I like hiding inside a building showing half of my face to them so they know I'm there and I look pervy... that's all I do until they get some gens done... I watch.
Whats fun as Ghostface is to injure them then chase...and just as you're about to down them, step off to the side and stealth. They usually freak wondering where the killer went. I then stay near their general area. Once they feel it's safe to heal, I use nurses calling to track them then finish them off with a jumpscare attack from around a corner.
Doesn't work anymore at higher MMR since generators just fly, so no time to play spooky, but it's fun to do nonetheless.
-
I tend to be a friendly killer, so I usually do a healthy mix of 3K and hatch or 4K if the team was bullying or cheating. Every so often I'll let the final two survivors have a heal party and escape, but not too often as I don't want a big MMR drop. It's nice to give survivors a break, but due to MMR, can't do it very often...so I usually just let the last hatch if I am feeling kind.

Emm no I think lt can be reported both ways not just the killers you are actively using your body (character) to block a certain area or thing, this is body blocking.
Endurance effects do stack, straight up example, borrowed time and the now passive one, yes borrowed time is as it says, but these stack extending the time.
Also I'm not saying that I "don't look very well" but the fact that by the time I have got someone or found evidence of someone, it is already to late and a gen is done.
Killer main here. Survivors blocking you from hooking is intended counterplay. That's why if you hit them, they lose collision for awhile to allow you to hook, though when it's multiple survivors, not much you can do but get in a few free hits on the survivors, but that's them losing repair time and health states as a risk vs reward to keep someone from being hooked. Definitely NOT reportable.
If you dont want to deal with bodyblockers when carrying someone, grab Trickster's Starstruck perk.
-
Typically I always allow unhooks, but I may be in the minority of killer playstyle. Even if I hook someone and a survivor is nearby, I usually walk away from the hook.
However, if it's a sweaty swf or a bully squad, I have absolutely no mercy.

True. There are so many killers that need their add-ons as base.
GF is incredibly weak. The matchbook seriously needs to be basekit. Takes way too long to restealth with how it easy it is to be revealed with them buffing survivor reveal power awhile back.

That's such a sweaty thing to do. Cheating (on both sides) really needs to be cracked down on by devs
Agreed. They seriously need to work on their anti cheat system.
-
I've seen this uncommonly. Just a cheat that's running around. Heck, I had a bully squad about a week ago that had it an unlimited amount of times. Everything you'd hit them they would proc endurance and the animation never played. Even multiple times in a row in a chase.

If you complain about killer as of today, you’re probably not that good.
Killer is in a good spot right now (except for some killers like nurse).
It's killer dependent. Ghostface and Pig are still pretty terrible at higher MMR.
-
Ghostface has it the worst. Almost every map has generators positioned in a way where you can see him coming miles away. I honestly wish as a killer, you could lock in a single map blocker unrelated to offerings.
-
Terrible idea, imho. The grind was not fun nor interesting. I wouldn't want to do it, again. One of the reasons I continue to play is because I fought the good fight and now have a fun collection to choose from as a reward. Losing out on that is a hard pass for me.
-
Ghostface because he's fun to play thematically and very different from standard killers. You can spook people, jumpscare, and generally have stealthyboi shenanigans.
Problem is that he's so unviable at high MMR if you focus on stealth, so I've had to start retiring him. Gens just fly too fast, and he has to take so much extra time to stealth around, and 90% of the time you get revealed through a wall anyway.

That’s what I’m saying. 😂 there is no way it’s bugged. If he didn’t get as much as he does now, he would be a basic m1 killer.
BHVR literally said it's bugged, and they implemented a bug fix in the PTB.

