PC, on DX12.
AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Nvidia RTX 4060. I was playing Skull Merchant on Sanctum of Wrath and the flashing happened on the endgame screen. I had discord overlay on if that has anything to do with it.
I'm afraid i'm not sure which log file to upload as it has been a while since it happened and I have a bunch more now.
-
It ain't really all that. With NOED as an option it always loses to that.
It could do with a different effect on top of what it does. Actually, all of Wesker's perks need a buff if you ask me.
-
I mean I never take off cakes when playing Legion since I have like 500 of them.

No

It was in fact programmed to get +100% bonus bloodpoints, though.

No.

Why'd you cover up your perks 🤔

Perk for perk, better than Buckle Up.
It doesn't have as good synergy that Buckle Up does, though.

And people who are sick and tired of people abusing Anon Mode to break the game rules and banking on the fact that the majority of the playerbase doesn't understand the report system. I can't tell you how many jerks play Anon, both as my soloq teammates, and Killers, (and presumably some of my Survivors as Killer, but I can't tell if they griefed their own team). They all too often engage in flagrant rule breaking, and Anon mode empowers their belief that they are safe. At the same time, because I've seen people on the forums all too often not understanding how the report system works, means the vast majority of people don't report people properly, thus Anon WORKS as a shield for bad actors, mostly due to ignorance and poor implementation.
Also you can private your steam profile so random people can't comment, or only friends can comment on your profile. Why wouldn't someone do that? My steam profile isn't a forum for public discussion, it is more akin to my house, and only people I invite are allowed there. You can have reviews, and steam group/game posts publicly visible and available to comment, but there is no reason to have your profile open for comment. As far as consoles, you can get people banned for DMing insults as tame as 'you are 2% stinkier than the average person' since their rules for bans/reporting are so lax, so just report them there.https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3703916#Comment_3703916
Showing username after the match is over is normal for this sort of feature, as you don't need to worry about streamsniping/anonymity after the match is done. The purpose is already reached by blocking mid-match. The welcome is overstayed when you can clearly see people not understanding the report system because the system is so obfuscated only AFTER the advent of Anon mode.

This is a square/rectangle problem (although with most instead of all). All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. Most griefers/cheaters use Anon mode, but not all Anon mode users are cheaters/griefers.
People act out more under Anon mode, and there are already protections in place for console/steam unwanted messages. (Steam can disable messages from non-friends, private profile comments to only allow for friends, etc. Console has far less requirements for ban reports on messaging.)
Should anyone have to take extra effort to prevent griefers or harassing messages? No, but sadly this is the internet, with both its highs and lows. Some actions should be done to ensure more harm isn't done than good, and currently IME, Anon does more harm than good, especially when the benefits of Anon are already solved through other (and far better) means. I haven't had any messages prevented by using Anon (that weren't prevented by disabling messages from people off my friends list), but I have had griefers actively ruining multiple matches because they feel empowered to do so with Anon mode. That means I now have to record matches and provide video evidence and hop through all the hoops of the report system from a problem caused by a solution for an already solved problem.Does it really matter if they "feel" safe, when they're not? I've reported a bunch of Anon Mode players, and the ones that have broken the rules were sanctioned. I know you can report them, you know you can report them, I don't see why you are so upset about it. The false belief of safety will only work against rulebreakers, if anything.
I shouldn't have to lock down my Steam Profile to avoid nasty comments from one game. I have had absolutely zero nasty messages from DBD players on my profile ever since I've started using anon mode, and I can keep my profile public. I play other games and have other reasons why I'd want people who aren't on my friends list to leave comments on my profile.
I'm not sure where you get the idea that revealing someone's username after the game is over is standard. I'm not aware of any game that has such privacy measures that does that. All that really does in reality is allow people to draw hate toward's others profiles. I don't want some weird streamer pulling up my profile after a game to check it out after the game and potentially invite their fans to comment on it. There's some rather nasty people in the community that I'd rather not have anywhere near my profile.
And if anything, reporting actually became more streamlined with the advent of Anon Mode. Improvements could be made to the system overall but removing Anon Mode won't do that.

that would be a worse OTR
I mean, for yourself, yes. OTR doesn't benefit your teammates though, only you.

No, not like Old BT where you both get endurance. I'm saying that when you run BT, every time you get unhooked you'd get 20s of Endurance and Haste yourself.

This is still an issue by the way. It got fixed for Onryo, can we please fix it for Pinhead now?

