OP... that perk you are talking about is Rancor
-
If BHVR makes DBD2 then they can code the game better and make some better choices
Then they can have their own tournaments (sponsorship only... cause OWL kinda ruined it for everyone else)
So I guess it works out
-
Old Hangman's Trick... on top of what everyone else said
-
A lot of these perks could use re-works not just buffs
-
Well... for Killers like Nurse whom can't get many M1 hits GOP is better
But M1 Killers Sloppy is better
Then again if we are comparing these 2 perks then
Sloppy only slows down healing while GOP applies Gen slowdown to Survivors that heal
-
Wow... it's been over a year since I've played the game
I wish that I could play the game cause I am losing grip on the game... LOL

Yeah I tried a few games as deathslinger. Got all 4ks so I'm pretty happy but I do miss a lot. I think my general know how for killer is what carried me rather than deathslinger himself. It will likely take some practice though
Just go forth and do what you can...
Having general Killer skill does seem like enough but getting used to his power is something else
Good luck

Oh yeah I have everyone. I wasn't sure if he was unbearable on console or not
Well... it's more like his power is kindof hard for all.... But there are uses to his power
Just like huntress you can bait Survivors to go a different way or have them hesitate
It's not like you need to land every shot... just bring a reloading addon
-
Yea I get it.... one player got 1000 wins in a row... but how long did it take to get to that point
And Tunneling is apart of it too... to which becomes a different discussion
And then the Killer played turns into another discussion
Like what if someone else with a different Killer does the same thing what then???
-
So if another person did this with another Killer what would be said...
Would people be trying to discount it by saying- "Tunneling means no skill"
Or
Would people be trying to hype it up by saying- "this is what I'm talking about"
-
Tunneling can happen without perks... but countering it takes perks
Camping can happen without perks... but countering it takes perks
Tunneling Gens can happen without perks.... but countering it takes perks
Camping Gens can happen without perks... but countering it takes perks
-
But there are things stopping true balance
Maps- most of them are one sided no matter how you look at it
Base game mechanics- everything from Gen regression and progression to what each side can and can not do
Perks- I mean all of them if BHVR wants true balance then we need to start looking for perks that aren't used as much and question why... and if it's "cause X perk is better" then a change needs to be made
-
@IWasLrft2Die said:
Deathslinger has intrigued me
Then play him... nothing's stopping you... unless you haven't bought him yet
-
I would say don't let being on console stop you from learning all of the Killers
Huntress- you don't need to hit every hatchet you throw... you can stop a Survivor from going where they want or making them hesitate getting you a hit
Blight- may be a hard one to sell... since I haven't played him enough
Trickster- same as Blight
Oni- is good enough... but I don't have a lot of experience
Hillbilly- Same as Oni
But the ones that you play and have played are good though
-
It used to be the community... but BHVR put MMR in the game that does it for us
But the visuals don't match up
-
Self healing took a big hit this patch...
DS took a bigger hit... as compared to it's previous version
Gen times (80-90 charges)... but Gen speeds remained the same (survivor efficiency, great skillchecks, Toolboxes and Perks)
Killer gets less stun and faster recovery... so less distance
Maps are either Survivor favored or Killer favored... there are few in between
Killer power are getting boring to play as and against (at least as far as I can read)
it's a wonder why the Hook timers haven't been increased... and/ or Bleed out timers
-
I mean... "5 minute matches" are about the only thing that both sides complain about
-
1000 wins on Blight seems weird...
600 wins by playing "normally"
400 wins by Tunneling and Slugging
Seems like some players are just wanting to win no matter what
But that is what it is...
And yes Blight should be fixed as soon as possible (but when will that be IDK)
-
Whispers is underrated just as much as Spies From The Shadows
Oppression is pretty good as well... and it synergizes quite well with Surveillance
And Hot Take... Thrilling Tremors is underrated as well
-
I'm on the fence about this
On one hand:
Yes... cause it causes the Survivors to try and play it safe and gives the Killer a reward for timing it correctly
On the other hand:
No... cause "it's not fair" (says someone that has more hours playing Killer)
Side note:
Locker grabs are a thing so should we get rid of those as well??? Gen grabs as well???
-
That doesn't make any since concerning his backstory... He's all about killing
-
Good for you... enjoy it while you can
-
It seems as if your MMR as Killer is higher then your MMR as Survivor is lower
But if you think you're facing Sweat Squads then you must realize that the new updates tend to make decent Survivors even better
And those that don't understand it (Survivor players) aren't as good as they think they are

