I don’t know. It’s a tricky glitch but I don’t think the devs would ban you for it. You’re practically taking someone out of a glitch not using it against them.

That is true. And you know what? People know about it. I played a few rounds of survivor and steered clear of the hills ir anything that looked like I would get stuck on.

And you could have turned your back?

Don't get me wrong i commend you for not pulling a d**k move on a player that's bugged, I'd do the same. But I'm confused as to why you seem surprised that they then carried on with their objectives, such as gens. Flashlights at the gate are crummy, I've faced a few, but I've never felt the need to play toxic after or post about it.

When crap like that happens you have a choice I guess. I could indeed use it as an excuse to play toxic myself, or i can just judge them for the childish idiots they are and move on. Both are reasonable responses, but i know which one I'd prefer.w

True they were childish. There was no surprise. Probably could have worded it better. What I should have mentioned is when he first flashed i though he left and i looked away to talk to someone sitting next to me, when i looked back i was still being. Blinded. And it far longer than the max blind.

But as a whole, no wont punish everyone. Just those who deserve.

Overly polite players need to understand that they will most likely never get any polite reactions in DBD as the community mostly consists of... Let's just say "interesting" individuals.

Therefore you should always just play as effective as possible unless you want to be overly fair for the sake of your own ideals.

Oh I'm far from overly polite. To be honest if I didnt already know about the bug he would have been hooked.

Your objective is to kill, not to have mercy.

True. In addition to being nice, I didn't wanna run the risk of being reported for an exploit either. Not sure how they are handling this one.

That was pretty low of him. Me, I'd have stayed and given you a kill. I've done lots of times.

Rarely ever get the return favor though whenever I show mercy. Had a guy start in my TR and found him immediately. I shook my head and slashed at the open map. He proceeded to try and body block and flashlight blind me every time I went for a hook. I thought he might have WGLF or MoM. No, just being annoying.

He complained that I camped him after the match. His buddy tried for the hook and then looped the hook for his entire second stage. I admit, I could have cut the loop short, but I figured I'd let his buddy be dumb.

Right! I had a match with ghostface when I first started didnt know the map and headed straight for a dead end. He let me go without even hitting me. Respectable.

So he didn't need points or have a flashlight challenge? Again, why does it matter?

This just sounds yet another killer/survivor post trying to get other killers/survivors to continue this unnecessary hatred of the other side.

No, not at all. I read a post earlier to day that specifically blamed killers as to why survivors play toxic. I was show casing whay we do. I I tell you what. When cross platform come and I see you, I will show you just what toxic is. I really hope you us this name too.

so using an item in the game, one that no longer gives that God awful white screen of actual blinding, is toxic?

No read again. If he had flashlights any other time no problem. He could have left he was right there.

You mean besides he was a decent human being and didn't punish someone for a broken game, then the game proceeded as normal and he lost then posted about it?

It has nothing to do with the loss at all. Never once complained about losing.

  • @Nickeh said:

Flashlights are a part of the functioning game and give the survivors points. You not taking advantage of a glitch doesn't mean the survivors should let you kill them. Lol

He was at the exit when he used the flashlight, like one step and he was out. And it wasn't a quick blind, he held it most likely til it ran out then left. Anything else would have been fine. It was uncalled for.

  • Keyboards i agree with. Controllers have an easy fix, just get one with the turbo function.

Not to mention pc hacks. I know consoles can be but it's a lot harder and not as common. It's basically why I quit fortnite.

I'm done being nice to this community. This place is filled with "killer op" "survivors op" "nurf this" "nurf that"

If you're a casual who thinks this game is balanced and or think killer is the power role, you obviously have less than 500 hours in the game. So go somewhere else and let the players with 1k or more hours talk about balance.

People with 100 hours complaining about nurse being op. Or how clown is broken.

I have over 4k hours in this and have seen some TOUGH times. Infinites, double pallets, literal instant gens. The game isn't like that anymore.

The game is (arguably) in one of its best states.

Some major things need addressed but that comes with time. So stop crying about nerfs and buffs and let the devs focus on what needs done.

