You would think person A because of the faster travel, and on dbd that would be right 7 or 8 times out of 10.
BUT my thoughts would be that Person B had a better shot at finding what they were looking for, due to these reasons
- Moving Slower and more cautiously see more time to assess the surrounding area
- With Person A going faster with no need to be cautious and also looking out for person B to kill them means they are not paying attention to finding what they are looking for as much as person B would be doing.
Thats what poped into my head... so yeah.. Person B should have a better chance
(I'll prob see other peoples responses and be like oh yeah but still)
I get what you're saying but as long as you have a decent pair of headphones, you don't really have to pay much attention to anything at that point besides listening for that hatch sound. And the only reason to not look for hatch at that point is if you visually see the survivor or their scratch marks
-
@Cheers said:
Are they both wearing masks due to corona?
If they know what's good for them. Probably not though because Person A already didn't care about the 6 feet rule when they killed all of Person B's friends. And Person B was going around touching other things that other people touched, probably at the same time.
-
@Terro said:
You also have to point out that person b is solely looking for the item and person A is wearing a bike helmet while looking for both.
Yeah, that bike helmet is a pain in the ass, but it doesn't affect their hearing

Well A technically, although B gets a head start. A also for some reason decided to kill his and Bs 3 friends who were also looking for the same thing. He clearly has anger issues.
LOL clearly XD

Hatch and NOED both reward playing badly, cancelling each other out. Hatch rewards the survivor for not saving on hook, NOED rewards the killer for letting gens fly. I think, if hatch exists, NOED be basekit when there is only one survivor left. These 2 things cancel each other out.
Ummm no. That's not how that works. lol
Hatch does not reward for not saving on hook. Hatch is a way to end the game, either by the killer finding it and closing it, or giving the survivor a last hope of escaping.
There are very few scenarios where the killer closes the hatch and survivor somehow manages to open a door.

I love how this is always the first response. "MORIS NEED TO GET CHANGED TOO!!!".
I'm not gonna disagree, but this thread's topic is keys, not moris. Stop trying to turn it into us vs them.
Find a thread about changing Moris and tell me the first response isn't "KEYS NEED TO GET CHANGED TOO!!!"
Because I promise you it happens the same way on both sides. Although the Devs have already said they're looking into both but that's not going to stop this whiny community from complaining about it anyway

In identity V crows alert inactive survivors, also if the survivor would not be doing his objective (gens) then it would be considered holding the game hostage as 2 survivors already can do this and it's bannable.
DBD has the crows for inactive players also.....

Uh yeah, ask killer players if they want the hatch or if they'd give it up, then come again how the hatch is a free kill ROFL. Good luck to the survivor on finishing gens alone without a hatch, THAT would be basically a free kill.
The only reason why killerplayers would want the hatch to exist is because the game would be ######### dead without it.
Actually most killers love that the hatch exist. You know why? Because if there was no hatch, the last survivor would literally just play hide and seek because they have no chance of winning. Why the hell would they attempt to do gens if there's 3 gens remaining and everyone is dead?
The hatch prevents a neverending match

hatch is a killer favoured design LOL, you heard it here now folks. Wake me up when I can kill survivors by using the hatch.
What does being able to kill someone with something have to do with the argument being presented? Nice straw man argument attempt.
Let me break it down even more since you seem to be misinterpreting something I'm saying (either purposefully or you're just dense)
Person A and Person B are both in a race to find the same thing.
Person A has a bike. Person B is walking. Who has the better chance of reaching the destination first?
Let's add to that.
Person A has a weapon in their hands and is actively trying to kill Person B. Person B still has to get to the thing before Person A but they also have to avoid person A and not die. Who has the better chance of reaching the destination first?
Nothing I'm saying is controversial or complicated. Basic math and common sense is why hatch spawn is inherently killer favored.

