This is becoming the norm for killers. Imo it slows the game down. I know there are valid reasons for this strategy and I am not deriding it as a valid endgame option. I am just looking for any ways to discourage this by killers.

    I have thought about:

Hide strategy: Let the slugged survivor bleed out and hide through the EGC (unless you know the location and can access the hatch without dying) to waste the killer's time for 4 - 6 approx minutes. If this strategy were employed by enough survivors, maybe the killers would settle for the 3k and take their chances with the hatch/gate scenario for the last survivor.

    Thoughts?

When I opened this thread I thought you were going to suggest a way for a Killer to still get a 4K without having to slug the 3rd survivor... well that would at least solve the slugging situation..

That being said, Killer's are now forced to slug hard anyways because so many survivors are running DS.. not that I blame them, I started using DS again on my Survivor as well haha.. when I play killer I don't plan to ever tunnel or camp someone but often times they are literally in my face and I have no choice, but then if I don't slug I will get DS'd lol

Meanwhile every second game of mine looks like this after the first minute:

    https://youtu.be/2i0Qr2W0aMI

    https://youtu.be/xY2A2L5nKys

    https://youtu.be/ygk82vEkgwY

But yeah killers are totally underpowered toys for survivors. 13 4k's at 5gens is not enough. Please nerf survivors even more. Will people ever stop acting like this game was heavily survivor sided just because the very elite can win more often than not when playing SWF which does not represent normal solo survivor gameplay? After all these survivor nerfs literally every killer I know 4ks at least 8 out of 10 games. It's so rare to see an experienced killer lose a game even when they mess up quite a bit. Just practice and if you particularly struggle with finding people just run tracking perks.

Hi Yama, I think I read somewhere else in a different thread a while back that you are an amazing Cannibal player, maybe Groot mentioned it?

Watched your clips and had 2 questions come to mind I was wondering you could answer for me..

    1. What rank were those videos taken at? Or against roughly what rank survivors? (Because I usually play killer in Rank 6-10 and Cannibal was one of my first Killers for BBQ but I stopped playing him once I reached around Rank 13 and never went back)
    2. Could you possibly share your Perks for using him and maybe any quick tips? I would like to try him out again under the proper circumstances, now that I am better at the game than I was before. - My biggest issue playing Cannibal was finding survivors back then to be honest, not sure if that would still be an issue any longer?

The problem with in game chat is it allows for much more toxicity and if you have to mute it's no longer viable. People tend to troll and play music and shout abuse it also removes what some love about the game.

Then you have those that live in regions with multiple languages like Europe. That region with 4 solos could have an English, French, Italian and Russian in the lobby.

As I said it's very hard to do it visually in ages but voice chat is something which I personaly think would ruin the game for many players due to what it introduces.

No, I didn't mean in-game VOICE Chat.. I completely agree, I hate games that have built-in Voice Chat!

I was just referring to a chat box.. like if I press "Enter" on my keyboard as a Survivor when I am mid-game I would be able to type something that pops up for my other Survivor Teammates..

I personally don't believe that this would "break" the game, but at the least it would give SOLO Survivors more ways of Communicating with each-other like SWF has.

I would be on-board with a change like this personally.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

The main issue with trying to do this is how people play the game. Swf and solo are two different sets of survivors.

Swf have a goal not just to escape but to get thier friends out with them. They are a team of friends working together with a common goal and due to comms they can actively advise and coordinate who does what.

Solo are not a team they are a set of players who each have a goal to escape and help others if they so please and in the end helping the others helps themselves be it more chance to escape or points. Others making it out the match doesn't impact a solo player.

Solo players can never say I'm close to the hook and my gen is almost done I'll get them and solo seeing that won't change anything as they don't know the gen time. It's why you will see many solo players rushing a hook compared to a coordinated swf especially before end game.

Seeing won't change what people are out to get from the game.

Hook for one saves then would need more info to bring it up to swf level. Seeing all other survivors, someone flagging themselves for the hook save stating going now or after gen is done, gen progression of the flagged player, More info if they find the killer patrolling or camping etc. There is a lot more to it that make swf strong than just seeing where the killer or others are.

So where does it stop with the information? Imo due to this solo can never truly be brought up the level of a good coordinated swf unless anything and everything is shown to them.

