I'm already over voice lines after they added them to Wesker.
-
I like the red effect better, but something else small that others could see would have been nice.

it did it poorly honestly... to find informations about players that you faced it's sufficient go on steam... there's a area where it will show you the last players that you faced (yes, even the ones in anonymous mode)
It might go against platform TOS if they obfuscated to the point it broke Steam recent players.

The bubbles that appear after a gen pops or someone gets hooked
I like them, as accessibility feature. Speaking of which...
Killer being forced into narrow FOV shouldn't exist. There are some killers like Nurse I cannot play even with Shadowborn because it gives me motion sickness.
-
I have so many fond memories of that map. I miss it. Nemesis, Demodog and Myers were fun to go against.
-
I'd put Chucky on that list.
-
I think the cenobite design was good, but they didn't seem as menacing. Main character was super annoying. Characters in general I didn't really care much for.
Too many wide/distant shots especially of cenobites, lacked claustrophobic feeling of the first two films. Too much box CGI. And sadly the actress playing Hell Priest had none of the screen presence of Doug Bradley.
I would consider a skin but the voice lines would need to be redone. I hated the generic "demon" processing on her voice. I'd prefer the female cenobite skin from Hellraiser II.
-
I'm enjoying it, coming back after a break. Challenges aren't too sweaty.
-
In the right hands she's too powerful. Which means most nurses I face. I find her impossible to play with controller and motion sickness.
-
I disagree, but only because I hated that episode. TWD in general is so played out, I don't really want it in DBD. Plus it opens the door to survivors from TWD.
-
Skipped lobbies and long wait times go BRRRR.
-
I haven't played any matches yet as survivor.
-
VHS has horrible accessibility, so I noped out on that really quickly. Evil Dead is on my list but seems to have issues. I'm waiting for the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre game as well.
-
If you have good internet connection the YouTube editor is actually really good place to start. I started editing videos on it before I got Final Cut Pro.
-
The internet means we see an abundance of certain kinds of "otaku". It might feel like it's a cult but probably no more than previous forms of entertainment that have captured a generation. In the 60s there was Beatlemania, for example.
-
I played him a lot during the anniversary, but taking another break from DBD. I'm forever waiting for that elusive fix to matchmaking.
-
* Broken matchmaking (dodged lobbies, and 'any match is better than no match philosophy')
* Horrible controller experience

Because they would still need to group up for stuff like healing or unhooking. Not to mention they still would occasionally group up.
I suppose it would work like survivors nearby fully infected survivor are revealed with killer instinct so you will know when somebody is within lethal range of the infected survivor so you can start assimilation.
I would love at this point, to have the physical form of the survivor for added deception fun. I think of the films and the times where they were revealed, it can't really give chase, you have to corner them to mori whilst in mutated form. Hit and run doesn't work really anymore, they'd just put CoH.

Because people are dead stuck on the idea that "The Thing" is a shape shifter monster. It, in fact, is not. It is a monster that infects people and turns them into other instances of the thing which later disguise themselves as the organism whose cells they have substituted.
If we consider "The Things" by Peter Watts at least semi canon, it gives us a slight insight into how The Thing operates. It infects the living creature and overtakes its cells in a manner of a virus, changing them into the ones of The Thing - a decentralized consciousness that grows stronger the more cells it has. We also know that unique nature of humans or other beings on earth is that unlike other lifeforms in the Universe, according to The Thing, they are not decentralized and instead are centralized, having heterogenic kind of anatomy with different organs serving different purpose and the brain operating the rest of the body like a meat puppet. Because of that, when The Thing burrowed inside humans, it didn't have to imitate them, their bodies moved on their own as long as the The Thing didn't take over the brain. Once it did, however, it became able to nearly perfectly copy them.
So, with that in mind, here's how I would make The Thing's power work:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0A355X9BFGFJ/image.png
To put it short:
Whenever The Thing attacks a survivor, it can choose to infect them with its attack or not. Survivors don't know whether the infection has occured and their only way of knowing who might be the next Thing is to track people that got hit & cleared.
Whenever there's an already infected survivor in the trial and a new one is infected, the previously infected survivor gets free from the infection.
Once the infection in the survivor develops enough, The Thing gets a small insight into their surroundings allowing it to known whether there are survivors nearby the infected survivor to then activate its ability and assimilate the survivor, taking full control over them and changing their physical form to become lethal.
Assimilated survivor still possesses an ability to regain control and has to struggle with The Thing over control with his body and once they succeed, they break free from the infection. After that, the infection in the survivor restarts its timer and pauses it for 120 seconds, then the process of becoming fully infected starts again.
Assimilated survivor gets an access to 2 separate abilities - Tentacle grip that allows to start vaulting/breaking animation from greater distance and Bladed appendage that is a lethal attack working similar like Nemesis' whip and Billy's saw.
Survivors have a second way to keep track of who is who. They can find tools to take a blood sample and expose it to fire, revealing whether the checked survivor is infected or not. If the checked survivor is in fact The Thing, they reveal themselves and attack nearby survivors, dealing damage to them. The Thing may choose to take control of the revealed survivor, starting Assimilation or it may ignore it, which means that within 10 seconds the Assimilation ends prematurely.
Yes, if the survivor doesn't know that sounds like a lot of fun. But what is to stop survivors from doing like Discordance and splitting up throughout the match?