How the hell is hatch a killer favored mechanic when it literally gives survivors a win, someone explain to me please! 😂
So what if killer gets even more fast and et cetra, survivors get a huge advantage (free win) why can't killers also have it for playing poorly?!
Your argument is invalid because it is not a "free win". You have to find it before the killer who is faster than you and have powers. If the killer finds it first, it's pretty much a loss because the gates are almost always on the same side of the map.
Then if you have Whispers on, that makes the search even easier.
-
You ever been chased by a Doctor while looking for hatch? I damn near ran over it and still didn't hear it. If I didn't visually see it, I would not have lived
-
lol what?
That's not even comparable. NOED gives a speedboost to a killer who is already by default, faster than the survivor. And that's not taking into account Cloaked Wraith, Phasing Spirit, Chainsaw running Billy, or Blinking Nurse
Hatch is a killer favored mechanic unless the survivor already knows where it is. If both players are searching for it, the faster character (the Killer) has RNG in their favor.
That's not even including the fact that the survivor has to hide if the killer is near them so they don't get found. The killer just needs to circle the map with no fear
-
The numbers are definitely off because I definitely consider myself far above potato, but I'm not in the top 5% of players. Maybe top 20-25% if I'm being generous
-
Depends on the challenge. The grindy ones are boring like, Hook 20 survivors. That's a minimum of 5 matches if you catch all 4 each match. No challenge should take more than 3 matches to complete or it's just a nuisance.
-
Nothing needs to be done. Just play and don't be a punk.
I play killer the same way whether there's no items in play or 4 people with items. Be happy you can adjust your build at all. When I play survivor, I can't be like "oh... the killer is a Hag, let me switch to a flashlight" or "Oh, it's a Plague, so my altruism build (We'll Make It, For the People, Borrowed Time, Inner Strength) is pretty much useless.
If anything, the lobby should be removed altogether so the killer just has to decide what perks they want beforehand and go in the same way survivors do
-
It's hilarious how when someone makes the claim that their killer games are relatively easy, everyone assumes that this person has played against nothing but potatoes (I mean do yall really believe that? What are the chances?)
-
Congrats. Now get them all to prestige 3 and do it again XD

2 or 3 man SWF actually balances the game.

No...... because Moris are always OP and unfun.
SWF groups can be total trash and easy games. In fact, I'd argue most of them are
-
Feng because Bunny.
Or if you have Jane, choose her for..... well you know XD
-
Yeah, I think you read it wrong.
I'm pretty sure it just means to prevent all 5 gens from being done. Meaning if you kill them all before the gates are powered, you did it.
-
I play both sides but main survivor and I would definitely say Huntress is my favorite killer to go against, hands down. Iri Head is the only thing they need to get rid of.
Oh and exhaustion hatchets because that's just rude. Don't do that :(

I kinda get what you're saying, but it is still so annoying to succesfully track down and kill 3 survivors, only for one survivor who did nothing but camp the hatch all game to escape.
You literally can't camp hatch all game because it doesn't even spawn on the map until certain conditions are met (either 1 person is left, or multiple gens have been completed and a couple of people have died)
Either way, it only comes into play late in the game and there's plenty of times where I was the one who got hatch AND I did most of the work on the team.
-
Bubba's chainsaw never went through lockers, you probably just got BS hits on people jumping into lockers that shouldn't have connected but hitboxes are killer favored so you "got the hit" before they even went in which is why the fell out of the locker.
If you tried to chainsaw someone who was already inside a locker, it would never hit them.
-
I feel this struggle so much. Sometimes I try to heal someone who is laying under a pallet but then i just slam the pallet on top of them and waste it.
On a similar note, it's annoying when things like totems and pallets are right beside each other and you try to break a totem but end up slamming the pallet. Or when you go to vault a window in chase but you hop in a locker that's beside the window XD
-
Y..... NO
Like someone said earlier, I have a laptop and my mic is always actuve. I'm not going to deactivate it to play a game.
Also I stream every now and then and again....my mic is on. So basically my aura would always be revealed because I'm reading my chat or my brother is talking to me or my niece is crying or.....
Try again

