  • In my opinion, he's a very powerful killer that's really balanced simultaneously.

  • I'd be cool with Springtrap being added but I don't think any other animatronics should be added, wouldn't fit.

  • @brokedownpalace you legit just prove my point of people just saying "no" without any reason on these

  • PRELUDE

I just wanted to really thank you for this post. I think a lot of people are making a turnaround with him being added into the game.

I'm not really that big of a FNaF fan and I made a chase music concept on YT and it's actually ~70k views as of now. The feedback is really positive, and as you said with people saying no to it having ridiculous claims, anyone who dislikes it just says something along the lines of "this is cringe" or simply "no."

I just made a video detailing how he could work (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yg6Ss6JBko&t=14s), I mainly want him for more variety within the killer roster aesthetically.

    DIFFERENT STATE OF THE FRANCHISE

People are comparing this to creepypastas and such and it's not the case. Right now, I believe the games are being made in collaboration with game studios, and just recently we heard word from Blumhouse that the Five Nights at Freddy's movie is being made at a 'rapid pace.' I think it is a horror icon if it's getting a movie adaptation, I mean, even Silent Hill did.

I think a lot of people believe it's exactly how it was years ago when a ton has changed with it. It's no longer this weird franchise where a bunch of young children are weirdly obsessed with indie horror games. I went from seeing insane and just cringey stuff being pushed out of that franchise to the community maturing and wanting a direction like this to happen. If Demogorgon can fit in, I honestly think Springtrap can fit in more.

I mean, Stranger Things is literally aimed for teenagers (13 and up) yet there are still a lot of adults and late teens in the franchise. That's the current case of FNaF. Stranger Things still has these weird young fans as well, and even middle school girls who obsess over the actors and characters. Each franchise that's aimed towards teenagers and stuff will always have the minority of its audience being too young, but the horrific characters themselves can be easily used in mature content.

    TIMING IS EVERYTHING

This would be the perfect time to even start on a FNaF chapter to release it in the upcoming months to be honest. It would even make sense to be released after the movie in a year or two. FNaF's quality as of now has skyrocketed by collaborating with game studios. Their new game (I do not know the title of it) is going to be released towards the end of this year, it's being made in Unreal Engine 4, and apparently there will be actual human characters and blood and all that good stuff.

Oh yeah, survivors don't even need to be included. If they are though, the new game is sure to have actual human designs and personalities from what I've seen.

A FNaF chapter would totally work in DBD, and if people are still not convinced, I'd wait until this new game is out.

  • In my opinion, I don't think that's the case. A killer that's mechanical and a mascot would add a lot more variety to the killer roster, as it is still humanoid and fits the conditions to be a killer. It plays on the fear of mascots and lifeless characters being lively which no other killer effectively does. It's not like demogorgon in a sense where it's just a creature, apparently it's a sentient serial killer.

Of course it will be unoriginal because it's a licensed killer, but if anything, this would be one extremely interesting idea. If Stranger Things was added and this franchise targets the same audience nowadays, if anything, it would be a better addition to the game than Stranger Things. Even the rotting aesthetic and color palette seems to fit within DBD.

  • I commented this on another Springtrap post, and he's been getting a lot of attention to be added in game.

A year ago I would've been heavily against this, but I'm completely fine with it now. I think it would really add some variety to killers in the game and would just be scary in general to face off against a mascot, plus he's a serial killer (I think at least, I'm not really that knowledgeable of the FNaF games).

Plus, I've done my research, and FNaF seems to have a resurgence and their newest games are being made in Unreal Engine 4. I tried out their VR game and that scared me half to death, so honestly, I'd be really down for him.

(Not commenting on your actual concept because I'm bad with that stuff, but I'd be down for him in game!)

  • You should get BBQ and WGLF stacks, but everything else, no.

Part of what makes Pyramidhead unique is that he can counter perks like DS and apply immediate map pressure, but some of the meta perks that won't work due to it is a fair tradeoff of it. I know you can still get WGLF stacks from protection hits, but BBQ is completely pointless.

