Yeah, so, cool, but let me repeat what I said: How does spamming racist slurs in 2022 not get you immediately and permanently banned from whatever you're using slurs on?
I'm afraid I do not make the rules, I was just explaining how your assumption that "they have not been banned" is wrong, because temporary bans do not show up as mentioned already.
-
Report tickets do not required SteamID, profile link or nametag anymore.

This is interesting, because I had someone evade chat filters to say the n-word to me in post game chat, I followed every single step, yet the people who contacted me said that they were sorry that I encountered someone "potentially breaking" the rules and apparently did not ban this person. I can show you the report if you wish.
I was also told that I wouldn't be informed of any punishment, but I absolutely do NOT understand how spamming racist slurs in 2022 does not get you immediately and permanently banned from whatever you're using slurs on.
(And I KNOW this person wasn't banned from the game, they don't have a ban on their Steam account.)
Verbal abuse in chat usually leads to a temporary ban (unless it's death threats and similar) and that doesn't show up on their profile, only permanent bans show up as game bans.

You can dislike a character, however this is not the place to spread hatred, so please avoid this kind of threads, thank you.

Anonymous Mode hasn't changed anything in the reporting system, if anything, it made it easier: now the ticket does not require player's SteamID, profile link or nametag, as that information can be gathered by the team through the in-game report you make and the details you give in your ticket.
Regarding uploading the file, as HugTheHag already mentioned, the best thing to do is uploading on Youtube as unlisted and add the link to the description in the ticket.
-
Feedback is very important for the game and it's taken very seriously.
You just need to remember that the Forums are not the only place where people share feedback, so sometimes the opinions can differ largely between two different sources.
That said, and as others already mentioned, it definitely helped making changes to the game and I'm sure it will keep being extremely helpful.
@GentlemanFridge said:
The devs do read it, and I have seen Many say multiple times that the feedback she gathers on the forums is directly relayed to the dev teams. Or at least, the most relevant ones.
Whether they take “inspiration” from the suggestions is hard to say, since changes tend to take a while to make it through the pipeline, if they ever do.
Correct, part of Mandy's job is collecting Feedback and she is very active here and on the other platforms too.

Ok, I think this is enough.
As always, this kind of controversial topics turn into a mess very quickly and it doesn't help when OP decides to insult people who disagree with them.
Let's try to learn to be civil and respectful, especially when discussing something like representation, which is very important to many and something we encourage and advocate for.

Does it count as trolling when it's repeated in the match? Someone spam vaulting, getting in the way of a chase, or wasting a pallet isn't trolling, but someone who pointlessly fast vaults near everyone they can find, repeatedly blocks doorways in chases, and drops every pallet in the map probably is trolling even if it's possible that they're just really bad at the game. I see this behavior a lot out of survivors that want to die and got saved, where they go "if I can't leave the match, I'm going to ruin it for everyone."
There's probably a pretty blurry line between where that behavior is considered innocent and where something is considered trolling, but I'd hope that you could report someone for excessively doing it.
It is a fine line in some cases, that's for sure, I do not work for Support, so I don't know the extent of their leniency.
In situations where they are actively blocking you or leading the Killer to you and similar cases, I'd say to report if you think they are doing it on purpose.

Peanits gave some insight on this specific change:

To give some insight here, the survivor still needs to be at that "middle step" of the pickup animation (before the Killer hoists them onto their shoulder) when you start the blind for the save to work, it just doesn't have to be the exact right frame anymore. Any earlier and it still won't blind, any later and the Killer can still turn away.
As a Killer, it's almost too short to notice. Since the blind VFX fade in, it's hard to tell if the blind was on time or buffered in most cases.

It seems there is a lot of confusion about what's bannable as far as trolling I've seen it pop up a lot lately, can you clarify what specifically is bannable when it comes to trolling? Ive heard a few different responses to this and from what I can gather , trolling to BHVR is something different than what people are reporting for
I think people have a very loose definition of trolling, rules-wise I'd say you can consider refusing to participate to the normal gameplay as trolling, so offenses like teaming, holding others hostage, etc. which are considered griefing.
I feel like a lot of players see honest mistakes or lack of game knowledge as trolling, for example a teammate dropping a pallet on someone else's face, when maybe the person just did it without thinking.

This is the deck before I did anything to it. It's hard to see but there are pieces with actual holes and rot and whatnot. So I completely cleaned the deck, sanded all the paint off, and replaced the boards that were really bad.

Additionally, the support beams by the stairs weren't actually connected to the stairs so I talked to my brother who did deck building in a past life and he recommended I get metal brackets.

Then why are we seeing so many cheaters using it? It doesn't make them invulnerable but it does give them a layer of protection, for example I play on xbox, if an xbox cheater comes up against me i can't access their profile to report them to xbox live.
And as for the harassment that's fair enough. Suppose a lot of people get salty messages from people after games. Does dbd have a way for pc players to direct message each other?
I think there is a misunderstanding there, you don't need to report them to Xbox Live and profile links are not necessary for our report system, so there is no need to access their profile.
And as for the harassment that's fair enough. Suppose a lot of people get salty messages from people after games. Does dbd have a way for pc players to direct message each other?
On Steam people can post on other players' profile if they have the comment section public.