why is huntress better in your opinion if you feel so strongly about it
Pretty much every comment after you explained it. She can down from range. If you've ever watched a really good Huntress on stream, she can make snipes and down people across the map. Just the threat of her winding up her hatchet can pressure multiple survivors in an area. She can shut down the killer shack loop.
Overall her skill ceiling is just so much higher. Also it's just my personal opinion that Deathslinger is boring and everyone who plays him plays scummy but that's my personal beef
-
Are people really trying to argue that Huntress is beneath that trash can of a killer who is really only good because he has a bs terribly small terror radius that should be larger?
-
For Altruism (which is my main build)
We'll Make It, Borrowed Time (If you had For the People, I would suggest that but you didn't list Zarina)
and then anything for your 4th slot. Botany is kinda redundant if you have We'll Make It and For the People XD
-
@Yamaoka said:
Yes, Huntress is very strong as she can zone and down survivors from high distances, ignore pallets/windows to a certain degree allowing her to shut down even very strong loops like the killer shack and if you bump into her after a red glow mindgame she can go for the famous M2+M1 combo which is pretty much like an instadown.
However the clip you posted is about the worst example when it comes to showcasing her strength because these survivors were playing like... No, I'm not even going to call them potatoes because that would be kinda disrespectful towards potatoes.
She hooked Claudette and all 3 survivors were at the same spot yet NONE of them were ready for BBQ throws despite hearing Huntress' global full-windup animation and even when they got hit Nea started Self Caring on the spot instead of leaving which resulted in a quick 2nd hit via Nurse's Calling. Ace decided to not react at all and just walked against the wall for several seconds like a confused new player instead of just leaving even after Nea had gotten downed and the 3rd survivors didn't look behind them allowing for easy ranged hits.
The survivors in this case definitely didn't play it right for sure. You could argue that they didn't know she had Nurses Calling and thought they were safe on the second hit. The ace was definitely a noob or very confused. That last hit....i don't even know how she got. I'm still trying to figure out because there was no line of sight to make that shot.
But those things aside, my point still stands that no other killer could have made that play happen at all. A nurse with Infectious Fright might have been able to pull it off, but that's about it
-
This list is pretty much accurate although I would move Myers up 1 or 2 tiers due to the fact that you have to be strategic about who you stalk and when.
Ghostface definitely belong in bottom tier because he has no terror radius in sneak mode and the mechanic to get him out of it is broken as hell. I'll be staring right at him and center my camera and he won't get revealed until I'm exposed most of the time.
Spirit is pretty much uncounterable, especially if they have Stridor.
And Legion is just braindead, killing machine. Chase and stab and be as annoying as possible
I would also move Deathslinger down a tier because the amount of area control he has while having such a stupidly small terror radius honestly irritates me.
-
@ClickyClicky said:
Yeah in optimal settings she’s a beast. Shame that some maps limit her potential.
Of course. But there's only like 4 indoor maps?
On pretty much any outdoor map with open space like this, all a really skilled Huntress player needs is a good BBQ and Chili read, a little Nurses calling, and some amazing accuracy and you have what happened in that clip. No other killer can pressure an entire team that well from that distance
-
The most fun part of the game is breaking ankles for me which you can only do on the survivor side. Pulling off a great mindgame and having the killer running around looking for you is hilarious. Or faking a pallet vault and watching them backpedal for no reason. Those are the moments I live for in the game.