I think that only BP gaining perks that apply to hooks should be viable, but everything else, possibly not. Some perks are just useless against specific killers and you can't do much about it (self healing perks against plague, etc). As a Pyramidhead using Pop as well, it encourages me to hook more survivors and to strategically decide if I should apply map pressure or direct generator pressure.

TLDR: BP perks should not be affected by cages but everything else should.

  • I agree with @Dabihwow, but I think another killer would be The Deathslinger. With his lore, if you've wronged him, he will stop at nothing to get his revenge in the most brutal way. He'd probably hunt you down throughout his entire life. The weapon as well is worse than a gun, because you'd be sure to suffer.

The Plague's effects would be horrific to go against in real life to be honest. Just mass vomiting every 30 seconds or so. Realistically speaking again, you'd probably be dead by that. You'd be utterly miserable from it, but then you'll lose all your energy from it, and just eventually die a slow and agonizing death. It would be even scarier as well, just imagine having this Plague and then spreading it to cities and such, with pools of devotion nowhere in sight with nothing else being able to treat it. Scary #########.

  • On the concept itself:

I'm not one to comment on the perks itself, but this concept and character has been on the rise. The only thing I'd say is to not name him The Machine. I don't think that really fits with him from what I really know, because I think he's a human as well. I'd call him The Attraction or The Mascot to be completely honest, The Machine sounds bland. Other than that, I wouldn't include a survivor to be completely honest. I think there's a new FNaF game coming out towards the end of this year (?) introducing actual human designs and such, so I would wait until then. If that doesn't work out, I'd just have Springtrap be added on his own.

On the character coming into the game:

A year ago I would've said hell no to this, but now, I'm more open to Springtrap than ever.

If the Demogorgon was added and even Stranger Things was aimed towards teens and adults, FNaF seems to have that target audience now. To be honest, I thought it was on the same level as those odd indie "horror" games that all these younger children go to, but apparently, the community doesn't seem like that now. It seems a lot of the community is a lot older and such, and I believe the new games are being made in Unreal Engine 4 in collaboration with other studios now.

Community or not, I think he would be a really neat addition to the game. We need more variety in killers as well, and this plays on the fear of robots and mascots which would be great. I believe he's a sentient human as well inside of the suit (from what I've heard), and with his pretty humanoid design already, I believe it's humanoid enough to get added.

I just think if an aggressive Springtrap killer was added, clanking metal feet, fleshy sounds and all, would be terrifying to go up against in my opinion. I'm not too much into the FNaF franchise itself, but I think the killer as a whole would be a scary one to add to the game.

  • Looking back on this, I truly think this comes down to if the character is executed well. As someone who has been part of both of these franchises for multiple years, I know that each has grown and FNaF is no exception.

FNaF fell into a pot with young kids obsessing with thriller/mild horror indie games, and at this point and time, seems to have gotten out of that pot. Though the younger audience may still remain, it is definitely a minority. The majority seems to be teenagers and older, and though that may not be reassuring, look at the Stranger Things chapter. It's specifically aimed for teens and up as well (TV-14) and well, a ton of teenagers and up watch it. That doesn't mean that some younger kids don't watch it, but that is a minority of people who watch it similar to FNaF.

A concept of this I came up with on Reddit got around 1.5k upvotes and rewards for Springtrap as a character, and it made me notice that it's not the character itself that's bad, but the fear of the execution and younger parts of the fanbase that may follow. Nobody wants some goofy unfitting animatronic moving through the Entity's realm, but it can fit well if it's retextured and slightly redesigned. Furthermore, the Demogorgon doesn't fit that well either, but it still works.

I think that a character like Springtrap would work well and play on many fears as well, as @BirdFlox said, it's unique but not too out there. A clanking abomination of a rotting corpse and metal would be terrifying to hear across the match and to see and hear approach.

TLDR: A FNaF x DBD (specifically Springtrap) crossover could totally work if it was executed well.

  • Thing is, FNaF sort of fell into the pot of children obsessing over basic horror games, or games with a thriller element to it. In reality, it's much more than that and didn't deserve to fall into that pot. It's in the process of rebranding itself, as especially seen with the great and terrifying entry of Help Wanted and this new UE4 game to come this summer I believe.

