Reading @SoGo reaction should gave you the hint. In my opinion, that is the level of power that an invocation perk should be at. a game-altering effect. they can justify said effect by saying, 120 second channel time. survivors are doing secondary objectives MR. killer main.
This does seem pretty unhealthy though, just take Iron Will and Distortion, then spend the whole game hiding while the gens do
themselves. Eventually all gens will be done in a maximum of 32 minutes with no way for the killer to stop it. I don't think that playstyle needs to be encouraged. Even if it was balanced, it'd be as fun as watching paint dry.I am going say same thing as I said to Sogo. The average game is not going to last 32 minutes. I am not saying this is not possible as I joke about otz and content creator making a video on the perk but the average that I was going was about 3 activation per match with 120 second window. the killer gets a decent chunk of time to kill the survivors before the perk starts to hurt the killer.
Hi again!
So, while this version of the Invocation would be more powerful than the one we have now, and yes, the extreme scenario I mentioned would be rare, it would be annoying and boring as hell.
I can already see people complaining about Blendettes running this perk and doing absolutely nothing except the ritual and hiding around the whole game.
While it is an interesting concept, this wonderful community would start to despise this perk if it went live in this form. Skull Merchant kind of despise.
We already have people who are willing to harass people running this perk and make them miserable. This version would dial it up to 11.
Still, I don't hate the idea, it's creative, but there are too many ways it can go wrong.

why? are you afraid of the invocation meta?
Not really, i want this perk to be great and used, its just that the option you created would result in this:
• Match starts
• One survivors goes into the basement and does the invocation
• The invocation is finished
• All survivors hide around until all gens auto-complete.
Do you want this?
-
I think this is an interesting rework idea of this perk. Love the addition of the unused rarity.

The place where fear festers and terror treads is also where those with the gift can reach across the veil.
When in the Basement near the circle, press the Active Ability button to begin the Invocation, which takes 120 seconds to complete.
During an Invocation, your auras is revealed to all other Survivors and they can join in, accelerating the process by +100 %, if they too have an Invocation Perk equipped, or by +50 %, if they have not.Once the Invocation is completed, the following effects apply:
Permanently reduce charges required of all generators in the trial by 8/9/10 charges every 120 seconds.
You automatically enter the injured from any previous Health State, and suffer from the broken Status Effect for the remainder of the Trial.
Completing an Invocation disables all Invocation Perks for the remainder of the Trial for all Survivors.

you complete the ritual and every gen gets progress every 120 seconds. i am sure some content creators will attempt to do ritual and hide for 25 minutes for the perk to auto win the game. the perfect stealth Claudette perk.
Oh god please no. This would drag the game out so much. Don't give them ideas.

I miss old Freddy so much and this idea seems pretty interesting. I like the idea of combining both his old and current forms together so that everyone is happy!
I posted an idea here a while ago that tried to combine his old and new powers together as well but not as much as you have.
This was my old idea:
Replaces Dream Projection with Dream Cloak
Press the Secondary Power button to activate Dream Cloak for 15 seconds.
While cloaked Freddy gains the following benefits:
1 - Freddy is completely invisible to all survivors when further than 16 metres
2 - Sleeping survivors do not hear the lullaby
3 - The aura of all sleeping survivors are revealed to Freddy
4 - While looking at a generator, press and hold the secondary ability button to perform Dream Projection (functions like it does now)
5 - Upon completing Dream Projection, all awake survivors within 16 metres of the generator are pulled into the Dream World
After 15 seconds or after performing a basic attack or Dream Projection, Dream Cloak ends (the length can be modified with add ons)
Dream Cloak’s cool-down is the same as Dream Projection is currently and functions the same way with it being reduced the more survivors are asleep.
Honestly I don't care how they go about it, I just want some form of the old Freddy back!
That is a creative idea. I would gladly throw snares out for exchange for this.