I don’t view BT as an altruistic perk. I see it more as “Anti tunnel” or give my teammate a chance to breathe while I heal them so they don’t go down.
It’s not really meant for altruism
I mean it is altruistic by definition, as in it only applies an effect that benefits others and not yourself.

at least let us see usernames in postgame so I can actually write a ticket for whatever hacker I just faced

B) BHVR use the in game report you make to correlate the user that you're reporting. You don't need to know their username to report them.

Nice try BHVR….. I saw what you did to Marvin's Blood /s
-
The only people who want Anon Mode removed are people who either don't know you can still report Anon users or people who are mad that they can't talk smack on people's profiles anymore.
-
I don't know what possessed them to rework these addons, and THEN decide that they were too overpowered? Who was complaining about these in either state?
-
It's a bug.

The killer can only have 8 regressions for the whole game and you still can't handle a 3 gens?
Come on, you can't be serious.
It's 8 per gen, not 8 for the entire match.

Unless they buff it to like 64m+ or something, I don't think it'll ever be good.

Instead of insulting op for their apparent "lack of skill", we could actually talk about what they were saying! Imagine that!!
Because they got a point here: If the devs wanted to remove locker saves, why did they leave this in? You would expect grabbing someone out of a locker and grabbing while entering / exiting a locker is essentially the same.
But it isn't, one has blindness protection, the other hasn't. It's perfectly valid to asks about that. No reason to trash talk op for it.
One has blindness protection because it's the only way to down a Survivor in a locker. If they get out, you have the option to lunge.

@SAWII said:
What exactly makes it overpowered/unfun in your opinion? Do you also think that the Legion’s and Deathslinger’s powers need to be changed?
The issue isn't just that it applies Deep Wound, it's that it applies it with basically no cooldown, bypassing endurance entirely.
-
Back up and lunge. Simple counter and a free down.
-
I'm pretty sure they do have server-side sanity checks.
A lot of the cheats such as being able to bring more than 4 perks, stacking addons infinitely etc were actually patched for a while. Unfortunately, the battle against cheaters is an arms race. The devs will implement anti-cheat measures, and cheaters eventually find a way to bypass them.
A lot of the cheaters I've run into have been able to do far less than they used to. About a year back, they were instantly popping gens and could escape at the press of a button. Now, most of the cheaters I'm running into are just speedhacking.
-
You do know those Auric Cells don't transfer back to the live game, right? They're gone forever now.
-
I think he needs buffs, I agree with all of these except the movement speed when charging and the locked locker duration ones.
Increasing the movement speed while charging would make it kind of obnoxious at zoning, which is already the least fun part about Dredge.
I don't think a full second should be shaved off of the locked locker exit duration, maybe 0.5s though. Locking a locker needs to be meaningful.

I wouldn't mind the awful escape rate if we were drowning in rewards for playing a game we're expected to lose, but considering I take from 3 to 5 times longer to complete survivor quest compared to a killer quest…
Killers get awesome powers, moris, easy challenges that are often things like "kick a gen", "hit a survivor", "hook survivors"… My Freddy dailies are "achieve dream chaser score" or whatever and I have no clue what I'm meant to do, I just queue as Freddy once and complete it. My survivor dailies? Escape the trial. Sabotage hooks. Be the one that opens the gates. Things that often require me to throw the match to complete the quest and/or only happen once every 15 matches.
What's my reward for playing survivor? Clicking on a generator or on a survivor for minutes on end. I don't have cool powers like throwing out decoys or teleporting between lockers. I'm stuck clicking generators for 20k bp while killers get at least 25k per match by putting minimum effort and being able to enshroud everyone in darkness or vomiting weird stuff from their belly like a grenade launcher.
Like, okay, I get it, you want survivors to lose so killers can live their power fantasy. But at least make it rewarding or fun? Give us more stuff like Diversion, Deception, Blast Mine… and less "Every full moon, if a killer opens a locker and you're looking straight at them but don't start chase, you get a 1% extra gen repair speed until you break line of sight with them".
It sounds like you'd enjoy Identity V more to be honest.