Similar to Stranger Things, that show is TV-14 which is pretty much aimed towards Teens and up. FNaF aims towards that too, and I think a terrifying mascot with a corpse in it running around can play with many fears (fear of mascots, robots, inanimate objects, etc).

When you analyze it and see that the majority of the fanbase has now matured and it's not as flooded with younger kids such as with other franchises (BATIM, Hello Neighbor, and whatever the ######### else) and that the fanbase itself wants some sort of big break to truly make it terrifying with crossovers and the introduction of a new game, I think that this is the point in time FNaF would truly work out.

A small redesign and an overhaul in textures with Springtrap would make him fit seemlessly into the game and introduce an aggressive, loud, and anxiety causing killer in my personal opinion. People will always want Pennywise, Jason, etc. and some people are upset about Pyramidhead being added, but I would be completely fine with Springtrap being added and I do not think he'd be a waste. Plus from what I know with the creator of FNaF, the license should be extremely easy to obtain as long as it's treated with care.

  • The idea of BATIM being added is completely insane and stupid, but that doesn't mean you can't have fun with a concept. That may be bias because I don't find the series scary in the slightest, but I personally don't think he'd work.

I would give feedback for your concept as a concept itself, but I'm too lazy.

  • No survivors are needed, and they shouldn't be included.

  • Hey guys,

Whether you want him in the game or not is up to you, I just like both franchises and was bored with this quarantine, so I put some of my time into this. Sorry if it was choppy, it was made quickly as well. Just thought it would be a cool crossover project for me :)

This is not a post about whether he should be in the game or not, but feel free to discuss it if you want. It's just not coming from my end.

  • hey, uh, can you maybe fit this all into one single thread so this whole entire subcategory isn't spammed thanks\

other than that, your perks are either pretty useless or are unbalanced to the current state of the game.

  • Aftermath

All survivors within 24 meters of a completed generator will suffer from the Exposed status effect for 15/20/25 seconds and their locations will be revealed.

    The Trials We Face

After remaining Injured for 90/75/60 seconds, gain a token. Each token will give you a 4% haste effect. If you gain a token, you must leave and enter the Injured state again in order to gain another one.

  • This isn't me saying Legion needs a rework or anything..

I should've included that I tried to give Legion a power based off of the trailers. I actually am fine with the current Legion and play him, so I should probably include that crucial piece of information and probably not have called this a rework.

However, I'm not saying this needs to be a rework. I think he may need one down the road, because though I like him, he's incredibly boring to play as and against.

  • I'd be fine if FNaF was added to DBD, but not like this at all.

If Springtrap was redesigned and the phantoms weren't added, it would actually be scary. But how you presented it would be a huge nope for me, especially as a fan for FNaF. I personally believe it can fit in DBD if executed right, however.

  • @CheersTC Well, I just put it there. I had to quickly rewrite it because I don't have the original, so apologies if it's bad, but the main thing of him killing a whole academy is the take away. When the entity takes him, he's an adult because The Legion already exists. I tried really hard to make the survivor perks not that SWFable, and even tried to balance out heal rushing with medkits. I really appreciate it, and the killer's power was so difficult cause a lot of them are hard to pull off.

  • @CheersTC You get the 2% haste effect for each sacrificed survivor. Each hook grants you 7% increased haste, and I forgot to change it, but the duration should be way shorter. Great eye though.

I forgot to put the backstory of the killer, and I will get to that if you're interested in reading it. Thanks for the kind words :>

  • These perks feel like it's part of the killer's power.

Also, this is pretty much the addons for the Doctor, or at least they're tweaked a little bit. The last perk is like Freddy's power pretty much.

TLDR: All of these perks are more of a killer power, and it's a weird blend between the Doctor & Freddy. I honestly suggest not working on this idea because it's pretty much the doctor, but it is a good attempt!

  • @EnderloganYT I've done previous killer ideas before, and some of them got really popular (especially on reddit, I once got thousands of upvotes and awards apparently), so that may be how you saw it. Alternatively, sometimes other people offer their ideas for perks to me and allow me to use them. EDIT: Now the perk is redone regardless.