Okay so a web ticket has to be logged and from the ingame report and from the date and time reported of the match on the web ticket a team has to find that match and then identify the player, that sounds like a lot of work for those poor guys (and a smaller amount for the player reporting) but possible to do.
I will continue to refuse to play with anonymous players though, as I feel safer knowing hackers are more likely to do use this.
To be honest, we shouldn't have to be reporting hacking as the dbd servers should be able to detect hacking as servers will be able to monitor if we are flying in the air / not trapped after passing over a trap. DBD needs to focus less on the old client anticheat as the client games are easily compromised.
Thanks for your time
Please avoid tagging me or other people multiple times, the quote already tags me, especially avoid tagging the wrong person multiple times as they are not even participating to the discussion.
As I said above, we can discuss if the system needs work and I do agree more things could be done on the server's side, however the procedure to report is in place and working, so for now we need to stick to that.

Really question why they added a mode that is so easy to abuse. If it's to prevent stresmers from getting abused/streamsniped then make a perquisite that you must have a linked twitch account live on stream with a certain number of followers live on the stream to allow anonymous mode to be turned on.
First of all the mode is not abusable, players using it can be reported normally, as no SteamID, profile link or nametag is required to fill up the ticket anymore.
Secondly, streamers and content creators are not the only people who get harassed.

Forgive me @Rizmo but what you said does not make sense to me...
"You can still do this, Anonymous Mode didn't change how the reports work in the slightest, we can even say it made it easier, as you are required to give less information than before."
So click on the player as cheating in the endgame and thats it yes?
"And no action will be taken without proof, so the claims you are talking about will lead to nothing."
As nobody has asked me for proof of this player hacking then no action has been taken against them.
I should add I never have been asked for proof.
Now when I log this on the BHVR website I can provide proof but now how can I link the game / event / player when they are anonymous and have no way of referencing them to BHVR?
As explained here:
@Rizzo said:
Reporting players with Anonymous Mode works exactly the same as reporting someone without it: you report in game, which flags the match for the team, open a ticket on the Support website (https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/categories/6713776396180-Dead-by-Daylight) giving the required information.
The only thing that changed with the addition of Anonymous Mode is that the ticket does not require SteamID, profile links or nametag, as Support can access that kind of information through the in-game report and the details you gave in your ticket.
Proof is required when filing the ticket, and as @GoodBoyKaru already explained, you can upload your clip to Youtube as unlisted and post the link in the ticket.
Now when I log this on the BHVR website I can provide proof but now how can I link the game / event / player when they are anonymous and have no way of referencing them to BHVR?
Again, as explained in my first comment in this thread, Support can access that kind of information through the in-game report that flags the match and the details you give in your ticket.

@BendIt said:
Currently Anonymous Mode does ...
Previously I could report with video evidence to support my claim the player was a hacker
or
Numerous claims of hacking can be made without proof, say from a 4 man SWF who had a bad game against a killer
This is not good
You can still do this, Anonymous Mode didn't change how the reports work in the slightest, we can even say it made it easier, as you are required to give less information than before.
And no action will be taken without proof, so the claims you are talking about will lead to nothing.

To harass in players profiles? That is easily fixed as they would need to give permission.
I'm dismayed to hear you think that is the only arguement whether I outplay a streamer as there are many reasons to display who you play against.
What DBD are allowing at the moment is for hacker to not even get reported and the more information hidden away from players is more and more worrying for the improvement of this game in my humble opinion.
Again, refer to my first comment: Anonymous Mode doesn't change anything regarding the reporting process.
We can argue if the reporting process needs work or not, that's a different discussion though.
-
If the clips show people's information or names and depict them in a negative light, that's against the rules.
You can discuss the topic without the need of posting videos.

@BendIt said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3237507#Comment_3237507
That post was towards endgame stats when the game has finished.
How can you harass or target someone anonymous in game but only find out who it was at the end.
At the end what does it matter except you know who you beat/beat you e.g. a decent streamer/player
Whether you lost to a 4 man SWF with their advantages compared to a 4 very good team of solo survivors and depending on that you can improve as ranking to know is very important in a game, some people don't care but for example I'd like to know if I were in the top survivors or top killers.
If you make it that you are anonymous just until the tally screen, well then people can go to other players' profile and harass them there, which is what the mode is aimed at addressing.
If your only reason to be against it is that you cannot see if you outplayed this or that content creator, I'm sorry but the pros of keeping the mode way outvalue the cons.
-
@BendIt said:

I'm not sure but perhaps endgame stats, why bother hiding anything at that point?
Played against a major streamer and only knew I had played them from a friend in their stream otherwise it was a random 'A BLIGHT' killer.
It is similar to who is in a SWF, the killers will never get better if they lose and always think they all were in a SWF and make little adjustments in future matches.
Anonymous Mode's main goal is to mitigate harassment and targeting, I'm not sure what this has to do with Killers thinking they were facing a SWF.
