  • in casual gameplay tunneling is really common honestly still

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Obviously diehard Killer Mains will defend the Perk. This just shows that the Perk is overtuned. That people call it weak is just a joke.

I usually bring Items I find to the corners of the Map, but the more it is used, the more the gameplay revolves away from the main Objective. And doing a "side objective" of basically delivering Items into a Corner where they dont provide Aura Read all the time is also neither healthy nor fun.

This is usually a sign something is broken because killer mains defend it relentlessly haha

It's not healthy for the game as a whole expecting people to go through 10 hoops and guess where fellow survivors drop items is just unreasonable.

  • Thank you for your suggestions, I agree the new player experience is often overlooked and its the part of this game I feel needs the most love.

  • So long as they add her heels like they did with Janes Noir outfit

  • I feel it also comes down to how badly these perks are designed too, more so than people picking them

  • Its giving a bit more breathing room as it should do, the gen times were to allow killers to have more time to pressure not to have more time to camp, this is a necessary balance from 6.1.0 that's been long overdue, if you say otherwise you've not played for long.

It doesn't support your point to celebrate people abusing a system for something its not intended for when you want it to get added to the game

I mean it makes the game more enjoyable for me, that's a plus in my books, it's not abuse if I have only so many slots and I use it on someone I don't like playing with its smart.

Same way said people "abuse" gameplay mechanics, your words not mine :)

  • Oppressive I find, but I mostly play on my own on survivor, trying to keep on top of stuff is really difficult. Their chase is countered by pre dropping etc but on smaller maps with little pallets its a useless strategy…

  • @Nazzzak said:

They need to have an actual block list, just make it limited so it's not abused. Have a max of like 5-10 people. Once it's full you need to start removing people if you want to add more. If someone finds themselves on so many block lists that it starts to affect their queue times then maybe that's a warranted consequence? I imagine it'd be mostly hackers finding themselves on block lists

Something like this would be perfect to bridge the gap until the mods deal with it or something

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

Given that the current philosophy of map design is a giant dead zone with a single pallet held up by two telephone poles, I'm curious what you think people should be looping?

You get more value running circles around the thicker trees lately, since actual "tiles" like jungle gyms appear to be a thing of the past.

This paired with the high amount of hyper mobility killers, like there is no logic behind it lmao.

Its not a be the change moment, it literally used to work that way and was abused to the point where some better high end players just wouldn't get to play the game because they were too good at nurse or xyz so people blocked them

Honestly playing people who are overpowered and tunneling etc isn't fun so I dont blame people, it's deserved.

I mean they generally get banned eventually if you report them properly (in-game + ticket). I've unfortunately had some run ins with some really nasty people, but I open a support ticket and then like a couple weeks later I get an in-game report notification that they got actioned.

Unfortunately people would use a block list to blacklist everyone who's better than them, or plays a killer they dislike etc. etc. It'd cook matchmaking as well since people who play sweaty/good will get blocked a lot, forcing them to get matched against less experienced players, and increasing queue times as a whole.

It sucks that it has to be this way, and I wish support was a bit faster (no shade to them, they do good work but they're swamped a lot of the time), but the feature that you suggest will more often than not be used to block people for reasons other than them being genuinely nasty towards others.

Like I'm sorry not everyone will use it that way, a system shouldn't be awful (beause the sh word is banned on a mature game forum ok…) because people don't like to play against certain people, it will make people happier. Maybe more people will be conditioned to PLAY the game and have FUN, and not try super hard with meta killers to win.

Let the community talk for once, it doesnt have to suck, its people who defend it and allow it who make it this way.

    Be the change

Then they get banned from the game as a whole, since those things are against the rules.

I don't think this is always the case, it happens really often and not much is really done about it, there was a lot of reaction give or take 6 months ago, not so much now I'm finding.

Like I agree, but I should have some agency over people I'm comfortable playing with.

They don't want you to be able to choose who you match against. Yes, even if they're better than you and yes, even if they take the game more seriously than you.

And what if they are communicating abuse and targetting people in their gameplay? That's okay then?