I completely agree with this unfortunately SWF just has too many options to be strong, but, instead of "showing".. wouldn't it just make sense to allow for an "In-Game" chat..

It would still be difficult to use because you would have to stand still in order to type, and if you have to spam "hook struggle" you couldn't type, but maybe on your first hook you could... the communication would really allow solo players to coordinate with the others.

Honestly, even as a killer main, understanding how much more powerful survivors would potentially be with an "in-game" chat option, I still believe this would be a good thing to implement and a way to fix this "gap" issue people are referring to.. without making any changes that are "too strong" but at least giving survivors a little ability to chat with each other in a match.. it can be really frustrating at times when your teammates doesn't understand what you are trying to do and gets you killed lol..

That being said, if such a change really made it too difficult for killers to win, but I don't think that it would because killers already have to face SWF all the time which is straight up voice comm, then killers maybe could get a couple of other helpful notifications in return, such as I would personally like to see how far the "Struggle" bar is while I am Carrying a Survivor to a Hook! I think that would benefit me a lot in a match having that information available, and I would be happy with a trade-off like that and the ability for survivors to communicate with each other. Or some other similar examples.

    • LIKE KNOWING WHICH TOTEM IS RUIN IF YOU RUN MULTIPLE HEX TOTEM BUILDS -
  • I had TONS of Survivor's DC'ing from my Killer matches last night, it was really annoying.

Basically, if I was willing to "Farm" they stayed, if not they just DC'd. It also has to do with Survivor's trying to "DERANK" right now because of their long que times.

(I HAD 3 SURV DC within the first 3min of the match when I used an EVENT CAKE 103% bp boost during 2xbp event for them)

I mean, if people are willing to DC even when there's an event cake thrown at them during double bp event IDK WHAT to tell you :(

  • @KrazyKat1011123 said:

I think the X2 bloodpoint should be the normal ammount of bp that you get. The new bp buff made so its easier to get every perk on every charecter which is only usefull for killers. I have been playing this game for about a year and I got burnt out for about 3 months because of the grind. I only have the teachable perks for the survivors (bisides steve) and just started for killer.

I'll admit, the "Perk" Grind is probably the biggest "Turn - OFF" for both me and all of my friends from this game, It has prevented 4 of my other friends from even trying to ever play even though they purchased the game, I'm the only one crazy enough to have stuck around to unlock what I needed.

  • @BlockBite said:

They made BBQ and Chili alternative for survivours - We are gonna live forever. But devs forgot about a 1 thing. BBQ and Chili have another 1 option, besides x2 BP, showing the survivours auras. Why they can't add the same thing at We are gonna live forever? For example, you will see the Killer's aura after unhooking the survivour or see all survivours auras. But it is so HaRd

Technically No, because each Survivor perk has to be a portion weaker than any specific Killer Perk as there are 4 Survivors on a match and only 1 Killer. I read that somewhere, it's part of the games Balance.

As a killer i am forced to play SWF, i have no choice in the matter. Why should i as a killer be subjected to toxic SWF groups on a daily basis? There is no notification to indicate that the lobby is filled with SWF, so i have no alternative but to dodge a lobby, or quit mid game. It's not healthy for either side. Unfortunately from my short experience on the game, i run in to more toxic SWF than not. This does not even count the numerous amounts of trash talk psn messages.

I don't understand, nothing you just said has literally ANYTHING to do with what my response to your original statement was.

You said, "We should have separate ques for SWF" to which I replied, I don't see how that would be a possible solution to a problem because if there were separate ques for SWF then a KILLER would have to CHOOSE to play against SWF and I don't see that happening.

Hm, I'm a Killer, I can choose between playing against SWF team or a team of ONLY SOLO players.. which am I going to choose?

    .. see what I mean?

I was just pointing out that your solution doesn't really make any sense, but it's okay, there are legit better solutions available that people have been suggesting, such as the person directly after you..

Separate ques, but one is "Casual Matchmaking" and other is "Ranked" is one example that I personally believe can be made possible to work, if it's done right and there was an actual incentive to play ranked and ranked had slightly different set of rules perhaps than casual matches.

Couldn't have said it better, too much bias one way or the other. I hope a larger amount of people play both sides to a higher level.

