Use one of the many alarm clocks or find an awake Survivor.
-
Yeah, it's really sad that they've abandoned the idea entirely.
-
Sole Survivor should give a 5-10% gen speed bonus for every dead Survivor on top of it's current effects.
It'd still be the final girl perk but it'd also be more effective in close games and tunnelling situations, and wouldn't be purely selfish.
-
I don't even think Sole Survivor needs to be nerfed. It's not a good perk at all.
Instead, it needs an extra effect to be helpful during the trial, make it not purely selfish. Maybe a stacking gen speed bonus for every dead Survivor, that way it helps against those nasty 3v1 scenarios.

It was added in error in the dev update. There's no cooldown at all.

pretty heavy nerf for a character that did not need any. 5.0 hinder -7 second is 2 second cooldown +charge time to activate it, so around ~3.5 seconds.
Edit: They also nerfed garden rake & jump rope add-on, Adjust numbers. Apparently fake pallet got adjust in the most irrelevant way
Not an overall nerf on the addons. They just took the values they added to the basekit off of them.
Running the addons on the PTB and Live will have the same effect, it's just the difference between the basekit and with the addons is now smaller.
-
I hope it's a footnote change, or a bugfix, because this was a big oversight on the dev's part.

My thought process here is that this is something I really want. So I am seriously willing to spend $40 USD on it.
And there would naturally be a report system … which would be funded by the high entry price.
Violations would disable access to the feature, leading to self-regulation for a majority of the community.
I think the positives greatly outweigh the potential for negatives here. I am a normal player that likes the game a lot. It would be really cool to use the in-game DBD custom badge creator so I can participate in next year's cosmetic design competition. I'm not an artist, but I think I could make a cool design if I had something in game to do it.
Nah, I've played For Honor a bunch, which has this exact feature, and having offensive imagery in your emblem would get your entire account banned (which people can spend a lot of money on with heroes and limited time skins and the like).
Despite this, I still couldn't go a week without seeing someone with an Iron Cross, a Swastika or the SS Thunderbolts in my matches. People's desire to be hateful often outweighs any sort of punishment.
A custom badge feature would be cool, but unfortunately any game with such a thing universally has it abused. It's not something I want to see in DBD.
-
The amount of swastikas and slurs you'd see… please god no.

Massive nerf. It says "hide your red stain", not undetectable. And 2-minute cooldown.
I'm almost questioning if this is an error because that's literally the original version of the perk from years ago (ie. before undetectable even existed) just with slightly better numbers.
I'm thinking it's an error as well. The Cooldown didn't exist on the PTB iirc and it's listed on the PTB version of the perk in the dev note.
-
Unlikely. It will probably be fine.
-
Was the Beast of Prey dev note added in error? It still talks about the perk as if it was the release iteration (i.e. only hiding the Red Stain as Undetectable didn't exist yet), which had the cooldown.
-
Autohaven and Macmillan offerings are common because none of the realms in those maps are particularly bad at all (except Resting Place or Storehouse), so I don't particularly mind those. It's just guaranteeing you'll go to a map that doesn't suck.
It's really annoying getting Eyrie, Badham or Gideon offerings from Survivors, or Midwich and Dead Dawg offerings from Killers, though.
-
I don't think they want to be consumer friendly. That's why they opt to put it in time-limited bundles instead of just releasing the outfit straight to the store.
They want to put a time pressure on you and bundle it with things you might not necessarily not want so you spend more money.
-
My MMR (Mend Making Rating) is 99999999999. because of Legion.
-
I generally find that slowdown perks have, and probably always will be a greater hinderance to my games as Survivor than aura perks.
-
Dying does not necessarily mean losing. A 1k is still a hard loss for the killer, and if I die to ensure that the rest of my team escapes, that's usually a win in my book.
-
It's been months since I've seen a Trickster.
-
It's incredibly annoying how they changed this and it should be reverted.
-
This is still an issue.
-
This has been bugged for like 4 years now.
-
I'm gonna continue my mission to P9 every killer.
I might end up P100ing Freddy if I find him interesting to play and he doesn't get significantly nerfed, but I've already got 2 P100s under my belt so it's less of a priority.
I am kind of running low on addons because I ended up P3ing him on the old system all that time ago, though.
and it'd look pretty to have both my "Legacy P3" killers at P100 next to each other… tempting.
-
It has an extremely long cooldown.

Seeing this guy play the game was all I needed to realize he had no idea what he was doing. If you can't play your own game at even a decent skill level then how the hell can you claim to understand it?!
Just another professional BSer at work thinking they know everything simply because they're on the inside. Those of us that play the game at a much higher calibur are sitting on the outside looking in while shaking our heads and facepalming ourselves in disbelief..
Playing a game and designing a game require different skill sets. Being good at one does not mean you're good at the other. Some people who are very good at playing the game can sometimes have pretty objectively terrible ideas for game balance.