  • @Ayodam said:

it works in that whomever you block/ignore cannot contact you. If they’re on different platforms obviously that’s a completely useless feature as they can’t contact you anyway. But if you’re on the same platform it also doesn’t work because it cannot override your system’s settings (PS, Switch, Xbox only). So I guess it offers some sort of placebo to make you feel better.

Yeah I know which is why it's trash and they should think about retooling it so it's actually useful for not playing with people who take the game too seriously.

  • So long as Legion isn't playable, yes I'm very excited <3

Right. I don’t understand what’s controversial about your data. I’d love to see games from the people challenging it since they seem to be so adept at survivor. Maybe they’re escaping as often as they think you (ought) to be. But I know their evidence won’t ever come.

Got to agree with this, you're data is giving insight what the majority of playerbase is experiencing on the casual end honestly. Thank you for sharing your feedback I hope the team read through it <3

  • @ChuckingWong said:

Honestly the hook timer increase has had no changes in gameplay. Could take it back out and nothing will change.

I feel it helps casual gameplay where people are playing the game as intended, survivors have more time to make mistakes and anti camp has more time to kick in.

If anything it's showing how unhealthy other components of the game are when put in the hands of the people who know and manipulate the systems and more needs to be done to stop that. The new player experience especially needs more love

  • I will say with the prestige removal, matchmaking has been so much nicer for me on survivor side, as a killer I always queued into matches anyways coz I cba to do that… too much effort and time LOL

  • So he does have a sound tell for his fire, you'll here an ignite noise when he preps it, there is also a visual que where his hand ignites too. I do admit some obstacles like high rocks can just be hit over but they are quite precise and I've found myself as I've played as him how I can also dodge them on survivor side, it has really helped.

Wolf form is far from useless, it's very strong especially when built around so you are very wrong there imo, hug tech has also been found for it and it's tracking with the brown addon is so so good.

hellfire is thinner than pyramid head, he just has hellfire builds that make him able to use it more often, just bare in mind when you cause one to whiff throwing down the pallet so you can get some distance can be really helpful, which should force bat or wolf for you to further read and adjust gameplan there on.

I hope that helps, but how you feel is how you feel! <3

  • its mainly the screeching and flapping for me, its sooo loud LOL

  • it's the 4v1 that needs help for non mobile killers, albeit baseline regression or stalling or more mobility.

I don't think nerfing items is a healthy way to go, I think making the new killer experience better is more healthy in the long term.

I do think regression stacking should be nerfed if we do have baseline regression on hooks maybe a lesser built in pain res or the like but I do feel its the general 4v1 that needs help, give killers more breathing room to build more diversly.

  • gives it a unique use thats more enticing than say friends to the end imo too, I agree with this

  • Wolf form is really fun, it does its job and it has a lot of fun build synergy with it!

I'm personally enjoying rapid brutality + STBFL with monitor and the lunar necklace for 20m TR and the increased tracking range for information, and surge for regression

my only complaint for dracula right now is the bat form is too loud on the killer side.

  • So Midwich isn't smaller for one, it's Ormond and the like which have small variations which are the unwelcome additions IMO.

Recent changes like buffs to lesser used perks and the increase to the hook timer in response to the gen time increase are great!

my main complaint you I agree with is Ormond/Coldwind/Yamaoka's temple or whatever it's calleds smaller variations need removed, they are incredibly inconsistent with other map designs, and make playing against high mobility killers an utter nightmare.

**IMO we should instead look at making some global map traversal options like the dungeons portals so m1's have more options to get about, bridging the gap lesser mobile killers have in the 1v4 instead of constantly buffing the 1v1 like a bandaid that makes them miserable to play against. Nemesis is the recent offender for this, he needed help but not in the way that was chosen, you just made him a better tunneler (as a main of him), he needs a better way to 4v1, like tell his zombies to patrol a specific POI using the parasite or something, or the above traversal suggested would help a ton too… ALSO FIX HIS NO SOUND BUG FOR PREPPING HIS TENTACLE.**

But that's my personal rant on the situation.

The new player experience really needs help for both killer (low mobility) and survivor (which they have been doing gradually).

