  • Lol yeah that was probably a bit dramatic, but I dunno, I've played this game for about two years now and I just hate seeing people as a community ganging up on others.

  • Pretty disappointed that we're an 18+ community but still act like toddlers. Five Nights at Freddy's is generally filled with late teens and young adults now, and even by the off-chance that there's a younger fan, I can't believe a ######### 8-year-old can act more mature with what they want and don't want. The posts get really annoying but I find it equally annoying seeing this ######### talk in the comments.

You guys are no better than who you claim you hate.

...For the actual ability, I actually dislike the ideas of controlling multiple entities and the springlocks. He's a very personal murderer and the springlock stuff is overdone and too similar to The Pig. The other animatronic characters to "control" would not aesthetically fit into the game.

I think people underlook two aspects of his character. One is a man so terrified of his own mortality that he kills children as an easy way to test the bounds of death, possibly relating his ability to collecting the supernatural form of agony that is present which allows him to persist longer.

Another that people heavily underlook is how he (most likely) caused the arson in Five Nights at Freddy's 3, and I think starting fires could be a pretty interesting take on a delayed AoE ability that if executed correctly could make survivor interaction actually fun and not the 100th put objects and front of you and crouch from the killer during a chase!

(Also I completely understand people not wanting Springtrap for any reason you want and I fully respect you as well if you treat people with respect! Same goes for those who want him but are dicks about any other license.)

  • People are saying ISA as in Candyman's daughter but this does not align with the datamined content heavily hinting that this will be a paragraph killer.

At the absolute basics without assuming so much, we can concretely say there is an S and an A. I'm not including the I in what is fully concrete as that was not found on the main DBD twitter account but rather the Russian one, making me feel there is a possibility it was supposed to be shown later or specifically as a red herring. For that reason and playing it safe, I'm just keeping it as S and A.

Assuming it is a name being spelt out, the A would rule out Pennywise and the S would rule out Candyman. Other licenses such as Chucky or Alien would be ruled out for missing both or one of those letters.

With the assumption that it is a name, there is really only one licensed horror name that is highly requested that would fit:

    Springtrap

With the other letters hinted as as I (circus teaser) and possibly RT (from one of their latest tweets), both of those fit as well.

    Springtrap

With only the concrete letters though of S and A, it could be pandering out to spell "SAY IT" which is a main catchphrase in Candyman. Especially if you want to include the I, this can be plausible. However if you take the additional RT and assume it is not a red herring and an actual clue, this rules that out in favor of Springtrap.

I think that with time we will have to wait and see. If we end up seeing a letter such as Y I think it will most likely be Candyman hence it matching the phrase. For the mean time though, I deadass think it might be Springtrap. A bit of a stretch but could faintly be a hint, Springtrap's name was revealed before FNaF3 released by hiding random letters on a social media post.

If he comes in, I think people have a misconception that he will look like those ######### SFM renders with awful animation and horrendous texture work. I think he'd definitely look something more like this which would aesthetically be amazing in my opinion:

    st_og.jpg

I know people bring up the Scott Cawthon drama (for the love of hell please don't even corrupt this thread with that #########), but he's handing FNaF over to another company and entirely retiring, the movie is most likely finished filming by now, their biggest game is about to drop later this year, and Scott could have easily changed his mind about crossovers.

Who knows what could be happening behind the scenes?

  • The survivor perk was designed for a character who has had many medical trials in their life which ultimately granted them a better appreciation of life and a rooted sense of resilience and survival.

Survivor Perk: The Trials We Face

    You've been through worse.

If you are Injured, The Trials We Face will activate. Staying Injured for 60/50/40 seconds will grant you a token, with each one granting you a stackable 4% haste status effect permanently. In order to gain another token, you must enter the Healthy state and then re-enter the Injured state to repeat the process.

    • If you leave the Injured state, you will not receive a token and the duration will be reset for when you enter the Injured state again.

  • This is honestly an embarrassment of a chapter. Somehow they made it buggier than the PTB. The Twins have such a cool power and I can't even stand playing 3 games with them because I either lose my power or get frozen in the floor for the rest of the match.

I think we did a pretty good job so far.

  • My favorite play was on Azarov's Resting Place. There was no three gen, in fact, no generators were even finished. As Deathslinger, I kept doing risky shots and hit a ton of them from what seemed really close to the max range. Along with this while chasing them, I was aiming at them through the small barricades covering the generators. They weren't taking me seriously but I knew damn well you can make those shots and I did each time.

