You ever watch a live stream or YT video where the lighting, textures, and particle effects look weird? That's what I'm getting at, where people go into the game files and manually tweak every setting there is. It makes the game quite ugly and I cringe every time I see it.
There are things you can do to mitigate disadvantages, then there's being cheap. This is clearly an unintended use of the graphics, right? There are things that are hard to see for a reason.
Trash PC? Colorblind? Poor eyesight? Not so big a deal for those people who could really use a little help, but for most it's an unfair advantage.
Maybe someone can help me see this in a different Light?
Lol. I want a brighter more colorful looking game and as someone else here said its not file editing its geforce's graphics filter for people with the nvidia graphics cards

I think billy should suffer more with the overheat mechanic. I do like that he can't spam it but at the same time based on what people are saying he can still spam it to go across the map and down people as he has been he just can't spam it constantly in a chase with someone. All the killers seem to have a downside or cooldown to their power and its unfair to me that he still basically has none. Legion gets a bigger cooldown but their power is just a tool to injure people and not down them instantly. The leatherface stuff seems fine minus how far his power goes now. Maybe it was an addon but i don't think he should be going the distance he is going with his chainsaw it feels difficult enough to try and dodge if you don't have a window it shouldnt be taking him from shack all the way to a different tile set outside across from it. Personally though i feel like they ignore the harder to tackle problems till they feel like it or a ton of the community complains about it like the Spirit situation.

Do you even play your own game? Sitting directly under the pallet is the worst place to be for everyone on your team. Any good player and good streamer says the same thing. It makes for mistakes such as the healing survivor pulling down the pallet instead of healing and drawing the killer back. I meant to say that if another survivor draws the killer away you need to move to one side of the pallet so you can be healed up. Of the killer comes back you are still close enough to the pallet for a pallet save and it makes sure the healer doesn't accident drop the pallet trying to get you up.
You're wrong the dev is right. You play on console and is only a console problem its not a problem on pc and if you actually just stand there and wait or move around a little for the prompt to change it will go to heal. So hush

It's not just about me. It about how the player base is going to react to the changes as a whole.
There are going to be loads of killers that will dodge lobbies due to one reason or another, due to what killer they are playing compared to what they are up against. In turn, this will only increase wait times for survivors and killers. Not to mention, this will also decrease killer variety. This change will effect everyone, survivor and killer alike.
You shouldn't ever need to dodge a lobby. Putting a system in place that may force a player to do so is not a good thing.
Please read the post as a whole instead of picking selective sentences which is barely a fragment of the point i am making.
If you dodge a lobby as a killer regardless of the reason you're just a baby. Don't like them using items then bring franklin's demise and its dealt with.

She is definitely never getting a nerf so...i think that'd say enough about her base kit being fine. I don't mind iri head because you get 3 max and you've gotta actually hit it.

Overall I've had little issues avoiding nurses unless they're really good, most of them are still learning at some point and mostly confuse themselves when they cannot see you or you run into a big building with multiple paths, you just gotta play tricky as soon as you lose her, Quick and quiet can also help you at times like those if you feel like using it.
thank you :)

She has chase counterplay (and a few others), it's called breaking LOS and gaining distance forcing her to make educated guess on where to blink which you can predict as well. Ofc if you're in the open and close to her you're dead meat so evade situations where you'd be in the open vs her as much as possible.
She's one of the few high tier killers you don't want to be close to you which is what makes her fun to vs, she's not to be messed with and requires different playstyle then other loopable killers.
funny enough not once did i think to try stealth..thanks for that :)

On an open map like auto-haven, against a good Nurse yeah shes extremely deadly.
I’m not sure how you could nerf her any further at this point though without making her unplayable
Yeah that's why im not saying nerf. A nerf on the good nurse mains would probably not do much but for everyone else it'd be terrible. I just don't think she is really a fair killer on the lower skilled end of playing her nor on the high end for survivors but idk.

I think your problem is you try to juke her the same way every time, assuming she won't see it coming after the first time.
Sometimes thats it but i usually try to outplay her the way i do other killers but i can never tell if when i get caught i can never tell if they just got lucky with teleporting wrong or if they knew what i was gonna do but the open maps don't make it any better.

