Blatantly unfair on killers, especially on one like Freddy. You can't compare survivor perks to these perks because they are extremely situational and have ample counterplay whereas killer perks are multiple uses or always getting benefit with many have no counterplay. Tinkerer, rewards the killer for survivors actually playing the game. No survivor perks can compare to what killers have and are so strong they can guarantee killers a victory every game.

You're forgetting we're gonna live forever and Object of Obsession and If the survivor is Oblivious it's a permanent wallhack to the Surv + with Voicechat you can relay that info to the others as well.
But you get no benefit other than points and it is not even tied to the objective like BBQ is. Altruism is like a side objective. Why is we're gonna live forever not tied to generators and give an aura of where the killer is, for 5 seconds?

How is BBQ OP? It has 4 counters without perks right now. Hiding in a locker, faking your direction, getting in the terror radius, and hiding behind a gen.
All of those counters means stopping the objective. Imagine if the killer has ruin and not only stopping the objective but losing it.

Its just as hypothetical as your 4 man slug with 5 gens is for kill times.
"Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones"
I would bet the 4 man slug is a lot more common.

Meh 3-4 of them will have unbreakable so theyed need to do that twice which would be 8 hooks worth of downs while also being easily disruptable.
Mass slugging only really works in select set ups as talking from experience as both a survivor and a killer player(Mainly from the survivor side since I don't like to mass slug) that if you don't get the 4th person its extremely likely you'd lose the hooks on 2 out of the 3 survivors if the last one plays properly...or an unbreakable happens.
That is hypothetical. You could still say if the killer plays properly they won't allow 5 gens to get done in only a few minutes.
-
In some other match, a killer slugs all survivors with 5 gens up. How are kill times ok?

Did you just say whisperes - a tracking perk that's only useful endgame and early game - is better than 60 seconds of invincibility, up to 2 mins across all survivors? AND slug prevention?
Bruh. How.
Well, you could say whispers has value during the entire match. DS is a single use. UB is only single use. BBQ is multiple uses. Infectious Freight is unlimited uses. PGTW is unlimited. Distortion is so limited nobody uses it. Survivors have to work so much for Repressed Alliance nobody hardly uses it. Killers have it so easy and their perks just keep coming with strong effects with little effort to trigger them.

Wanting to nerf BBQ, Whispers and Infectious screams "I'm afraid of the killer"
Wanting any survivor perk nerfed screams "I am a very bad killer"
No survivor perk comes close to BBQ usage. Double bloodpoints + wallhack
Whispers totally guarantees a kill in the endgame. DS or UB doesn't come close to this level of power.
-
For all high rank survivors, heavy nerf BBQ, PGTW, NOED, Ruin, Whispers, all aura perks/addons. I hate when killers slow the game down and there is no counterplay in the endgame when they have whispers and NOED. Infectious Freight should be auto-disabled in the code on all super fast killers. Slugging sucks every game. If the third one is left to bleed while killer sweats for the fourth, the entity should pick him up.
-
DS doesn't hold a candle to killer perks.
-
A killer tunneling or slugging is way more effective than survivors genrushing. Now, if the killer is not good at mindgaming and he is ran for a long enough chase then the gens can be rushed. But if a couple are a slugged, then it is downhill fast as the others switch into altruism mode. Most sluggers spot the 3rd one, because it is so easy to see survivors on maps, and with an abundance of perks such as Infectious Freight, all four will soon be down. If they do not all go down, the team is demoralized enough that usually it is not long until it is over. I see a repetition and most experienced killers exploit it without end.
Tunneling is a stronger strategy than genrushing because it guarantees a couple are dead, but most of time more are dead.
So...whether it is fair or not is not even the question. It is up to the devs to balance their game so everyone has a fair shot at winning no matter what the other side does. And I believe this is in the form of re-buffing survivors. Re-buffing survivor perks, reworking maps so there is no dead zones, adding back some missing pallets, and making maps more difficult to see so it feels more horror-themed instead of battle royal.

You are misunderstanding what I said. I said that many hours to have a good understanding of the game balance, not to have a fair shot a winning. Those are not synonymous.
You clearly didn't look up my profile because it doesn't actually show that. If you still think it does then elaborate what specifically on my profile says killer main.
You didn't answer my question. What grade are you in?