Nothing could stop killers from chasing someone after they're unhooked, that isn't the function of anti-tunnel measures.
The function of anti-tunnel measures is to buy the survivor in question enough time to get away from the hook and to a loop, so they can start having agency in the chase again.
This is true. Solo queue it's impossible to gauge whether a survivor can even loop a killer let alone find one.

Sadako is the killer you buy so survivors can have a good time.

Amazon Prime isn't even available in all countries that can play DBD. I don't think having it paywalled by Amazon makes it exclusive, since cosmetics from old rift can be bought.
But I don't think it a good idea to annoy Amazon customers by giving away the same skins. Just do a recolour.

My guess is BHVR know too well the grind is necessary for player retention.

From the Anniversary stream:
https://youtu.be/hILUtCTf7GU?t=2920
"For those who haven't yet prestiged their characters, we're also working on a fair way to still reward players for their time investment and dedication, once this update takes effect."
So it doesn't actually say anything about other players being able to see the reward.

Players prestiged long before the announcement of the upcoming change and a kind of reward. You can say these players want to see a fitting compensation for all the stuff they lost over the years while they commit to the game and the prestige system and when the update arrives you don’t have to loose addons, perks, items or offerings…
This is true, but my question still stands; do we need to create a distinction about who prestiged when? I don't believe we do. Others might disagree.

Yeah the game has issues, but you can't have everything for free. Licensed killers cost money due to...being licensed. They arent that expensive anyways. Best perks in the game comes from the killers and survivors that are already in the game originally or can be bought with iri shards..which are from just playing the game.
Freddie doesnt have outfits because he's licensed. They cant just give him an outfit because i doubt he was wearing too many different outfits in his movie... i actually dont know this since i never saw the remake freddy movie.
Balancing is an issue right now and i do hope they would make reporting person easier so you dont have to jump through hoops to report someone.
Decisive Strike, Pain Resonance and BBQ. There are other DLC perks which can be got with shards.
-
Could just be post-event dip. Also I can see a lot of players leaving after some of the perk changes announced, as the meta has been stale for a long time, changes can be quite confronting.
-
@drsoontm said:
Why? Why should we get anything? It's a gesture, nothing more. Why would we be entitled to any kind of compensation? Because we played before other players?
The problem I think is that once players knew there would be some reward, they grinded several characters to P3. I see why players would be disappointed.
I'm on the fence about having a unique reward. I don't care much for the "sparkle" icon, I think a bloody avatar would have been more fitting. But maybe that is going to be saved for the future. But the question to me is "do we really need to distinct between players that did it before the new system?" because the new system isn't all that different. It's still a bad grind.

I would if I had a garden. My windows are like my garden though. I've had a lot fun growing various plants from seed and cuttings.

Nancy, Steve and the Demopuppy are getting perk charms at their prestige's, but it is their actual perk icons, not the replacement generic ones that replaced them after the chapter left.

The st dlc was spotted on the ps store after 7 months. It was unviewable/delisted before. Though this could just be the ps5 upgrade version for the players who already own the ps4 version

finally, on dbd mobile, some cosmetics were actually buyable again for a short period.

These can be easily faked by using/modifying game assets. Going to need more proof than a screenshot.

The MM is really flawed. I've played against killers I recognise from survivor lobby and vice versa. If your'e in a region with less players you just get bundled together. MM basically says "any match is better than no match" after a while. Also doesn't help with other killers skipping sus lobbies.

Controllers are forbidden from having a decent camera turn rate, which makes 360s way more powerful against console killers than mouse and keyboard PC killers.
On PC, with a half decent DPI, killers can spin their camera to follow a survivor that is doing a 360. Controllers can’t do that at all, so 360s are massively unfair to console killers.
Basically same deal with survivor. Controller play is completely gimped.
-
It was a fun map. I don't know why they didn't just reskin it
-
I've reached a point I won't spend any more money until they fix matchmaking. It's not even on PTB so they can enjoy other whale's money.
-
Personally I'm grateful for them. It's the only way to get some challenges done.
-
Yun-Jin desperately needs some love.
-
I need those Trickster outfits.
-
Controller is much harder gameplay than MNK. Plus you don't get filter users so it's obvious when a console killer is playing.
-
There's lots of charms I'd buy if I could, because I missed out on them.
-
I use Calibre to backup my ebooks. It's free.

20chars
-
It's a latency issue. That's what you get when the matchmaker broadens its search to other regions.

But it is when slowdowns can be stacked to the point the gen takes like 130 seconds, and then you're not considering if you get pushed off the gen, I'm not saying that the old gen times were fair I'm just saying they needed to add something else to go along with gens that isnt gonna feel like repair simulator, if they want to give more time to the trial we should be doing something other than sitting there its just stale.
But it is a repair simulator. You repair gens to be able to escape.
-
I thought it was a party game meant to be played with friends.
-
I would love female cenobite from Hellraiser II.
-
I really doubt BHVR would team up again after having to pull content. I miss Hawkins. It was a fun map.
I'm not in any rush to watch S4. S3 really jumped the shark.

Ive been using Doctor to get this done, since disorienting survivors and getting hits on them was much easier doing so. Getting hits early on in chase really raise the Chaser status a lot, which makes builds like these easier since you can get the first hit early on a lot easier. Here was my build:
Power:
Carter's Spark ("Calm" - Class 1 and "Calm" - Class 2)
Perks:
Dark Devotion
Overcharge
Trail of Torment
Monitor and Abuse
Thank you! I will have to try this.

This challenge is so not fun. Please make it silver. You design challanges for only the sweatiest/most skilled players it is not good balance.
