Anyone comparing trickster to old legion is out of their mind.
Old Legions power was running in a straight line after the survivor but faster into hitting them waiting for the cooldown and doing it again untill they were down
With tricker he still needs to hit you with knives and you avoid long enough all his progress goes away.
Old Legion you could get hit twice, stun him twice out of his power and still be only 2 hits away from being downed.
The only time trickster is really opressive in chase is on Low wall loops. And yet you still have players trying to loop him there.
Just keep in mind where his weak tiles are and run straight to them. Don't bother with low loops and just run in a serpentine motion to the strong spots using the speed boost when trickster injures you.
Trickster is only opressive to people who learned how to loop a standert m1 killer and refuse to learn anything else and expect it to work on all and every killer

Key and hatch are intertwinned.
Key's interact with hatches so changing hatches is effectivilly changing keys
That said yes, having the hatch only spawn when there is one survivor left or all gens are done is the easiest way to deal with the issues of keys
-
What other builds would you suggest then.
Personally i think Dark Devotion is a ton of fun on blight. Hysteria is pretty fun too
-
Watch the video in frame by frame and you'll see it's not that crazy
First survivor still took 11 hits
Second still took 12
third was 8 ish but most of the other laceration was purelly the shatter addon making up for aim.
it's really not that crazy. it's strong yes but lets not pretend this actually lowers blades to down to 8.
Realisticly you might cheat out an extra blade or two some of the time.
Which again, is good. But nowhere near crazy broken
-
That's because our feedback for the most part sucks.
95% of the playerbase is biased and/or doesn't know what they are talking about.
Looking at some of the feedback in these forums. Yeah i'd ignore it too

Either I am really bad informed and CoconutRTS is really trashtalking the game quite often (I have seen a few videos from him and they are alright, but I did not watch him very often) or you are thinking about a different Coconut.
Aah woops lol indeed my bad.
Wrong coconut

Cause it gives you two whole meters. It lasts longer but the value is lower at 10% compared to 15%. If you give clown more bottles he'll just spam purple. Yellow bottles are a failed experiment and all the update did was nerf his addons and make his reload faster.
That 10% extra movement speed translates to 75% faster chasing.
It's not a distance tool it's a chase tool.
Even if you look at purelly the distance dead hard that's a 1m dash is one of if not the strongest survivor perks. Almost solely because of the 1m dash. In a chase 2 meters is a big deal
-
150% laceration
100% from the knife and 50% from the shatter effect.
So instead of 6 knives it's 4. Not 3
Also only works when the survivor is practically in the open as you have to be able to throw through them.
It makes him stronger where he already is but does nothing in a high wall loop with tight corners.
It's one of his stronger combinations but i don't think it's as insane as he makes it out to be.
-
They are also against lower rank killers right now.
Hell they had to shift gears fast when they faced a Legion on Leries.
Suddenly there wasen't time anymore and multiple of the better players were on dead hook against a low rank supposedly weakest killer in the game Legion
-
His shoes should also squeak during his mori
-
If i play the killer i'm leveling sure i'll use every cake i get.
If i feel like one match with a killer i'm not leveling anymore i'm not going to spend 50k+ bp to get an offering that gets me 33,6k at most.
You'll just have to deal with one less cake at that point.
Same with survivor and they didn't even have a cake in every bloodweb

The killer picking the survivors up and letting them wiggle free means the bleedout progression is only 3 seconds each time that happens. You need 4 minutes to die. That means the killer would have to down the survivor 80 times. That's 25 minutes if the match only consisted of 16 seconds of wiggle +3 seconds on the ground for only one survivor, but the killer was doing it with both as well as other things happening earlier in the match. An hour sounds about right here and that is ridiculous and should not be defended. It would be a different story if the survivors refused to work on gens, or the killer was at least slugging, but they allegedly downed survivors and purposely let them wiggle out to limit progression of the bleedout timer.
All you people keep forgetting there is another survivor. The killer can't pick up you both at the same time. After 4 minutes the other survivor dies and the hatch will spawn and either the killer closes it and EGC ends the game or they don't and every 4th drop the survivor can run to it.
There is no way that what happened can last an hour.
Also last time i'm not defending it. I'm just calling it by the right name
-
No mither works pretty wel to become a target.
On a serious note bodyblocking. Force the killer to deal with you by blocking them before they can down your less experienced teammates.
Hell if you haven't been hooked yet you can even bodyblock while injured.
Once you are closer to dead hook you are a much more enticing target
-
It will never benifit survivors unless you mess up. You decide when and where it goes. And usually it's where you are going. If survivors are in the yellow gas and you aren't there to hit them then it's your fault
The activation time is a bit awkward but it doesn't take too long to learn how far to throw it so it activates just as your in it.
5 seconds of 75% faster chasing is far from abysmal. Especially if you use the purple gas too and make it 175% faster chasing
-
Friday the 13th is getting (another) reboot right?
If they are able to get Jason they'll probably save it for aniversery next year or something
-
So far i've found i needed to change my view of trickster.
With the prechanges spamming was the way to go. you needed 14-16 knives in someone so then i generally just filled the air with knives vagually towards who i was trying to hit. aiming on the fly
With the new changes I've found it to be better to be more slow and precise, aiming before i throw. only holding the button down when they go in animation lock.
missing blades is a lot more punishing now and i'm trying to pay attention to not waste as many unnececary.
Not sure yet if it's for the better or not but that attitude change did help somewhat