@Godot Thank you so much for the feedback! Will make the changes, and I will try to experiment with powers. I just know people typically don't like trap killers, but I'll try. EDIT: I've changed some! I like them a lot better, thank you for the feedback. Will try to work on the power. Also, the other post you saw might have been me, but it was a repost from the idea I had of it that I posted on Reddit. Wanted to do a fresh start since I'm way more acquainted with the game now.

  • After hearing this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAQnuW8iNm4&t=8s), I think The Legion should get their own custom chase music. I'm pretty sure they hate trying to rework Legion, but if they ever did another big overhaul of him, they should totally give him chase music. Even if they don't, he would have some sick ass chase music that instills a sense of panic w/ his power.

  • I LOVE the amount of effort put into this.

@CheersTC already summarized some changes you will make, but the one I will really stress with him is Rose. Rose, even as an addon, should not work. Ultra Rare addons should totally change the game, but should never allow an automatic death of a survivor.

My only other complaint is the amount of girls within the power. There are a ton, and all are creative in their own way sure, but that is a ton. Imagine on smaller maps what it would be like, it would be unbalanced to be honest. Even if they have a small detection range, they still wander around. Maybe take off one or two of them.

    • As a side note on the girls, I think all of them doing something unique might be troublesome for survivors. Powers can be complex, but studying what each individual girl looks like and does seems like a chore. I suggest maybe creating two types (or something like that) of girls with each type having their own unique clothing.

But seriously, the effort is fantastic. Nice art as well, I don't know if you made it or not, but it's nice.

  • Okay, yes but not for this particular reason. I don't tunnel to win, and there are specific instances within the game that would make me do it other than that.

I normally don't tunnel at all, and purposefully go away from hooks so they have the chance to unhook.

These are the only reasons I would tunnel:

    • If I don't even have a chance to properly get away from the hook and they get unhooked. That's their team's fault, and I can use their bad timing to my advantage.
    • If it's an incredibly large map, such as Red Forest, I would normally not really have anyone else to go for. I would need to apply pressure still, and if they're on the other side of the map, I can't do that. In that scenario, it's not like I'll purposefully go back to hook, but I wouldn't really take into account if you were recently hooked. This is if I'm not a high-mobility killer. (Also, please fix the huge maps. They look really nice, but horrible to play in as killer at least).
    • If they're toxic, there's almost a 100% chance of me doing so. You have survivors blind you at every pallet, teabag all the time, and insta-heal twice in front of you. It's not like I will tunnel on purpose, but I will totally be less lenient about it towards these people. They especially get flustered because they do all of this and wonder why they were tunneled, and then killers are the one who are toxic, makes me wanna give up as killer.
    • Sometimes it's unintentional. You can get unhooked and around 30 seconds later I may run into you when not even going back to the hook. I may subconsciously realize they were hooked, but it's not the main thing I think of when I go after them.
    • This isn't totally tunneling, but I will fixate on a survivor if they disrespect me. If they have tools at their disposal (i.e. flashlights and insta-heals) I probably won't. However, if they finish a generator right in front of me, then I will fixate on them for a little bit on purpose. I also bring STBFL due to the disrespect at times.

We are all aware that we tunnel. However, many of the times it's not of malicious intent. Sometimes it's fair and the survivor team's fault, other times it's due to if the survivors are toxic or not, sometimes it's nobody's fault and it just happens, and sometimes it's completely unintentional. Like the comment above me, we all realize when we tunnel, but 'tunneling' isn't always 100% toxic in certain scenarios.

I've recently have given up about my red rank and started playing killers I haven't really played, but even when survivors clearly see you are new to a specific killer, they're still really toxic sometimes. I'm not saying killers aren't toxic either, but sometimes it's really rough.