Another thing they could do for survivor is add the revealed noise from 2v8 into the base game so newer players can learn what perks do what, instead of needing distortion

  • The only "Buff" I want is for the bat noises to be quieter on killer side tbh

  • The shoulders are busted too

  • 2v8 has really brought to my attention how terrible 1v4 map reworks are, I've had so much more fun with the 2v8 versions when it comes to chase on both sides.

They really need to stop making "Bad" tiles.

  • Sony owns all rights to Lara? I didn't know that lol

  • I feel the main issue right now is lobby dodging due to prestige being visible or just being able to see the survivors honestly, either give this information to survivors as well or remove it from the killer.

Unless you can show with facts that the majority of the player base of DBD is either gay or any other type of sexuality than it makes sense to assume that most males on average are indeed straight based off of global knowledge.

Who said these people are all playing DBD? Are you outright saying the opinions of those in your proposed minority don't matter?

  • @MoNosEmpire said:

About 80% of the people in the world are heterosexual, on average there are more males on earth than females, knowing that it's safe to say most males prefer to hear a woman moaning/groaning/screaming over a male during their long playthrough. Female characters are generally smaller too so there's advantages. Then there's the cosmetic variety to think about. + All the things listed above.

assuming hetero CIS females aren't playing the game…

Yeah, this abundant promoting of the most popular characters is strengthening the imbalance between the pick rate of survivors. Honestly there's no justification for Nea getting a Deep Rift outfit two rifts in a row. As much as they look good. It could have been Jake. It would have been his first Deep Rift outfit (I'm pretty sure), and he would get some needed love finally.

And…. Meg gets a recolored outfit in almost every rift, it feels. Why not Claudette? Or Jake? I would love to see those.

It doesn't help also whenever a male gets a rift, its either licensed or incredibly ugly, everytime.

Nea sat with the most deep rift with Mikaela

Sorry dude but if you straight up sit there for 4 min while the guy bms you and watch him doing so then nobody can help you, tab out and do something else or so..

I do that but some people like console cannot is what I'm saying. it's not a good solution to just say deal with it, it's looking to put something in place when said situation is present.

I'm not saying report them, but I mean a mechanic

  • Is it useable on the stairs currently?

  • it would be nice if there was a faster way to end the match when its prolonged intentionally or unintentionally whe the survivor has a situation that would result in them being free if picked up. (finisher mori should fix this thankfully for the killers agency about it)

But it doesn't fix the survivor issue, a lot of killers do this intentionally while bming though atm, and the people in here who are dismissing that are just ignorant.

At least when I play killer and someone bms at the exit gate I can hit them out to get them out faster, on survivor you just "have to deal with it", and if you play with a friend they have to wait for you to die also and that's just not good design at all.

  • Melee hatchets around hook are an issue even without iri heads, she is probably one of the better campers because of that.

But this is just the issue with the design of hooks being flawed period atm.

Where exactly did I say I want to buff them? (For the record obviously they need to be reworked/buffed because they are utterly garbage, but I didn't say that… Did I? )

I didn't say you did, it's following your train of thought if we gave them help with your complaints about them, trying to find a solution which is healthy for the game IMO.

  • I do like this a lot, it tackles one of the main issues with tunneling making it less appealing even if by a little. Hook timers are a part of this game which is constantly overlooked.

Stacking dying light Thana and pentimento is way worse of a build than pentimento and pain rez and grim embrace... You could argue that with thanas stronger version there might have been issues, but dying light is absolutely terrible and not worth it at all.

But if you buff it you add to the problem currently, I feel these perks do need help but the issue with stacking should not be ignored. The point isn't its the most effective tactic available its when they get into play its miserable to play against.

Power creep will happen if we help these perks and more problems will be created from it without a cap in place, this would stop the gen speed issue going to far in one way or the other, solving a lot of issues the game currently has for both Killers and survivor.

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3727708#Comment_3727708

Dying light is one of the worst perks in the game... I take that perk over almost any other when I can decide what the poor killer has to run... Same goes for Thana unless you play Legion or Plague.

That doesn't mean they aren't problematic when stacked, it's why they got nerfed in the first place. Maybe if there was stacking prevention they'd be buffed again. See the bigger picture please.

  • I don't have an issue with Plaything itself, it's the synergy with pentimento, then pentimento paired with dying light and thana altogether leading to an incredibly boring match.