Sure the killer can mindgame too but when I play killer, I have all the power in a chase and it's not a matter of IF I catch them, but when.
-
This has to be a troll post or you just feel like complaining. Of course Billy's run BBQ. There's no reason not to and he's the killer who can capitalize on it the best, even better than the nurse if the map is not indoors
-
I don't use either, but there are so many matches where I was like "damn, I wish I had decisive because I'm getting hard tunneled"
I laugh when my teammates complain about dead hard not working or being exhausted from using dead hard but still ending up on the ground because the perk has been unreliable for a long time now. I won't ever use it unless I have to for a challenge
-
I understand why people do it, but it's hella annoying when I struggle on first hook because someone walked 3/4 the way across a huge map just to save their sprint burst and the killer was nowhere near me.
-
@goatslinger said:
I have to disagree for the main reason of it still remains that on most maps, if survivors split up and focus strictly on gens the game is almost over before the first hook can even take place. This is why people saying "just pressure gens" is silly and why I do think gen rushing is a thing and honestly I hate noed but i'm glad it exists because the threat of it is the only thing that makes some survs do anything other than gens.
As killer you can see the difference in the match and it's staggering. A game that goes super quickly with barely any hooks, the exit gates are powered and as i'm walking around there are multiple totems left, chests left unsearched, the survs came in, banged on gens and left. If that is their main goal "most" killers can't do much about it.
That last sentence in your first paragraph is kinda the point I'm getting at here. "The threat of it"
I can't speak for everyone and I personally don't seek out totems but I always break the ones I come across (Mostly for Inner Strength) but for the most part, I focus gens early game because the threat of the killer being a camper. If a killer turns out to be a camper and we have nothing done on their first hook, that match is already pretty much over. Once two or three gens are done, I'll start looting chest and totem searching to prevent NOED, but doing that stuff in the early game grants more power to the killer and gives them more time to snowball. Once a killer starts rolling, if you're not at least halfway through the objective, there's almost no recovering from it.
So yeah, just like you said the threat of NOED can cause survivors to do things other then gens is why I say the threat of camping is what causes survivors to focus gens in the first place.
-
@Nurgling7 said:
Not sure how camping could come first when 3 gens pop before a hook even happens.
Also, I'm still of the opinion that if 3 gens pop before you get a single hook, you just aren't very good at the game. I've played both sides in red ranks (although my killer isn't there any more because I prefer survivor) and I have never had that happen. If you're in a chase that long, you're doing something wrong. I'm sorry XD
-
@Nurgling7 said:
Not sure how camping could come first when 3 gens pop before a hook even happens.
I've been camped with no gens done. Trust me, it happens. XD
But also the threat of camping is enough on its own. If you don't have any gens done by the time the killer gets their first hook, why wouldn't they camp? The person on the hook will die before 5 gens can be completed by the 3 remaining people, even if they stay on gens the whole time and don't attempt saves.
Camping is strongest at the beginning of a match, compared to the end. The game is 4 v 1 because if even 1 survivor is taken out the equation, the match is pretty much over if you have nothing done. So while I understand the point you are trying to make, the threat of camping is always there and survivors have to get gens done quickly in order to not be stuck in an unwinnable game
-
Depends on the killer honestly.
If it's Trapper, Wraith, Freddy, Myers "Sigh, I should've saw that coming"
If it's Bubba, Nurse, Spirit, and especially Billy and Huntress??? I just laugh and call them scrubs for needing that handicap with they already have an instadown OR a strong ass power

