  • A blessing in disguise for Switch gamers with the Pay to Win slop they pushed with Sinister Grace's Krasue.

  • It's the dilemma of asking developers to buff the weaker killers who need it, but not asking them to adjust the blatantly overperforming killers as well. When Blight can go on a 2k win streak, why should I bother switching off to Pig, Ghostface, or Myers that get changes? A happy medium for all killers would be best for balance.

  • @BloodBird said:

    ya but put a timer on it than, if its within 30 seconds it stays active, after 30 seconds its conditional on no new hooks occuring.

    Or, you could leave it as it is, as Decisive Strike is a non-issue perk currently. Nerfing the only anti-tunnel perk is very strange. I'm not sure why you want to complicate things when the survivor would have done nothing for sixty seconds after being unhooked to get the stun off before the generators are done.

  • No, this wouldn't work as it has been discussed before. If you are camped and the previous survivor is downed during the unhook. Then you are immediately downed because you can't make any distance, DS would then be deactivated after they hook the previous player, not even ten seconds later.

  • It's okay, the developers will clearly nerf this overtuned killer within a week, like they did with Fog Vials or postponing the anti-tunnel changes while making Decisive Strike the only paid counter to tunneling, right? Their bias clearly won't leave this killer overtuned for months on end like Ghoul, right?

  • Survivors never get anything interesting or cool anymore. As far as I can tell, this is going to be another overreaction from the community that barely affects the game.

  • There's a massive elephant in the room with this contest. Where are the male survivors? To make matters worse, regardless of whether it was intentional, male characters still feel second-class to the females, and for the Developer Pick, you completely ignored them once again. With this addition, the outfit ratio is unbalanced in favor of killers, and I feel fans of male survivors deserve something to look forward to as well. It may be a good idea to rethink your approach to these contests so that everyone feels valued, as this is quite disappointing.

  • I don't see a reason for holding a vote on what perks to rework when they'd already have the data on the least popular perks in the game as it is. Popular streamers would likely manipulate votes to yield the results they want anyway.

    lol sure, “killers get everything.” Meanwhile survivors only got…
    basekit BT + Haste on unhook, an anti-facecamp meter, the SoloQ HUD (gen/heal/chase/totem/doors + hook counters), repeated slowdown nerfs (Eruption/Brine/Overcharge/PR stacking trimmed, Deadlock toned), safer map flows, clearer aura/readability… but yup, “just BT.” 😉

    nobody’s saying killers don’t have a power state — it’s a 4v1.

    (the killer has to be the power role — it’s 4v1. Four survivors can split tempo, stack info/resources, and cover each other’s mistakes. The killer is solo and needs the bigger lever. If one survivor were as strong as the killer, four together would be busted.
    Do you want to go back to 2016, where a single survivor could run the killer for five gens? That’s just not understanding how asym games work.)

    But pretending survivors haven’t been handed QoL and safety nets for years is wild.

    And it’s not like killers never get chopped down. Plenty of killer nerfs:

    • Nurse add-ons trimmed;
    • Blight flick/turn caps + Alch Ring/Vial/other add-on hits;
    • Spirit audio clarity + MDR nerfs;
    • Hillbilly overheat + add-on rework;
    • Deathslinger ADS delay/reload/TR—quickscope dead;
    • Twins more downtime/recall windows;
    • Knight / Skull Merchant anti-3-gen & stall reworks;

    and so on..

    , as there's no real reason to play survivor unless you have a premade ready to go.

    And that last line? ehhw, ouf? It’s always the same cycle:
    “My team played bad → nerf killer.”

    Posts like these are comical because you don't want a balanced or fun game; you want a game that caters to you being mediocre in your preferred role, and as long as you are loud, it doesn't matter one bit to the developers how wrong you are. The game is one-sided in the majority of games and is probably the most miserable PvP game I own. If you want to be a bully, Killer is fantastic at it in public lobbies, and there is next to nothing done to mitigate that type of gameplay from the developers. SWF can't even hold a 50% win rate at the top level of play, Ghoul is still a horrid experience after months, and we're looking at Fog Vials sucking up bloodpoints while being next to useless with Keys and Maps. I honestly laughed at the thought of you bringing up Nurse and Blight getting slap-on-the-wrist nerfs, as if these two with these nerfs aren't dominating matches left and right as if nothing happened at all.

