Candyman would make the most sense since it's coming out in September and so is the new candyman movie.
Also I doubt we'd ever get a FNAF chapter just because the only good candidate for the survivor would be Michael Afton, and we don't really know anything about his appearance other than he's a white guy with brown hair.
I always envisioned a FNAF chapter coming with a killer and map. Kinda like how Ghost Face and Ash are considered chapters. I do agree that its probably Candy Man, hes got so much going for him.

I don't love how this request is worded- while I broadly agree that more diversity would be better, I actually think this is something that the devs are aware of and working on, so it's not the best accusation to make right now.
That said: I also really dislike the 'proportion of the population' argument people are making to handwave this topic. Dbd is a. international game, not only in its player base, but also its setting. The idea that either BHVR or the entity should aim to have the game represent ethnic representation within in America/Canada is at best really really boring and at worst... Well y'know.
Final point: licenced survivors really scew the proportions of representation- quentin, nancy, Steve, Laurie, Ash and bill are bump up the Caucasian population of the game. Of these quentin is meh, but the rest all have some degree of brand recognition which justify their inclusion.
Tl:dr- to OP- they're visibly working on it.
To anyone using the phrase 'representative of the population', stop making me cringe and switch your brain on for a change.
I feel like the population percentage argument isn't for being accurate to something but rather it being a comparison to other things. DBD is about as diverse as other places of the world so unless those places are also problematic this isn't a problem. Do I think the percentage argument has to apply to DBD? No. If they want to make it more diverse than something like Canada thats fine by me.

Butchers Cleaver seems too similar to demo gorgons shred. And meat hook just seems really boring. I like the concept and think the perks are cool, Hooky friends seems very situational and actually kind of counter intuitive since the progression bar is paused. Excluded and Tenderized sound like fun though.

Reverse hexs, i like it. And the trail to track would be nice, cause i always manage to be walking behind the killer somehow😅
So totem perks like the Plagues generator blocker? And maybe like a 5% buff to speed or meter awareness of survivors for each one injured? Or even a terror radius reduction of 5%?
Yeah, kinda like what you mentioned. Though a speed increase might be a bit to much. I think a reduced terror radius or louder noises could be cool.

Yeah, I hope that they wojld make good perks for the killer and survivor that were viable.
Someone in another thread suggested increased cleansing for totems and being able to track the killer (maybe it could be like scratch marks for the killer, or like OoO but without the killer seeing them)
Hopefully some good perks for the killer too. I dont play killer much, but I really want a good windigo build if we ever got one.
That'd be cool, perhaps they could have their own hex perk that killers have to find and destroy. I like the idea of the killer leaving trails a survivor could track. As for killer I think a perk for extra totems that block stuff and gaining a buff for how many survivors are injured would be fitting.
-
They somehow managed to make a killer with little to no counterplay and still made them suck. I don't know how to feel about these devs.

Lmao, i shouldve been clearer on what i meant. Sorry.
Yeah. I feel like perks would present a bigger issue than lore tbh. Theres a lot of places to pull lore from, but perks would be harder especially given that windigios rely on sound more. Though we could get something like echo location, they scream land might get a general area of survivors within a certain amount of space.😅
No worries, I've screwed up on wording more times than I can count. As for perks I actually don't think its that big a problem. If they were able to make Billy and Bubba have unique perks, they could give the wendigo some justice. My only hope is that more than one perk is viable, that seems to be an unfortunate trend with most killers.

No, I think he meant a survivor, too. But like, have a chapter with a Wendigo killer and native American survivor.
I'm stupid lol. I thought we were talking about the licence as well, I'd be fine with a native american survivor, my big worry is perks and backstory.
-

I think Until Dawn just made the OP think of the Wendigo. And Wendigos show up a lot in Native American folklore. I think it's, like, Inuit folklore, specifically, but I could be mistaken.
Thats true, I thought they were talking about a survivor. If we were to get a native american killer I'd like to see a DBD take on the skin walker.

@LSerpentine said:

Not the characters themselves, but the Windigo, if im not mistaken, was from the Native Americans Folklore. Just thought it be nice to expand on the idea, really.
Ohhhhh, thanks for the clarification. I'd be down for wendigo if done right.
-
What characters in until dawn were native american? I haven't played the game in a while but I don't remember any native american characters.
-
I feel like this isn't as big a problem as you think. Around 60% of the characters are white, which is pretty representative of the population of places like the US. I feel like so long as the character is cool lore wise and has decent perks, they're good. I wouldn't mind some more POC characters though, so long as we're not just trying to check boxes, cause thats scummy.

it's not just new line being greedy, the rights are really messy, some of it's owned by new line and some is owned by Wes Craven's family, so BOTH parties have to agree.
Thats true, Cravens estate can't be making this any better.