I don't slug, but this game it just happened. We were all on the side of the map where the Office was (that small shed with two windows and two lockers and sometimes a basement) and one by one after downing them I turned around and saw another one, boom, down again. It was like a frenzy of reeling them to their death with no off button. I just kept aggressively slinging and miraculously hit all my shots. No tracking perks needed, they weren't a team trying to be in my face, but they weren't immersed at all.

I maybe thought they were all just inexperienced but two of them were Rank 1s, one Rank 2, and one Rank 4 and I realized that I should yeehaw more often.

  • We've seen Blight's POV issue and he's fairly tall. For me not only is the actual size a problem, but a huge problem people don't really talk about is the POV. Survivors won't be able to see him over practically every loop, if his POV is that low as well, he won't even be able to see survivors over tall grass, etc. Imagine corn maps especially. I mean I can't really see anything for his power other than possessing dolls around the map for map manipulation I guess, not too sure.

  • All of these are great picks and I'd say Springtrap and Nemesis are my top picks.

I'd have to pick Springtrap because I feel like he'd bring some really unique killer variation in appearance, has a lot of potential for power designs, and would look amazing optimized into Unreal Engine 4 (I mean, imagine how much of a worn mascot he could really look like if he had bloodied fur particles). I just also feel like as a killer he branches out a bit more on terms of malice because he was obsessed with luring and murdering children before he finally got what he deserved.

I also think it lines up with the current status of Five Nights at Freddy's. They're getting a next-generation console release for the Playstation 5 and it's sort of insane how much it has improved from the lackluster indie games, and I believe this can generally be said with the franchise. I think like all franchises there are bad, but from what I've seen, a lot of people are older and it's generally teenagers and young adults with the exception of a few kids. But that demographic even applies to Stranger Things as well -- a show/media that a wide age demographic can enjoy, with the Demogorgon's addition appeasing the older crowd.

I mean, there was an entire wave at one point for his addition into this game which ultimately led to him getting on a lot of people's lists, including mine. I'd only want him if he can be done right, but I really think he can. I think he would bring a lot of variation and has a lot of potential to be executed in a terrifying way. I could see his presence similar to Oni, I mean, the character is an eight foot mechanical mascot with a bloodied corpse inside.

I just feel like he wouldn't be too out of place, or if anything, would at least somewhat fit. I wouldn't accept any other characters from Five Nights at Freddy's in the game and probably uninstall if that happened. However, I think Springtrap would fit well and be great for profit as Five Nights at Freddy's became extremely relevant again.

  • Not only is this literally using the same exact template for an actual good FNaF x DBD chapter made months ago, but I honestly just don't understand this one.

I want Springtrap in Dead by Daylight specifically because I believe he would relatively fit and has the potential to actually have an aspect of realism in his design. Whether this is a serious suggestion into the game or not, this is just using a personal favorite character that works in that franchise alone as a character to suggest.

I feel bad for people who also want a FNaF x DBD concept with legitimate reasons why and with good effort put into it. I know you didn't mean anything bad by this, but this is kind of cringe.

  • @JackFrostMan

Yeah, his addition would be cool and I'd be on board, but it has been beaten to death. Hey, still neat as you said.

  • @hahadrillgobrrr

I figured it wasn't directed towards me, but due to some of the people who want this as well, sometimes I'm stuffed into the same group because I like the idea. I feel bad because there are legitimate reasons I'd be fine with Springtrap's addition, but then there are certain dudes just tarnishing everything.

  • @hahadrillgobrrr

They aren't my alts, and the spam of it is so damn annoying (coming from someone who'd be fine). Your opinion is totally valid as well and I also hate how people would bombard you for something so subjective.

  • I'd be totally down for him I just hate all these threads about it.

  • Though hackers do exist, it's not like they're on the rise or there's a lot of them to the extent that you're implying.

A lot of killers know maps well, including hiding spots, totem spawns, loops, etc. and a lot of perks even help with location and aura reading (i.e. B&C). Other survivors can lead the killer straight to you as well.

  • I'm sort of for him being added, but I don't really get why people think that this will become Fortnite hell if Springtrap is added. The character itself could work in my opinion and would add a lot more killer variety into the roster. I think @Dehitay brought up a really good point of people mindlessly being close minded and absolutely hating on the idea without giving specific reasons why.

I'm all for if you want him or don't want him in, just be a mature person and be mindful of others and give actual reasons why, additionally, let's not spam the forums with this.

For my actual reasoning of why I would even be fine if some of the fanbase come to here, is because I don't think it's all bad. The newer games coming out are being made in collaboration with game studios and are actually quite frightening, and their new game so far seems very promising. Although some of the fanbase has early tweens, I know a larger amount that are late teenagers and even young adults. With some leaks, it even appears one of the new killer introduced in the FNaF game has a kitchen knife (I don't believe it is an animatronic, rather a sadistic killer in a mascot suit), and I really doubt that it won't have mature themes or blood.