This game is balenced around rank 20-12 survivors.

The casuals need to stop complaining about balance and put more time into it.

Sorry, snowflake. The game isn't easy at first. Get use to it.

I see just as many people with well over 1,000 hours complaining about the same things you mentioned. Also while it might take time, you could casually get over 1,000 hours in any game really. 1 hour a day for 3 years would do it just fine.

  • I mean I see what your saying but he wasn't a survivor or victim. He was a killer along with leatherface. Maybe one of the victims, like Pam from the first, mainly because she was hooked.

  • Because some people will be like that. Even in horror movies there is that one selfish prick who puts himself over the team.

Me personally, I will stay if someone gets downed or hooked. If everyone is fine I just leave. I dont take joy in taunting the killer but that's me.

The current argument for DS being fine is that it isn't an anti-tunnelling perk, so it's okay if killers that weren't tunnelling get hit with it

    but also

that DS can be avoided entirely by not tunnelling. Also that you should just slug them as if they don't often have unbreakable as well.

Is it tunneling if I hook a survivor, someone rescues before I even take a step, I down and hook them both? Because I get that a lot from survivors.

  • Also maybe incorporate the acid blood somehow.

Sure, the most "toxic" part of DBD is the end-game chat. But some actions during the match are toxic too - they usually have no other point than to annoy the other side. For example purposely waiting at the exit gate and t-bagging the killer or slapping someone on the hook, and maybe abusing some flaws with the game, like bringing object of obsession with a Midwich offering.

Playing sweatily and using scummy tactics is not "toxic", but is overall unfun (at least for one side)

Is it toxic to constantly shock the last survivor because you enjoy being sadistic with the doctor? If so I'm pretty guilty.

I'm old, much older than most of you. I played PVP games back when they very first started, followed on down, and now I'm here playing this one. I got really into Team Fortress for awhile. Oddly enough, nobody every spent time whining and winging about right of way, or whether you should let that guy get away, or what was an acceptable way to machine gun the opposing team to death. Back then PVP was pretty straightforward. Like I said, I'm old. Perhaps I'm just too old to understand this new generation of entitled snots who feel that other people are somehow responsible for their fun. That we can be rough, but not too rough. There seems to be so many people now who seem to think PVP is more like some kind of cooperative song and dance.

I'm not trying to sound mean, but I know it comes off that way. Toxic behavior doesn't exist inside the game. The game is the game except in the rarest of cases. Toxic behavior happens before or after a game (mostly after). We have people who gloat and strut in victory. We have whiners getting salty and defensive in defeat. It is pathetic. Losers. I have a fun anecdote from just last night....

I was playing Myers (as I'm focused on him right now) and got Haddonfield. The game gets going and seems pretty typical. The Survivors are a bit weird and keep going back to Mikey's house, not going around doing lots of generators. This is a poor tactic and I assume they are new, so I'm not going out of my way to be hard on them. They keep putting all the pressure on that one Generator and I keep hitting them (breaking it up a bit) so I don't down them figuring they will get the idea on their own that they are spending too much time here.

Well I'm carrying the Tombstone Piece and one of them runs right into me (kind of cheeky) and gets Mori'd. I didn't want to Mori her, but the Tombstone Piece kicks in automatically if you are Tier-3 and they are real close when you hit. Then the rest of them... get even more cheeky. They are clearly (to me) SWF and coordinating every move. They keep trying this weird trick where they go out on the roof crouch (two of them) and one is to lead me off and the other go back inside. I fell for it ONCE... on purpose as they were not very good at it. Then when they still would not take the hint one tried to go back in through the window while I was barely out of it and Mor'd herself too. I hit the other one and went to the ground and threw him on the middle of the street to look around for a hook I wanted and now Stalk for the last person. Using the Tombstone had drained me out of 3.

