  • Loading up a match at all. But I have unfinished achievements and very few other ways to get dopamine.

  • Survivors are all toxic and awful and need to be punished. Grab your good ol' ebony mori and tunnel away. The sooner you get someone on second hook, the sooner you can shove your chainsaw through their guts. Simple as that.

  • Everyone is toxic. I guess everyone cheats as well. Ban the entire community. Good riddance.

  • I wanna get into RPD for the cheevo, haven't seen it once and I only ever see the RPD badges on killer bloodwebs

  • 6 months. Every game I play is against a console killer and every match against a console killer is thoroughly unenjoyable. They're not good, they're not fun to play against and I just don't have a good time with it, even escaping feels like a chore.

  • Have a friend who got the game but never played it. After 20 minutes of explaining things and getting him leveled and such, our first match is a Meyers who pops EW3 in the first 30 seconds and has everyone downed in under a minute. I'm good, not great and my friend is absolute newbie. Skill based match making my ass. Under no circumstances should that kind of player ever get dropped on someone in their very first match. All purple perks, Ruin, BBQ, etc, this is obviously someone who knows what they're doing. Kinda pissed. But this is what I come to expect.

  • F tier game, F tier killer.

  • Not sure what the problem is. We're dbd players. That means we're all terrible and deserve every single bad thing that happens to us.

  • I'd love to see Sprint burst as an activated ability like Dead hard so you can run around normally without setting SB off, use it when you need it

  • Y'know what? I actually haven't. 800 someodd hours in and I've never played Wraith. The fact that I'm making a very specific comment about how two mechanics interact with each other is a smokescreen to hide my ignorance. Excellent deductive reasoning skills. That's exactly the kind of critical thinking we need more of

  • @Junylar said:

He can't do anything against a flashlight. If you have one flashlight in your team, Wraith turns into a killer with no ability whatsoever

That sounds fine on paper, what actually ends up happening is that he's on top of you by the time your beam is focused and the time it takes to focus a flashlight is close to what it is to uncloak so it does you very little good regardless

  • @Shaped said:

Some of his add ons can be strong but he is still not good enough for competent swf I think.

But I am the person who finds spirit fine (strong but fine) too so you shouldn't listen to me since most people disagree on that one.

Even if you're right, 98% of people are not competent swfs. So... you think he should stay as is because one team out of fifty can deal with him? Real generous, that.

  • Biggest problem is the community. DBD is full of the most awful, garbage human being i've ever seen. Consistently, every time I play. It's sweaty, toxic, and it feels like a chore. I have fun in maybe... MAYBE 1/15 games. Having fun seems to be too high of a bar. These days, I'm just lucky to find a match that doesn't make me want to shoot myself.

  • MMR. Please. I am so sick of red ranks five games in a row, then a barely competent 16 with no perks. I'm a middle of the road survivor, I shouldn't be getting the far ends of the skill spectrum and nothing else.

  • The only thing that scares me is how hopeless and miserable this game makes me feel, and yet despite significant damage to my mental state, I keep playing. Even when I don't care at all about the outcome. Load into a map, stare blankly at the wall while survivors pop gens and struggle to get up the will to even play.

  • Wholeseome? DbD? I spend every game marinating in depression and self loathing, only sometimes working up the energy to give a crap about the outcome of the match. What is this wholesome stuff you're talking about?

I have played 3 games today as deathslinger - a killer I barely play.

But why do BEhaviour allow people to tbag at the exitgate?

I wish there was some kind of cooldown on both the flashligt, for the click-spamming, and on the crouchsystem so people wont be so toxic. How hard can it be to fix this?

Dont allow people to be toxic, devs. It ruins this game.

Here's what you do. Run NOED and Bloodwarden. On Deathslinger, you can haul someone out of the gate, down, hook, block the gate for everyone else.

If you can't play to win, then make other people lose

  • Not to mention that the community is just awful too. Even matches that don't have serious lag or frame issues, people just aren't fun to play against.

  • Oh absolutely. Did you have fun? No

    Did you have fun? No

Do you expect to have fun? No

Do you normally have fun? No

I get in and I'm like... I could keep playing... Or I could cut my wrists. They seem equally appealing right now. But I'm a cheevo hunter. Whatever it takes to get my dopamine fix, y'know?

  • It's not just consoles, I'm on pc with a fairly beefy machine. Every match against nemesis today has had noticable stuttering and lag

  • You'd think they'd be able to do the bloodstains as an overlay and not need to rework every cosmetic.