Yeeeah I’m probably getting my hopes up for nothing, thinking that Freddy will come to Switch with crossplay & we’ll have an OG Freddy legendary skin and new Quentin face 😩
I would probably main Freddy if he had an Englund skin and was on Switch. I think Quentin just needs a rework in general, from his face to his perks.
-
I haven't seen anything official, but given how greedy new line was and the fact Freddys not allowed on half the games platforms I don't think we'll be seeing anything that requires a licence from them anytime soon. I wish it would happen though.
-
Why is this worth talking about? Typos happen all the time.
-
The feeling of escaping a killer by the skin of your teeth or just barely having them miss you while hiding, its euphoric.
-
Of course your name is cornhub...

Ghostface is technically considered a Chapter because his power and add ons, unlike Leatherface, wasn't made using the same coding as another killer. His power is similar to Michael and Pig, but uses its own coding. Leatherface, who is listed as a Paragraph, used an edited version of Hillbilly's power and shared all of Billy's add ons before the two of them got reworked.
Thats a pretty specific and obscure way of doing things, either way thank you for educating me.

Yeah, same concept as Scream: breakdown the Slasher tropes. I honestly have a love/hate relationship, bordering on the dislike, with how Scream handled it, despite my love of Craven's works. I much preferred the way Behind the Mask did it.
Dang, I loved Scream. I'm excited to watch BtM now.
-
I haven’t gotten around to Ash vs Evil Dead yet, its still sitting in my backlog. But I’d love to see a map based around the house in the og and remake or a medieval map from army of darkness. I think a deadite that possesses stuff could be a cool killer.
-
@IceCreamPrincess said:
So alot of text there, but you are not wrong. As a chapter its lacking in content. However, its not a chapter. Behaviour themselves released it and rather to it as a "paragraph", which there are only 3 paragraphs in the game, as opposed to the 16 or so chapters.
The paragraphs are Bill, who is a licensed character much like Ash, who was released without a map or killer, and then the Cannibal, who is another licensed character and was added without a map or survivor. Ash is the same, released with no map or killer.
Does that excuse the typos and errors? Nah but they aint the end of the world. And as for cosmetics, its the same issue every licensed character has, they gotta hey the license holder to agree to any cosmetics they add, which is a ######### to do.
Ash is still groovy tho, and i still try to make mettle of man work
Isn’t Ghost Face a paragraph as well?

I think that's because during the golden age of slashers it all became an imitation game between one franchise and the next, so they all stuck with the sexually active teenagers and the Final Girl/Guy.
Freddy at least diverged from that, as did the Jamie Lloyd Halloweens. But too many kept repeating the same trope to the point that we finally got the take on it used in Behind the Mask: The Rise of Lesie Vernon. Which is an absolutely great film, by the way.
Yeah, the tropes got old pretty fast. Luckily those aren’t as big of problems today. I’ll check out Behind the Mask, seems kinda like a different take on the Scream idea.

Oh, I remember it now. Admittedly, it's been over a year since I last saw Halloween 2018. I plan to watch it again after I do my Jamie Lloyd timeline watch-through again.
Sadly, I've viewed so many horror films throughout my life (I am 47, and started at 5 years old), and write horror as part of my living, that the kid getting killed didn't even register with me.
(Note: That's for film or a novel. In real life, it would screw me up badly.)
I’m only used to it being a central plot point or flashback (A Quiet Place and IT are good examples). Stuff like F13 6 and Chucky conditioned me that kids were basically invincible in slashers lol. Stephen King is a crafty one. Still trying to get ahold of the Dark Tower series.

Yes, I believe they are.

You have confused "no skill" with "basic tactics."
Deathslinger: You have to be a crack shot and know all the little gaps you can shoot through.
Spirit: is only easy if you are playing Soundsiper Spirit with busted add-ons. Otherwise it's a competition between you and your opponent as to who can headscrew the other the best. Just because many people don't even try doesnt mean that spirit is easy: trapper is easy when they give up, they simply give up less.
Pyramid Head: Once again, you have to be an good shot, only now you also need perfect timing. On top of that, he has an insanely high skill ceiling outside of looping, though most people don't care given his antiloop potential.
Demogorgon: I don't know where you are coming from with this one. He's got one of the highest skill floors in DBD.
None of these killers are "low skill". (Well, except Stridor Spirit, but that's is completely different to normal spirit). ACTUAL low skill killers are ones like Myers and Freddy: you learn the basics in a few trials and that's all there really is. Sure, you could master them, but their skill floor is so low that you don't need to. They are just so accessable.
A few more to consider? Bubba, Stabby Ghostface and Stabby Wraith. Again, no mechanical skill and no real tactical knowledge.
I agree with this overall but stabby Ghostface does require a fair bit of prediction and mindgaming.
-
@PigMainClaudette said:
Well, there are two different TYPES of skill: mechanical and mental. Mechanical is literally aiming and general movement, where mental is all the mind-games, spacial awareness and how you act on the information you have. Two completely different skill-sets.
Deathslinger has a limited range and requires precision with a projectile-but-not-really weapon. It is a pain to use on console. Other than that mechanically, no. He isn't a mechanics heavy killer. You end chases super quickly and that's your thing.
Spirit is 95% mental. Phasing throws off so many people because it just removes all information. The skill comes from mind-games, and knowing WHEN to phase, not how.
Demogorgon could be in the same boat as Hillbilly if we want to go there about Shred. There is also the element of setting up with it's portals and how they can be used for tracking.
Executioner has a fair bit of set-up and his Judgement of the Damned is more easy to see comkng and bait. There is also a lengthy animation after using JotD and it takes a chunk of his Rites energy. Using Rites in general is something I categorise as mental skill, with using to to shut off some loops or have a bit of tracking.
Hopefully that clears up some things for you.
You explained that better than I could ever have hoped to.