The guy immediately disconnected. I thought this was an odd choice but shrugged and ran down the last survivor, hooked and sacrificed her. They were all much lower Rank than me. In deference to the rules here I won't give their names. They were salty and profane. I kind of shrugged an laughed. Then they started saying were were just here to Troll anyway. I said, "Really? Kind of backfired on you didn't it? Troll me some more whenever you want because I like these blood points." My point is what they did in the game, whatever the intent, wasn't Toxic. It is what they did AFTER the game that made it foul. The best games I've had were super sweat, hard fought and ended badly for one side or the other but we all were friendly and respectful. Toxic isn't game play. It is how we comport ourselves OFF THE FIELD.

Fellow oldie here, and I agree with you 100%. I'm always called out and insulted because I dont fall for obvious survivor tricks. Like when I start a chase and not even five seconds pass before another survivor runs by expecting me to follow. I guess I'm a tunneler because I'm not that easy to trick.

In all honesty I only ever purposefully tunneled when I had a laurie who's arua I could see and assumed she was using OoO. Turns out it was a bug because they didnt have the perk. They were salty til I explained.

  • This post.... not saying people are wrong because they are right. But that's the problem. Killers shouldn't be limited two one of two killers, especially when one isn't really viable on console. Also the term "nothing you can do about it" shouldn't be so frequent. Maybe that's what's upsetting killers.

  • @BlindMole said:

I blocked off all messages and friend requests because of toxic survivors, but i do miss these wholesome interactions.

I do go out of my way to often message killers just to say gg, or encourage a nurse who barely got a hook, and just a nice message to that poor rank 16 who was against all red ranks.

I know they won't be able to reply since i blocked messages but somehow i hope it brings confort or a smile to their faces, and keeps them playing the game.

I had to do the same and block messages. What did it for me was being called a camper in a completely disrespectful way because I saw a survivor crouched next to the hook I was putting some one on. Of course I went for him next. Ir was I supposed to go "nope, didnt see him."? Also in the same match i punished a quick rescue. Not my fault you didnt let me leave.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

And that, my friend, actually constitutes as 'refusing to engage in regular gameplay'.

Honestly, this game has given me the worst experience over the past few days and I've reached my breaking point with people. So we had a game on Limkin Lane against a ghostface, hes doing pretty terribly and takes a few minutes to get his first down, I kinda felt bad for him because I assumed its because of the new terrible matchmaking that either matches you with opponents that are far better than you or matches them with opponents that you destroy however thats a topic for another day. Now Im playing with 2 friends and the random gets downed and dragged to the basement. First peek in the house and we see the ghostface is camping in the house with the basement... right. Now its all well and good saying, leave that person, there is nothing you can do etc but man, its just not fun to play like that and why should a killer be entitled to one guarunteed kill every match just by downing someone once. Well, the guy plays like an ######### and we try to save the person in the basement and end up dedicating to it but its pretty hard without any communication from the random and we end up going down ourselves. I dont care that you can say, well you should bring this perk or that perk... no, the game shouldnt be based around luck if you happened to bring the right perk that counters a toxic strategy, how is it fair making a game where if you dont happen to bring the right perk you die. After post game chat and generally playing to altruistically and trying to save eachother from being camped (we got ######### over) we find out its because one of us brought a flashlight... a yellow one with no addons because they are just generally fun to use (unlike standing still at the top of the basement) and have tremendous counterplay.

The fact that the game has systems in check that can easily punish you if someone doesnt like something you do is ridiculous. Im not a game developer so I cant really suggest what would be a good fix for this other than maybe 2 exits for the basement (but then we would probably need some sort of counterbuff so it doesnt just destroy the basement) but either way its pretty dumb and just makes the game unfun. I got too heated and left after that game but it sucks, I like to play to have fun but that game was just stressful and stupid. Oh and not only that but I find it ridiculous that the game has abilities that endorse camping? Like seriously, why? The devs always seem to focus on non issues and dont fix the real problems this game has and always end up making it worse

That was a situation where someone was going to die regardless. Camping can be countered. Provied you need the right perks. 2 survivors running both bt and ds can make it happen. Me personally, I often will sacrifice my self for the team so they can make it.