4 is an unlucky or "death" number in korea.
It's probably that

Flavour wise it's cool
Gameplay wise it's dumb and only serves to make Trickster less lethal
Eh it's not that big of a deal tbh.
If you hit 30 of those 44 knives you have 5 healthstates on top of now much better main event which at the very least is another healthstate.
You need to be more accurate yes but that isn't a bad thing

Well it still bothers me to see such an uneven number for a Killer.
44 is even though :3
As a person that opens bags of chips upside down. I am very pleased with this number
-
4 is concidert a unlucky number in korea. Kinda like western countries concider 13 to be unlucky
The Chinese character for the word “death” is pronounced “sah”. This is the same sound as the Korean “four.”
So it's seen as a death number.
So specifically 44 knives is actually pretty dope flavour wise

Iron will should only work while walking of standing still.

Even if i only had 30 knives i would still prefer 6 hits over 8
-
I'm going to wait with my judgement on trickster adter i played against/with him
That said
If you with 44 knives have to reload after every chase which takes 12 blades then you are missing 75% of your shots.
Huntress would almost have to reload after every hit if she missed that much
At that point it's a player issue not a killer one

agreed before endgame collapse couldn't people hold games hostage by doing that?
You still can if you are able to bodyblock all the survivors
-
Edit: double post
-
They really need to make it so that when a player hitbox pushes against another player hitbox for 10 seconds they lose collision.
Still enough time so you can puke/chainsaw a survivor in a corner or wait out bt but no more possibilty of getting stuck forever
-
They should change it so your chainsaw charges faster or/and you run faster the closer you are to overheating.
Just to make you be able to interact with the overheat instead of it being a hinderance.
I can see that it could be fun always trying to be on the verge of overheating to get bonusses

There was competition. DbD was just better.
People don't seem to want to admit this but on the grand scale the devs have done an amazing job with dbd.
Licising helped ofcourse but this is not the only reason. Friday the 13th and that resident evil asymetrical game had some of the biggest names in horror and couldn't come close to dbd.
It's time to admit it. DbD is a pretty good game
-
The problem is that the feedback of this perk is pretty difficult.
Like if you lose a killer did you lose them because of lightweight or would you have lost them anyway

Suffering leads to frustration
Frustration leads to toxic gameplay

- The game has a built in anti-hack program. People Will get banned for it.
Hope that helps.
What?
You can very easilly turn up the gamma and brightness of pc and resolution changes allow you to see way more then with the standert resolution. To the point where you can look over walls.
There has also never been a percect anti-hack program. And with false reports making the people who do the bans waste their time they do slip under the radar a lot of the time.
Why do you think they are working on an automated system to help against hackers? Cause the system is working so well now?
So no, that's the opposite of helping that you are doing. Most of the things you said are straight up wrong

32 meters, you can master how to use whispers you would understand why it is better.
If whispers is off, and you move to certain point you know EXACTLY where the survivor is.
Lethal persuer is for people that really don't know where to go, note I'm not saying that it is a bad thing and sometimes spawns are messed up but lethal persuer is nowhere near as good as whispers.
And not always whispers is on, if it's on then you will most likely see crows flying/landing or scratch marks.
If you think it's overrated, then your opinion, nothing wrong with it but if you think whispers is bad then my friend, the problem is on you for not knowing how to use whispers.
Edit: most of the time when you play as legion, when you see someone then that is great, you will see survivors either way after hitting a frenzy, there is not that much of a point to use lethal persuer on legion because he lacks lethality.
I've used whispers a ton. I know how to use it. I find it overrated i never said it's bad.
That's the thing you don't know exactly where the survivor is cause there are multiple survivors. It could as easilly been a survivor to your side that entered the 32m radius. And if a survivor enter the other side of the 32 m radius then you can dance an triangulate all you want whispers stays on and you have no real information.
I feel people who talk about whispers only picture best case scenario's and don't mention the times the perk doesn't do the one thing it's suppose to do. Giving information
Also you are viewing Lethal Pursuer wrong. It's not just about finding a survivor. It's to ensure the best opening every time. As Legion going to where a single survivor spawned vs where 3 of them spawned is the difference between all survivors injured under a minute and 3 gens down after your first chase.
If you just use it to find the closest survivor and ignore all the other information it gives you then i can flip it around and say you're not using Lethal Pursuer well