Interestingly enough, even though I've spent far more time playing Killer than Survivor (because I am mostly a SOLO Player) throughout my history of playing DBD I have 100% Consistently always managed to rank up BOTH my Survivor and Killer at the exact same time to the same ranks haha.. I'm not trying to do this at all, but for me BOTH Survivor and Killer are always identical ranks for some reason, maybe 1 rank apart at the most, sort of interesting how that happens I guess lol

  • @Groxiverde said:

    2 matchmaking queues;

    - One to casual games, you don't pip/depip, swf of 4 max. Weekly events (ex: this week Bamboozle/quick and quiet are basekit for killers/survivors).

-one to ranked games, you can pip/depip, swf of 2 max and you can't play with teammates 10 ranks above you.

This is exactly what I have been thinking and suggesting as well.. there has to be a way to make it work that ends up being fair for those who want to just play random fun matches and those who like to rank and take the game more "seriously".

  • @TunnelVision said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/712020#Comment_712020

A separate queue for SWF would solve this very issue. I play both roles but as a killer if i believe a group is SWF; i'll avoid. Even as a new player i've had too many toxic SWF groups that feel the need to go out of their way to message me on PSN.

I mean, how would a separate que work? Why would a Killer ever CHOOSE to play against a full SWF when they can just play against people who wouldn't be in SWF at all... that doesn't really make too much sense to me.. but there are better ideas like the one posted after about having a "Casual Match" lobby where there is no rank or pipping involved for example, and then just reward ranked players with some incentive to play that as well. Like most games?

I think the game offers you the option to play with your friends? So i dont see the problem.

You can still play with your friends. You just have to do it against a killer that is as good as the highest rank of your friends or you.

And coming from a survivor main who also plays killer sometimes, i think the problem for killers having to face rank 1's was far much worser then a survivor having to play against a rank 1 killer.

cause lets face it, most rank 1 killers got there by camping and tunnelling. They are not that good. I have 1600 hours in this game and I also still suck as a survivor. I cant loop. But i still can walk away with the highest points from a match. No one told you that you need to run every time. If you are new to the game, try a stealthier approach first if you arent that good. And you will do fine against every high rank killer. Cause most of them really rely on the marks and bloodpools and are otherwise very blind. So often that a killer just walks past me without even seeing me. And i actually think its more funnier to see them so completely blind sometimes then to run around with them.

Well I guess I can't expect you to read everything I wrote throughout the entire thread especially when I write so much lol

@ReviloDBD - You don't have to BUY anything again, create a another account on your PC, and set up family sharing.

You don't just want to play with their friends, you want easy matches with your friends so you can show off.

I'm not sure if I understand.. you're saying it is possible to start a fresh account with out purchasing the game again? How? I'm pretty sure the steam account would still be the same..

Why on earth does everyone keep thinking there's some kind of "showing off" involved or "mocking"? lmao I mean it's unbelievable, mostly because the thought to do so has NEVER occurred to me so it's crazy to me to have to believe that there are so many people who think this way..

Is it really that hard to imagine that someone who is not actually very skilled themselves at the game, still finds DBD to be very fun and challenging to play, and that person would like to enjoy playing the game with their RL Friends who they have convinced to purchase the said game, but unfortunately the RL Friends don't want to play Solo and therefore rather not play the game at all because whenever they play with me they are easily found by the more experienced Killers and often tunneled to death?

Legit, the reason my friends and I were interested in DBD at all was because of how "Thrilling" it was, the game is straight scary as Survivor, the Killers really do feel dangerous and can often pop up out of nowhere, the heartbeat itself is scary and gives adrenaline.. I think the makers of DBD absolutely NAILED it as far as creating a "Horror Game" that truly makes you FEEL like you have to try your hardest to survive and always be on the edge. This feeling is what keeps me addicted, for both survivor and killer usually, and since I'm not very good at the game (therefore I have nothing to show off) this feeling exists and doesn't go away when I play.

My friends all enjoy that feeling too and that's why I was able to convince them to try the game... but them standing absolutely no chance to actually survive because of Perk Disparities and Rank gaps / skill differences ruins the fun for them and prevents them from playing. I have said nothing else besides that I would like to play with my RL friends and have not been able to because they don't like to play with me due to the Killer's they face.