I have impression that over-lay is related to Dredge tunneling. If you hit someone in deepwound as Dredge during Nightfall, the deep wound+Nightfall stacks. your screen would be near pitch black. Now Nightfall and Deepwound darkening will not stack into making the survivor nearly completely blind.
it's nothing burger change unless cared about dredge nightfall+deepwound stacking.
From the killer's perspective, I care about Legion mainly. Deep Wound is already basically a non-threat and having your screen go dark if you let the timer elapse was a potential downside for not mending urgently. Now that's gone there's not really much reason to not do ~15s of a generator before you mend.
I'm not saying Deep Wound should be lethal, but it should be an urgent thing if you're not currently being chased.
The overlay also looked really damn cool from the Survivor side and I'm genuinely going to miss it. I really hate it when cool bits of flavor are removed from the game like this, it takes away from the horror feeling just that little bit more.
-
@Hex_Ignored said:
The screen going almost completely dark over time in an already dark game isn't flavor, it's simply unnecessary and unpleasant. This is a welcome change.
It only goes almost completely dark if you are actively doing an action for nearly 20 seconds instead of mending. It was completely avoidable.

I mean I would support giving Legion some buffs anyway regardless of the deep wound changes, I feel like they're a bit undertuned
I'm doubtful we'll get anything anytime soon. BHVR's speed with balance changes is so slow, it's infuriating.

@sizzlingmario4 said:
While you're right that removing the vignette does actually make it less obvious, the vignette itself was obnoxious. I wouldn't have been opposed to toning it down as opposed to removing it altogether, but something about it had to change. It made the screen way too dark when you were closer to bleeding out.
I'm not sure how much it would help, but I wouldn't mind if they also added deep wound as an actual status effect on the right, just as another reminder that it's there.
The screen being very dark when you were close to bleeding out was a non-issue considering that was 100% avoidable. Just mend instead of greeding gens.
The full bar vignette didn't really obscure your vision that much anyway. This might end up being a nerf to a killer that already struggles in chase a lot… unless people start dropping dead because they forget they needed to mend, anyway.

it is 2 m/s per second. 50%.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3874597#Comment_3874597
let's see how many counters these zombies have
- stunning with a pallet
- running away from a gen than LOS them in specific way makes AI ignore the survivor and path mindlessly around the map.
- Flashlight stun the zombie for 15 seconds.
All of these actions take minimal time investment. pallet stunning takes like 10 seconds. running away from a gen takes like 25 seconds. flashlight takes like 2 seconds. short term-wise, the zombies are poor 4vs1 game-delay tool. you lose all the gens long before the zombies have much or any impact on the match.
Neither #1 and #2 are minimal time investments, and #1 requires a resource. #3 is item dependent
25 seconds is not a minimal time investment at all. Pain Resonance knocks off 18 seconds of a generator and that's very significant.
-
I disagree mostly. He can practically guarantee hits in a lot of scenarios, and doesn't get punished hard at all for cancelling a whip. His power should not be more spammable than it arguably already is. Just cancel if you're not confident you'll hit. His chase power is already incredible and doesn't need any more buffs.
Asking for zombies to go twice as fast isn't "not asking for much" either. It is hard to notice the pressure they give, but playing against Nemesis really shows you how much of a pain they can be. Them being so passive in nature can make you lose sight of what they can actually do.
The one thing I agree on is having an anti-stuck mechanic. If you can't make their pathing work all the time, then you should at least be able to make it so they explode if they detect they're stuck and can't find a way out.
-
They probably don't need to. All of the super experimental ideas are prototyped and tested internally, and the ones that don't work well are ruled out well before they reach the PTB stage. The things we see from there are the results of said experiments and further refinement.
The resources required to polish something to the point where it'd be suitable to have in the player's hands is probably not worth the risk compared to a quick internal prototype. Even if they preface it with "this is super experimental and will likely break", people will still give them flak for it either way.
The early stages of implementing an idea into a game are messy. Lots of weird prototypes and rapid tweaks, a LOT of placeholder materials. That kind of stuff is generally unsuitable to have in the player's hands, as it doesn't look or feel nice yet, and that can give people a negative image of the upcoming content.
Take an example, Old School Runescape are working on a new skill, Sailing, and they're taking the unique approach of showing the development process from a VERY early stage, said messy prototypes and the like. However, even though they have prefaced this with the fact that what's been shown is in very early alpha, some people run with what they're shown, and immediately assume it'll be terrible based on the very early workings.
OSRS has a unique development style anyway, where potential additions are voted on by the playerbase, and have to clear a certain percentage of yes votes to be added, but even with such a player-centered way of adding content, they still have the negative effects of showing such an early build of the content. This would be magnified for a studio with a more traditional way of pushing content like BHVR is.
I'd love to see what kind of weird and wacky ideas they've had and ended up deciding against adding, but short of getting a job as a game designer there, I don't think that's ever going to happen outside of a few exceptions.
-
Well, I got a new email with updated most played characters for the year. I guess it was sending the most played overall instead of just for the year.