  • There's an interesting thing about Oni. Unlike with PH or Blight, you can aim and move at the same so his demon dash is a lot more mobile than other killers. Since your power is based off blood orbs, you want to keep your survivors wounded and punish them for trying to heal, so I go with Sloppy butcher, Thana and Nurses, then a sight perk or ruin in the fourth slot

  • The expectations for pipping as killer are much higher. Starting at rank 12, you need 3 Iris and a gold to double pip, but for a survivor, it's only 2 iris and 2 gold all the way down into rank 5 at least. That said. For a killer, almost all their points come from hooks so you don't have to do as much to be achieving your goals. Malicious and Devout both score most their points from hooks and Chaser, you score your points from hitting people during chases with usually leads to a hook.

Nobody is going to leave their teammate on the ground, that's boring for the survivor on the ground and can get your team killed. If they are slugging and the killer finds you and your teammate your both dead, if the killer is good.

That's in an ideal world, which this certainly is not. I'm talking specifically about when there are only two people alive. Let the other guy bleed out. Waste as much of the killer's time as possible. Because what else are you gonna do? Against Myers? Die. Against Bubba? Die. Against Ghostface? Die. If you're injured and all out of healing, anyone will be able to down you. If they cared about playing the game, they wouldn't be trying to null out hatch as a strategy, because that's what that is. If someone is gonna be a dick, treat them in kind. It sucks for the person on the floor, but better than throwing yourself into the meat grinder.

  • It is though. Do gens and get out. Same thing, like, if you one of the last two survivors left alive and your partner gets downed and slugged, leave him to bleed out. Chances are high that they're getting slug camped and if you go in for the heal, you're gonna die too. Don't do it. You're not obligated to help anyone and in many cases it's more of a hindrance anyways.

Also, I'm glad that you get supportive people on your threads. When I get irritated and make a thread complaining about Bubba, what does literally everyone say? "He's not even that good. Mid rank killer at best, just get better at loops"

  • The thing that really bugs me is people who think tunneling is a good strategy. Most often, it isn't. If you're playing optimally, you aren't going to be tunneling or camping because you're leaving gens untended for so long. But I so often see matches where the killer hooks one person three times in a row. Then find someone else, three times in row and so on. At that point, you're not playing to win. You're playing to make someone else lose. The 'screw someone elses day over because it's not against the rules' kind of attitude is tolerated and supported, then people wonder why the community is so bad. That's why.

  • As killer, playing Doctor, I got accused of camping. Funny thing is, I was needing Iri Devout emblems, so I want all the hooks I can get. Hook Elodie then go to the other side of the map to give Meg a chance to unhook. She leaves Elodie to die on hook then says it's my fault. Oh, and Elodie's for not dying fast enough.

With all due respect, you are a Potato. There is no shame in that, but you are relatively new. That means you face mostly new Killers. New Killers camp, and as result of camping, tunnel more. They haven't learned how inefficient it is toward over all Pips, BP, and Emblem advancement. I'm not saying you are exaggerating; you clearly are having exactly those experiences. Those just aren't common across the board. There are also ways your teammates can mitigate the issue and make sure the Killer profits less by it. That is the quickest way to improve.

Moreover, safe rescues are STILL possible even with camping Killers. As I pointed out above, there is Borrowed Time. There is also coordinated rescue where one goes in and gets the chase so the other can pull at the hook. There is trading hooks, i.e. getting that person down and taking the protection hit, and possibly the down yourself for the overall good of the team. All of these things (and more actually) are within YOUR power and that of your teammates as Survivors. I'm going to tell you something, that I sadly don't think you will accept.

You need to stop worrying about what OTHER people are doing and focus on what YOU are doing. You have no power over how others choose to play. You have no say over the game either. I'm going to be blunt here; they aren't going to fix camping or tunneling for you. That is a non-starter. You can decry it and lament it to your hearts content, but those are part of the game. You either learn to deal with them or you don't. The longer you blame YOUR problems on other people (or the game) the longer it is going to take you to get good at this game. That is my dose of tough love for the day. Nobody every accepts this when I first tell them. Privately, down the road (usually a month or two) I get a private message from some telling me they WISH they had listened sooner.

Relatively new? That's a really patronizing thing to say. The idea that because you, as a survivor, can control how you play, therefore if someone else screws you over, it's actually your fault is also not correct. I'm talking about solo queue where you can absolutely get matched up with people that don't know what they're doing and completely sandbag you.

Sure, camping and tunneling aren't against the rules, but they're not fun to play against. It's like MTG against a deck that just counters everything you do. It's a legit strategy but nobody enjoys playing with you when you do that. Going into a match to play in such a way that you know nobody else is going to enjoy is kind of a ######### thing to do. If it's MTG, I can decide to not play against someone who I know uses decks like that is a choice I can make. I have no control over who I get matched against.

To demonstrate, I kind of want to get a swf together, and everyone hides in lockers with head on. Just waiting. Move before you get birds. Kick the killer in the face if they get close. Do you think you'd have fun in a match where you're just getting head oned the entire time? No, you won't. But if you complain about people being toxic, well you just gotta get good, right? The killer isn't going to have fun. And survivors who go into the match with the specific intent of screwing their killer over, then they're kind of being jerks. That kind of attitude is problematic in both roles.