  • Just be thankful it's not resident evil resistance. Not only can survivors buy healing items and weapons through out the entire match on top of finding them, but they can also respawn if you kill them.

Spend more time focusing on what you type instead of me and we wont have this issue. Or am I mistaken in how this went down? Outside of this I'm paying you no more attention.

Ps. I understood every word of slang you used. It was all just irrelevant to what I was trying to say is all. It was like going to a mechanic to have your car fixed, and they respond by talking about getting a sex change.

Why are you focused on the rank I chose to say? The implication is that regardless of rank, someone can just dip on the remaining survivors while having a selfish mentality the whole game, and that it isn't exclusive to low ranks. You're focusing on the wrong thing; the red rank part is completely irrelevant except to say that this happens at any rank and if it happens with a competent killer it's even worse for the survivors. I'll quote myself and reword it.

"You think boosted red rank Blendette is thinking about a 3 gen? Nah bih, she brought a key so she's big chilling"

    Rewording:

"All survivors should ideally be thinking about what gens they work on, so that they can strategically avoid a 3 gen. But many survivors are selfish (regardless of rank) and they are playing solely for themselves. They don't care if the end of the game is very difficult because they've planned on going for hatch since the beginning OR hiding while the rest of the team does the grunt work while they make sure they don't get caught. So they work on whatever gens are easiest for them without caring if they 3 gen the team."

Does that make more sense to you now? I used a lot of slang in my first comment which understandably may have been difficult to decipher if you aren't familiar with the terms.

You see, I'm focus on the rank because you brought it up. I was talking about gens, and you brought red ranked blendette with a key into the equation. Spend more time focusing on what you type instead of me and we wont have this issue. Or am I mistaken in how this went down? Outside of this I'm paying you no more attention.

"Also, I was able to bring a key on my first day playing after a couple matches and getting one in the bloodweb. Didnt seem to complex when I had noob status. Still doesn't."

What am I supposed to take away from this paragraph of yours? Are you saying that I should be bringing a key every match that I see a key carrying Blendette in the pre game lobby, so that I have insurance in case she abandons ship early? That's the only way I could see how I could have misunderstood whatever you were saying.

I think you might be the one who is not fully comprehending what I was saying when I brought up survivors who dont give an F about if they three gen the team. In voice comm SWF it is fairly easy to avoid a three gen, because you can let your teammates know that they should pick a different gen to work on so that it doesn't happen, but:

    1. That communication does not exist in solo queue, and even well meaning solo queue teammates can make mistakes and 3 gen- it of course should be a good advantage for the killer if that happens (and it is), but still not an automatic easy win for the killer.

    2. Random teammates (like the imaginary key carrying Blendette) often do NOT care if there is a three gen, and do not care if they screw you over in their race to finish gens so the hatch can visibly spawn and they can plan their escape (with or without a key). They're not team players, they're out for their own escape.

Also, I'm perfectly fine with this game and other games that are complex. That is completely irrelevant.

It sounds like you have a harder time dealing with the game than I do, anyway? You're weirdly defensive about how I reasonably challenged your gen regression ideas.

What you are supposed to take away is rank has nothing to do with bringing a key, which you brought up. Pay attention.

Bro what are you TALKING about??

"If one survivor can loop all gens then all 4 can" Who's running you for all the gens king??? LOL. Her point is strictly that if you nerf a side of the game based on a specific scenario that is 100% the most optimal way to play the game (Sweaty SWF) then you're not really doing any favors to the game's health.. Because obviously that is the MOST optimal way to play. The game's health is the best its ever been for sure, sorry that you struggle even during these times of MMR going against rank 16's every match running you for all the gens.

"Play a more complex game then we'll talk"

You sound like a neckbeard talking about complex games and calling people millenials ;P

Did I say someone ran me for all gens? No I did not. Though plenty of people have brought that aspect up on these forums. Evey time I turn around I'm reading about infinite loops and how easy it is for survivors to run killers. Or am I mistaken?

You are correct in that gen rushing is the most optimal way to play. However it is also true that it's heavily one sided. It's honestly the primary reason many killers play toxic because playing toxic is the only way to stop it consistantly.