I am quite happy to see the amount of discussion this has raised. I think I should provide my more detailed take on the Noed since people are this interested to discuss the perk based on a quick off the lip opinion.
I think Noed is a great way to punish gen rushing, I think that's its purpose just like ds's purpose is to prevent tunneling. Noed is not there without a purpose just to offer free hooks. The whole existence of noed perk makes some people cleanse totems just like ds makes some killers not pick the survivor even if they don't run ds, out of the sheer fear of not wanting to eat it. This is powerful psychological tool to make survivors want to cleanse the totems... also, it gives good amount of blood points so it's not entirely wasted time even if the killer ends up not having it.
However! I do not think the perk is perfect, not in the slightest. It has so much more potential to be tweaked to something more balanced that will please both sides, killers and survivors. I don't know how exactly, but that's for the devs to figure out.
In a perfect world i'd say its fine, but we have camping killers and we have ebony mories. Mories just need a rework, but my idea was to make it require all four survs to be hooked once to not allow the perk to work for camping killers that rely on it. I've had too many games lately where the killer camped most lately with a hag that placed like 5 traps and they'd stay walking in and out of the room patrolling the hook and they did it for the two people all gens done noed pops, down chased surv down surv at gate easy 4k. That playstyle shouldnt be allowed because its completely unfair especially with a killer like hag. You gen rush to avoid the camping but then you get punished by noed existing and its incredibly unfair in those situations. The perk in other situations will be the same as it is now.
-
@Peanits said:
I have the same thoughts about it for the most part, although there are some very valid points out there. Namely:
- It's way harder to deal with solo where you can't ask the other people how many totems they did.
- The 'counter' to camping is to do gens and leave, but if you do that, you aren't cleansing totems and you risk a second person dying to NOED.
Granted neither of those are really unsolvable issues, the latter being fairly rare in my experience, but they are very fair points and I don't think they should be completely ignored just because you're alright with the way it works.
the solution is to rework the perk to not activate just because gens are done and totems are active. There needs to be another prerequisite. Played many games with killers that camp each survivor they catch and then gens are done and they have a 1 or 2k and then they slug with noed and get the last two kills because you guys allow the perk to exist as is. CHANGE IT for the better of this game because it ruins this game's experience. Just make it require all four survivors to be hooked and the totems and then the toxic camping people that use it have to adapt. You guys have expressed not wanting camping to be desirable and punish the killer's points for it but its not doing anything. Making it require each person be hooked won't affect killers that play effectively because they'll get the four hooks but killers who camp the whole game won't benefit from it and will be further punished for their bullshit strategy that works because you have this perk that helps encourage it.
Survivors will have to continue doing totems, BUT killers will have to do something other than having the perk equipped or guarding totems. It will force them to hook survivors which is their goal to pressure them. Yes camping can be a legitimate strategy , but when its their only strategy and they do it the entire game what are the survivors not in a coordinated swf supposed to do?? They just lose and it turns people away from this game.
-
depends. If you wanna challenge or torture yourself then go with legion who i main. If you want a good killer then spirit

And that should be the task for the devs to find a way to give killer not the feeling they need to get always 4k! It’s unrealistic for a killer to get always 4k cause this would mean that survivor have zero chance to escape and it would be frustrating for survivors. But as long killer thinking they need 4k it’s for them very frustrating and they asks for survivor nerfs, play in a tryhard way and they feels always as a looser... that’s not fair and makes the game unfun.
You're right but hell i don't feel accomplished if i can't 4k. Which makes the game start to not feel fun especially when you have survivors that like to taunt you and talk massive amounts of ######### in the end game. Playing survivor generally feels fun if you loop the killer for a while or even if you're the only escape. Its just fun killer isn't if you don't get the 4k and sometimes it even then feels like it took so much work that its not fun to play especially if you don't main a top tier killer

2k is balanced. It's how the game should basically be.
I don't really disagree but if i don't 4k then i could've done better.
-
@ich_häng_mal_rum said:
The point is that I don’t understand those player who expect 4k every game and crys for survivor nerfs...
Swfs are part of the game and the devs know that. But I think a killer on a same skill level will still gets in total of all the matches his 2k, sure there are matches without a kill but in others he will gets 4k, so it’s fine.
A lot of killer are just frustrated cause they think they need always 4k and that’s the issue.
If I don't 4k then I'm garbage at the killer I'm playing and need to improve. I will not accept a 2k as a win if anything that is a tie to me. Side note I'm garbage at most of the killers.
-
This game isn't balanced. Probably never will be. Getting 2 kills doesn't say that the game is balanced. I can camp two survivors and get those kills. Maps affect everything between people knowing some layouts better than others and the loops available. So much in this game affects those stats and in my opinion if the really wanted the balance then killers would need more nerds to make it closer to 50/50 in all ranks.
-
No vault animation...?? She got one so long ago..
-
That rework idea sounds terrible especially for what the perk was originally meant for and is used for. If you got hit with it four times you're tunneling, or the survs are bad and you're doing so well you just get forced to eat the DS. Thanks to the timer. I think giving DS a timer was a bad idea anyway. I think it should've stayed as it was, or it should've been changed to be strictly an anti tunnel perk. If the killer is around when you get unhooked it activates and there is no skill check you just get off. The counter to it as a killer being just don't camp or be coming back to the hook when they're unhooked or run insidious.
-
Any combo. Would avoid that mode like it was the plague.
-
But, indoor maps I hate, deathslinger, Oni, I love him but Freddy got too much on his rework, camping killers, killers that tunnel the easiest survivor, camping ghost face, People that don't cleanse totems, survs that blindly drop pallets, ebony mori, getting tunneled to be moried after first hook, getting left in basement on first hook when the killer isn't camping. Probably much more, though back to that last thing you leave me to go into struggle on first hook have fun with your 3 player game. Rather get my quick death over with now and move on instead of risking the killer knocking me back down to be killed and I get the depip anyway.