Should he be added now? Probably not, or even maybe. Should he be added in the future (preferably after the new game comes out)? Sure. I think FNaF is currently in the process of rebranding itself to an older teen audience/adult audience and I think we should give it time.

  • off topic please, again i want springtrap in dbd, but what the hell is up with these posts

  • You don't have to like the concept or the idea of the crossover, but this person wasn't being annoying with it or being malicious on purpose.

  • @NorbiZ said:

After a bad day I needed a good laugh, thank you.

    Anyways, no.

I know the Springtrap x DBD posts are excessive, but this one is an actual concept that someone put time and effort into, not a cloned thread of "what do you guys think of Springtrap x DBD?" or "how do you feel about it being talked about a lot?"

Tbh that's a bit ruthless and just plain rude, this person made a concept, and you don't even have to like the character or the concept but that was really just sort of pathetic my dude. Have some respect for some people, this person means no harm. No matter how bad the franchise or concept itself is, this person didn't intentionally try to be malicious so you have no reason to be malicious back.

    treat people with decency.

  • It really sucks, because as someone who is taking this suggestion and trying to execute it very well, it doesn't help when people constantly shove it down everyone's throats. It's actually just horrific to be honest, and I can completely see why people don't want his addition due to this. To everyone making constant threads about his addition, please. just. stop.

Again, as someone who literally would be fine with the character being in DBD, just stop all these threads it's driving me nuts. Like holy sh*t, do you really think helping your cause means to constantly talk about this one specific concept? Bring it up when the topic is actually viable, such as "what licensed killer would you like to see?"

  • @MongolPSR

Thanks for being one of my prime examples of people who drive me to the brink of insanity.

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly

It also f*cking sucks because some people who might give good reasons for his addition might be flooded away by the amount of people who are mindlessly giving reasons to add him and using alts to do so.

  • Man, I'd be fine with Springtrap being added into DBD, but I don't get why there are so many of these threads. It's a popular subject so I responded to a decent amount of them, but there's so many of these and it's sort of odd. I'm all for if you want or don't want him, but please just give actual content to show and talk about while doing so and make this less of an endless cycle of:

    They should add Springtrap.

    No, that's cringe.

People should really only be talking about this now whenever they might want to share a concept or objectively give a sort of essay on why or why not they should be added. I'm sick of seeing these threads of the same exact things. I think BHVR gets the memo that some people want FNaF and some people don't, can we stop with these threads?

  • @Thatbrownmonster

I know, right? I'd be fine with Springtrap in DBD but some of these concepts are ridiculous.

  • I swear, I'd honestly be fine with his addition and think he would add variety, but some of these concepts I see really make me cringe. (Also, I don't really think there's a lot of furries attached to it? If so, bleach time.)

  • @shinymon

I honestly don't think so, at least not from my end. This topic has gotten a ton of recognition lately outside of these forums, and I've seen a lot of threads about it. However, it would be funny af it that was the case lmao

  • I think I know what you're talking about, I know this isn't it, but this is nightmare fuel.

Untitled Image Untitled Image Untitled Image

I don't like the old games, really not at all. But this new stuff is really a good face for the franchise, this thing is honestly just SO haunting.

  • Some aspects are indeed cringy to it, but not the current state of it. I think the younger obsession is a minority now to be honest.

  • I'd explain it more like this, at least from what I know (apologies for any errors):

    • One of the co-owners of the establishment used a recognizable mascot suit to lure gullible children into a backroom, where he eventually killed all of them by a supposed, gruesome murder. The suits doubled as mascots and animatronic entertainers, so essentially, the animatronic parts could be pushed back into the suit for a person to slip inside and wear it for a short duration. He hid the bodies in spare suits and sometimes even inside of the current animatronic entertainers to please his sick mind. Riddled with anxiety and fear of being caught, years later he went back to dismantle the animatronics and suits to hide any evidence. There, he either hallucinated or actually encountered the hauntings of the children he killed, and in a quick attempt to instigate fear in them once more in an attempt to have them leave him alone, he put on the same suit that had double functions. With the moisture of the soon-to-be demolished (and abandoned) building, the suit malfunctioned and an entire endoskeleton frame of an animatronic was forcibly shoved into his body. He sat there as he bled to death, or maybe even as some of his organs were pushed out, it's like one huge SAW trap. By supernatural chance, he survived within the suit. He simultaneously lives in constant pain and in constant planning, a meticulous killer with a deranged mind.