  • Absolutely, there's no question. I'm not even sure how you could argue that it's not when Behavior intentionally skews Killer win rates to be higher than survivors. That's a surface level. When you go deeper, you realize that the majority of mechanics and game design absolutely cater to killers. The only notable change survivors have experienced over the years is the Borrowed Time perk becoming a base kit feature. From the map changes to the perk adjustments, it's always been in favor of killers when placed side by side. While that's not a bad thing, as survivors had an unfair advantage for the first few years, you see the inverse currently, where you can be pure dog water and the developers will cater to you and give you a win rate that any PvP game would see as unhealthy for the standard player at 60%+. The above approach is not feasible for long-term gain, as there's no real reason to play survivor unless you have a premade ready to go.

  • With Fog Vials being worthless now, I'd like to see them removed from my bloodwebs to reduce the clutter.

  • There will never be an operational health patch because the devs refuse to balance out the overpowered killers that they've left in the game for years. In any other balanced PvP game, Blight and Nurse would not exist.

    its a blight….litterally just loop him like any other killer…its not a nurse or kaneki with kindap tech, im sorry but yall have some serious skill issue if u think there is no counter for a killer after 5 damn years lmao

    i would understand if it was nurse, but blight lol

    dw if u complain enough they will skull merchant him since this community loves that clueless

    and then u will see even more nurses.

    and the fact a lot of his strong addons got reworked/nerfed and we still see complains is just amazing.

    "It's a blight." Exactly. The killer is S-tier after all these years and can achieve win streaks in the thousands. That's not balanced in an actual PvP game, and the counterplay is nonexistent after a certain point, given the small maps and the lack of resources in them. Do you play survivor in solo queue? If you did, you would be able to count the wins against blight on a single hand.

  • Can we killswitch Ghoul and Blight, considering that one is pay-to-win and the other is overpowered?

  • You're honestly not missing much with the chat box, as it's primarily used for toxicity. I feel it should be scrapped with a chat wheel using dialogue options outside and during the match, similar to what DBDMobile had. Solo queue would benefit from having dialogue and communication, even if it's simple.

  • If they separated Kobe's from the hook timer and tied it to luck rarity offerings and perks, that would be fine. It would not be fine if they simply made them free without a cost.

  • It's purely up to you if you want to play the Ghoul, just don't be surprised when the survivors give you salt for playing a killer that has the freest hit in the game, with nearly the best mobility, and Chuckie's scamper.

  • Singularity is fine. I honestly feel this discussion would be better suited if players enjoy Blight, as he's currently overpowered and will generally win every game you play with him while using one of the most cookie-cutter builds.

    when did i say cenobite and knight are unbalanced? i just said that if the devs implement a killer ban feature that they wont get matches due to survivors disliking their gameplay loop. Stop attacking me for no reason and come with actual arguments. instead of buh buh unbalanced this and that…

    You brought up an argument, saying that I'm calling Cenobite and Knight overpowered when I didn't. Saying that I don't feel like you read the things you're typing is not an attack when you want to make things up out of what I'm writing. Beyond that, I will not respond to you further; you're a biased player who wants to create drama and fabricate statements.

  • Welcome to the forums! Please keep in mind that this space is heavily biased with people who don't want a balanced game and will defend their mains/side regardless of how one-sided or unhealthy they are.

    so your saying knight and cenobite are "unbalanced"??? they are both B tier at BEST

    No, you are the one saying they are considering you wrote them in your own first message. I'm saying they're not and would get matches. I honestly don't think you even read the things you type out.

    This would make matchmaking impossible for certain killers... (nurse/blight/kaneki/knight/cenobite etc etc)

    Exactly. If these killers are not balanced, why should anybody be forced to play against things that are unhealthy? Even though Cenobite and Knight will still get matches, I can predict the winner the moment the game starts if it will be Nurse, Blight, or Ghoul. I wonder if the developers even play their own game, as these three shouldn't exist in their current states if you want to classify Dead by Daylight as a PvP game.

  • For a game with 40 killers and this number to continue to grow, I'd love to see a killer ban feature if we're going the route of banning certain maps. Certain killers are blatantly problematic, and rather than be forced to play against something incredibly anti-fun and possibly pay 2 win, I'd rather ban the killer from my queues than play out a pointless solo queue match that was over before it started.