The obsession playing aggressively, especially bodyblocking. The new MoM is going to make this even more effective.
A smart obsession can make STBFL half as effective, if not less. But it requires you to spot it fast.
Just thought of a funny counter for The Ghost Face. Run STBFL, but also Play With Your Food. If the obsession keeps face-tanking you, you can keep building speed stacks off of them. Just register it as a chase then pop into stealth which instantly breaks chases and gives you a stack. If they keep following, just keep cashing in PWYF stacks. ^_^

The generators do feel really long and when killers run perks like Call of Brine and Overcharge, seeing my 70% gen go back to 10% after a few seconds is really demoralizing. Other than that my worse experiences had to do with teammates throwing or killers tunneling (although running OtR helped on the latter)
It takes 2 and a half minutes of not a single survivor merely sneezing on the generator. Regression perks are incredibly weak. Just tap the gen and it stops regressing. The burst generator perks is where you get into trouble. If your gen is almost done and it goes to 10%, that's a failure of the survivors.
Also bear in mind, until last patch, there was a regression bug with overcharge and call of brine, so you can't factor a bugged generator regression in on gameplay balance. They fixed the bug last patch.

I really like Pain Resonance + Agitation + Surge + Floods of Rage on instadown killers.
Penti + Overcharge + Call of Brine + Plaything is great on mobile killers.
Devour + Undying + Penti + Ruin is great on Stealth killers, or any killer with the ability to defend totems.
STBFL is really, really strong on any M1 killer right now, but savvy groups will know how to hard counter it.
The hard counter is?

that's good. Didn't catch that in the notes.
Aye, I'm glad. I liked the combo but was refusing to use it while it was broken.

@Reinami said:
It's hard to confirm for sure without direct testing. But the tooltip implies that i works at 75% regression. Regression is .25 charges per second. so 75% regression would be .1875 charges per second steadily increasing.
The thing will call of brine is that it is bugged right now, so it like stacks more, and also if you SUCCEED the skill check for overcharge, then call of brine just permanently regresses the gen (even while you are working on it)
That bug was fixed last patch.

One thing to be careful with those is that that doesn't mean the guy who wiggled out was hacking, it just means someone on the team was. I've had hackers cause me to wiggle off in two seconds when I wasn't even pressing any keys. Hackers that can 100% kobe typically apply it to the whole team with a stacked Up the Ante too.
But on the topic, yeah, it's silly that BHVR doesn't have any internal checking to make sure players can't warp across the map, Ghostface can't have hunting hatchets, and gens can't be completed/survivors can't be 4ked within 20 seconds of starting the game. Autobanning would be a bad idea for the aforementioned applying cheats to other players, but they could at least flag the match for investigation and allow everyone to DC.
Fair point on hackers forcing cheats on others, but this was one who would do boiled over and just hide on the 2nd floor, so hard to believe it wasn't them. :p
Also, you are correct. BHVR can absolutely put in logic checks for anti-cheat. At the very least, if all gens are completed within the first minute of the game, since it's difficult to tell who was cheating, just cancel the match without DC penalty. Technically, a cheater would just be causing matches to cancel all day long of they want, but everyone only has to deal with it once and they move on to real games, while the cheater is literally just wasting time and accomplishing nothing...no MMR increases, no BP, etc...
-
had a streamer (not sure if was streaming) that was wiggling out in 6 seconds after freshly being picked up. Yay for the "subtle" ones.

The Unbreakaboon foils that strategy though. They just boon the totem in the office nearby and they'll endlessly pick themselves up in library.
They were doing just that, but I kept just downing them when they'd get up. There's only two ways out of the room. Over time, they'd just keep losing health in the downed state. Then again, they didn't bother trying to crawl out of the room - they were hardcoded in the brain that they must stay in that room if they are downed. XD

@Wampirita said:
RPD update will kill the library, just be patient
Correct, they are blocking off the stairs, entirely.
I actually had the SAME kind of build go up against me when I was playing Ghost Face. I 4K'ed their team. The trick is to let them stay on the ground when they run up there, as their auto-kill timer steadily increases. They'll end up panicking and making mistakes because the killer isn't picking them up - usually swarming in to try to revive them...but then you just down even more.
-
Well, first thing is first, Fog Whispers shouldn't be immune to the rules forced on the rest of the community. They are allowed to DC all they want. Fix that first.