JUST FYI, this HAS NOTHING to do with the new Matchmaking Change for me, this was already like this MONTHS ago, I am not referring to the new matchmaking change and overall that was probably for the better.. EVEN BEFORE the matchmaking change my Rank 20 friends could not play with me when I was Rank 15 because the Killer's were too good and they got "owned" so I'll say for the last time it has nothing to do with that and that isn't what I'm referring to.

I never even said anything about matchmaking actually, ALL I said was that I have considered buying a new DBD account to play as a Rank 20 with my Rank 20 friends. That's it.

All this crazy "bullying" nonesense you guys are on some weird high horse for absolutely no reason that was never my intention and it has nothing to do with what's going on right now with the game or its matchmaking.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/90656/healing-nerf-gen-rushing-adrenaline-new-swf-deranking

Deranking is exploiting a game mechanic to gain an unfair advantage... Are you openly advocating for cheating in the game? Sure sounds like it to me.

Unfortunately as Killer today 4/5 matches I faced (in Purple Rank) where Red Ranks were "Deranking" as they said after in the Lobby and just DC'd in match the moment I downed them... it was not fun and a huge waste of time, I wish it wasn't a thing, but people are seriously doing it left and right!!!

  • @SleepyWillo said:

The just need to add rewards that make it actually worth ranking. It baffles me that they havent added one yet...

In my opinion having a "Casual Play" Lobby that is relatively random and unranked would help, and then having ranked lobby be separate but actually offer some solid rewards for ranking up.. so that way there is still incentive to compete and play ranked, but if you're just trying to have some fun and learn a new killer, play an unleveled survivor, or play with your low rank friends there's a place for that which is unaffected, and perhaps there it could be a wider variety of ranks facing each other with less "strict balancing" where-as ranked will have absolutely "strict balancing"..

This is almost how every other competitive game is that I have played lol.

  • Well why don't you actually give a solution to how to fix the problem? Honestly.. ALL I saw was people in the forums complaining about Matchmaking because of the last patch! NOT because of what it is now, but that was because people of all sorts of random ranks were facing each other causing a ton of unfair matches...

Due to all of the complaints they decided to do something about it, and this is what we got. It's different, and personally I actually am having much worse games now than I was before the change, however, they tried to fix it and now we have a new problem. Don't just get upset at them over them trying to fix something, too many people complaining about the Matchmaking again now.. whether its working as it should and we are just salty about it or it needs to be changed again but we need to offer real solutions.

They may not be able to figure it out on their own.

You can still play with your friends. You’re not barred from playing with them like other games do. You just want to abuse and bypass the system so you can have easier games and mock low rank killers.

    Okay troll. lol

I've never mocked a killer before in my entire life, this could partially be because I'm a Killer Main and I know how difficult it is to play as killer against good survivors, but also has a lot do with the fact that I am a pretty ######### survivor and completely incapable of "mocking" ANY killer doesn't matter what rank they are.

What I was referring to, although I am not even the one who made the post, was that someone had made a joke reference that they "Want you to buy a second account to play with your friends" and I just responded to THAT post saying that, "I have seriously considered it but I chose not to because I didn't want to farm for perks again" which is completely true.. and because I suck on Survivor I rely heavily on my perks, honestly without them I may actually be worse at the game than my newbie rank 20 friends.

The reason I have considered this is because I have TRIED my BEST to convince my RL Friends to play DBD with me, to the point where 4 of them have actually already purchased the game and spent money. But even when they did that and I spent a ton of matches "De-Ranking" intentionally, but not by DCing like a bunch of jerks are doing now ruining the match for everyone, because I thought that would be rude, so I spent DAYs of playing to Derank Naturally from like 10 to 15 .. and EVEN at Rank 15 when I played with my Rank 20 friends we kept going up against Killers that were around my Rank or lower and had all 4 Perks and knew exactly what they were doing, and my New Rank 20 friends had a TERRIBLE time and basically all decided to never play DBD again...

That's when I was like, damn, maybe I should buy a new DBD Account on Steam just so I can play with them... and that was the extent of it, and I didn't do it because of the above mentioned perks issue.. sooo no where was I trying to "Mock" lower rank killers, Please, Get over yourself.

  • @Raccoon said:

    Yes/No + Reason (optional)

I would... but this is getting completely out of hand now.

