Depending on if we think they're actually new, we will give a free "hook state" aka not immediately kill them off when at our very little mercy. They'll still probably die at the end, but we'll give them atleast a chance to learn or earn blood points.

What do you mean they can only be kicked 8 times buddy?
And it ain't my fault if my random teammates do every gen in sight and force a 3 gen 🤣
Each generator can only have 8 "regression events" before they can't be regressed anymore. Meaning each gen can at best be kicked 8 times.

It used to, but some recent update removed it.

i'm so sorry but can't go through every point. i'll have to assume this quick little response explains a good chunk of my concerns though: they still can bodyblock with their stuff currently but they aren't protected by a 5 seconds stun and can be punished more easily for going into deep wounds for no reason (like wasting their otr just to bodyblock, giving the endurance hit for free).
Correct. They are currently protected by a 3 second stun. While every second does count, 5 seconds isn't that much larger than 3. They can be punished a smidge more easily currently and a smidge less at 5. Its not back to the point of the previous DS+Ubreakable combo level of stupid.

them hopping locker is what prevents me from slugging them. the entire point of the post is "only the so much time" bodyblocking with FREE, basekit bt buys while killer can't do much about it.
Yet the question we asked was "outa curiosity, if they body block you whats forcing you to pick them up?"
Gonna be honest here, we're unsure as to what the complaining is about so we're going to do this piece by piece.
"them hopping locker is what prevents me from slugging them." Then grab them and eat DS if they have it. They wont have it later then. Survivors can already do this currently. Did we miss something here cause neither the comment we first asked nor the responses we're getting is changing much?
"the entire point of the post is "only the so much time" bodyblocking with FREE, basekit bt buys while killer can't do much about it." Yes survivors can buy a little bit of time. Is this realy that much of a problem? Your not fine with it, thats fair, we're ok with it, thats fair. Survivors can also do this simply by equipping OTR as you've pointed "sources that prevent them from going down like basekit bt and otr".
From what we see of the original post, you just don't want DS to work with body blocking. Thats fair, but we ultimately don't care as we only asked the question above which we'll restate: "outa curiosity, if they body block you whats forcing you to pick them up?" If they down the body block, they can slug, if they go into a locker you can eat the DS now or leave them to try something else (mindgame the punk in the locker, go harass the others, yada yada), hell you can simply swat the bodyblock and still go to the unhooker.

sources that prevent them from going down like basekit bt and otr. you either eat it up and move on or commit to them instead since the other option is another healthy survivor and eat ds. you can slug them but slug pressure isn't as big as a second hook state (since you already had to commit to a chase) if there is no opportunity to snowball, putting killer in an almost lose lose situation. not to mention they can just hop locker after tanking the hit even denying the slug pressure unless you want to wait at the locker for 20s.
So what we heard was "Nothing is forcing you to pick up a survivor".
Pressure is pressure. Your free to eat it up while chasing the unhooker as it only buys so much time (with an adition of the unhooked will have to mend). If your insisting on chasing the unhooked after watching them eat a hit, you should probably be aware that DS has always been a thing (and is probably going to see a increase) and thats your conscious choice so if they hop in a locker then you got the choice to (most likely) eat DS now so they wont have it later or leave em be (it does still deactivate when the survivor does anything and in endgame). We used to just swat the bodyblockers who made it obvious and keep after the unhooker.