  • @Moundshroud said:

Some Players, like Clevite earlier in this thread, actively apply additional rules to themselves in regards to this. Most do not, and it isn't (in my opinion) appropriate to try and grief or shame them for playing the game within the rules. Our extra, unofficial, rules are personal and apply only to ourselves.

Most Killers aren't tunneling you. Tunneling takes presence of mind and intent. I submit that most Killers simply take the first target that presents itself, the next best thing. If I return to the hook from whatever I was doing and I see two Survivors I make an instant judgement. These are the things which weigh in on it the most:

    1. Who is closer to me.
    2. Who is running directly away in a straight line and who is going at an angle I can cut.
    3. Are they both injured, i.e. who is Insta-Down?
    4. Does either of them have a key?

At no point does the question of whether or not one of them was just on the hook even enter my mind. I consider that entirely irrelevant. I don't use that information as a pro or a con. Obviously, I know who I have hooked, the only exception being those crazy squads that all come in looking identical to one another. I just don't consider that information as important as the four things I list above. My PRIMARY concern is who can I catch up to, hit, and down in the most reliable way. That's it. That is all there is to it.

Believe it or not, it is Survivors who decide/cause Tunneling in most situations. They do this by:

    1. Making unsafe rescues. I could do an essay on HOW to do safe rescues.
    2. Outright farming.
    3. Unhooking by purposely putting the hooked between them and an approaching Killer.
    4. Choosing to not use Borrowed Time (it is an option you know).
    5. Vanishing like a Ninja right after the unhook and leaving the unhooked holding the bag.
    6. Insisting on healing the unhooked right at the hook to get those altruism points in immediately.
    7. Would-be rescuers seem unwilling these days to even take a protection hit.
    8. Would-be rescuers seem unwilling to be sure THEY are the closest and likely to take the chase.
    9. Would-be rescuers are absolutely unwilling to take their turn on the hook, i.e. trade when tactical.
    10. Overall putting the team effort first has lagged. It doesn't take SWF for coordination, as it used to happen in Solo.

Sometimes that's the case. Most? I disagree. I've depipped all morning because of things like:

    1. Invisible Wraith right next to the hook
    2. Insidious Bubba
    3. Billy in the woods, chainsaw revved, ready to dash as soon as someone goes for the unhook. In each case, I'm the one going down immediately off hook. I can't control other people not having BT, but I'm being penalized. In some cases, where there is no terror radius, BT does you no good anyways, as it needs a terror radius to proc. At any rate, that isn't a fun experience for me. Should everyone be expected to swf?
  • This is becoming a problem for sure. I played for 5 hours this morning. Not a single good game. We saw Bubba 9 times and Freddy 7 times, with 4 Wraiths and a Myers or two. Not a single good game. Not one. I don't even have to survive, I just want to enjoy myself and it's #########, toxic killers for days, to the point that bathtub toast is sounding pretty good.

  • It's not cheating, no, but there's ways to play that are fun for everyone and ways to play that ruin the experience for the other players. If you're going to play in such a way that other people won't enjoy playing with you, then you're not cheating, you're just a ######### person.

  • I've been having issues too, 11 hooks only scores a gold devout

I'm not trying to say the disease is intelligent, I'm saying that when the achievements are referring to "While playing as The Plague..." it's discussing Adiris and the infection collectively in that instance.

It is kind of flimsy apologism because I guarentee there's instances where "she" is also used as a pronoun for "The Plague", but the idea that the sickness is the Killer, and Adiris' role is to be a vessel for it, has always kinda been my headcanon.

That is a pretty cool idea, though I think Adiris does need some of the responsibility as the killer.

"I didn't throw him on the meat hook. The sickness inside me threw him on the meat hook. I'm innocent."

  • Maybe Myers and Plague stopped seeing themselves as male and female after entering the fog. You don't know :p

  • This is a serious issue. I've never met a game that pisses me off more than DbD and I'm super chill otherwise. I'm here to have fun, but you run into a group that's dead set on making sure you don't have fun and suddenly you're ready to rip their throats out and even winning is only cathartic, not enjoyable.

  • Oh, yeah, it just changed. I didn't know there was such a lag

  • Same for me, I've had windows not want to vault on two different maps so far, Badham and Coldwind. The vault just doesn't work. Even if you get hit, stop, stand in front of it and try to vault, there's a serious time delay on it.

  • I don't record my matches =\

DBD and Halo take up almost all my hard drive space

  • No, she didn't go after any of the water basins and was downing with basic attacks

  • Nope. Puke, smack, down. Span of a couple seconds

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

This is a hearfelt request from someone who's just trying to enjoy killer matches. For the love of the Entity, LEAVE! I seriously don't need to see you butt dancing at me for 4 minutes, and I'm pretty sure your queue times are already long enough, so please please PLEASE use those 4 minutes when it's clear I'm not coming to go wait in the lobby! Let us all move onto our next match for once!