Yes this game is very simplistic in its design and nature. There are plenty of games that require actual thought and effort. They also require multiple strategies, not just one be all end all.

And neckbeard? First how is that even an insult? Second, assuming that was true of me despite being clean shaven, what would that have to do with anything I have said? Hmmm? FYI, calling someone a neckbeard is a very millenial thing to do. My five year old nephew has better insults than you.

Also I'm positive that if I was completely off base, a model or dev would step in. Til they do, have a coke and a smile and stfu.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1531073#Comment_1531073

Um, what? I barely understand what you're saying LOL what are you talking about with the key part? I'M saying that if you're playing solo queue or even duo SWF, very often your teammates DON'T CARE about 3 genning because they were already planning on playing for hatch, or brought a key and WANT someone to die before all the gens are done so they can leave as soon as hatch spawns. If you haven't experienced that, it's either because you rarely ever play solo queue, or you have been VERY lucky with who you get as teammates.

If you have default gen regression, take away gen tapping, and give the killer a full 30 seconds of no gens being worked on to see that he has a great 3 gen going and can take that time to check out the surroundings or set up (in the case of killers like Hag, Trapper, etc), that's awesome for the killer but makes late game incredibly difficult for survivors on a strategy that is already very good at this point without your proposals. It's not about it barely affecting non casual, non sheep, non millennial (LMFAO) players- it's about how the average survivor lobby will have an extremely difficult time dealing with it. Also, idk how you play killer but when someone has a 3 gen going, he doesn't *usually* hard commit to chases- he defends those three gens to the best of his ability while injuring and showing he will slug injured teammates to keep pressure on gens.

Regardless, this is a pointless debate because fortunately, I would be very, very surprised if devs implemented those suggestions. If anything, the "unfinished gens are blocked by the entity for 20/30ish seconds after one is finished" sounds like a great perk idea. Having it default definitely sounds like too much to me. But I wouldn't mind it as something that takes up a perk slot.

Are you illiterate and forgetfull? You mentioned a red ranked blendette bringing a key? If you know enough to say that you know enough to understand what I said.

Try playing a more complex game than this and then we will talk.

Your ideas would make three gens nearly unwinnable unfortunately. Which you can say is fair enough, survivors got outplayed and should have tried harder not to get 3 genned, but it is very difficult to avoid a 3 gen in a 4 solo queue match, especially if the killer is setting up for a 3 gen from the very beginning. You think boosted red rank Blendette is thinking about a 3 gen? Nah bih, she brought a key so she's big chilling. Controlling for a 3 gen is a very, very good strategy and should always be something to shoot for, but it still shouldn't be an automatic win for the killer imo

This game isn't just meant to be balanced for high level or for godly SWFs, it has to be playable for the people who don't have friends to play with and thus queue up with unreliable randoms, and for mid level players.

I agree that gen speeds could have a look taken at them. At least make it easier for killer to locate at least one survivor before the first gen of the game pops. But most suggestions I see absolutely would baby killers. I'm looking forward to whatever their new upcoming early game mechanic looks like regarding gens

No they would not. I mean sure if you are a lazy player who's never played a more complex game that this. Sure if you need you hand held and wins given to you.

It's this simple, if one survivor can loop a killer while all the gens get done. Then all 4 can.

Sorry, I'm not a millenial, I'm not a casual gamer, and I'm not a mindless sheep that follows the flock.

It's absolutely gen speeds, there needs to be another objective I ended a match against a rank one Oni in less than 5 minutes today he got 2 hooks and the gate powered , BT the hooked survivor and everyone escaped , the problem is if the survivors all seperate on gens they get done too fast and you almost have to get a down in the first 40 seconds or GG because 3 gens are popping

    It's simple really.

    1. Once a gen is complete, a 30 cooldown is triggered. Gens can't be worked on for that duration. Survivors can run and hide, not a big deal. Also any other gen would be reset.