That's because killer-mains have solidified an iron grip on the game's narrative and dismiss any tiny, minute critique against them as "whining" or "complaining". You guys have absolutely no self-awareness and zero accountability. You genuinely believe you are incapable of playing wrong. Even your extreme defensiveness over this semi-satire post proves that.
Odd response, especially considering we're not even talking contentious tactics like tunneling, slugging or camping here, it's literally just using your power.
Your mindset is concerning and I think you should probably lay off the tinfoil hatting. There is no shadowy cabal of killer mains pulling the strings behind the scenes.
-
It'd probably be an incredibly bad idea due to how dangerous the basement is, I don't think your idea would be particularly balanced, and having one generator that could count for two would also be exploitable. A couple of Survivors go down there with beefy toolboxes and you're 2 gens down in an instant.
However, it would make certain basement-related perks far batter. Monstrous Shrine, Territorial Imperative, Strength in Shadows and Wicked would get a major boost in usefulness. That would be interesting to see, at least.
I don't think I've seen a suggestion like yours on the forums, though, so points for novelty. Interesting things to consider, even if I don't think it should be added at all.

It's quick because, if it wasn't, people would want to beat their heads against a wall. If it was as slow as switching between the Twins, people would complain. Auto-aim is QOL, not a justification for a lousy playstyle. That doesn't mean you abuse the power to be a tryhard. Just continue the chase and M1 like you're supposed to, it's not that hard.
Ghostface's power revolves around hiding around a corner and filling a meter from a stalking position while remaining unseen. He is most definitely not unseen mid-chase out in the open and should not be allowed to pop it on a whim. We already have Myers for that. Every time some loser pops Ghost's power mid-chase, I roll my eyes and let them hook me - because at that point, why bother? Let the noobs have their "fun".
You're guilty of both of these, aren't you?
Guilty of….. playing the killer as intended?
The mindsets of some people genuinely baffle me. You are literally getting mad to the point of ragequitting over people using their power properly.

Most definitely NOT how he was designed to be played. Same for Ghostface popping Exposed mid-chase (even though he's not hiding).
Quick Switching to cams is absolutely meant to be a thing? That's why you can do it so quickly, and why there's an auto-aim.
Same with Ghostface being able to 99 stalk and pop exposed mid-chase. His stalk decayed passively on the PTB he released, and it got changed because he was abysmal. He's still not a good killer by any means even today.

Oh yeah, I was mainly talking about OP's post, not yours x3
The Nemesis one is relatable, like c'mon man you could've got the hit 30 seconds ago if you weren't trying to use the whip LOL
-
Some of these are wild… The Singularity one is literally just "omg i can't believe they'd STOP in chase to USE THEIR POWER 🙄 what tryhards"
DBD players will hate over half the roster and still say they like this game.

Same vibes as OG hostage doc honestly. Might've been considered holding the game hostage years ago, but the fact that we have the anti 3-gen mechanic is probably enough for the devs to pretend this is acceptable.

I feel like my stats are slightly off, at least for killer. Survivor I 100% believe that David who is P88 when my second highest leveled survivor is P15, that David is my most played survivor. However I don't play that much Doctor anymore. I haven't played him seriously as one of my mains in like 3 years. Sure I still like playing him, but there's absolutely no way he's my most played killer.
A lot of people are saying that the most played character stat is based off of all time playing. It would make sense since I mained Zarina for years, but swapped to Sable when she came out in March, but got Zarina as the most played in the stats anyway.
-
Events can get sweaty regardless of role. I've had a bunch of lobbies where people split on gens for the entire match to try and end it as quickly as possible.
-
I've been a very dedicated legion main for nearly 5 years at this point x3
I'm very high up on the leaderboards for Survivors downed in Deep Wound. I was well into the top 100 at one point but I'm not quite sure what I am now considering I've just come back from a decently long break.

Honestly, I'm surprised we don't have a graveyard yet.

Make the game more accessible, more fun, more sillyI'm not sure if pre-6.1.0 was inherently more "fun" or "silly". It was a lot of the same cookie cutter builds across most matches.
Obviously, you still get the same today, but there's far more variety in what people bring, and variety is generally good.