Yeah, that was the case before ... is it still the case that after prestiging all characters to 1 , that I can get the tier 2 and 3 perks in all the bloodwebs reletively easy without spending serveral millions on a single character to get the other tier stages in their webs?
Aye. I have a few T1 perks. I usually grab T2 and T3 within the next 4 bloodwebs. Plus you'll never lose their tiers from prestiging moving forward. It's all gewd.
-
Frankly, if you get a perk to tier 1, you're golden. It usually only takes a few bloodweb levels before tier 2 and 3 show up, in my experience. What sucked was trying to find the tier 1 in the bloodweb that you wanted before the update. Getting 2 and 3 after that is easy.

@Mandy said:
There are various ways to play survivor, some survivors enjoy the hide n seek aspect whilst some enjoy the chase aspect - neither of those are wrong.
If you're having trouble finding survivors, there's an absolute myriad of perks that can assist you with this...that's the whole point of perks assisting with gameplay styles, it can assist you in the areas that you are weaker in. I also suggest playing both sides, so you'll have more understanding/knowledge of how/why survivors hide especially those that understand the field of vision of the killer.
Speaking of stealth, stealth killers are having a rough time at higher MMR. Can yall at least make spinechill not detect undetectable?
-
Agreed, or at least let us melt down 3 of them to get a random offering that's not a map offering.

One of the nice things about Ghost Face now is the mark lasts 60 seconds so even if you mark at long range there’s a decent chance you’ll have an opportunity to hit them before it ends. (It’s kind of like having Haunted Grounds triggering periodically throughout the match.) 99% marks are still handy too but simply full marking is more viable now than it used to be.
True, but he also has zero chase power, so marking from a distance is pretty much guaranteed to have the survivor get away. At the very least it discourages them from doing gens while exposed.
-
Naw, I agree. It's far less fun for me now because while I only ran one gen perk before, now I feel I HAVE to run multiple gen perks to counter gen rushing builds.
Frankly, they need to make gen regression baseline, no way to modify regression or repair speeds based on perks. This leaves perks open for more fun and engaging perks as opposed to just gen related speeds. They would need generators to auto regress though if not being repaired after some time.

His new purple add-on that blocks and regresses gens by 20% when someone is Marked while doing them is pretty nice. 🙂
True but it's rare enough that it's an occasional treat. You also blow an exposed for the gen hit unkess you hapoened to be right on them. The commons are super useful and consistently help.
-
Ghostface best addons are both commons. :(

@AvocadoPablo said:
The killers started it. You'll notice you didn't see survivors spamming Prove Thyself UNTIL killers started spamming slow downs + benefitted from 10 seconds to each generator, recovery from hits quicker, etc.
Survivors were told to adapt. So we did. Deal with it.
Im a killer main and this is entirely accurate. I only ever played one gen perk. Since the patch, I feel forced to do 2 gen perks now due to how many survivors are atacking gen speeds. It sucks because both sides feel compelled to bring uninteresting and not fun perks to the table. I wish regression was Baseline across the board and no way to regress or repair more. That would leave 4 perk slots for more fun combos.
I'd just have gens automatically slowly regress. No kicks needed. However, there's no way to make that regression faster, and there's no way to repair faster except for toolboxes and doubling up on gens. This would leave more perk options for both sides and make gen balance far easier to manage.
-
It's one of the easiest things to counter. Just touch the gen. That's it. You have entirely nullified the regression. Just have to be careful for 60 seconds since he's kicked it when doing normal skill checks since they get notified.
-
I've been playing less because ghostface is my main, and higher MMR just isn't a thing with him unless you're running a chase build. Kind of defeats his whole stalking theme. Better off playing another killer...but I just legit enjoy playing ghostface for his theme. Fun to give survivors some jumpscares at the cost of killer efficiency without sacrificing the match in the process.
-
.......it's been 2000 shards for, I mean, since I've started playing with is awhile ago. The only 1500 I know of was during a special event with discounted pricing.

Yeaaaaaa. MAYBE a random one here or there....But i think if you polled the REAL popular streamers who have been playing for years and years now, and have 5k(being generous) hours...Most can't even stomach DBD off stream to go through that much hastle to derank off stream.
Watching a lot of the big streamers, the survivors they are getting I'd expect to be someone who is fairly new to DBD. A lot of them just running into walls, lost and generally confused. One of the most common lines I hear from the streamers are, "What were you doing??" Yeah, the survivor quality they are getting are low tier in experience. That's due to dropped MMR.