@RakimSockem No, I don't think that's what the person means. Something to do besides doing gens so killers have time to actually kick gens and apply real pressure. Other objectives so far are optional. I've seen games slow down when people thought the killer had NOED and once they started doing totems, the killer had more time to actually hook and chase. 12 hooks a long time. The hook timer use to be 45 seconds for each stage. 30 seconds shorter than it is now.
Camping was so bad that they increased the time to give survivors a chance to do gens but that was when god loops and pallets were aplenty. They reduced both but kept in the timer. 12 hooks will never be pheasable if everyone can just do gens miles apart. Just adding in something that forces survivors to do something for 15 seconds would help tremendously and if someone is camping with no one around, they can forego the requirement and just allow them to focus on gens.
That helps with camping but doesn't punish killers for actually leaving to look for someone else if they're not. Something small goes a long way. It would help ease killers away from just staring into a survivors eyes because they feel like they've already lost. Like having to do big skill checks like the Doctor in Madness 3 to free a gen to do it. 15 seconds out of your time and it's only got to be done once and can't be reset by the killer.
What do you think of that?
I will only ever be in favor of a second objective if camping is more harshly punished or dealt with in some way. Giving killers an extra 15 seconds of down time for each survivor (an extra 60 seconds total of no gen progress) will most likely end in killers camping MORE because they'll have the time to do so and there's nothing that could be done about it. Adding a mandatory second objective MIGHT work if they increase the time you can stay on hook by like 30 seconds
-
I got accused of being in a SWF this morning despite the fact that I was solo queued and was streaming to prove that fact.
Sometimes people just assume a team is SWF because they can't accept the fact that they got outplayed (not saying that's 100% the case for you because I did not watch your matches, but just saying. Every team you think is a SWF isn't necessarily one)
-
@Skysair said:
Why not bring a new mechanic in where survivors must interact with the killer before they can start repairing gens? This would prevent survivors from sitting on gens and popping them in succession, while encouraging survivors to seek out chases and do other objectives like chests and totems.
Immersed survivors are never fun when playing as the killer.
- Because everyone can't be a god tier looper and some people need to play immersed (I'm one of the better loopers in my friend group and my friends immerse because they suck at it)
- It depends on what you mean by "interact". Does that mean enter the killers terror radius? Are you suggesting that only people who have been chased (which usually ends with being hooked) can work on gens meaning all 4 survivors have to rush the killer and get into a chase just to start the objective?
-
@Dzeikor said:
Every game there's at least one survivor running one of these perks and most of the times all of them in a combo.Even when a survivor perk is nerfed,it barely makes a difference like ds,the nerf barely made a difference, its still the best survivor perk.Compared to when a killer gets nerfed like we saw recently with Billy and Leatherface.Addons completely gutted and Billy rework made him both unfun and weak. The worst part is killer addons, creating useless addons just so killers wil have something to spend their bloodpoints on,what's the point of making useless addons and sometimes even detrimental ones? Many killer ultra addon are so bad even if they we're common ones.Devs are so afraid of making a killer remotely decent lately they are all getting washed up reworks or come out that way.Until devs wont show otherwise they will remain survivor biased.
Despite your own bias, the devs are not biased to one side or the other.
With that out of the way, your initial statement is such a false equivalent. Just considering that there are 4 survivors in a match meaning 16 perk slots, of course you're bound to run into one of those perks.
My typical build is We'll Make It, BT, For The People, and Inner Strength. Occasionally, I'll switch out For the People with Lithe which most people argue is one of the weaker exhaustion perks. I consistently stay at rank 1 and while I don't consider myself a Noob3 or an OTZ or another top player, I think I'm pretty good at the game still and am not carried by the perks. I wouldn't even bring BT if people didn't camp so much and if camping wasn't such a strong strategy.
Leatherface was buffed, not nerfed.
And if you think there's an issue with most survivors only using certain perks, it's probably because killers actually have a lot of useful perks, whereas survivor perks are mostly trash. Same with our items and add ons. Following the insta-heal nerf, survivors don't have a single useful iridescent add on. Brand New Parts - Nerfed to hell and useless (And that's on top of toolboxes themselves being nerfed to hell)
Odd bulb - Lol who cares, avoiding flashlights is stupid easy if you know that have them.
Syringe - Trash and rarely worth bringing in
You're really complaining about killer add ons (which contrary to popular belief are optional and not required), but survivors don't have good add ons for any items and the ones that are supposed to be super strong make a neglible difference at best
-
I mean I wouldn't flame you for it but I would definitely look at you as a noob if I just saw you running in a straight line depending on the killer. A clown will catch you easily once he's in bottle range. A huntress will snipe you, Billy will chainsaw you, Ghostface and Myers will stalk you, Nurse will blink to you, pretty much a majority of the killers will down you pretty quickly if you aren't using windows or pallets. I highly doubt you're last 40 seconds by running in a straight line.
-
Not reportable and not holding the game hostage. Just a dick move some people do because they like to waste others time
-
Just look for totems as you move from gen to gen. It's literally how I play (also because I use Inner Strength). Assume every killer has NOED and cleanse all totems that are not lit when you see them. There's no reason NOT to

A lot of Killers share their counters. A fair chunk of them don't have any different or special counters at all. And what Killer powers do need Survivors to learn special counters don't require nearly as much skill as learning how to use those powers. It mostly is a minor changes.
Outside of Trapper or Hag needing to watch your step, and Nurse or Exe to avoid animation locks. It is mostly a variation of common strats for looping, time stalls, and line of sight control.
I def agree it takes more time and various skills to learn every killer in the game. My only point was that being an actual GOOD survivor is more than just map tiles and mind games. Hell, even the difference between play Blood Pool Freddy and Fake Pallet Freddy are completely different and that's against the same killer. And how you would play normal Huntress vs Iri Head Huntress are completely different as well. There's small complexities on both sides but I agree that the effort to put into learning each killer to a pro level is a lot more