  • I imagine a casual mode could work, but it would be playing against a bot killer or bot survivors for reduced rewards. Some people play for fun with or without their friends, and a casual mode would allow them to do so without the negative aspects of gameplay that drive people away: No camping, no tunneling, no grouping up against the killer. A casual mode would also allow players to learn how a killer or perks function while still gaining bloodpoints and having a less competitive experience. Survivors would pair up as usual, but would match against a random bot killer, and any killer players would have bot survivors as opponents with curated developer builds. It would fulfill the need for a more in-depth tutorial, as it would be a tutorial mode in and of itself.

  • I don't mind whether it continues to exist or not; however, Myers is fairly mid-tier at best. I'd like it to be more obvious whether he has it or not, as it can dictate the actions of the survivor. Beyond that, Myers could truly use some love, as he can feel outdated in comparison to the current game.

  • In addition to maps being one-sided and SWF, Blight, Nurse, and Ghoul are also blatantly problematic, but the developers continue to ignore them.

  • It's crazy that they're altering killers like Clown, yet leave killers like Blight and Ghoul the way they are. Blight is flat-out overpowered, yet they completely ignore it and allow him to continue with 1000+ victories. Ghoul is unhealthy, yet left as it is.

  • DBD also needs its killers to be balanced better. There's currently no reason to play against Nurse, Blight, and Ghoul. They're fundamentally overpowered and unhealthy. Every other killer has some level of counterplay, but these three are notorious for being pointless to try against if the player knows what they're doing and wants to win. Why the developers continue to look the other way while Ghoul gets more disconnects and salt than I've seen with Skull Merchant, and Blight continues to dominate with one thousand plus victories in a row, I'll never know.

  • Shoulder the Burden and Reassurance come to mind. You'll seldom see these perks in solo queue, yet spreading hooks evenly across the team makes for a stronger chance at victory. Keeping your teammates who last less than fifteen seconds in chase on the hook until another chase is initiated is also a boon and leads to far less tunneling. It's a shame that you'll commonly find players farming their teammates when they have 45+ seconds remaining on their hook timer with Reassurance to boot.

  • I'd bump We'll Make It down to A tier simply because it's not consistent at all in solo queue. Generally, I feel like you're fighting the other survivors for unhooks in half your matches, to where you get no value at all, and Botany Knowledge will always be the better choice because of that. I'd also rather use Do No Harm over We'll Make It simply because you don't have to rely on being the one to unhook.

    The one bug I can tell for sure from that vid is the RPD stairs pallet. That's definitely worth reporting. But killers have always been able to buttblock the pallet from one side like that Bubba did. Do you have some clips of other maps/pallet locations where this happens? The one I thought I timed up correctly was just one of the log pallets on Temple of Purgation.

    I've had it happen on Garden of Joy as Springtrap. A Feng should have gotten a pallet save, but did not. I've had it happen against an Unknown on Ormond that should have been pallet saved, made the stun effect, and had movement, yet it didn't count.

  • @Rogue11 said:

    Do you have any evidence of this? I missed a pallet save yesterday so I'd love to have an excuse…

    It happened to me in the game multiple times, but here's a video I found on Reddit that is also showcasing it: https://www.reddit.com/r/DeadByDaylightRAGE/comments/1lrfb2i/pallet_stuns_ii_the_sequel/

  • It's hilarious that Tokyo Ghoul was delayed, yet it is probably the most unhealthy aspect of the game currently.

    Because I'm pretty sure the devs actually bought Haddie's skin from the artist, she didn't actually win the competition. Since they paid for it, I imagine it will end up in the store for auric cells as opposed to being released in the Rift and purchasable with only shards in future like the other winners.

    Hopefully, they will release a statement on this to clarify what this skin is considered or where Haddie's eligibility lies. It's the only skin that they've pulled from their contests, bypassing community voting to add to the game.

  • You could run anything, the survivors will still disconnect on you in the majority of matches because their fun doesn't seem to matter to the devs when designing this killer.

  • @HeroLives said:

    I think with all the changes coming to survivor some of the lower end killers can use a bump to keep up with the times. Seems fair. I think there’s always ways you can alleviate whether it’s just adding something in for them or just a buff to numbers to help out.

    Trapper should start with all his traps for one unless he’s using the reset addons. I saw someone say he should be able to throw traps, I think that’s a fun idea.

    Hag decrease on teleport time, buff her ms a little bit

    That’s just off the top of my head.