Plaything has never been a perk I've found a problem on its own.

But slowdown and speed up perks being stackable is huge issue atm anyways, they should look into introducing a slowdown cap like at Pentimento's level and no higher than that. same with speed up, maybe cap it at prove thyselfs or something without a toolbox

Surge isn't a trap for beginners. It's a staple in many m1 killer builds - even among veteran and tournament level players. M1 killers don't have the time to stop to kick gens - their chases are incredibly more important than many other killers. Surge was never problematic until the 8 gen change. Also, the devs specifically removed the CD on surge, as the no CD is supposed to punish survivors for being in a poor position. Now it's completely reversed and now punishes killers.

It is a trap, they aren't going to know when its better to go for a grab over a hit, it incurs the penatly more quickly, it's effective yes, but all the m1 killers complaining about the limit are using it, you even said so yourself.

It needs some changes to make it better to use.

    I give you some reasons:

    1. Female survivors are generally smaller and easier to hide.
    2. Female survivors are cute (mostly).
    3. Most male survivors are just not interesting or are neglected from the start (Gabriel, Adam, Jonah, Jake). Those who have the potential are not mainstream enough or suffer from poor sylisic choices (Jeff, Ace, Vittorio, Dwight).

Haddie was called ugly during the PTB, because she was not cute and thin or had big assets like Jane.

Then make smaller male survivors, maybe its the male rig which is the issue, maybe they should make cuter males.

The problem with behaviour is they don't even try in the first place. They just don't care, when half the males butts are down where their knees are. Some time and care or someone passionate enough to design better male cosmetics would just be nice.

AND CLEARLY they are capable coz Trickster exists, so what's the issue?!

  • Still awaiting for a survivor to get Trickster like cosmetics….

Oh wait I have to be a murderer and a villain to be a pretty/cute male that's how it works.

ALSO THE MALE RIG IS ABYSMAL, FIX IT.

doing gens is easy, and kinda boring, the chase is the heart of the game right? so why dont we make it so gens cant be worked on right away, and need a type of resource before repairing, could be gears, gasoline, power cords, etc.

some gens would just need 1-2 requirements and survivors need to scavenge the map for those parts, some could spawn in basement, or corners of the map, near lockers, and take the resource back to the gen, but since it would take time to look for and find the parts doing the actual gen would take maybe 20-30 seconds. (numbers can be adjusted) the parts would have multiple spawn points so killers cant protect the parts.

more items could be introduced to help out, or reworked. maps can show potential locations, keys could unlock a part behind a cage, etc. the goal is to make survivor feel like actual survival, while the killer is doing their thing. is this too drastic of a change?

or it could even be a game mode. thoughts?

Yeah I like this idea, could make gen items the same slot as killer items maybe/make a new slot for objective items

Never got a penalty for a crashing server. But my game is more or less really stable anyways compared to other people in the moment, so maybe it's just me.

sometimes the penalty is so short the first time you dc you won't even see it, its when the servers crash multiple times its an issue and it does happen occasionally

  • Her first rework was annoying that most sadakos just spammed the tv's, and forced no one to be able to play the game how it was intended, if that was addressed (maybe a longer cd with the new lock in mechanic on hook) she'd be more bareable.

But I hate playing against blockbuster simulator when all they used to do was refuse chase and spam tv for free pressure.

She is great design because she offers unique counterplay.

Because of her design chase perks don't work with her so whats left is tracking and slowdown, and since exposed and other effects that rely on m1 don't work on her anymore we're left with nothing more than those two options. I don't think Nuse is miserable to play against and most likely most people would rather play against a Nurse than against a skull merchant.

What I'm wondering is currently whether you don't like her because she does not work like all other killers or because she is not simple to beat… Because even though she synergizes well with aura reading (not really slowdown, because that is just good on every killer…) there is a very limited amount of perks that counter the breaking line of sight during chase.. Maybe floods of rage? I'm all ears? Because surely you're not telling me that BBQ or Lethal are an issue… As those only give you a general direction where to go, you won't be close enough withing the duration of the perk to actually get a hit out of it.

you lost me at great design.

    no lmfao