I've just thought of a potential solution to your concern which is that Game Afoot could possibly have a new restriction coded onto it to not apply to survivors who have the Exposed status effect much like how it was updated in the past so that special attacks will not work with the Exposed status effect. Just like my idea I posted for my solution to FTP + BU (in case you didn't see that yet), I find adding restrictions to perks to prevent overly-unbalanced perk combinations is always a better solution than to just nerf perks(unless if the perk itself is the core issue such as like old MFT or current Background Player).
Also, agreed, the only real way of seeing if these changes would be good or not is by putting them in a PTB to see if the general changes are good and if anything needs to be tweaked. As for the cool down, like I said, if the cool down for my idea to Thwack! is too short then it can be bumped up to 100/80/60 seconds because, typically, if a perk has more than a 60 second cool down players will start to complain about it and refuse to use it hence why Dragon's Grip, Oppression, and Trail Of Torment have such low usage rates due to their 80 second cool down timers.
If the devs would do that then a lot of complaints would be down already...
Regardless of that, not entirely sure it would fix the first down thing because of how the game technically works. Until some is hit they're technically not suffering from the exposed status. Or it's hidden. We're not sure, hence the maybe maybe not.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3683319#Comment_3683319
With your concern about the idea involving the Game Afoot change, that combo kinda already exists in AFK builds so it wouldn't exactly be anything new or different there.
For your concern with Thwack!, I was discussing with a streamer (who not only plays DBD, but is also working on their own game making them suitable for these kinds of topics) yesterday after showing them this post I created and they had the same concern so I mentioned to them that if the cool down time were to prove to be too fast then it could be bumped up to 100/80/60 seconds if need be and they agreed on that cool down time being more suitable than the current one.
Also it's nice to see that you prefer my favorite idea for a change to Leverage. :)
The problem would mostly stem from it more than likely becoming more common. The AFK currently would have to put in work to get more than one person as swapping obsessions requires getting stunned, blinded, hooking the current obsession, or hitting the survivor with the most chase time. This change as soon as that last gen pops, the first person hit gets killed, whether it was the current obsession or not. Theres no warning till their dead unless its a swf with the obsession saying "hey they got rancor".
Again, we're just iffy on what the CD should be. We'd need to see in a live test but its still a good idea overall.
@Crowman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3683319#Comment_3683319
Game afoot was already changed so the exposed doesn't apply til after the obsession swap. So unless the survivor is already injured, it's not a surprise rancor and the survivor team could constantly body block to get everyone out.
Plus I believe game afoot only works with m1 hits so it won't help nurse.
Azulra covered our reasoning. Plus we don't care bout nurse, we care about the majority of the roster.
-
Game Afoot: While we like the idea, it would probably be a problem with Rancor and Noed. Hit down mori, hit down mori, etc.
Thwack: Iffy on the CD times but overall the change would make it much better.
Leverage: If we had to pick one it would be choice 1.

I get what youre saying but he gets the lunge WITHOUT the basic attack cooldown/slowdown penalty you would normally get
We get that, but its not like he's lunging across the map or having something lethal chase every survivor or multiple near guaranteed safe spaces. Its also not crashing anything (as far as we know), its not making the game unplayable, its not giving a huge advantage (it being comboed with mad grit not withstanding. Thats a hefty advantage, but not super stupid and more on the survivors for not getting away), and survivors can still wiggle off if oni tries to abuse it correct?

Its really the same formula for survivors when new killers come out for the most part. If a killer has a ranged attack that can injure you, the only thing we can do is the same thing we do for every other ranged attack. We can run left or right out in the open or put a wall between us and the killer. This new killer's power has a splash effect which means we now have less ways to deal with it. We don't need more tutorials. We need balance. They keep deviating so far from the original killer designs and now its almost safe to assume the next killer will also have some kind of ranged ability.
You can still run left or right as the splash isn't that large. It needs to hit you twice like artist and only the splash hurts as direct hits only slow you. In addition you can remove weakened by looking at it and it graciously continues dropping a bit each time you look, which you should be doing with any ranged killer, meaning it needs to shoot quickly or weakness goes away and it needs to weaken you again.
Deviation keeps the game alive. Having the exact counterplay to each killer would be dull.

