Increasing the amount of points lost for being near hook would probs work cause sitting next to someone for 2 mins currently gives you like -10 in hunter and let’s you pip up even though I “earned it” by standing there slapping meat.
As long as the heavy penalty doesn't apply when generators are all done that might work.
Actually, there are occasions though when a survivor is super greedy and might force a chase near the hook so that isn't always the killer's fault. They would need to figure out a way to pause the point reductions when a survivor is in range or something.
-
You'll go back after you get faced camped or your teammates kill themselves on the hook don't worry. You will miss the consistent blood points even for bad matches and will run back too. I don't enjoy killer for different reasons but I do it for BP.

They kept the info about Boon Totems underwrapped while they gave us killer changes in front page. Turns out none of those killer changes matter compared to the overwhelming power of Boon Totems.
We got Jebaited. It's out fault. Pretty good Job on Ghostfaces add-on. Actually nerfing the fastest recovery time on an already weaker killer, pretty good job indeed.
I sincerely from the bottom of my heart hope Evil Dead and VHS come out really strong cause we don't deserve to be toyed with and jebaited like this everytime.
I highly doubt a majority of people in here will play VHS. As soon as they get 1v1 by one survivor they will come back to DBD and settle for the 2k no problem when it happens.

Funny how you presume so much about taking side but you are very wrong, I used to play lots of killer but have mainly switched to survivor.
But If you want a solution to camping that is a lot harder than we all know. The best in game example I can draw from is pyramid head's cages. They place the survivor somewhere away from the killer and out of sight, and if the killer gets close it moves. Obviously this is killer specific and was somehow implemented as a base mechanic with hooks. Well camping would be impossible but wouldn't be a great fix in my opinion.
Pausing the timer when the killer was near the hook failed in the past so lets just throw that out the window.
Phasing the killer to swipe air is your best bet along with at least 1 or more other survivors to rescue, potentially with BT.
The perks I mentioned before do help to some degree, but worst case is you have bubba camping so lets focus on that.
Bubba's chainsaw can be toggled until he needs to use it, baiting it out is really the only strategy as once he starts using it he cannot stop and takes a long time to recover before using it again. Trading with BT is always an option although not the best. Faking an unhook if you have dead hard or sprint burst is always an option if your brave. Anything else would require a new mechanic to be added or changed and i am honestly not sure how to go about that without it being able to be abused too much like the last one.
None of that was directed at any one person. It's very well known that the forums have more killer mains than survivors scrolling through the forums. Just look at the ratios when it comes to killer issue topics versus survivor ones. At least you're trying to think of healthy solutions and not resorting to " these are accepted killer strategies" ..
That guy above mention more BP because clearly BBQ and chili isn't enough for some people, and I'm all for that but it wouldn't completely fix the problem.
I get some of you to think I'm trying to remove a strategy but that's not the case. I'm not advocating removing proxy camping.. I'm talking full-blown face camping on killers with the ability to one-shot multiple people. Forcing healthier gameplay experienced isn't a bad thing like you guys are making it out to be. Do you guys truly believe you're not forcing your gameplay experience on the survivor sitting on the hook all game? In what world is that a healthy fun gameplay experience?
At the end of the day, I'm not sure of a perfect solution and there are no ways to test out any decent recommendations. The PTB hardly ever gets utilized as much as it should. If I manage to think of something even a majority of killers can agree with ill let you guys know.
BTW, if anyone has a video on the previous implementation of the hook timer you guys claim was in the game please shoot me a video. I took a long break from the game and didn't get to experience or hear of it. I'm still wondering if it was a thing.

You literally said…On so many occasions if a killer loses gen too quickly he instantly begins to camp his first hook.
So don’t let the Killer lose gen so quickly. It’s why everybody asks for the opposite of the End Game Collapse (that they mentioned) but have yet to see. Anyway you went from gens are too quick and killers camp to killers camp because they are bad.
so we now need a solution that makes killers ‘git gud’ instead of just fixing something you already admitted but wanna back track on lol.
Anyway, as someone else mentioned. Your hook timer use to stop when killer was camping and the end result was survivors purposely chasing themselves to the hook survivor to keep killer busy, hooked survivor alive and gens a still popping. Survivors got what they wanted and abused it~
Too quickly for them and their make-believe belief that he couldn't have done anything differently to stop that gen from going. It has nothing to do with the reality of the situation considering behavior has statistics on their end and from what I see on streams, other killers aren't having trouble getting a 4k.
This entire forum is full of mainly killer mains so there is no point in responding after this. One thing is for sure, even if gen speeds were extended a majority of you would defend face camping as you're doing now. I'm advocating for a solution that is balanced in favor of both parties. If you guys are okay with Face camping then good for you but I'm not.
-
@Baby_Victor said:
By your own logic…slow down gen speed and less/no camping. Your welcome~
wrong. You have to implement something that actually works.
Even if they slowed down Gen speed some killers would still face camp because they are bad at the game. You have to implement a fix in another way.