  • A lot of these perks would not work, and the killer needs to be more specific to the series. I think Dean would work better personality-wise, and that the chapter could work, but it wouldn't be a first pick in any way. These perks need to be reworked of yours the most, in my opinion:

    • Boomstick - Not only should a survivor not be carrying a weapon in general, but it's an unfair perk that can easily be renewed. It's literally a portable Decisive Strike with no boundaries other than the cooldown. Not only that, but although I like your logic, doing extra penalties to a specific killer is unfair.
    • Veteran - Revealing what the killer ability is would just be weird on the UI in my opinion, not only that, but why not make it an aura reading perk at that point? What's it doing, quizzing your knowledge? Not only that, but at the max tier of stunning for an extra 3 seconds... that's nuts. This and Boomstick being used in a SWF would be incredibly toxic, and just in general without SWF. Running this with DS or Boomstick is just sh*t.
    • Resurrection - I think you forgot that people typically leave the end-match lobby once they've died. Not only that, but this is incredibly unfair to the killer. It literally just undos an entire 1/4 of the killer's objective.
    • Lockpick - Not only would this be super useless because it only applies to bear traps, but Reverse Bear Traps being able to be removed? No f*cking way. That is literally disabling someone's power, and they can't even be removed by another person!

Not only that, but the killer power being reliant on generators and not able to be controlled by the killer is bad. I did a werewolf chapter idea as well (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/139470/werewolf-chapter-idea-images-included#latest - shameless self promotion). It doesn't mean that you have to use the active ability button or it has to be able to be toggled by a single button, but if this were only triggered by generators, it would be super slow and dull in the early stages and feel restraining. This would be a killer that is not usually played in red ranks, or any ranks for that matter due to how the ability is strengthened. For an ability to actually work, you need the killer to have some sort of control over it without it randomly activating/upgrading. Your goal as a killer is to make sure the generators aren't finished, and doing that job and then not gaining any power or ability leverage is just odd.

Supernatural in DBD? No. As someone who is a fan of the show, I just don't think it would really work. First, we shouldn't do another 2 survivor and 1 killer chapter. Second, Supernatural is a good show, but it's like picking the best ideas out of a worst ideas bin. The chapter based on everything you just listed? No.

Overall, I get that it's an idea, but Supernatural does not need to be in DBD. I absolutely love the effort you put into this so far, but a ton of things need to change for the actual concept. You should totally work on it some more because I feel like you can make this look really nice.

  • (Adding basic addons now guys!)

  • Thanks! I'm not planning to list all addons but I might when things come down to it.

  • Wow, that helps a TON! I will work on that ASAP!

Now, is there anything you particularly like with this kit? Such as a perk, backstory, or anything? It would help to know if I accomplished anything good as well @NuclearBurrito.

    EDIT: Changes made!

  • Sorry! I'm trying to add more information, and I couldn't fit all in one image. But I will now! Thanks for the suggestions, I will try to do that, I just need to research base information more.

  • Feast Time is my favorite, very well made and thought through!

  • I do not want them to be deleted, but they need to fix certain things such as if the game crashes or if they disconnect without them purposefully doing so (i.e. loss of internet connection). I don't think DC penalties should be removed per say, because it prevents people from ditching the game. However, it totally needs to fix the detection of what is a DC penalty.

On another side note, people really do just suicide on hooks. It's like a DC later in the match on purpose, this is another reason why I wan't a replacement for struggle.

  • I think it was good until the Unconscious status effect was introduced, really not needed. I think to make him more clownish, he should put some sort of goofy, clownish trap (such as a mallet springing from a locker and injuring them possibly), or maybe a balloon that explodes with the Afterpiece Tonic.

However, I think that in general, his power should be implemented in other ways other than lockers.

  • Thanks @DeadbyDeathGarden, I actually made it and posted it on the Reddit! It got a ton of positive reception, hence why I made this poll.

  • @DeadbyDeathGarden said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/138393/would-you-be-fine-with-springtrap-in-dbd

He'd be a copy of Legion as Springtrap is purple guy, a murderer with a knife. He'd be running around with his knife. Maybe he'd be able to hide in lockers with like a Head on effect? Also, people were asked if a FNAF animatronic was put in DBD, which one, not "Do you want FNAF in DBD."

The "Purple Man" would not be the one considering adding. Springtrap would be it if you refer to the images, so it's not someone running around with a knife. Not discrediting your opinion, but I'm making sure the right question gets across!

  • Legion has sick af music and makes me really want him to have custom chase music.

  • Legion has sick af music and makes me really want him to have custom chase music.