You are missing the point. The post shows that it IS possible for the Killer to be reported for hostage-holding by refusing to allow the enemy to complete their objective while simultaneously refusing to do your own objective. That very much fits the situation as OP described it (assuming, of course, that OP is being accurate/honest in their description).
Stealing is not murder, but the situation OP described is hostage holding.
It's not hostage holding
There are 2 survivors.
When the killer is constantly picking the op up and dropping him again the other survivor can either do gens or is bleeding out.
In the 3 gen the op stated it would take like 2 minutes for the gates to be opened at which point EGC starts
If the other is getting slugged then the hatch spawns after 4 minutes and op can either escape with hatch cause after the 4th drop he returns to injured state or the killer closes the hatch and EGC starts
With survivors sneaking around you can atleast make the argument that the killer is just unable to find them making the game unable to be ended
With old doc the survivors could litterally not do gens making the game unable to end.
The situation op described always reaches an end and it will be 10-15 minutes tops
If somebody reads this threat and comes across a killer that is trying to get adept and gets the idea of searching for the last survivor with another on his shoulder to give them as much time to find the last survivor. Should that killer then also be reported and punished for holding the game hostage.
Cause it won't take a lot of effort for a frustrated player to see this as the same situation
-
At this moment there are 57000 players on steam
That's 11400 games that could be played at this moment.
Even if 75% are in lobby right now that's 2850 games being played
At this one instance in time. Almost 10 times as much as your sample.
With only the pc players.
This means nothing.
That said yes the overal key use is not that common. Does not make them okay though

You are both not getting my point. Yeah, Doc has (or had) a unique way to stop games from ending but to me that quote shows are different point: That it is punishable if the killer refuses to finish the game.
OP and his teammate both went afk after they noticed that they would not be able to finish the gens (yes in theory you can finish the gens with two people but if the killer is just chasing you away and doesn't commit to a chase it is going to take an eternity, especially in solo queue where you can't coordinate you actions well. OP might also be new, what would make it even harder to deal with the situation) so the killer could have easily ended the match but he decided not to.
Instead of just hooking them (again if they are both afk there is no excuse like "I was worried about hatch") he downed them and then picked them up and dropped them which prolonged the game. You, Sonzaishinai, said that this should take about 10 minutes, I've seen other numbers in different discussions (30-40 min) so I don't know which guess is correct, but even ten minutes seems pretty unreasonable to me (if I remember correctly a Dev or Mod said that Survs hiding/doing nothing for 10 minutes would be enough to be reportable).
You could argue if it is against the rules for the survs to just give up, but I have never seen a Mod say anything in this direction (and since the Devs didn't get rid of killing yourself on hook when they changed the struggle mechanic I don't think the mind giving up, as long as you do not dc). I would argue that the situation could be comparable to farming and the Devs/Mods have said about that, that it is only okay if no one is forced to participate in the farming, so that would be another reason for me to assume that the behviour of the killer was not okay.
I know your point is more that it is grieving, not holding the game hostage, that might be right but it also seems unecessary nitpicky to me, considering that holding the game hostage is listed as griefing in the game rules (and griefing is the only category in which this situation would fit imo, if you follow the descriptions) I don't think the Mods would have to much trouble dealing with the report because the category is already correct, just the sub category does not fit perfectly (even though the other mentioned offenses in the griefing category wouldn't fit the Situation either so..).
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/W4KO6AB4FKJH/screenshot-20210724-204448.png
You are not getting my point
I am not defending this killer in any way or form.
Just want to let it know that this is grieving and not holding the game hostage.
So that people who get slugged a bit won't start sending fake holding the game hostage reports.
Stealing is a crime. But if you call it murder and the police has to handle every shoplifter as a murderer then the real murderers are just out there longer or won't get caught at all.
There is a reason they have to put time effort and resources into making an automated report system
-
@TAG said:

Sorry, but I don't agree with your assessment. And neither do the mods, going by the quote from a mod that was posted here:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2379823#Comment_2379823
That quote was made before the rework of the doctor a few years ago.
It does not hold merrit now.
Case is very clear to me. Killer was a jerk and could and should have been reported for grieving.
He was not holding the game hostage and people need to learn what that means to prevent false reports. So the people/automated system soon can actually do their job.
It's because of these kind of things hackers and other problematic players aren't getting dealt with