I personally never had such a problem, at least in your way. If i see killer does something like camping it's a win-win scenario even if I'm on hook. Cause while i buy as much time as possible, they do gens and I hope they leave killer with nothing cause they see killer is camping. (I run Kindred)
So on part where u are asking for solutions it won't work the way u think. I don't care if puppies camp me.
There is no communication in solo queue two people can stop doing gens and make their way to the hook and get nothing accomplished.
Just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean it's not happening large scale dude. And not everyone is going to be okay with sitting on a hook the entire game. A majority of those people will just not even struggle dude, cmon..
-
@Jerek said:
No. Camping is a, while scummy, but viable killer strategy. Survivors have more than enough perks to help remedy this like camaraderie, kindred, borrowed time, and several others.
And in the end the killer is giving up so much generator pressure just to maybe secure 1 kill. Besides the devs did at one point have a system where if the killer was very close to a hooked survivor the time would pause. Of course you can imagine that survivors did abuse the heck out of this and was quickly removed.
It does suck when it happens to you, but you can't forcibly change the way everyone plays constantly. It's just part of the game.
Those things only work on m1 killers and only versus very bad ones.
I wasn't around for that implementation so I can't comment on how good or bad it was. If it was active at endgame then it was implemented poorly and if the radius was too large that is bad as well. I'm talking about face camping easiest swing of your life distance that needs to be negated early game.
I'm sorry but if you have a problem with that you're part of the problem. Plenty of killers 4 k consistently without doing any of this " viable strategy" .. So basically, you're okay with sucking the enjoyment out of thousands of players to please the face camping Leatherface. Good for you man.
-
@R2k said:
There's a perk that freezes timer if your teammate is nearby. Try out Camaraderie if everyone camps u.
That's a good start but it's only active during the struggle phase and the killer can still just wait it out.
And let's be honest, who in the solo queue is going to take that perk.
-
Noed shouldn't even be in the game, it's a trash perk. So is adrenaline and every other perk that rewards bad play for pressing no key on your keyboard. We should give killers a skillcheck the size of DS to activate when all gens are done so we can all experience just how bad some people who run Noed are. If they can't even lad a skillcheck they don't deserve insta downs and free speed for failing to do their role.
And the just cleanse totems isn't an excuse for this garbage perk. Not everyone is running a full stack SWF and the RNG placement of these totems can be very bad at times. Anyone who says it's fine is mostly a killer main who rely's on it. Any decent killer hates the dam perk too.
-
DS, DH, aura reading per you prefer, healing perk, or if you're running a med-kit just use anything else you like. DS and DH are about the only two things I find mandatory when I'm playing solo queue. Sadly DH is a laggy mess and hasnt been working well lately, but I'll still take it over others because I'm too use to it.

Could it be possible that the killer saw something you didnt? I'm not saying its not possible that the killer merely didnt know when its appropriate to slug and when its a waste of time, but sometimes things like discordance lets you know when your attention is needed elsewhere to prevent a gen from popping while your busy getting to a hook.
For some matches that was definitely a possibility, but I'm 100 percent sure of a few matches that were just not even debatable. I've been left on the floor after leading the killer away from my entire team. I was basically never hooked the entire match a couple times earlier today.