LF's power is "easy" sure, if you just use it to backrev in the open. But it does have a lot nuances to it that give it a good amount of depth.
A lot of people really don't get how far Leatherface can down you if you have 3 charges, the extra speed you get while charging means you might be better using your sweeps rather than going for an m1 on an injured person at times, and some safe tiles become unsafe with how fast you move.
I won't get into it right now since it's 6am for me, but LF does have a skill ceiling quite higher than most people think he does. He's "easy" to play, hard to master.
He might have a lot more to him than what first appears, but he still needs a skill floor. Timing the dash extension and "don't bump" are basically his entire skill floor, and removing either of those would make him way too easy.
-
I mean Bubba isn't exactly a super difficult killer to play, they need to add some kind of skill expression to him that isn't just "don't bump".
-
They moved where they post dev updates/patch notes to here:
They should probably put a link to it in the General News section to be honest.
As for the Twitter sidebar, that's a third party embed and it's broken on their end. That's all to do with Elon torching the website, not BHVR.
-
there's this button at the bottom of that same UI. Weird.
Clicking it takes you here:
-
They should not make a perk that causes the victim's computer to explode. Maybe.
-
and then they add a Hot Fuzz chapter as well and it's just the same 2 guys again.
-
Yes, they're already good now, and they'll be leagues better when DS actually returns to a 5s stun.
-
For Killer, I play a wide range mostly. Legion is my main and probably my most played overall but I go through phases of other killers I play. It's a lot of Trickster at the moment.
For Survivor I've been playing exclusively Sable since she dropped.
-
They don't actually have the license for Scream. They have the license for the outfit, which Scream also has. It's complicated.
The Ghostface of Scream and the Ghostface in DBD are different characters.
-
I'm not sure why they didn't just stick with this iteration of the addon, to be honest.
-
It was a bad idea for Skull Merchant and it's a worse idea for Auras.

I knew I'd incur some salt over this post, but my god…this is simply delicious. And not a single person disproved the truth of my point, either. That Deep Wounds is inherently useless. It serves no genuine purpose other than a visual effect as a reminder of survivors to heal themselves, and little else. Self entitlement truly runs deep in this game, but judging by the kind of primary threads that take up the most attention, I'm not surprised. At all.
Yes, the game was harder and required you to think more. 'Poor you'. You couldn't just find a corner to cry in and whimper as you healed/mended while the Killer chases after someone else. Truly do none of you have any shame…? You have perks that block auras, self healing capabilities and now a buffed stun perk. On top of that you can set totems that hide auras and reveal auras to Survivors. Ever since I returned to this game, the tea-bagging has become fully entrenched, nothing but trolls while killers feel like they were castrated and watered down to be completely boring or hamstrung by their own powers in many ways.
So you're absolutely correct I will make threads like this. The truth must be spoken, regardless of what you feel towards me. And if I have to laugh at you as I speak it, I gladly will. Unfortunately I must 'regrettably' inform you, that you aren't the only human on earth playing this game. And your feelings are not the primary focus of attention that solely matters & damn the rest.

@mizark: I read patch notes from time to time, granted I don't have the interest to scroll over the last four years of notes but I have kept myself in the loop of things. To put it simply, MMR doesn't mean anything to me, because it doesn't reflect on the player's skill floor level, just their frequency. I win more matches than I lose, I only lose matches to those who extremely abuse the system and gibber on Discord while doing it. Against any genuine team, 8/10 matches I win fair and squared.
I often find myself losing matches to people who abuse the system, because they are essentially using extremely aggressive tactics that demand fill focus of meta perk use, of which I will admit I am loathe to on certain killers as all it does is end up turning into a game of either slugging or tunnelling all the way to China.
Deep Wounds, did all of those things, by downing people. That was the inherent point of its design. You can't heal if you're downed. You can't do totems if you're downed. You can't do gens if you are downed. If it SLOWED down while running, that's acceptable, but stopping entirely meant it was heavily abused. On Legions release, I never got any kills from Deep Wound then, and would not now. So it doesn't matter what the description says because it's entirely ineffective anyways.
So either BUFF Deep Wound, or REMOVE it. There's no genuine point to using it. I can chase you, grind your bones into paste and hook your gangly corpse for the Entity and not even remember it exists. That's how relavently useful it is at this point.
I think it's kind of ironic to accuse people of being self-entitled while making a response like that.
Also, how did you never get any kills with release Legion Deep Wound. Literally all you had to do was walk backwards. That's genuinely impressive that you couldn't get that to work.
-
-
Freddy has like zero catchup potential. You might be able to get a cheeky teleport hit in from time to time but the cooldown is long and it's very obviously telegraphed.
He's just not that good, I'm afraid. He doesn't even have the ability to pre-trap loops that well anymore because his Snare count was nerfed.
-
Deep Wound is meant to waste time primarily. It's not meant to be consistently lethal. It just has the threat of lethality so you're forced to mend.
There WAS a time where it was easy to down someone with Deep Wound. It was miserable. The release version of Legion was the most hated killer in the game's entire history.
-
This wouldn't have been an issue if they'd just kept the infinite rush addon.
It was silly, kind of good and actually had a downside to balance it out.