"You got beat by a well coordinated SWF that specifically genrushed and ignored all other aspects of the game and you claim the game is survivor sided and is the power role."
What are you talking about? I haven't even mentioned anything about SWF nor has that anything to do with my opinion at all.
You jumped to a conclusion based a presumption about me that isn't actually true.
"I don't see that being a balance metric, as you are leaving out the majority of the survivor playerbase."
I never said or implied it was a metric at all. You completely made this assumption on your own.
"As a matter of fact, I hardly play killer anymore because there is no challenge! I know I am going to stump every single match unless it is a well coordinated SWF and even then I pull out some tricks and beat them (ie. tunneling, camping, slugging)."
No one who actually plays killer at any significant level or amount believes this. Mind linking your stats on your profile to back this up?
If you are part of a killer-centric circle-fest how will you know anything else? Several of my long-time friends won't touch the game because they feel the killer is too powerful. A decent killer that knows the ins-and outs is way too oppressive. They got sick of the never-ending survivor nerfs. They had several hundred hours before quitting, one had thousands. They won't touch the game and now hate the game.
I'm not about to link my profile but I am on the first page of the DBD leaderboards if you so desire.

I'm not watching them, I've actually been playing them for years, and that isn't the case at all.
This is a player skill issue, not a balance issue. Survivor is currently the power role and it isn't even close. I play both sides at rank 1.
Me too. You got beat by a well coordinated SWF that specifically genrushed and ignored all other aspects of the game and you claim the game is survivor sided and is the power role. I don't see that being a balance metric, as you are leaving out the majority of the survivor playerbase.
As a matter of fact, I hardly play killer anymore because there is no challenge! I know I am going to stump every single match unless it is a well coordinated SWF and even then I pull out some tricks and beat them (ie. tunneling, camping, slugging).
Solo is the only challenge and I'm noticing a very unhealthy trend.

Maybe at low ranks but not at rank 1.
Wrong. I've been watching rank 1 since 2016 and I see the bloodbaths. These survivors are not new, several hundred hours I am playing with dying and they are not necessarily making bad plays. They shouldn't be dying so easy every match. The killers are too fast, too many aura perks, too many slowdown perks, not enough defenses on maps anymore, and killers have way too much of an upper hand in a solo game. Don't pretend it is not a problem!

This is just factually not true at all.
I play strictly solo queue and we 3-4e at least 75% of the matches.
I don't believe that at all. That is not my experience. It is a bloodbath massacre 75% of the time. Then, due to EGC, the last survivor is guaranteed to die trying to open the gates.

How was it questionable? Before his cooldown, he was slowed so much, that he basically didn't have a power.
So you think his gas is not a power? Survivors go way out of their way to avoid it.

Exactly. He can already end chases ridiculously fast (when you know what you’re doing). Increasing his mobility for the sake of map presence will just make his 1v1 even MORE oppressive.
Yes, very much! I think he's in a good spot after they completely removed his cooldown. Even that was questionable.

Just give the man a little bit more mobility so he could put pressure on generators better and he will be a happy little God
A killer very good at 1v1 and shutting down loops should not have mobility.
-
I heard the killers were tunneling every match and still getting at least 1-2 kills each. That's under the most extreme genrush with coordination and survivors knowing every loop. Now, take away all of that, and it be four survivors trying to enjoy a casual match playing the game "properly" as it was originally intended. The devs need to change the description of their game if they continue balancing for this kind of gameplay.
-
I can't wait to see them give him teleportation. A clown that can turn around with BBQ and pop up at a gen with circus music. Because...that is balanced gameplay in the eyes of many. This is what all killer mains want for all killers, a freddy-like power.
-
It's another undeserved, unbalanced killer buff to a perk that rewards a killer for the opposing side of doing the objective. I don't blame killers for using such a perk. Other perks are stronger such as POP because it removes the objective progress. Ruin is even better.