Trying to bleed people out is dumb, but really...its never too early to start applying pressure. If I can get a 2nd person down, I'm not just gonna let em run along because X amount of gens havent been done yet and I'm not in a bad position yet.
I get that but I can't pretend like I haven't seen them just leave someone on the ground with absolutely no vision on another survivor. DS wasn't a factor in a majority of those I've witnessed as well. I don't mind slugging and I get it's necessary sometimes, but I don't want to see a passive unbreakable being introduced and I feel it's coming at this rate.
If it was like one time per match before a certain amount of gens are done, I guess it's fine. I just don't think a passive unbreakable is balanced after all 5 gens pop. That would be too much IMO.
-
I legit just ran into the same hacker speed hacking on killer on survivor. He and his two friends were flying in the air and teleporting to me somehow. Everytime the killer hit them they would auto heal themselves too. I'll post it here if my geoforce experience managed to capture it. I haven't checked.
-
I've run across multiple of this lately. I know what 115 looks like and its far from what i been seeing.
-
they would. I've seen multiple rank 1-3 proxy camp a hook to make it a 3v1. It's very common. If they increase gen times it would be much easier to do this.
-
I don't mind when used for pressure after a few gens go but people have been slugging on the first down. I've seen multiple bleed out at this point. It's actually insane lol

That's because most red ranks are boosted.

Exactly this. Against Solo Queue Killers are stronger than survivors. A group of friends who aren't the same rank is also favored for the killer. A SWF group of similar ranks will generally win vs a killer of the same rank. And there's quite a bit of smurfing going on in this game, but that's not a balance issue but it does lead to a bit of confusion regarding balance.
On a good map for killer even with a strong SWF they lose if equal skill. I've seen really good teams get stomped quick on certain maps. Hard to tell what will happen in matches because maps are on rotation and a majority of the map is rng.

Hey, the devs said ranks don't matter.
There are some points they don't, but for the most part at the minimum it shows they have a general idea of they are doing. I've seen level 13-20 loop better than some red ranks so it has some truth to it, but lets be real on average that is rare.

Secondary objective for survivors
Fix maps (for both sides)
Fix bugs (for both sides)
Stop balancing the game based on "new players".
If they add another objective to survivors it will make solo queue survivor a nightmare, at least on pc it will. Even with Ruin nerfed the average survivor has no idea how to loop efficiently so 80 percent of my matches are 4/3 k for mediocre killer play. Idk, if this MMR system they plan on introducing will fix it, but currently it's bad, at least compared to a few months ago.
-
Survivors are only OP versus killers with a SWF or a super efficient red rank team on a survivor favored map. Killer is not a suppressed role like people make it out to be. My solo queue survivor matches at red ranks on PC can testify to that. It's like a 80 percent favored to killers at rank 1 atm because matchmaking is so bad.
-
These forums at this point don't surprise me anymore. I doubt the OP is trolling too, he legit believes killers don't have second chance perks lol
Can we tag player accounts to forums so we can see everyones ranks on both sides. It's getting real hard to take people serious now a days.
-
Uh no. If they were to revert nurse to her previous state all you would see is Nurse on PC. We will have lack of diversity much greater than your xbox experience. At least you are seeing 3 killers currently and I find it hard to believe you only see those 3 at rank 7.
-
You need to be injured to use DH and when you do manage to use it, 90 percent of the time it fails to grant immunity period. The perk is already in a hard place because they can't get dedicated servers in a decent state.
-
Next time you make a post about game balance please add video evidence. There is no way to tell if you are lying and just bad.
-
You guys have no idea what you're asking for.. If you nerf DH people will just go for lithe or sprint burst which allows them to reach another god loop or something. Also DH requires you to be injured before using and the other perks don't. You basically get a free hit on them for not running Sprint burst or lithe and you're complaining.. Imagine that.
-
Nothing about Ruin took skill when RNG is involved. You either get 1 or 10 skill-checks sometimes more. Looking for the totem was RNG unless you had a map or detectives hunch for the most part. You could have memorized certain totem spawns, but it doesn't change the rng nature of it.
The devs basically explained this perfectly. Ruin wasn't affecting veteran players much at all, but was heavily affecting newer players. It was basically carrying killers to ranks they don't deserve for the longest time. Then these killers have to play with no Ruin and blame game balance for not being Rank 1 anymore. Welcome to DBD
-
I understand spanish and I barely understand what he is asking.
I think he is looking to find out how to complete and achievement, but I have no clue which one.
-
You were never forced to play 3 perks in the first place.. You chose ruin because you know you needed it to do well. Plenty of killers weren't running Ruin before nerf at Rank 1, please stop this baby rage. All you're gonna do is get everyone to run items to watch you lobby dodge and never get a match. You don't know the DBD community very well.
-
@Infested said:
2.4% of steam players have hit Rank 1 killer EVER in the entire time of DBD
Compared with over 4% for Survivors.
This stat shows it's almost twice as easy to get rank 1 as survivor. Game is survivor sided anyone disagreeing is kidding themselves.
Also I'm a survivor main before people start complaining
Obviously it's a 4 to 1 ratio.. I would hope the survivor percentage is a bit higher especially when there is a bug handing out rank 1 achievement at purples. This just further proves it's balanced if anything lol