I personally think similar to Stranger Things, FNaF is still aimed towards teenagers and up. Some people think it's aimed towards kids, but even if that's 100% the case, this backstory of f*cked up and I would love to see this utterly evil character added into the game. I think the game was flooded with some kids with the release 6 years ago, but now, I believe the young fanbase is a minority (again, similar to Stranger Things).

After researching more about FNaF, this video popped up, and if executed similarly, Springtrap x DBD would be amazing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cjetm9c3wB8

I talked about how the recent games are better now, and though I said that, looking back at some of the newer characters really nails that idea in for me:

    image.png

This really haunts me to be honest. I think Springtrap should be added for sure, but I just don't see how people say that FNaF isn't scary anymore when these new characters are introduced in UE4.

  • Darkness Among Us because he was advertised as a more disguise or stealth like killer and then we got an abomination of a power..

  • @HarleyQuinn

It's literally a somewhat mummified, bloodied corpse that's reanimated to life. It's the rotting corpse of a child serial killer.

  • A slight redesign would make him actually pretty f*cking disturbing to face off against. I don't really get why people say he isn't scary when he's sure as hell scarier than Ghost Face's, Huntress', etc. design.

    stylisticspringtrap.png

You can't look at this and say it's not f*cking disturbing to look at. If you say it's not, that's fine, but if you're saying it's not scary for anyone, you're just being stubborn because your favorite killer isn't being added to the game.

I wouldn't be dying to see him added or disappointed at all, similar to what @xCarrie. I wouldn't mind his addition at all, but it wouldn't be something I'd ignore. I'd probably get him based on appearance alone, unless if his power is actual garbage.

The current games seem to be going in the right direction because they're in collaboration with other studios (Help Wanted was a blast and I'm not that much of a FNaF fan) and their new game, from what I've researched, looks promising. I never really liked the original games, but the environment is unsettling af.

  • no jumpscare please please no jumpscares, i want Springtrap but please ######### no

  • Springtrap is an actual, conscious child serial killer and his design fits. Freddy Fazbear would look goofy as hell in DBD.

  • stylisticspringtrap.png

I dunno man, this seems pretty f*cked up and just disturbing to even look at.

  • Thing is, those will be really difficult to obtain over FNaF. If the time comes to add another licensed character and they can't get those characters, I'd be 100% down for Springtrap (and I heard the license is incredibly easy to obtain). To be honest, certain ones high up in popularity I wouldn't really want over Springtrap. Springtrap just has this own really cool variety of creepiness that would add well to the killer roster.

  • tbh Springtrap would fit more than the Demogorgon imo, they even have the same target demographic in the present day (teenagers and up). i'd like Springtrap over the Demogorgon to be completely honest, a rotting mascot suit which colors already sort of fit the color palettes of the game, as well as possible organs moving and beating passively in his design? sign me up.

i'm really only familiar with FNaF and don't really like the early games that much (but their latest release of Help Wanted VR was fantastic), but Springtrap would totally fit as long as other animatronics and survivors aren't included. a paragraph killer of Springtrap would be cool to add to the game.

  • My top comment on the petition is well received, so I'll repeat it here (not word for word):

I'm all for Springtrap being added, but besides him, a map is the only other thing that would be fine to incorporate.

Including the other animatronics that are too goofy for the game, or survivors with no concrete designs, is just stupid and to be honest I really dislike this dude for popularizing that. If it was just Springtrap, or Springtrap and a map included, I'd be 100% on board. I'm not too into the FNaF games and don't like them that much (except for Help Wanted), but the character could totally fit, coming someone who loves DBD and has a ton of hours in the game.

Some people are arguing that he wouldn't be scary, but I honestly think a rotting mascot suit with beating organs would fit better (even just color wise) than the Demogorgon. I just don't really see why people are making this argument when Demogorgon is in, and Demogorgon isn't even part of a horror franchise.

  • @Dabihwow

Two of them that are both trending and popular:

Add Springtrap into Dead by Daylight
Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy's 3 in Dead by Daylight

The first one is actually mine because I made some chase music that got relatively popular. I made it because the second one wants things that I personally think is stupid (i.e. cosmetics of other animatronics, human survivors for characters without concrete designs in the series, etc.)

  • @Huff

I get the child connection idea, but you exaggerated it to an obscure degree in my opinion. The problem with your Spongebob analogy is that Spongebob never had a terrifying design or genre to begin with, and even though Slenderman and Jeff the Killer might have been popular, the iconicness is not the same. FNaF still has a very large following six years later, and the designs themselves are more intricate. However, I do 100% get your point. I wouldn't make this suggestion a few years ago, and I didn't really make this argument that much in the post, but I do think that FNaF's fanbase and franchise as a whole has matured by a large amount. A few years ago I would automatically associate FNaF with young children, but now, I associate it with late teenagers and up.