4/5 of my Killer Games today were Survivors INTENTIONALLY DC'ing to "DERANK"..

That is not fun, and its a complete waste of time, I don't have all day to play just to let others derank. Also I ended up losing a bunch of pretty good Addons because of it and all I wanted was to play one normal match.. which finally I got on my 5th game. At least Killer ques are fast for the first time in forever.

On Survivor right now on the other hand I am 5/5 on playing matches against PRO (Insanely Good) Killer's WAY Above me and my teams' skill level and each match we got 4K'd in under 5min literally. The games barely last at all, and now Survivor que is SUPER long like Killer Que was a while back..

I don't mind the short killer ques, if Survivor's wouldn't just DC intentionally constantly. And the new Survivor ques really do suck, so I can't blame them ALL that much, but I can't even play Survivor right now I guess because I'm purple rank and somehow that means every killer I face is going to completely wreck my whole entire team at the speed of light lol..

I've never faced this difficult Killers before in my 300+ Hours playing this game, seriously. Not sure who the hell I'm being put up against now. But it is WAY above my skill level. I've also never faced this many DC'ing Survivors that just end games to derank it's extremely annoying both ways... so I suppose that even though it was a good change in attempt to make it "FAIR" balancing for the game, it turned out to be even worse than before for me lol.

I really wish that DBD just had a Damn "CASUAL" Play game mode (without Ranks) like other games do... and before everyone tells me how that would be horrible for DBD, I don't feel like explaining myself right now but there ARE certainly ways that could make it work and not be so bad, perhaps be even better.

Lol imagine feeling so sore at losing your gg ez games that you consider making a dbd smurf. As ridiculous as it is in Overwatch, at least rank gives you SOMETHING and the community is so uptight about playing different characters. There is literally no excuse for a dbd smurf - especially as a survivor - other than “I enjoy peeing in other people’s cereal.”

    It's not to smurf...

It's to be able to play with my friends who are new to the game..

    To OP:

I suggest your friend to play some killer. Not only is it better to not being immediatly turned into a survivor main by SWF, but killer is also way more chill at low ranks. Sure you will sometimes encounter derankers who demolish low ranks, but thats rather rare at brown ranks, and gets more common at green ranks.

Playing killer drastically improves your survivor gameplay. You learn about scratchmarks, you learn about what the killer can hear and what not. You learn about gen-placement, about the priorities of killers, their movement, their thoughts. But most importantly, you see how other survivors move. You see how they loop, you see how they do gens, you see how they path after they have done something, you see their perks, and how they affect the killer.

This is something I keep telling my friends who bought DBD and refuse to play, but they just don't want to play the game "by themselves" .. sigh

As I saw, devs watch us, and listen us, they fixed the hair graphics in low preset as I requested and a lot of people voted up. I'm surprised they fixed this in less than a week and I'm very thankful. Now, I want to show more feedback, this time, I'll take the word of my friend.

I've been playing DbD alone more than my first year, then I started to add people thanks to discord, and people which I sometimes still swf. I always wanted to play and talk with my irl friends, I even bought DbD with myers's DLC for someone's birthday, but he just played once. It's now almost 2 years I started, and last week I managed to make one get interested into it because he watched me in twitch. Luckily, the free weekend was coming, so I told him to install it and play together.

    Friday

He had time to play in the afternoon, game was already installed and was working, he even did the tutorials. I wanted to show him the basics in a kyf match but we got the same error all the time, our versions weren't the same and we couldn't get in the same party. After several time trying things I had to come to the servers, then, minutes later, a dev answers, he had to verify the game files, and after that he had to download several GB of content again. We had to leave the matches for next day.

    Saturday

We finally could fix the issue, we had the kyf match, it took me 20 minutes to explain him every single thing, including mechanics, loops, hooks, hatch, shack,...

We decided to rock some public matches.

Match number 1: rank 14 nurse. (I supose the context is already easy to guess).

Match number 2: rank 15 leatherface. It was going good at the begin, but then the killer started to slug us and at the end my friend was the only one who died because of noed and it was his first hook.