I think the perk will be way better if they just brought it back to 200% and kept the deactivation condition. In a 3v1, it is manageable to win without even having gen regression.
Yea... but I kinda want more perks that are useful in one way, shape or form
It that too much to ask
-

Only time I’ve ever had a problem with Ruin was when release Undying was a thing (I wasn’t around for the red skill check Ruin). I wouldn’t be opposed to reverting it back to its pre-6.1.0 self, but it would be way too strong if it wasn’t a hex. I would say it would be too good.
I took advantage of it
I ran Ruin, Huntress Lullaby, (I can't remember the other perks) on Pig (back when Huntress Lullaby affected Jigsaw Boxes)
But yea... I didn't run Ruin and Undying though
I feel the same way to a point... I feel like it being 200% is necessary but they can keep the deactivation condition... or just take away the deactivation condition and leave it at 100%
-
Since the game was more about kicking Gen instead of chases that's what happened
But at least it hasn't been changed...

Pop used to be 25% of total program and unlimited using time.
It's fun to see kill's meta is really being weaker and weaker when survivor says that killer getting buff.
Yea I know... I kinda didn't want to go through all of the changes cause
It's cause of "overuse" nothing more nothing less... BHVR wants to have verity but keep nerfing perks and not buffing other perks
-
200% with the death of a Survivor deactivates it (that's what should happen)
-
@SketchyUtah said:
Call of Brine? Now it only regresses the gen by 25%? What's even the point in running the perk? 4 Token of Pain Res? Is 4 uses of pop worth a perk slot? These weren't OP perks. I don't understand why they were nerfed.
It used to be 200% charges per second or .50 charges per second now it's 125% or .3125 charges per second (for 60 seconds)
Overcharge was used along side Call Of Brine... so synergy has something to do with it
They were nerfed due to "overuse"... not because they needed it
4 Tokens of PR 25% of maximum progression... should be just enough but sometimes it's not
Pop can be used more then 4 times but I get the point... and it's 20% of current progress (needs to be changed)
-
Corrupt, Deadlock, Thrilling Tremors, DMS
Corrupt- 120 seconds (or until you get a down) of 3 Gens blocked
Deadlock- 30 seconds of the most progressed Gen blocked for 30 seconds
Thrilling Tremors- 16 seconds of all Gens that aren't being worked on being blocked
DMS- 30 seconds of Gen blocking on Gens that Survivors stop working on
Quick chases... Chase perks...
Gift of pain, Sloppy...
Hell run Ruin to throw off a Survivor or 2
-
Ok so... That'll be hard for BHVR to code into the game
And yes we used to have BBQ which gave BP bonus to each unique Hook (4 for 100% bonus)
But since they took that away players want the easiest ways to "win" games/matches
I agree with the premise but there could be some tweaks...
Like:
1st Survivor Hooked means nothing... but if that Survivor is hooked again within 60 seconds then the other get buffed (maybe 10% Gen efficiency, haste for 10 or so seconds, healing 10% faster)
And if the Killer Kills that one Survivor then the bonus gets applied for the rest of the match... and the Survivors get a BP boost (I know that it won't matter but it's there for those players that do get Tunneled out of the game without doing much and it's not their fault)
And if the Killer hooks a second Survivor then Gen efficiency buff (for them... but for Survivors it's a Nerf) to 85%, Haste for 10 seconds
And if the Killer then hooks a third Survivor then it stays for the rest of the match
If the Killer gets the 4th Survivor then they get a BP bonus
This is off the top of my head... and not a lot of thought was put into it
-
We players want the easiest things...
DH- Used to be used anytime after an injury... but now if you want to use the perk you need to save another Survivor safely
SB- One just has to hold the run button and wait 40 seconds and do it again or they can get the exhaustion to 99% and bait a swing and zoom away
Which one is easier to use??? See what I mean
-
I don't have an opinion on it right now (and probably won't for awhile)
Are we comparing Killer Powers to everything else???
Yes BHVR does need to change the game enough to get players to continue to play... They got rid of the "Gen Kick meta" but didn't give Killers another way to slowdown the game
So they had to do something to invoke change... so they changed Healing (which I still don't understand)
They also don't like reverting pervious changes (other then on the PTB)
And Those Killers you mentioned:
They have pros and cons to their power and Addons help either change it or improve the pros
-
That shouldn't be a thing for (a lot of reasons)
1) Coding it would be hard (especially BHVR)
2) Can be avoided... by not running perks
-
It's simple....
It's us:
Some of us play Killer only
Some of us play Survivor only
Some of us do play both sides
And Balance... or any semblance of it- maps, perks, addons, Killer Powers and Items
-
There are pros and cons to both perks
Corrupt- Blocks the farthest 3 Gens from the Killer for 120 seconds (which makes the Survivors Shroud even more beneficial to the Killer), Goes away after the first down, Doesn't have the effect that Lethal does by extending Gen blocking times
Lethal- See the Survivors for 9 seconds at the start of the match, get that first chase started (which may or may not speed up hooks), but leaves the 3 other Survivors to do Gens, has an effect on other Aura Reading perks and Addons
And yes it would be worth buffing Corrupt to include an effect on Gen blocking
-
I'm going to be petty...
Fixated- faster movement speeds make swings even bigger risk
Hope- same as Fixated... but during Endgame
Blood Echo- As Killer it's hard to get anything out of it... As Survivor it's just as annoying
Deathbound- Serves little purpose (effect is meaningless in the grand scheme of this)
-