I can’t stream this game because I did that to people in the past. It is lag. That isn’t what hacks look like. Also explain your knowledge on latency and internet to @Sairek please. I’m curious.
Exactly my point you're convinced and have made up your own mind so you're welcome to explain it to him yourself. Show him your video evidence too while your add it. For the third time, I'm not here to convince any of you of anything. Clearly there is a problem here no matter if it's lag or hacks. Simple.
-
Nothing will change RNG when it comes to teammates. Yes, you might get a better chance of competent teammates the higher you go, but you are also likely to get good yellows and greens who just don't play often. I've not seen a noticeable improvement in skill level the higher I got. There was like one match I can recall where someone ran a killer for a decent amount of time as well, and he was a yellow rank. Go figure..

Bait? ######### lol? How is this bait?
You claim to say you know how they work. So back it up or quit using it as evidence that you know what you're talking about. If you're going to use it as evidence, then tell us how they work according to you.
Otherwise I'm not going to believe you and neither should any one else because nobody should believe anybody who claims that they know what they're talking about and then proceeds to refuse to explain what they're talking about for no reason even though it would easily back up their claim that they're not just misunderstanding the situation, which almost everyone thinks you are. And now so do I.
I'm not here to convince you. I already told the last guy the same thing. Form your own opinion about the video and believe what you want. You are welcome to your own opinion about it because what ever I say won't matter even if it's factual. Welcome to the internet.

That seemed like cheating and not the server because he threw the pallet, stunned the Wraith, somehow got hit, and then the Wraith broke the pallet from the other side and had to come around to pick him up. But then again I played a match against a really sketchy doc that seemed to glitch closer during chases but he hit me once and it caused me to do the glitch. I just kept running and watched him lose so much ground. I thought it was hilarious so I just kept running all the way around the map, glitch running about 20% faster than a normal speed but it went away as soon as I stopped. It was weird because I don't know how to hack and it looked like I was hacking and the killer didn't even bring it up post game? Maybe his glitch hack was contagious, lol
I didn't even stun the wraith I knew something was up on the first hit and put the pallet down extremely early to confirm my suspicion. The wraith basically hits me from the other side of the wall, Lol. At least you ain't buying this, it's just my connection nonsense when everyone in the lobby experienced the same thing.

My previous statement stands. I know how latency works nor is it my connection. I made that statement because there really is no point in convincing you otherwise, right? @Regionlock I agree with you trust me 😂 I was just making a joke, the way I stay sane when playing the game is just saying the devs feel bad for the killer so they f with my signal lool, if I saved my game I would of clipped it here, had a ghost face on lerys, chasing round gens geting done one gen left I start lagging when then past 5 mins there has been no such thing I vaulted a window took 4 steps ran out a door and I got slapped and went down ... I spin my camera the killer is still at the window .... he wasn’t even close to the window that’s what made it worst so believe you I understand 😂 I see a Killer I start running gain distance it pushes me back I’m in his face and I get hit ..... I vaulted a window and was on the window for around 5 seconds stuck in place I then went down from a invisable killer, now I have a Ethernet cable and the best internet so I no it’s not my side and I doubt it’s servers as this would happen ever game it only seems to happen when the killer is geting heavily **** on
your video made me so happy that’s literally what I Experience so happy it’s not just me lol
Oh, I knew you agreed with me 😀 And I know it's not my connection either as I got 1G living in a major city in the west coast. I'm not in the boonies to believe these are convenient lag spikes that are happening to me at the end of chases after a few gens get done 😂 The level of teleport I got on the trapper one I didn't manage to capture on video was worthy of a full disconnect if it was my connection. I basically ended up exactly on a hook crossmap where he was, when I was at the completely opposite side of the map healing to push the gate😂 Just a coincidence that I teleport to a hook to die, only me😂

Even if this is just dedicated servers like you all seem to think, than it clearly needs to be addressed, right? Am I suppose to pretend it's not happening? This never happened to me when dedicated first came out and they had way more issues before, but if it's the dedicated servers than they need to address the situation because it's bad. We all experienced that in the match.