I mean you can tell “oh hey I’m 40 meters away from the hooked survivor that means someone is still nearby waiting to go for the save or in the process of saving.” Whispers has a lot of passive info you can gain, I can tell how far away I am and triangulate survivors positions extremely easily and there’s little counterplay to it. Though it definitely takes a lot more skill to interpret than LP.
If your 40m away from a hook and it's still lit then there could be a survivor in progress of saving somewhere 40m behind you or they could be 40m ahead to the gen you know they are working on. Or they could be in a bush 5m next to you. That's not concrete information. All of those options are possible and there is no way to know which one is true.
It's probably cause I'm used to playing Legion who gets a lot of information with their power. Like other killers could benifit from it not being lit when on their way to check a gen to not waste time going there.
With Legion if you use FF correctly you have a pretty good idea what gens are and aren't worked on.
The triangular thing is more fancy then usefull to me. Especially when all 4 survivors are still alive

I prefer whispers, for once it's one of the best tracking perks out there if you know how to use it.
Whispers help you as any killer, lethal what is the point if you cannot get instant pressure or let you know if someone is looking at you while you set traps (trapper).
What is the point of using lethal persuer on killers like current legion, current trickster, current clown or current trapper, they do not benefit from it, meanwhile the same killers do benefit from whispers to tell if someone is there or not.
One lasts what? 9 seconds? The other one the whole match "bUt whIsPeRs OnLy woRkS eArlY gAmE anD enD gAme" then I can tell you do not know how to use whispers if you think like that.
Are you seriously saying knowing where the biggest cluster of survivors are doesn't benifit Legion?
And pls tell me how i am using whispers wrong if it's lit throughout the match.
I begin to think whispers is a perk that players with bad tracking skills use to offset it.
Imo whispers is so overrated, if you often find whispers deactivating then you need to play more survivor to have an idea where survivors like to be.
-
Information perks all the way.
Most chase perks are kinda meh and slowdown perks can only do so much if you are never in the right place
-
@TragicSolitude said:
Is it people saying this is holding the game "hostage" that is creating this argument here? Is that the problem?
Could everyone at least agree this probably counts as griefing, which is a reportable offense? Holding the game hostage is a type of griefing, but it's not the only type. What the killer did in this situation serves no purpose other than to drag the game out and make the players miserable. The killer was hindering the survivors from completing their goal, the killer was not attempting to complete his own goal, and the combination of these two things means the killer was causing the game to go on for an excessive amount of time.
I'm amazed no one has tagged @MandyTalk to come in here and say whether or not this incident is reportable/bannable. And if the killer did break the rules, what can a person do to report it if the killer's name was not shown at the end of the match? Because that's an important part of the story: the match details didn't show the killer's name. What is a person supposed to do in that situation?
Yes, it is clearly griefing and can be reported for grieving.
The problem is people twisting the meaning of holding the game hostage which no doubt leads to 1000ths of false reports which leads to the actual legit report to take ages or get burried.
Why do you think the devs are putting resources into an automated system

I'm amazed how confindently people people defend this position when the Devs have said this about 3-gen Doc:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JKKQV57O8ZKQ/screenshot-20210406-005902.png
If it is not how okay for a Doc to stall the game for a long time I don't see how someone stalling for an hour would be okay.
And about the gen finishing thing: It is hard to judge if the survivors could have played better in this scenario without a video but that shouldn't matter, if the Survs are bad you can kill them easily and in the oppositional situation, where two Survs are hiding you also wouldn't blame the Killer for not finding them even if a more experienced killer or a killer with better perks might have been able to.
Also ChantyBoi, the Mods have said multiple times that it counts as holding the game hostage if the killer blocks one or more Survs in the corner, even if other Survs are still able to finish the gens.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2153185#Comment_2153185
Doctor used to be different because he could keep survivors in madness tier 3 pretty much all the time.
This post was before the rework and doesn't hold merrit now. With how doc doesn't passivilly increase madness anymore and survivors go back to tier 1 after snapping out you can't hold the game hostage like this anymore

It is nice that zombies could keep other survivors busy while you are doing that.

Hmm.... I’d like at least a little something that could help regress gens
Ow it certainly needs more before it would be a good perk.
What i suggested was just to not actively work against you.
The problem with this perk is that is differs so vastly in effectiveness vs new players or experienced ones that if you make it good vs experienced ones it become overbearing for newer ones.
If i wanted to make it decent i would add the old ruin effect on top of the lack of greats but without regression. So everytime a survivor hits a skillcheck the gen zaps and doesn't progress for 3 seconds.
But i think we both know what can of worms that would open
-
It should remove great skill checks completly.
Won't make it stronger vs new players as it is but also won't activilly help experienced ones