The idea of returning Freddy to how he used to be in addition to keeping his trap-based kit is quite interesting!
It gives him back his identity as a Dream Demon, pulling Survivors into sleep so he may reliably interact with them, most notably, killing.
How long would it require for a Survivor to be put to sleep?
Probably 7 seconds again, but it would be nice if he had few addons to shorten that

No, that isn't my idea for the change lol you're just reading what you want to see lol
My change to Freddy is he is exactly as he is now. But you add everything I mentioned in my previous comment.
Dream Pull would be used as an alternate power to Dream Snare. Imagine how Clown Bottles work where you manually switch to them to use the one you want to.
I would also make his Snares add 1% more Hindered per Snare triggered
So faster Projection, Red Paint Brush basekit and switching between snares and pulling in?
The first two, no problem. But the switching between powers... I dunno. Clown's switching is annoying to do so if it gets put in like that… It would be clunky.
-
@_Onyx_ said:
OG Freddy was the worst thing to happen to DBD lol
Why do you want to bring that back? The only thing good about OG Freddy was the Dream Pull ability. Slap that into current Freddy's kit with a few additions to his power; make his Projection usable on every generator regardless of whether it's completed, blocked or still in need of repairs. Make Red Paint Brush base kit. Make Projection take less time to recharge. And then that's a Freddy that is actually worth playing as.
So you want to nerf him even more?
So the change you want:
• Better teleport
• Slightly harder exiting out of the Dream
• Has to pull you in before he attacks.
With most of his traps being very meh, you would just make him worse imo.

I doubt it’ll be oppressive with how survivors might just avoid the penalty by failing skill checks
Good point. 40% might be better, but also it can make Forever Freddy come back and no one wants that, I think. 30% could be a good middle ground.
-
@D0NN1ED4RK0 said:
I’d make the action speed penalty 40%
I halved the original action speed penalty to conpensate for the new additions that happened since then.
To not make it too oppressive.

Stronger for sure, and maybe more interesting to play, however I don't think he is gonna be more fun to play against or have a better skill expression.
Also I think you did not explicitly mention that you cannot get hit by Freddy when not in dream world... Which I assume is the case?
Yes, that is true.
I tried returning back his original power where he couldn't interacti with awake survivors aside from making them go to sleep.
Also, he would be able to interact with objects normally

Title. PTB Twins were fun to play, now they are not, simple as. Also, reduce stun duration of Decisive Strike to 2 seconds like it was before
No.
-
Please, BHVR. Put this in. It could make Custom games a great training mode.
With all killers, that is.
-
I don't think they should nerf the meta.
But please. Stop. Nerfing. Alternatives.
Ahem... SBTFL.… ahem.... Sloppy Butcher....
-
My original comment got erased for some reason.
:(
Anyway, the Invocation sucks, but that doesn't give people a right to grief you.
Buff the Invocation please.
-
Funny how some of these people are like:
„You should expect your teammates trying to get you killed just for DARING to try to get value out of this awful perk.“
„It's your fault. You used that perk“
Like, yes. The perk is very meh. But that doesn't give anyone the moral right to destroy the Invocation users game just for.. using the perk the way it is intended.
Solution: Just buff this perk so it's usable and people won't see it as a killer perk anymore.
Idea:
• It regresses at a rate of 1 c/s or less instead of it regressing to 0 in few seconds.
• It gives 15 unregressable charges instead of 10.
• (Optional) The Invocation takes 90 seconds instead of 120.

I don't think he has "problematic" addons now. Without hugtech he relies on speed almost as much as old Billy on Engravings. Double Iri is kinda brain off option, i agree, but both addons are fair on themselves and it's killer with two best addons, it's should feel stronger. Double Iri Plague, double Iri Billy arguably even stronger, but no one crying about them, because, well, we are overfixated on Blight's hate.
Honestly, I think that the bast way to balance him is to leave his base kit as it was before this patch and focus on the addons exclusively.
-
Adrenaline. You rarely get to the endgame anyway.

Will survivors still be able to hold Victor hostage?
One of the absolute worst parts about current Twins is that if Victor latches onto a survivor, and that survivor refuses to crush Victor, then Charlotte needs to wait 30 seconds before being able to recall Victor.
Wasn't one of the changes the option to recall him back at any time?
Or does it only apply when he is not latched?
-
So, the S tier Victor got changed back to normal. I'm fine with that. Although the 10% Haste for Charlotte didn't have to be changed, but whatever.
Blight's collision is something I don't understand so I can't judge it. The addons could've stayed as they were before.
Haddonfield still sucks. For survivors.
Ds animation got removed and, yeah. I agree. Come back when it's better.
Adrenaline nerfs still stayed the same. Didn't use it anyway.
Ultimate Weapon got nerfed even more. Glad I didn't buy it from the shrine.