Oni's lunge bug gives him a real and reliable advantage. Knight's guard bug did not. Having all 3 guards out at once sounds good on paper but not once you understand what you had to do to get it.
Idk bout you but being chased by possibly 4 killers at once seems like a really good a good advantage. Meanwhile oni gets his normal lunge while carrying someone. It's an advantage to be sure but it's definitely not overwhelming nor breaking the game.

Just the fact he can lunge after you while carrying and be just as fast as he is without carrying idk dude
As ArkInk said above, its not worth the switch. Knight could have all 3 guards out at once while the flashlights gave survivors effective invincibility to 90% of the killer roster.
-
Probably psychological, but long as it lights happy we say enjoy it.
-
....so in what way does this break the game? As in one side can do absolutely nothing about it and creates a unwinnable situation or causes actual problems that crashes the game?
-
As killer, if we see someone doing their glyph we'll let them finish it before resuming the chase. Not sure if this counts but we'll also go out of our way to avenge a survivor who was sandbagged by a teammate.
As survivor, if the killer is struggling we'll occasionally let them murder us for points. We also won't jump in a locker against a Meyers trying for their achievement if we're last.
-
If we're reading this correctly, you saw her place a bird normally (not through the walls, direct line of sight). Survivors could always see that.

I mean that should be the bare minimum shouldn't it? It is basically just for convenience sake, you could as well just write in pre game chat "hey guys I'm running those four perks, what are your perks", however as barriers in language and platform oftentimes make communication harder it would be fairly easy to just see those perks in the match, perhaps even in the lobby, with the option to disable them there in case dodging increases.
Additionally it does not give swf anything they don't already have and improves the solo experience. So it just brings those two groups of players more in line.
We've simply made an observation (admittedly in an exasperated tone) of how it went from showing in the hud to knowing everything they wish.
If you want our opinion on the matter, no, it's not. We're perfectly ok with it being shown in the match (definitely not the lobby though) and your correct in that simply showing perks is a easy and effective way to go, but we don't think consistently giving info is a necessity. This is again, our own opinion.
-

How? They simply bring up certain perks that are inconvenient in solo yet so strong in SWF. Very solid if you ask me.
They're explaining how it would be beneficial to them without thinking about the bigger picture in quick gambits case. Should quick gambit show affected gen aura, the other survivors get a pretty decent view of where the killer is chasing. In resilience case, just their teammates being survivors.
Then goes on to "Gen effciency. SWF have it because their teammates know what perks are in play." Swfs have gen efficiency because they tend to coordinate with each other, not mainly because they know what perks each of them is running. Does it help? Yes, wouldnt argue that. Does it make them efficient? Maybe once or twice in a blue moon.
The most convincing ones are for Wicked and Deliverance which is commonly said buffs for deliverance already.

- No to the silent breaking. Maybe reduce the aura reading.

- Willing to test, iffy on 10 seconds regardless
- FK this perk. No. Nope. Hate object. Regardless of personal hate, would still disagree.
- Disagree.
- Tentative ok.
- Ok
- Disagree
- Disagree
- Disagree with reducing it to 40 and the hindered effect to 25. Flat no to traps never disappearing. Ok with being able to place it on any pallet.
- Disagree
- Keep the skill check requirements but ok with the rest.
- ... disagree but wouldn't mind testing how this goes
- This one we're a little cautious to mess with as removing exhaustion at the press of the button is strong. Currently in our eyes this is only weak due to the strict restrictions. We're going to hold our tongue on this.
- Disagree
- Ok.
- ... would love to see this XD balance be damned. To be fair, For the people is strong, but has a ton of risk on its own. The other perks reduce those risks to near nil when combined.
- Ok
- Ok with removing the cd or increasing range. Not both. But again these are personal opinions.
- Ok? Don't see it affecting much.
- Ok
- Don't increase the range but ok with the rest
- Disagree
- We're ok with one or the other, not both.
- Maybe test? We think it's fine as is.
- Personally think it's fine as is but this one is ok to (aside from time) but kinda makes it a variation of poised no?
- No
- Not touching that one, but personally disagree, atleast if your goal is veriety.
- No haste and numbers toned down but otherwise ok
- Ok with seeing auras, not the second part about having it stopped gives haste anyway.
- Disagree
- Ok with the extra skill checks (not the percentage though) and no to straight up immunity to hemorrhage.