    Stealth killers ms buff when not in chase

    I don't think this would be possible as it'd lead to the legion effect, where you could trail survivors while not being in a chase with them. It'd result in annoying gameplay where the optimal play is moonwalking at your opponent.

  • Stealth killers are fine. I generally find Nurse, Blight, and Ghoul as the top three most "broken" killers. Nurse creates a situation in which the survivors might as well not even be playing the game, as if the Nurse knows what they're doing, it's effectively a single-player game. Blight is flat-out overpowered on maps with massive dead zones and the size of a shoe box. Ghoul is poorly designed to give so much out of the first hit when it's effectively free. Probably the most unfun killer they've ever released. Even release Legion was more enjoyable to play against than Ghoul is currently.

  • The anniversary mode is poorly designed and one-sided, probably the most one-sided event they've ever created. Baffling how a studio could design an absolute dogshit mode and call it anniversary. The worst part about the mode is how everything seemingly continues to favor high mobility killers that don't get punished for making mistakes. We're on year nine, and Nurse is still in need of a rework, Blight is overpowered and needs slight nerfs, and Ghoul gets far too much out of their first hit for how free it is. Every other killer is either healthy or needs slight buffs. Solo queue continues to be neglected compared to SWF, and SWF needs slight nerfs as well. I'm not sure why they're not required to be at least different characters with unique perks and builds.

  • I never liked her, and I'm glad to see her cut from the game.

  • The only poorly designed aspect of Springtrap's kit is that it permits unrestrained camping and tunneling. They allow you to face camp the survivor with the hatchet raised, preventing anyone from even trading as they can't unhook the player. This is pretty bullshit design and they should either allow survivors to unhook with a hatchet on their back, or they should remove the ability to draw the hatchet within a certain proximity of hooks.

  • Boons should have unique colors depending on the perk used. Too many times, you'll expect Circle of Healing to be in play, and it ends up being something else. If multiple boons are in play, create a rainbow totem of the various boon colors picked.

  • They'll give survivors some irrelevant buff or addition that doesn't stop or discourage tunneling to justify buffing killers further.

  • Because money. If they're not going to killswitch a pay-to-win skin they just released, there's no way they'll killswitch the bugged-out killer, either.

  • I miss when the developers attempted to balance their game fairly.

  • I'd sooner uninstall the game than play against this killer. Nothing about it was designed well or with fun in mind when playing against it. The kit is cheap and feels awful when you have an auto-aim long-range free hit/deep wound while locking them in place. The bugs are numerous and unresolved. I've gotten survivors trapped in windows and cancelled my dash mid-jump to get a hit. Overall, a horrible killer, I hope Behavior feels ashamed and ultimately changes them.

    P.S. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!"
    If you don't want to hear constant screaming, you'll need to pay them 15 dollars of in-game currency.

  • If they got rid of the hatch, I hope they remove the pity kills killers constantly achieve by face camping since the developers think it's okay to be horrible and get a 1k by staring at the hook in the end game. Completely undeserved handholding if the hatch is too much to bear.

  • @100PercentBPMain said:

    survivor feet noise change depending on the type of shoe. is that not the case here? glitchtrap is a fuzzy bunny suit i think since it's not real whereas Springtrap is a huge clunking bot.

    is it pay to win? yeah, that's just physics. how is that different from sandals clopping, or Asian girls making high pitched moaning? there are going to be some biological/physiological differences that set some characters apart.

    survivors can change outfits for better stealth too. where's the controversy for people trying to change Sables default hair?

    A more comparable situation is when Claudette had her L4D2 black shirt changed because it was too difficult to see her. I'm not sure how somebody can defend a killer that can get free grabs and hits because they turn invisible, and the skin makes them essentially silent. This is pure P2W as it gives an advantage over the base killer as long as you pay money into it.

  • @CruelLimits1982 said:

    Freddy can use doors now? Freddy Krueger mains cannot stop winning

    The animatronic. I couldn't care less for what the character is truly called. I thought it was Freddy Fazbear, since I'm not interested in FNAF. Without a doubt, this skin will receive a nerf in the future after they've sold enough of this slop. Invisibility + no sound can be yours for the low price of $14.75.

  • They only care about the killer experience, as expected. They don't care about survivors, or you wouldn't see what everyone knew all along. Nearly anyone who plays this game regularly can easily achieve a win rate of 70-80%. This is not a balanced or well-designed PvP game.