  • Bendy & Undertale: Hell no. Bendy doesn't even achieve the tone of a horror game by itself and Undertale can't even fit as a horror game at all. Both games are practically dead as well. You can see in my next thing talking about FNaF is that I have faith in it as well because it still maintains its popularity and its quality seems to be increasing.

FNAF: Yes. Specifically, with the direction the games are going now and if it's Springtrap. If you asked me about this a year ago, I would say the same thing as Bendy & Undertale. FNAF actually has potential, and it seems the community is re-branding itself to fit an older audience as well. I don't think they're just doing cheap jumpscare tactics anymore either. I researched their VR project that's terrifying and has 5/5 star ratings on Steam.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted is a collection of classic and original mini-games set in the Five Nights universe. Experience the horror in flat (non-VR) mode or VR. Oculus Rift and HTC Vive are supported. A VR Headset is NOT required to play.

I did some more digging and the company behind the VR one is working on with collaboration with the creator a new game in Unreal Engine 4, and with how scary the VR one was, I think it will be good.

Do I think FNAF would fit into DBD? Yes. Do I think we should wait a little more? Yes. We need to see how this new game goes which I believe is estimated for this Summer. A bloody, clanking mascot suit could fit in DBD who is a meticulous and aggressive killer... yes please. Springtrap would need to be redesigned a bit but Scott Cawthon wouldn't mind. The creator of FNaF is pretty lenient on licenses as well. And my own personal opinion, I do think Springtrap would be bloody terrifying in DBD.

At least with FNaF, I can actually imagine something like this in the game and feel scared and unsettled by it:

    springtrap1.png

My final opinion, is that I can tell you are young and passionate in other fanbases. However, most things you may suggest won't be well taken so don't take it personally kid. You don't have to reply to every single comment saying something negative.

  • @FireHazard

Sadly the concept shown is severely outdated. I'm suggesting FNaF now rather than in the past due to the much mature tone and increase of quality the games have. Thanks for the feedback though, means a ton!

  • Also, please give feedback on this overall! Please be nice about it as well!

Tell me which ones were your favorite and least favorite, and ways we can tweak them. Or give new ideas overall. However, I really want feedback on what's on the kits right now.

  • The Freak model is by my friend ZMarrowface and I. Perk and ability suggestions taken by friends and anybody who suggests in general.

Everything else is the compilation of stock photos, and I did all of the editing.

Here's my Reddit post of the concept: https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/fh5a3w/freak_of_nature_survivor_killer_concepts/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

  • @BadgerT40 Would it be a passive ability within the terror radius? Would there be a way to enhance the depression (never thought i'd say that sentence)?

  • bumping this because im petty

  • i guess i'll bump this now because i actually really want this to happen

  • My friend and I love the game and came up with characters and possible concepts in the middle of AP Language (help us), so they may not be fully polished. As a result, tell us what is good, and what needs to be changed (i.e. which character you liked/disliked, which perks were liked/disliked, etc.) Thank you!

  • He could honestly work and the hate is dying down when he actually has potential now.

  • THE ATTRACTION (2).png

I know this is floating around, but he really has to look like this to fit in DBD. Scott would easily give them license and even a modified model/let them modify or make one.

  • Yeah, if they really redesign his face and make more gore showing which Scott has already done before, it's set.

  • I agree with that as well, but I'm talking about in general if his theme is set up like that, I'd buy that DLC in a heartbeat.

  • By far, this is the best concept I've found and it would totally fit.

People suggesting the actual animatronics, who either are just malfunctioning or have the souls of victims or whatever, clearly don't understand DBD. However, one character as seen with that roaring reddit post DOES fit.

A sentient, human corpse of a psychotic murder who went on a rampage of killing children just for the fun of it who would find it hilarious of someone trying to run away from him. This isn't some animatronic, it's a full-on murderous, insane person with actual motives inside of a deathtrap. He even says things like this in a sinister tone:

    • "Let's see how many times I can take you apart and put you back together again!"

Here's the initial reddit post, and people seem to love the idea of this: https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/ek0i0k/finalized_springtrap_the_attraction_concept_kit/

Overall, it would totally work out if it was executed well like this. The people complaining about the idea when it's out would be the minority-- THIS is how you execute it.