Match number 3: rank 14 doctor. I never had such as this kind of toxic doctor, who made the match last for 20 MINUTES and I'm talking about real time. His build was iridiscent king and more electric range, with unerving presence, overcharge, barbecue and the one to make the terror radius a lot bigger plus the jigsaw piece offering. The match lasted for all that only because the killer wanted to. He was acting so strange and while he was getting people down, he left them to go back to some gens to aply overcharge. After that he proceeded to hook sometimes. The match was a complete mess and my friend couldn't complete all the skillchecks to get out of madness most of the time. He couldn't play. When there were just me and another guy I decided to suicide to give him the hatch, because the match already lasted 15 minutes, but then the killer just slugged me and camped me, he also found the hatch as then me ad the other survivor did. After slugging us several times changing the slugged survivor he slugged our two, waited the other guy to bleed out and then take and hook me. He even acted very toxic at the chat.

The morning ended, and my friend had stuff to do irl, so the games would continue next day

    Sunday

Me: hey, did you already buy DbD? It's in offer and your birthday is soon, so I though about buying it with some DLCs to you.

My friend: don't ever ask me to play that game again.

Looks like I'll never bring anyone to join this game.

Well, I understand where you are coming from man...

    1. This Game is absolutely not beginner friendly, and unfortunately it is NOT a "Casual" player's game either.. this narrows down the target audience quite drastically. The reason I say this is because any player that would like to start out as a true beginner will be at a HUGE disadvantage without 4 (Good) Perks either as Survivor or Killer, especially because a lot of the best perks are locked behind DLC content you have to pay for.. basically if you want to actually be able to enjoy playing this game at all you have to be willing to put forth the many hours it takes to unlock a bunch of "meta" perks and level a ton of characters, only to be stuck with the RNG of the Bloodweb..
    2. I've also tried my best to get my RL friends to join me in DBD, I've even managed to get like 4 of them to BUY the game, but they NEVER play, because they simply can't enjoy themselves.. when they try Killer all 4 survivors escape because even at Rank 20 a bunch of survivors have meta perks, and visa versa if they play Survivor they get tunneled by the Killer because they are easy targets and its so easy to tell that they don't really know how to hide/escape so they're usually first to die.. even if I play with them and voice comm try to help its very rare that they manage to escape with me..
    3. The game itself has an extremely high skill cap, I've met people with over 2000+ hours played who still say that they consider themselves nothing compared to a few other players that they have met, and yet I consider myself nothing compared to them at 300+ hours played.. that is a lot of hours to play something and barely even be considered "decent" or mid-range.
    4. OMG DUDE I MIGHT have faced the same Doctor you are referring to recently, I'm not sure if this is just something people saw and are copying or what, but I keep getting these annoying Doctor's playing on the NEW map with MAX Terror Radius (like above and beyond) + overcharge + unnerving presence so basically no matter where you are on the new Map you are under his Terror Radius, I swear, and they DON'T even play the game.. they just run up and down the hallway, literally, kicking gens and spamming shock, there was one the other day that actually held the game hostage for literally about 45min or so.. he slugged a few of us here and there, but he NEVER even bothered to hook, and he spent the entire game rapidly running back and forth between 3 gens in the hallway constantly kicking them, he would 100% ignore me even if I was right beside the gen and just go back to the other one and repeat.. it was actually quite impossible to win and eventually I got lucky and one of my teammates had a key and we found the hatch and just escaped the hell out of there, but I think there's a chance if we didn't escape no matter what we would have tried to do the game would have never ended because he literally never bothered to attack or chase anyone all game long.. the only time he would even hit you / slug you was if you literally stood right ontop of a gen. Then today I just had another similar experience, I can't help but feel like Doctor can really hold this new map hostage if he wants to.. but the annoying thing is they aren't even trying to win they are just having fun wasting everyone's time.. Hope I don't face that again anytime soon!

Anyways, bottom line, I REALLY WISH I COULD PLAY THIS GAME WITH MY RL FRIENDS... but I don't think it's ever going to happen haha so might as well give up, make new friends.

So I watched a video about whether to use Agitation or Iron Grasp IF you're only using one of them. Apparently you get just a little bit farther with Iron Grasp compared to Agitation so if you're only going to use 1 of the Basement perks use Iron Grasp.

I'm glad you're having fun with the builds :) I love throwing out my Freddy builds because they're nasty and I never see anyone running the more brutal combinations.