killers love throwing around the word unfun as a means to justify "changes" for some some survivors.
Well then, I think it's just fair we also enlight'em on all the things that are really "unfun" to go against as survivors.
I'll start the list.
- Legion like holy f**k
Hey hey... Hey... You watch your mouth. We suck already. Although trying to play Legion while respecting survivors and their fun usually leads to losing because their power is such a joke. I can not spam it and be m1 and waste time trying to use it as intended and get tea bagging survivors in the end with maybe 1 kill, or if I wanna be sure I get at least 3 I spam Feral with slow add ons and use slow perks and pop or any combo of making things take longer for survivors. It's def not fun for them and it gets old being able to only use certain things if I'm playing to rank up or do well.
-
I don't know. I'd say just try to force them to break a pallet or use their power to make them lose it. Though I get the frustration. Got bloodlusted by a hag, but I could've just gone to a pallet but the windows were too tempting.
-
Get over it. Nurse got her nerf to make her require actual skill and knowledge of how she works. Now Billy will too. All the freedom Billy has had for years of running across the map getting up onto a survivor and downing them almost for free with chainsaw with no repercussions for over use or spam of chainsaw. It was bound to happen. Kind of funny though had a friend say survivors need a buff and Billy needed a nerf. ( He's not that good and is aware, but we got stomped by a billy) told him if anything Billy would get nerfed is he'd get a cool down on chainsaw. Seeing it happen now is beautiful honestly. Didn't expect the leather face buffs and rework.

A "Crutch" perk that you can disable early on in the game. If you've made comebacks without NOED, that insinuates you're not a bad player. So if you include NOED into your build, how does that suddenly make you a bad player? And from the sound of it, you just seem to hate one-hit knockdown things anyways. Does that mean Devour Hope, Rancor, Make Your Choice, Haunted Ground and Iron Maiden are bad/clutch perks too? Not even including the insta-down Killers either.
You also do realize that the average BHVR is looking for are 2k games? So if you've done your job right and got 2 people killed by the time all Gens popped, you've done your job as a Killer and you weren't bad. So what's the issue with having NOED for the final 2 assuming they haven't disabled it or don't escape?
That's fair but I just don't think it should keep everyone exposed the whole time. And no I don't hate or dislike the other one hit perks. The only one I feel can't be countered outside of just looping is rancor. But I don't really hate noed either and I only see it if I'm playing with lower ranks most times or with my two friends because they don't cleanse totems for #########. It just seems like some killers rely to heavily on it is why I'm thinking a rework to let the one hit be only once or twice per survivor instead of permanent.

I don't see a problem with that, as long as it stays an effective counter to Adrenaline!
Personally I prefer dropping them when gens are done and slapping them down immediately. I get a laugh and they don't get a full heal
-
@Desh said:
You know the concept and logic of what people perceive NOED to be is just ridiculous. If I as a Killer ran NOED in my build, but I never got to EGC to use it, does that make me a bad Killer? If my build was purposefully meant for endgame and it included NOED, does that make me a bad Killer?
I've seen so many rebounds when all Gens popped WITHOUT NOED being used that it amazes me when someone does finally equip NOED, they are suddenly a bad Killer because they couldn't get hooks or kills before when others did the same exact thing but without that perk equipped lol.
Well with noed it says you had a crutch. It's the same as when you have a survivor escape and try to call you trash but all of their parks were crutch perks. I've made comebacks without noed. Which shows you can capitalize on their mistakes or rely on things that aren't one hit knockdown related.