Rank 10 energy. Myers and ghostface are countered pretty significantly by just rotating your camera on a gen. Micheals faster vaults are only marginally faster without Bamboozle or Fire Up. Not enough to make a difference in an area where the survivor was always going to be hit even by T2. The breakable doors on the new map literally only help in the preschool. You have to break the house ones now or they're literal infninites. massive surv buff.
Most gens don't have LOS with enough distance to avoid getting hit when he is spotted. A jungle gym is just one example. A little terror radius would be fair because he still has the stalking power for 1-shot. Imagine a Myers Tier 2 with no terror radius on demand. Ridiculous. Both preschool buildings with breakable walls is now killer sided, I've never seen a killer break the walls because of this, just another killer buff that never ends.

@ToxicMyers said:

how is he fair? he is a m1 killer with a reduced terror radius, has a hindrance as the start and has no map mobility. That isn't fair. He is underpowerd because every single one of his tiers can be looped easily, he has no power in chase and the fact his power is reduced when he stalks from afar (which makes no sense but ok). Ghostface is better than him and is arguably more balanced. Balance is equality on both sides. Playing as myers puts you on the shorter end of the stick. Its a 4v1 but he is so weak in 1v1. Killers should be able have some power over the survivors. In which myers has none. Take oni for example, he has no hindrance and gets his power off absorbing blood, and his power is stronger than tier 3. and he is balanced. Simply removing tier 1 or buffing tier 3 isn't going to break the game.
Being able to 1-shot and vault windows instantly is power in the chase! With how maps have been redesigned with a cap on pallets, so many dead zones, you shouldn't be having an issue. The new buildings are now even killer sided because killers refuse to break down the walls, and all the windows are closed! You want to talk about fair, we can talk all day about that. The Ghostface has no counterplay to his close proximity. Every ghostface tries to catch people off-guard in an injured state with NO TERROR RADIUS, and kill them. They also use it to have a huge advantage. That's the only thing making ghostface better in my opinion because that aspect of him is grossly unfair. Not every killer needs to be able to get to the other side of the map instantly, with BBQ, and other perks, this is too much advantage. I think killers are spoiled by Freddy and Spirit.

i really hope you are a dedicated troll on the forums. No you shouldn't be able to 4k with your eyes closed but myers has a hindrnce no other killer has. Imagine if at the start of the match your ability to work on gens was automatically slowed until you saw the killer. Doesn't seem fair now does it. Thats how myers is.
That's fair because he gets so much more powerful later on so it balances out. He's a well designed killer as-is. He is fair to play against, something most new killers are missing.

No killer needs buffs. You are not supposed to 4K with your eyes closed.
As far as GF is concerned, he should be nerfed to give the sound he once gave when nearby.

Review, lol. Review means baby survivors are having trouble, so we are going to neuter the killer.
Your definition of baby might mean 99.5% of the playerbase. That is not how games should be balanced. Four survivors all with thousands of hours on comms to counter a killer is not the definition of balance.

Technically you can counter it as you would any other M1 with Dead Hard. If we are being technical.
Fact is, survivors that are good against him know they need to zone themselves out, fake pallet drops, window vaults, because unless you are locked mid animation his power does not work unless you stood still. (Meaning you didn’t move left or right.)
I’ve had survivors that instead of dropping the pallet they kept going, I used my power and they had enough time to pallet stun me afterwards. It’s a mind game because PH players have to also guess whether the survivor will continue looping or not.
The other time I see PH players out their sword down to cancel M2 is in a dead zone, which in that case the only reason they are doing it is because they want you to step in their Rites of Judgement. Because with bloodlust they can catch up to you no matter what.
You aren’t meant to loop him like an M1 killer, but more like a ranged killer like Huntress for example. Would you throw down a pallet at a Huntress aiming her hatchet? If you are a smart player you won’t, because it would mean a guaranteed hit for her.
If they were to give PH a long cool down, then they would have to completely reduce the cool down after he misses, because his power (which IMO is not meant to be spammed) would feel atrocious at that point. You would have no opportunity to use it because of how limited it would feel.
That is hypothetically speaking. That is the same argument people use defending spirit. I am talking about when you both arrive at a pallet or window at about the same time (which happens a lot!) every damn PH puts his sword down when he has no business doing so if using his power as it was intended, he waits for you to get into animation, once you are in animation the survivor has no damn options but take the hit with his M2 blast, if you try to fake it, guess what, he cancels M2 and you get hit with M1 anyway. Since you mentioned Huntress, it is the same deal. Although she can aim over you head and hit you so that's even worse.
-
So toolboxes were made insignificant and now flashlights? Mind blown.
-
Because cancelling his M2 has no counterplay. That should be a long cooldown. He also shouldn't cancel out survivor perks.
-
You are the kind that have been ignored for a long time. A solo survivor is at an extreme disadvantage with all the survivor nerfs vs killer buffs and stronger killer perks that have been done. Without SWAT level coordination and genrushing, you are guaranteed to lose.