Hopefully it’s true. Is it true that cross-play releases tomorrow? They even tweeted it.
I honestly have no idea when it’s coming. It could be tomorrow or December for all I know.
-
I think somewhere they said an optimization patch was in the works, don’t quote me on that though.
-
This is a little bold but the inconsistency of the game just doesn’t work for a competitive setting.
-
I like her, backstory is pretty cool. Nothings gonna beat the god that is Ace though.
-
Keep slugging and patrolling. Can’t heal forever. Alternatively if you believe your in a good enough situation you could just let the gen go and try to secure a couple kills. For PH you could cage or judgment if they’re tormented.
-
I’ve seen that happen to my uncle, literally the exact same situation.
-
I’d be down for something like The Thing. The Carpenter list would be complete then

Am I forgetting a kill? I know it wasn't the black kid being babysat because he ran out of the house and left the sitter's arriving boyfriend to die. Are we talking about Oscar? Because like Allyson he was in high school, which has always been within Michael's target zone since the original Halloween where they were all also in high school. Even his very first kill, Judith, was only a teenager.
At the beginning when Michael escapes the bus a young boy and his dad go to see if everyones all right. After the kid accidentally shoots Michaels doctor he runs to hide in the car. Then Michael straight up ices the kid, They even gave him the raspy voice puberty kids get. I expected him to knock the kid out or something, that put me on edge for the rest of the movie.

I am a huge fan of the John Carpenter Halloween from 1978. I was five years old when it came out, and have always been a Myers fan. My forum icon isn't because I main him in DbD (killer queues are absolute ######### in this game, so I don't bother anymore).
And I loved the 2018 film. It was finally the sequel the original deserved.
I’m glad you liked it more than I did. It was a little slow for me, which is strange cause I normally love slowburns. I did really enjoy how the camera lingered on some shots, almost like something else was there. I just enjoyed the new one more, the characters all felt realistic and likable. Michael felt like a threat whenever he was on screen. I’m glad its getting a sequel, hope it doesn’t turn out to be another resurrection.
-
Would they pop out of the chest fully formed? That’d be a little wierd don’t you think?

The Love for the Original Halloween results from a contemporary perspective. It was the first real Slasher (yes, there are movies that heavily paved the way for this but still). For it´s time it was phenomenal and it held up as a great movie for the longest time.
I´ve seen every Halloween movie time and again, and I must say the 2018 sequel/reboot is definately up there with the original imo.
Thats fair, I personally always saw TCM as the first real slasher but I see where your coming from. I just think the new one was way more tense. After he killed the kid I honestly started second guessing everything, the new one ignored the tropes, the original created them. I see the respect for it but people have called me mentally disabled for thinking the new one was better. I’m glad the comments here seem to be more supportive though. Thank you for being so understanding.

It's a trilogy. Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills (2020, now delayed to 2021), Halloween Ends (2021, now delayed to 2022).
The original actors for Lindsey (the girl she was baby sitting with Tommy) and Leigh Brackett (the original Sheriff whose daughter, Annie, was killed), from the 1978 film are back in Halloween Kills as their original characters, and the team has already stated that the citizens of Haddonfield start hunting down Myers en masse and it has the highest body count of any Halloween.
Teaser Trailer released last month.

That's not really an offensive statement. A lot of people enjoyed Halloween (2018) ...my favorite about it was JC coming back to do more music. The song that plays when he kills the fat kid and sees Allyson for the first time gives me chills every time. I can't wait for the next one to be honest, shame it had to get delayed.
Yeah, I was honestly so shocked when Michael straight up murdered the kid, music was phenomenal. Most people think the OG is an untouchable masterpiece, and while I think it was good I really don’t see the hype. Most horror fans get real upset when I say I liked 2018 more.
-
I would be so down. What I’m about to say is probably gonna offend someone but I liked the new one more than the original. I didn’t even know they were making another movie lol.
-
I like him as he is, a killer with counter play that can still get use out of his power and has a decent skill curve. I feel like his addons could be changed though, mostly his Iri’s.

That would be sick, I’ve always been a sucker for the plague doctor aesthetic. Though my number one will always be 106, he scared me the most growing up.