Here's what you do, my dude. If you don't like a certain kind of behavior, punish it.

My favorite way to do that is running Deathslinger with Blood Warden and Noed. People want to dance in the exit gates? Spear em? Reel em out of the gate, you can down with one hit, throw em on a hook. That sets off Blood Warden, so you've got some extra time to pick off the rest.

It's similar to a survivor, if you don't want killers tunneling you, run DS and shank em with a broken beer bottle.

  • Yes! All of this! It's definitely been my experience that the worst people are on console, the inconsiderate ones, the ones making avoidable mistakes, etc. Not that all console players are bad but it seems that all the bad people I come across are on console. Though, to be fair, it does have to be a huge pain to type a message using a joystick, but still.

And survivor mains can't process that undying&ruin combo is also taking 2 perk slots that are permanently lost once survivors figure out insanely difficult process understable exclusively for people with science degree of doing bones, so here we are.

I personally never asked for "nerf X for survivors, but don't nerf X for killers". I can cope with the other side having strong things if I have the equivalent on my side. Yet we see the tendency of taking strong things from killers....and not addressing equivalents of survivor side. And that is utter bullshit which you can't deny.

So devs should've either never touched undying in the first place, or listened not only to survivors. Dealing with DSUB is just as frustrating as undying&ruin, especially if survivors abuse it. This combo forces you into losing playstyle, as well as giving survivor a 60 seconds of complete safety, since killer can't do anything to that survivor (excluding pyramidhead of course) and in endgame scenarios this becomes the worst thing to deal with.

So let me ask you this question

what is wrong with developers who ignored voices from one part of the community that were screaming for more than two years and listened to voices whining for two months?

And please don't start with 'DSUB is fine, keys are fine', this is beyond just biased.

Except that this isn't an equivalent situation. Undying's whole thing is interacting with other perks. Now that it's been changed, there are some strats that won't work, like having every totem being Haunted Ground. But, this also improves other perks by keeping tokens on Lullaby or Devour Hope. It's more dynamic now, and it was meant to be that way and now it does its job in a more balanced fashion. Comparing that to a set of perks that only function under specific circumstances that are entirely dependent on what the killer does is just wrong.

What the community says is important, up to a point. But people are always going to be biased towards what they want. Can't always get what you want. And I say this being someone who plays survivor and killer about the same amount.

  • Probably not? If it's an event item that gets added to the store then it's available for purchase and other outfits will come out the following holiday seems to be how it works.

  • The time limit on DS is not that long. You've got what, 50 seconds? And once it gets burned it's gone. One time use.Same with Unbreakable, you burn it, it's gone. This is, in fact, a pretty niche situation that killers have a tendency to force themselves into. I run DS and oftentimes, I never get a chance to use it because my hooks are too far apart. That's how it should be. So, if you're getting DSed, then maybe you're not trying to tunnel but the timer doesn't lie. Even in that case, it's a one time thing per match per survivor and not everyone runs DS.

  • Because then it's not legitimate complaining. Some people just like to whine, you can't get around that. Some people aren't going to know that it's been posted, but for a lot of people, that'll settle the issue. And those that know will link the post so that we know we're being listened to.

  • I don't get why people complain about this. It's two perk slots for things you can only use once. Yeah, it's irritating, but there's an easy workaround. Don't tunnel people. It's not hard. If one person just got unhooked, go for the other guy. Seriously, all this complaining about people punishing killers for having bad manners. If someone is able to DS you, you shouldn't have gone for them in the first place. If you down someone and they can't DS you, grab and hook em, so Unbreakable doesn't do anything.

Now, I get that there are toxic survivors out there, I play both sides, but these are reactionary perks, not like flashlights or head on. I do find it funny that when I complain about Doctor and the list of like, sixteen different abilities he has, the killer mains tell me to quit being a baby and get good. Shoe's on the other foot here.

  • The Tome 1 also glitched for me. Double checked that that's the task I had. End game, it was completed, showed up gold on the web, then got the blood points, but didn't register the task as complete.

  • I really wanna know if there's a significant difference in the iq of console players, cause they seem to be the usual culprit. Gens are all done, one gate's open, other gate is at 70. Get hooked right next to the gate. Two people come to save me, both healthy. They don't even manage the unhook. Both got downed. All you had to do was open the gate first. Like, how hard is this?

  • There sometimes comes a point where even if you're technically right, you really shouldn't be arguing your point. Whether you want more gratuitious blood or you want the game available to a younger audience, either way, it doesn't make ya look good. I really hope people play this game for more than just the desire to see people getting murdered.