I wouldn't mind making it so you have to hook all survivors to get it to activate tbh. Or all survivors who have been hooked once are affected by it at the end

@SlingerKing said:
Sure let's go ahead and Nerf noed. But only if decisive strike now solely Works only for the obsession. In other words if you're not the obsession your DS doesn't activate ever.
Not sure why you're comparing noed to ds. DS lets you save yourself from a killer one time whether its at the start middle or end of a game or fail trying rendering it a useless perk. NOED lets you possibly get a 4k at the end of the game, or get a little use or no use out of it basically useless but the turnouts are not even close to the payouts one can give over the other.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/164418/noed-needs-to-be-reworked
Cleanse totems and boom rework done right. After so many noed plays surv started to cleanse totems just to be safe similar as ds perk for killers. So if they rework noed then ds should be reworked too. Also many still wan't to swarm the gens and tilting killers cz of that while forgoting for noed and when noed comes to play booohooo hooo no fair perk. And so on. Instead of playing m1 simulator get into the map run with killer and cleanse totems...
a bit snarky there, but again i play killer too i know what you mean and im saying an actual good rework not a nerf to allow survivors to gen rush with no fear or drawback i play legion i need all the gen stalling i can get xD. I can link the rework suggestion that the king made so i don't have to try and explain it all here.
-
@Hippie said:
Honestly, NOED really isn't that bad. It takes 12 seconds to cleanse a totem, meaning that all 4 Survivors could spend about 30 seconds not doing gens and have all totems cleansed. If I'm scared of NOED (which I rarely see in the higher ranks), I just spend a little bit of time looking for all of the totems and wiping them out at the start, and it really doesn't take too long. You can even take in a rainbow map with range addons for good measure.
The only NOED users I'm scared of are the GOOD players who use it.... truly, no one escapes death against those gamers (haha). However, I think NOED is perfectly fine. It can be rendered useless before the end-game and it can still be cleansed once activated as well. It's also basically a counter of sorts to Adrenaline, which can't be cleansed and is guaranteed to activate once all gens are done/hatch is shut.
I use to feel that way too but that's why i suggested the rework that the king came up with in his video. The one shot effect would still take place in normal games where the survivors don't cleanse totems but they'd be limited to only one insta down per survivor essentially. So it still punishes them but its not a perk to carry a killer that plays bad or makes bad plays or doesnt pressure enough.
-
@LALYTHIA said:
You could say it rewards a Killer for not doing their job.
Or you could say it penalizes Survivors for not doing their secondary objective.
Personally, when NOED goes off (and especially if it hits me), I am typically pissed at my team - not the Killer. I tend to get at least 2 totems in a match. So if no one else does their part and we get hit with NOED, thats a survivor problem.
The only caveat to this are people who camp and force genrush. Those people have a special place in hell.
Yeah thats why i don't want to gut it because it checks survivors that do nothing but gens but i bring it up specifically for those killers that rely on it. Especially the ones that camp and then benefit from survivors gen rushing to avoid being face camped only to be hit with noed.

Not even sure how or why this is a complaint. You did challenges and are almost done. What's the issue? You like the game just play it and you'll finish it. I was at 60+ without tome 4 tome is only about half done for me if even and I'm done with the pass.

No, I didn’t join the community until they announced Deathslinger (who I was very excited about) and managed to nab this name. Now I just occasionally make a joke with it. Also, I know your feeling cheated by him right now, but we all play this game at different skill levels and amount of experience and DbD is a unique game that has very polar opposite reactions depending where you are on the spectrum.
Cold hard truth is my favorite killer has more baggage then most other killers and struggles in a lot of areas. At this point, most people play him for the ‘fun’ and not the win. I may enjoy running and gunning and nabbing a ‘fun’ shot but then I gotta watch all my gen pops and wave at the survivors leaving lol.
Once you understand him a lil better and practice anything other then (run straight), you’ll find him less threatening. Promise.
Usually my zigzagging just gets me slapped xD, but i appreciate the respectful response. I don't see him as often as i would expect. I think i'll just play him some more instead. My initial thoughts have been he's really good and fun but i myself don't play him enough to be good. probably learn more that way.

Hahahaha wow no.
Line of sight blockers. One of the slowest killers in the game.
If the terror radius bothers you run spine chill.
Adapt or learn that you will not win many matches if you refuse to learn or understand how to counter then.
I mainly play survivor btw. 😘
Hmm Certain maps make it really hard to use los blockers and at some point i have to go towards a pallet or window and then if he isn't shaky or bad he shouldn't miss. That's my issue. The projectile is too fast to react to or predict with hit detection being on his side.

When did they confirm that they’re planning to remove perk tiers? Do you have a screenshot or a link?
I'll try to find it but it's been a minute since it was brought up. I believe it was in a dev stream or a "The King" video when he was interviewing Matthew
Edit: Yeah I think it was in a dev stream someone had asked if perk tiers would be removed due to how many perks there are in game already but it was a few months ago so it's probably not high on the priority list. If I figure out which one it is I'll start a new comment to you and link it.
