done and 1 person is on hook. Obviously there is nothing left to guard except the hook.
I keep proposing a perk that boosts gen progress when the killer stays in proximity of the hook. Bc everyone wants to get out of a face camping match as soon as possible lol.
Camping is a tactic but there's little counterplay to insta down characters like bubba. Especially since he has insta downs 100% of the time.