Is your whole entire account really being an annoying survivor and complaining about killer when survivor is and has been way stronger? Killer is not strong. Neither Is slugging. I play both sides to red ranks, survivor is 1000 times easier and even in solo que at that. Killer I can have all three on death hook and be on 5 gens and they'll still pull it off either by only hiding, using a key, or cranking the toxicity to ten. Killer games are tense and frustrating. Survivor games I just toy with the killer and win easily, even solo que with bad teammates. Solo que is definitely still fine, especially with the gen speed right now. 3 gens can pop in a minute no problem if you are solo que and know the other three will just do not gens, granted you have to be good at looping.
Point is I solo que only got to rank 2 survivor. And it was easier than rank 3 killer by ten miles.
Did you create your new account just to disagree with me?
I haven't played to Rank1 for the first time, but for a long time. It is not hard to reach rank 1 so the fact you reached rank 1 means nothing. I refuse to believe you play enough solo to have that opinion. Most matches are a bloodbath I can promise you that, especially at red ranks. The outcome of the match directly depends on the killer, the killer they are using, and the perks/addons they are using. Looping does not work for half the killers so the only defense is rush gens asap which is exactly anti-fun. Stealth does not work for most of the killers, you now have a new killer with a wallhack addon so stealth is thrown out the window. Killer is a walk in the park unless it is 4man on comms on cocaine. You shouldn't have to join a party to have an equal chance at winning, that's horrible balance.
-
Because the game is no longer balanced around solo queue. It is not that the survivors are bad, it is because it is balanced for genrushing. Killers are too fast, killer perks are too strong, slugging is too strong, there is perks that even encourage slugging. If you are not on a coordinated team then you are automatically at a huge disadvantage with an extremely high likely-hood of not seeing the gates opened. Survivors have to play the game ignoring most of the game mechanics to win.
-
Anyone saying the new killer is bad is just bad. No excuse to not get a 4K every game unless it is a 4man swat team on cocaine.
The wall hack add-on is just icing on the cake.
-
Chase them. There's no greater downside to being able to see each other.

Lack of good survivors. Even if team of 4 has one bad player killer can win easily in that case. I hope matchmaking will solve that issue.
This is a major misconception. DBD is not a team game whatsoever, just because there's 4 survivors does not mean they are supposed to be an organized team. The story indicates four survivors are put in a desolate location that are not supposed to know each other. The idea right here that if one survivor is a little weaker than the others means the entire team will definitely fail confirms there is a major balancing issue. It confirms killers are way too overpowered.
-
He's unfun and unbalanced because he has no cooldown when switching his power. A barely decent PH can hold his power at a pallet and hit you with his M2 if you throw it down or use his M1 if you don't. Absolutely zero counterplay and it's wrong.

Same as bringing a purple toolbox or keys
Keys don't hold a candle to moris. A key would be like repairing only 2.5 of all the gens and being able to open the gates.
-
The last time they were brave enough to release stats, SWF had survival rates marginally higher than solos with both being less than 50%. Penalizing SWF when the greatest percentage is already disadvantaged wouldn't make sense. Maybe killer should have a slight debuff right now against solos would make better sense.
-
This is an inherent advantage killers have with lobbies. Don't like flashlights? Smells like a SWF? Leave.
Unfortunately, survivors are greatly disadvantaged at avoiding overpowered killers or those with broken attributes.