    2. Add native regression for when a gen isn't being worked on.

    3. Remove gen tapping.

  • Free to play? Dbd has price tag. At least it did when I bought it from the ps store.

i haven't play the new soul calibur but isn't Geralt of Rivia in it now too.

i miss soul calibur 2 day when we got to play as link.

Yes he's in it. He's pretty decent actually.

Well if they ever Balance Ebony and Ivory Moris then the loading screen “crashes” will stop.

Doesn’t help the fact that people who bring aforementioned offerings tend to play extremely toxic as well.

I typically wont play toxic when using a ebony mori. If its green I will usually kill the first.

However when the survivors get toxic assuming I am, then i cater to them.

  • I would love to see a werewolf killer.

True, but at least companies like Blizzard actively talk to their community.

Also I don't know what the second question means. Sorry, dude.

I agree about blizzard. Didnt say anything because people hate on them but yes, wow forums were the best I've see.

Soul calibur 6 added 2B from nier automata and she is way too over powered. Just imagine Dante from devil may cry in a fighting game being allowed to use his full potential.

  • Survivor: lithe, urban evasion, we're gonna live forever( for the bonus points honestly) and either dark intent or alert. Not the best or worst perks to use. But they do let me have a fun game.

    Killers vary.

Doctor: iron Maiden (get shocked or get exposed), distressing (bonus pointrsnfor deviousness), infectious fright ( why not make them scream more) and I tend to switch between devour hope and unrelenting.

Michael I mix it up depending on how I'm playing him.

Rin Yamaoka wasn't a bad person, The Spirit is evil because Onryo's will go out of there way not caring who gets hurt in the process to get their revenge

That why I said she isn't bad, just vengful.

Well let’s summarize what we know of each killer’s past life and determine for ourselves

    Trapper-Was manipulated by his father

Wraith-Saw his entire village get burned down and his boss was having him kill people without him knowing

hillbilly-Was hidden away from society from years by his parents cause of his appearance

nurse-wen’t insane after seeing all the messed up things in the asylum

michael-a little coo coo in the head

hag-Saw her friend die and was almost eaten by cannibals and had to be a cannibal herself in order to escape

doctor-Just wants to torture people, nothing more

huntress-Her mother died at an early age but she kills soldiers on the daily for sport

leatherface-Does what he thinks is right for his family

    freddt-pedo

amanda-Yeah she’s bad considering in the movies she didn’t give people chances to escape her traps

    clown-finger fetish

spirit-saw her mother get killed by her father and was then dismembered by him

legion-frank and julie had no problem killing people, joey hesitated, and susie definitely didn’t want to do it

plague-did what she thought was right in order to please her gods

ghostface-just your friendly neighborhood serial killer

demo-like you said, pretty much an animal that is looking for food

Oni-Yeah he killed a lot of people

deathslinger-he was poor and someone took credit for his invention so it’s understandable

pyramid head-Idk if you can really say a manifestation of someone’s guilt is bad

I'm not sure if you meant huntress was bad or not. Just under her circumstances, is she really to blame for what she became? Just imagine if Mowgli from Jungle Book never finding civilization, he'd be more or less the same.

i mean the ingame characters. are they bad persons. i would say, yes. except for the demogorgon, you can say that the killers are bad persons. the demo just wants to eat and the hooking is his normal way to harvest food.

Spirit isn't a bad person, just vengeful.

    Okay, so...

I've played DbD for about two years now. From day one I always talked about how hard the community is on the devs. I always tell people that BHVR is a small company and we need to cut them some slack, etc. I still feel this way to this day.

    HOWEVER...

It is REALLY hard to keep siding with the devs when the only thing we get, no matter how many or how severe the bugs, is, "we are looking into it. Please be patient."

Obviously this is nothing new, but I felt that it should be known that even people like me - those who are always trying to cluck some slack for the devs and BHVR - are starting to question the decision making going on with the team behind this game.

    Edit: spelling

Most companies have been this way for the longest time. As well as focusing on DLC and cosmetics as opposed to balance and fun. Not to switch topics or games, but as yourself; does 2B belong in soul calibur?