What are you on about?
FOUR Survivors can, right now, in the game of Dead By Daylight, choose to team up together and all equip Distortion.
By your logic, the killer's perk Lethal Pursuer is wasted and they have a bad start.
If that's the case then WHY does it matter if 4 survivors equip Distortion BEFORE a change is made to it or AFTER, if doing so meant the killer has a bad start?
"You no longer spawn near other survivors at the start of the trial." Your words.
"(if everyone runs either or, then everyone rigs it so the game starts with everyone away from each other and can work on 4 separate gens with little to no risk of three genuine themselves)". Our response to this specific part. This situation is what we are talking about.
Currently if everyone runs distortion, it's a perk slot apiece and the killer will know that everyone is running it. If your second change goes (Applies to other survivors within 16 meters for the first 30 seconds of the trial.) it's much harsher because 1 person can cover for the whole team if they spawn together (which is fairly common for us atleast) and deprives the killer of the aforementioned info because they wouldn't be able to tell if 1 person brought it or 4.
-
...we don't see how they were balanced around lightburn. Aside from wraith who was burned relatively often, we've only seen maybe 3 nurses lightburned and never had our crows burned off as artist. It was a neat trick, but it didn't really affect anyone other than wraith.

They're asking for a fair test of skill - large aoe globes that can be fired off every few seconds and go through walls nullifies any of that.
Is there no skill in dodging a shot? Is there no skill in baiting a shot? Is there no skill in being able to swivel the camera so the weaknesses bar goes down while you're looping the killer?
Plus only the explosion goes through walls, idk why you'd stay near the wall if you know this.

The venom attack is a problem because Survivors don't move with any sort of dynamism (Survivors are slow, can't jump, can't go prone, they're stunned when they fall from two foot heights, etc.), they don't have the benefit of using their environment for protection against the UVX (it hits through walls), and they have no means to attack the Unknown. You're going up against an opponent with a grenade launcher in any other game you need one or more of those things for a fair fight. Every other game gets it but DBD. I even think the power is kinda clunky and slow, but so are Survivors in DBD.
As far as learning the ins and outs, the game has brought in a lot of players -- new and returning -- with this update. As Survivor, what are their first impressions of grenade launchers and 10 hatchet Huntresses? I haven't played the game since the anniversary. These powers and buffs are questionable. The counterplay against the Unknown is a lot harder than learning to use its power.
As far as the macro, you can do gens against Huntress but you don't have a chance in the 1v1 against 10 hatchets or 7 hatchets with double wind-up. She has immense snowball potential. Infectious Fright used to be a feared perk. What about two or three Survivors caught out of position against a Huntress with 10 hatchets?
And I brought up new gen and mnk for a reason. Part of the supposed difficulty of Huntress is coming from old gen console players (Deathslinger is my most played Killer and I'm on PS4). She is not hard on new gen or PC, period. Solo survivor against The Unknown, the Killer is S Tier.
Your asking for a fair fight in an asymmetrical game?

Okay...
Then that logic also applies to your statement when you say "if everyone runs the perks then the killer has a bad start."
...your going to need to explain that one to us.
If your talking about how since not everyone wanting to run those perks would seemingly invalidate that argument you'd be incorrect as since even if survivors don't want to run it, they can coordinate and rig it and that would not be due to simple luck.

There'd need to be a consistent threat to keep survivors on their toes so to speak, like an AI controlled killer. The perks would work normally for the bot, while the actual "killer" would be the power and add ons would affect the various traps and such.
Gens would probably be a must, but side objects are easily enough thought over (ex this gen is locked till X happens).