Otz has a suspiciously high rate of being matched up with SoloQ's, don't let his experience fool you. I imagine it has something to do with the time of day you're playing.
One suggestion worth making, find a blight better than you and have him spank you in KYF. Nothing like seeing how a blight manages the ######### survivors throw at you from the other viewpoint.
The popular streamers typically dump their MMR off stream to get easier matchups for streams, so a lot of solo queue players in the streams isn't unexpected.
-
Before you beat yourself up over how streamers are performing, one thing you have to keep in mind is that almost all of them dump their MMR offstream in order to get easier matches to destroy on while streaming.
That being said, higher MMR is a big problem for killers who don't have any chase power such as ghostface. One thing you can do is be a bit nice on those killers, and by that I mean once you've established a win, let the last survivor go. It'll at least slow the rampant MMR boost you get when always 4K'ing. The MMR doesn't handle a lot of 4Ks in a row too well.
Alternatively, stick to killers with chase powers for higher MMR. No chase powers at high MMR is a nightmare.
-
Isn't the only difference between the old version and the new version is you get the option to upgrade one you already had instead of cashing in for bp (and now you are guaranteed to have tier 1)? It was 2k and randomly appearing in your bloodweb originally where you'd have to level it up through multiple bloodwebs. The new system is still 2k but you are guaranteed tier 1 and have to randomly find it in the blood web. The only differences are if you have the currency to spare, you can upgrade the tiers for all characters, as well as being guarantees to have the lowest tier you own.
In general, it's all upgraded over the original. We aren't losing anything with the change except for bp purchases...but frankly that's a waste of shards anyway.

thats why you spread pressure and use slowdown perks. and 1 hook at 2 gens complete (and using your logic all other gens are at 0% cuz they slamming all together on a single gen) usually leads to a 2k in my experience (a fair result). Once you start getting hooks 1 survivor will be off getting a save and you chase the other, leaving 1 survivor to go gens instead of 3-4. From there you can start tunneling
Not a fan that it's mandatory to run multiple regression perks. Considering survivors are all stacking gen speed builds, you're setting yourself up for failure by not blowing half your build on non engaging and fun perks. Now that as a killer you have to run regression perks, you're setting yourself for failure as a survivor for not having gen speed buffs. Vicious cycle...
-
It's only a problem for specific killers. Shouldn't neef a whole perk because nurses use it. If it's a problem, then they should look into the killers it's a problem with.
-
He was changed a long time ago that if you are exposed through his mark, you cannot reveal him. Essentially, he is no longer punished for using his mark ability. Was a needed change. He's still a very weak killer at higher MMR. If you're having issues with GF, just use the new spinechill. It makes it literally impossible for him to ever sneak up on you unless you're ignoring the perk. You get a guaranteed 36 meter safety bubble. He seriously needs a rework.
-
I typically never tunnel, but some survivors just beg and beg for attention and want to be tunneled then get upset when you oblige.
Here we see a self-identifying bullysquad who are swarming the hook and have a Pikachu surprised face when they get hooked again.

Absolutely yes.
Signed, a killer who never tunnels anyway.

It's not about being easy to counter. The counter is bad design. The survivor has to get off the gen for a mysterious amount of time, let the gen regress, and then get back on the gen all because the killer might have DMS. What's the point of tuning a perk to a specific percentage value if the counterplay around the perk and its synergy means adding value to the base percentage? That's asinine.
"Just stop working on the gen for a random amount of time between 2 seconds and 16 seconds". Just don't work on the gen for 9%. Ez counter. I'll Jolt my own gen so DMS doesn't proc
You may be missing a vital piece of information. If someone is downed, look at their aura. Once the killer picks them up, just look in that direction. You will see the survivor aura light up a couple of seconds before they get hooked. You just hop off the gen. Once they are hooked, you hop back on. It is extremely easy to counter. You'd only fail if you're not paying attention, but that's on you.