Haha thank you, good info, for some reason I read Agitation was better but perhaps I'm wrong, either way I'm really just waiting for Dying Light to work again because I think DL in that Build is just going to be the nastiest lol especially stacking Ropes.

One more quick Question that I have though regarding the Basement Build.. I noticed that I would be wasting a lot of time placing Snares all throughout the Basement Entrance and Stairs, as well as just in general I feel like I spend so much time carrying the Survivor there every time, that the Gens get done SUPER fast in the meantime...

In the end, thanks to Survivors being Altruistic, I still end up usually getting a 3K or 4K if I do everything right lol, but it's risky because usually that's on 1 Gen remaining or Exit Gates already powered because the others had so much time to repair gens while I was busy messing around the Basement.. if perhaps, they wanted to let the person die as a Sacrifice I would probably end up with the game ending with only 1K or if the person who I just hooked ENDS up (which happened to me earlier) being someone who is dead on hook because it's their 3rd one.. then the others can just escape and ignore the fact that I just hooked someone cuz they're dead lol.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on how to counter this, the matches seemed to be in my favor MOST of the time, and surprisingly even got a lot of BP for them, but overall I felt like it was very quick and risky giving the Survivor's so many easy gens to complete. Is that just normally how the build works?

    Prologue

Basically, I watched a lot of YouTubers and Streamers play the Demogorgon during the PTB, and my first impressions of its Portals was meh...

However, yesterday, I bought the Demogorgon with 500 Auric Cells (I know, could've bought the DLC for a better prize, but I wanted to support BHVR) and I gave him a try. Well, I am wrong, his portals are really good because I tried placing them out of LoS from generators and I got countless grabs from it.

    Epilogue

All in all, his portals are pretty good, and try placing them in blind spots where survivors have to check on them every now and then. :)

    Question about the Portals..

When you Teleport to a new place, do you give off Terror Radius at the location at which you arrive? Because wouldn't the Survivors working on the Gen near there hear the terror radius pop up all of the sudden around a corner and make a run for it? Just wondering.

Everyone seems to have answered the other questions so I will chime in with some builds as Freddy is why I play this game <3

Sloppy Butcher, Knockout, Thanatophobia, and either Dying Light for maximum torture or whatever you like. ADD-ONS--Swing Chains and Black Box or Jump Rope and the Snares that Blind so the crawling sluggies don't know where to crawl to. Always have at least 1 person slugged, if you're using Dying Light then preferably the Obsession.

Iron Grasp, Agitation, STBFL, and either MYC or Devour Hope. You don't need add-ons but you do need your Snares, always hook in the Basement and place Snares at the top and going down the stairs. If a Gen is above the Basement you hit the gold mine :)

Right now I'm actually trying out an interesting Hybrid mix of the two you suggested, I tried the basement build but without MYC (which I don't have) it's a bit difficult to secure..

So instead I am now using: Agitation, Thanatophobia, Sloppy Butcher, Nurses Calling/BBQ

Testing that out and so far it has been pretty fun, I try to bring them to basement hook every time if I can and snare around, but I still get to play my sloppy playstyle.

@Peanits can this be implemented? An icon for the rescued survivor so they DON’T follow the rescuer (who’s showing their aura to the killer.

    Yes this as well haha..

But in my case I run Babysitter with Distortion, and sometimes even We'll Make it.. so I would actually RATHER have them follow me because I can see the Killer's Aura but the Killer can't see mine or our scratch marks so if the Survivor would just follow me to safety then I could heal them up real quick with We'll Make It .. that would be ideal, but so far it's only happened like once because they always run off a different direction or just stay crouched and hidden completely wasting the effects of Babysitter all together lol..

  • Oh that's awesome, and Good To Know!! Thank You! I will have to look for that status effect next time I get unhooked to make sure I know what to look out for..

And yeah, I think Babysitter should have something similar, if it doesn't.. at least while the Survivor is making no scratch marks.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don’t know why it doesn’t but it should pop up with an icon like Kindred or We’ll Make It.

That surely can’t be hard to implement.

    Same for Camaraderie

Yes, this is exactly what I'm talking about! Good idea right? Honestly, so should Borrowed Time if it doesn't already, there has to be a way for the Survivor to tell that the person who rescued them just gave them a brief buff or else they won't even be able to take advantage of it!