Mobility and Ranged killers are not the only killers.
Please stop taking our hiding spots, ground clutter and LoS blockers away. Sincerely, Trapper, Hag, Ghostface, Myers, Pig, Sadako, Wraith, Demogorgon, Chucky...
I agree.
If any map should get it's clutter removed, it's Eyrie of Crows. Those thin bushes do nothing but block attacks while giving no LoS break. Truly useless.
-
Even though the Invocation is a weaker version of No Mither, no one should shame you for using it.
I wish you teammates that respect your perk choice and hope that those annoying ones will get punished.

The map is fine.

This is Not Happenning, Premonition, Invocation: WS, both Teamwork perks and many more

I stopped posting on this forum when I realized you express every opinion I have about the game in a way that doesn't run me the risk of getting banned for some smartass remark.
I've been letting you do all the talking for me for months now XD
@Iron_Cutlass to answer your question, I feel like the forums are dead. For many months I thought I was shadow banned—so many of my comments get 0 replies and 0 upvotes. I'm pretty stubborn, and I'm prone to overdramatization for literary effect, so I've also considered tons of users have blocked me.
I'm definitely not a bait poster, but I'm not afraid to defend some hot takes, so it's surprising how little engagement I've been seeing.
Shoutout to @solarjin1 for trying to revive my discussion on Unforeseen <3
Like, same. I post an idea to change a certain thing in the game and it gets 1-5 replies and that's it.
But if someone posts some weird controversial take everyone flocks to it.
-
Freddy needs a rework really much.
Myers needs a nice rework as well.
Trapper needs buffs.
Sadako needs buffs.
Pyramid head needs a rework of his addons and the Torment mechanic.

Mangled never should have been changed to affect healing progress in the first place, all it does is kill off any non meta healing perks. When was the last time you saw someone run reactive healing, resurgence, or solidarity?
That is a fault of Hemorrage, not Mangled.
All Mangled does is give you a bit longer heal.
Hemorrage makes it so you lose healing progress.
I would be rather if Hemorrage was timed and Mangled wasn't

oh wow really? Makes sense. As survivor I feel safer because I have teammates. Killer I am all alone. Nobody to talk to. It’s all up to me 😅
For me, it's less about being alone and more about the million ways I can screw up and bring down the 3 people with me.
But yeah, I understand that playing alone as the killer can be stressful.
-
For me it's the opposite.
I get so anxious when playing survivor.
-
I really think that it would be better to just nerf his add-ons to Nurse level instead of nerfing and changing his base kit.
STOP BUFFING HIS ADD-ONS. PLEASE BHVR.
-
It would be great.
For example:
• More grass when playing as Trapper/Hag
• Less clutter when playing as Huntress/Billy/Singularity
• More clutter/LOS blockers when playing as Myers/Ghostface/Wraith/Nurse
-
Landing a cross map shot with Artist is great.
-
I hope they will get changed, I just hope that the Distressing change will not just be removing the bloodpoint bonus.
-
I had a match on the Temple of Purgation, where the hatch spawned in the basement.
Unrelated, but still...
-
I don't think there should be 5 variants.
-
The gimmick of zombies is that they are useless in one game and help you out in another.
-
I think that the last CoH nerf was too much.
But I understand why it happened.
The only change I would add into it is making it more silent. It's too loud.
-
Nah, I'd rather take 2 solo q dummies than 2 bots.
As both killer and survivor.
-
I would make it an Invocation.
-
This is a very creative idea.
I would love these perks as general, so we don't have another "DS pay to win" situation.
But yeah, it punishes tunneling really well, especially the "tunneling at 5/4 gens"
Very good job!
-
I think that boons are underrated, for the most part.
CoH and Exponential are still really good.
Shadow Step can also be very useful.
Illumination is meh.
And Dark Theory should be an Invocation.
But they would be great with some buffs (extending the range with more boons in your loadout, not being so loud...)
-
I agree. I love Hex perks and play them quite often.
The better totem spawns would help a lot.
-
This is a very reasonable buff.
-
Buff: Trapper, he's too weak.
Nerf: Nurse, give her back Lighburn.
Rework: Myers and/or Freddy. They are so outdated it hurts.

That would be broken. You would basically be a stealth killer all game.
The layers would be still there, you would just hear the first one wherever you would be.
Also, if this was actually the change (which it won't be, probably) impossible skill check Doctors would be ascending. It would make all terror radius perks strong..
It would be broken af, yeah.
-
The reason is that people forgot how to counter him.
And that the people playing him are probably very dedicated Freddy mains.
-
A change to Distressing:
Your terror radius is heard map wide.
Gives 100% bonus bloodpoins