The reason I don't want BHVR to do their original mascot killer, to be completely honest, is that it would feel underwhelming. Not the powers and such, but their appearance and design alone. Spirit was probably one of the only nerve wracking designs, but other than that, no original killers really give as much of a horrifying presence as licensed characters do (and Spirit, in my opinion, is not at the same level of scariness as licensed killers).

However, your point about you not wanting it added unless if it's done very well, I completely agree with. I would only accept this if they really do a great job with it.

Regardless, I wanted to thank you for your reasoning and input. I'm not really a fan of FNaF and was just answering this question, and whenever this topic is brought up, people just immediately say "no" or "cringe" without any reasoning and it completely removes some effort people put into their own opinions and ideas. Thank you for the great input my dude!

  • I think Springtrap wouldn't hurt.

  • @NightmareReborn

That totally makes sense, I'm just saying that them being added as a core gameplay aspect would be stupid, not the subtle inclusion of them.

  • I don't think he's a bad person overall, his major flaw is ego.

On his bad rounds, he typically blames multiple different things on the survivor side when in reality he chases a single survivor too long with a low tier killer. He thinks that since he's amazing at the game, that he can try to make an incredibly low rank killer popular because he has this mindset that 'with enough skill, you can make any killer viable.' He only really uses his good matches as examples as well sometimes.

He's not really a bad person overall and doesn't deserve a ton of hate, but I can totally understand why some people dislike him and not believe his claims. It honestly feels like he's a robot for BHVR sometimes to be completely honest, as if he's really trying to make it sound like the game isn't flawed because he's in that Fog program (in my opinion at least).

Overall, he's an okay person and I can understand why people dislike him. Hate isn't deserved, but his claims are outright insane sometimes.

  • I'm all for Springtrap in DBD, but the addition of the other animatronics is just goofy.

  • I'd be fine if it was sort of subtly added or included in a lore, but I don't want them to be inclusive just for the sake of inclusion. I just don't want them to have a character with their only character trait being they're apart of LGBTQ+, that's not adding a character, that's just being inclusive to be inclusive.

Furthermore, as much as BHVR wants to try to make this have a story, the lore aspects really aren't that important. People like the designs of the characters but they're honestly treated more like avatars you like other than "I personally relate to this character, therefore I will play them."

So yeah, there's nothing wrong with it being added, but I honestly think it doesn't really matter in a game like this because it's not actually character driven. Additionally, I'm afraid BHVR might just do it so people will like them more and not for the reason of creating an interesting character.

TLDR: Lore isn't really that important to people as much as BHVR wants it to in my opinion. An LGBTQ+ survivor in the lore wouldn't be a problem or anything, but if I'm being honest, it's not really representation because lore matters so little.

  • Dying Light is really underrated on Plague. Pretty bad perk overall imo, but amazing on Plague since the Obsession won't really be healing other survivors since Plague's power.

  • that's actually lowkey kinda creepy af

  • The Deathslinger looks cool, but his design itself fails on creating fear. The chase music compensates a little for this, but in reality, he just looks like a cowboy with white eyes.

I think Springtrap would actually fit into DBD since that topic is rising lately, but yeah, I think he would be terrifying if BHVR execute him well.

I know people say the entitlement goes to both survivor and killer, but I personally believe that there's more survivor entitlement than killer entitlement, and I mainly play survivor.

  • 1) It's too late into Pride month for the skins to really be made and put out and last.

    2) It could also cause more discrimination and encourage toxic behavior by targeting people who are within the LGBTQ+ community.

    3) It could be executed in a way that I call being inclusive for the sake of being inclusive. By this, I mean that they add it for the sake of making themselves look good. They don't try to make it more subtle and actually caring, but just putting it out there to seem like they're a better company that you can trust.

  • They give 1000 Boldness bloodpoints, I think it's good.

  • I just hooked a Zarina and a Bunny Feng who was injured came and unhooked her right after I just hooked the Zarina. I got them both with Punishment of the Damned. Post game chat was the Bunny Feng screaming at me for tunneling for a 4K after that single scenario, told them I should've known better as a Rank 4 killer.

It's ridiculous, you can't get away with that with Pyramidhead. You could take a hit for the survivor you unhooked for almost every other killer, but Pyramidhead can completely negate it. It's not tunneling, it's using the mistake you did to affect your entire team, fairly applying pressure for not being patient about the unhook.