The wraith footage I managed to capture completely and it was happening to everyone so I doubt the server felt bad for them. For the trapper it was after I ran him for a few that it started happening so I guess it applies there lol. Conveniently only happened at the right times for him, imagine that... Everyone here can believe what ever they want tho, it's pretty obvious there exploiting to me.
-
If you actually believe that's my connection you are beyond convincing. My recorder is dodoo, it's not my connection. Everyone in those videos had the same experience with the killers. It's like trying to convince the hackers or lagswitchers themselves in these forums, lol.
What do you guys want to see endgame discussion of all of us discussing how toxic the hacker is as well? You guys are delusional and beyond convincing if you think I was the only one experiencing the fucken 20 mile away kobe swings. Get real kid.

Also, online in console is ALWAYS laggy as hell. Feelsbadman
dude, that was on PC.
-
I for the most part play exclusively solo queue and I can tell you that rank means nothing, nor is it entirely easy to pip as survivor. It's all RNG because the killer can tunnel you for about 5+ min and eventually kill you and your team can let you be one hooked. That's a depip that wasn't your fault, and you actually did more than them, but they escape.
Also there are plenty scenarios where you do the same and never get to touch a Gen or do anything because the killer is an actual bot, but you will get nothing from the match for escaping. At best you black pip for running him around. I've had multiple matches that end this way, where the killer was just hard tunneled and I black pip. I've gave up caring about ranks and just do rifts or try new things at this point.

Well that's why I don't ever play FPS games on the PC. I know better than that. But I play on both platforms, and can say the only hackers I have ever seen on PC were spirits and nurses who magically teleported straight onto my head without having any vision of me whatsoever. It was especially obvious with the nurses.
let me get this straight... You can't explain a Nurse or spirit teleporting ontop on you, which is their abilities, but you sum up my vids to lag... Alright, im done here. Have a nice day.
-
I don't respect your opinion either and neither do many other players. I've seen no issue with good killers getting 4ks and average killers are still somehow pulling them out after multiple mistakes. I've come to the realization if you're not running a SWF sweat group you just lose to any actual rank 1 killer. I'm not talking about babies who cry about Ruin level skill killers, im talking about people who actually deserve rank 1.

I have godly internet, 100+ MB/s downloads, and still get red ping lobbies when I play DBD on my xbox. It doesn't matter how good your connection is if the other persons connection is from walmart.
I have only seen a handful of blatant hackers in the game, and they were all playing spirit or nurse. Why have to do some laggy ass hits from 20m away, which I have only seen in 1-2 games in like 2k hours, when you can just teleport perfectly on top of peoples heads?
oh, you're on Xbox dude... This doesn't apply to you, it's extremely rare for anyone to hack on console compared to PC. It's why COD or certain shooters even do well on console, because they don't have to deal with PC cheaters.

Yeah, before dedicated servers, half of the lobbies I joined were red ping because there is no such thing as lag.
so you're benefiting from these servers? Because by the looks of the defense here, it's that laggy players are in the future on the servers. I need to just put TTV or something in my name to detour ppl from lag switching or hacking. This is actually laughable that people actually think these videos can be explained away by dedicated servers. I might as well quit again till they get their game straightened out.

There have also been times where I literally could not die on the hook, and my camera switched to the killers shoulder for like 10 minutes, making the game impossible to end, until I decided to DC.
You overestimate this game.
I've never had issues like that even when dedicated servers were at their worst during the surprise testing. The worst I've seen is the vaulting window hits that shouldn't have landed, so idk. Might be a location thing, im in the west coast and have the best internet I can have in this Internet monopoly which locks providers to locations, sadly.

ROFL. that's not a dedicated server problem. How can you explain the wraith footage as a dedicated server problem? And the trapper teleported me to him near a hook on the second down he got on me after all the gens were done, he just wanted me. No way it was that convenient of a lag spike to happen to me specifically. I was the only one running him around on the team so he wanted me dead.