  • Bump! Hoping at least some people would comment on this, and maybe help me get to the bottom of it.

I'll gladly show ya the ropes on Freddy. Most of your questions have been answered, except for vaulting. The only thing you can affect vaulting speeds of is WINDOW vaults, not pallet vaults.

Beyond that, if you'd like some tutoring, hit me up. I'm a Freddy main who typically dances around rank 1 teams, lol.

Ohhh WOW I didn't realize it was ONLY Window vaults, damn NO WONDER lol... I was like, people are diving over this pallet super fast... okay that clarifies it thank you! Dang unfortunately that means that pallets are still going to be troubling for Freddy..

Anyways thank you for offering, I might just take you up on that at some point because I would like to learn how to play him properly! How would I reach you?

Nah I got disbarred from the Fraternity of Platypus Neuro Surgeons a while back, so I can't give you a mind transplant.

    This had me LOL xD

Also I am enjoying trying different builds with Fixated, I've actually created a Thread about it yesterday asking for more potential build suggestions but yeah I still haven't found my favorite combo of Perks to run with it yet!

So many options! Please anyone keep posting your favorite Fixated Perk Builds! :D

  • @TWiXT said:

My current fave is Decisive Strike, Head-on, Inner Strength, We're Gonna Live Forever. It happens all the time, you get unhooked (especially in the basement), but killer is within spitting distance. Jumping in a locker after being unhooked gives the killer 2 options:

    1. Pull you out of the locker and take the DS
    2. Leave you in the locker to heal over 8 seconds and then take a head-on stun.

Unless you've already used the DS, you are guaranteed an escape from a camping/tunneling killer, as well as a heal. It's gotta be frustrating as hell for them. You can replace WGLF with something else if you want, personally I just like the extra points, but I've also had fun using Detective's Hunch or Small Game to locate those trickier to find totems (or as I've come to call them after this update: Med-packs).

This is a pretty cool/fun unique build that works well with stunning the killer and staying alive longer, I would LOVE to try it but unfortunately I don't have Head On available and I feel like that's the key Perk in the build to work as you are saying haha.

  • @Neurotic said:

Fixated, Inner Strength, Mettle of Man, Borrowed time

I like this build, but I think Head On would work better than Fixated in it personally.

Or maybe even Baby Sitter for Unhooks + getting more attention for Protection hits on MoM

I just like the reduced exhaustion. It's by 8s if I'm not mistaken. I call this build "Discount Deadhard."

Honestly, Vigil is just there so you can use SB more often. It can be replaced with LW. Sometimes, I like swapping Vigil for Hope because Hope works with Fixated.

Ooo.. Hope working with Fixated sounds nice! But that's endgame only lol. I tried Sprint Burst but I don't think I'm quite that good at using it yet to be honest..

  • @Jakojo said:

My two favorite builds right now are:

    Fixated, Sprint Burst, Vigil, Adrenaline

Inner Strength, Quick & Quiet, Head On, Adrenaline

Steve's perks are alright. The only one I'd probably take of his is Camaraderie; but that can be used with almost anything.

Thanks for the Share!! Appreciate the recommendation, may I ask you, what is the purpose of using Vigil exactly? I read the perk description and don't understand how it is useful in the build.

And wouldn't "Lightweight" be nice to use in that Fixated build of yours? With SB included, for getting away from killer?

  • I completely agree,

Although I RATHER have the ability to stay Grouped with Friends after a match ends during SWF, which is now incorporated quite nicely into the Play as Survivor lobby..

I 100% DO already miss the "Switch to Killer" feature which allowed me to switch back and forth quickly and easily and I've gotten rather used to it, in fact it was the only way I ever switched from Survivor or Killer before, never have I went back to main menu to do it. This is now requiring us to do an extra step, ALTHOUGH we are absolutely headed in the right direction with the new lobby format, it would be best if BOTH features were available successfully.

  • Oops I forgot to mention, Second Wind..

Second Wind could be a fun "Rescue Build" Combo as well...

    Something like:

Second Wind, We'll Make It, We're Gonna Live Forever, X

I would like to try that actually haha.

  • This has happened to me literally 5 times already and I had no idea it was the cause :( very unfortunate, I lost 3 survivor puddings and 2 event cakes because of this during matches that were very long and fun and I was on my 3rd kill already..