Totally agree, code problem, but as they continue like this... the game won't get much further, honestly.
League of Legends has been going on for 13 years, and it refreshes every year, bringing out new mechanics every SEASON, this is what I mean, but it's totally, the code is something... BAD.
And it's not the code itself... it's how they code the game as well
They are using Unreal Engine 4 BTW (as far as I'm aware)
But how they code the game makes certain things impossible... like what you're talking about
-
I feel like it's a slippery slope that we are riding
Ok more like a water slide... but the point being once things change we won't get it back
And yes some of it is our fault... but a lot of it is on BHVR
We are going to need to go over everything from here on with a fine tooth comb... instead of what we normally do
-
It's hard for them to come up with "new mechanics" and code them into the game
The game was meant to be a small thing... but when they brought Mickey they didn't expect it be what it is now
The foundation of this game is broken... you must realize this
Introducing something new now would only break the game further
They need to fix the foundation first
-
It have to be restricted to early games... if there are 5 Gens and somebody does that then yes... but if a Gen has been done then no
-
Well... welcome to the Killer side
But don't get to comfortable here.... things change
.5 seconds to fully recover from a missed swing is a thing that bothers you?
Camping, Tunneling and Slugging are apart of the game just like 99% Gens, Splitting Gens, Healing, Grouping up on Gens
You do realize that the base game favors Survivors more then Killers...
1.0-2.2 charges on Gens
Healing being what it is
Hiding
Looping favoring Survivors cause they chose where to go... it's up to the Killer to mindgame most loops... with Survivors it's easier to do
Yes Camping, Tunneling and Slugging at 5 Gens is a head scratcher to say the least... but if the Killer thinks it's a SWF then doing those things won't matter that much... and that is something that needs to change
-
As I see it... there's a lot of back and forth between what used to be in game on both sides
But then again no one brought up Camping and Tunneling cause that was seen as a noob strategy... but now it's wide spread
So lets look at the base game one more time... back when I started playing which was right after Legion was released... oh and there's a lot of me thinking which is kinda sorta hard
Survivors had:
16 charge (I believe) heals...
80 charge Gens... with 2% bonus with great skillchecks
Longer Sabo times (toolbox only... I think)
And Killers had:
.25 Gen regression (nothing new here... but no 2.5% bonus regression)
120 second Hook timers (nothing new here either)
3 Hooks to Kill a Survivor (again nothing new)
Perks.... I can't remember what people had said was "meta"... but I ran:
Killer:
Huntress Lullaby- the sound of a skillcheck lessened then became silent... and effected all skillchecks (I think)
Ruin- Harder skillchecks
BBQ- Survivor auras and bonus BP for getting 4 stacks
Whispers- to know if I was close to a Survivor
Survivor:
HAHAHAHah.... I can't remember what I ran... cause I didn't play Survivor all that much
-
Play some Survivor... not a lot but some here and there
It helps to get some experience on the other side
But if all else fails... play Observer Wraith... and just observe what the Survivors do
You might be surprised by what you find
-
And this all started cause I answered OP
But if time in game doesn't matter but Playstyle does (To which I kinda agree with) then why do you less "casual Killers" then "casual Survivors"
Is it because the players that were casual had to start playing differently... if so then why
Or is it because of how much time they spent in the game
Cause I believe that both have something to do with it
-
Ok so Pig being Medium... Seems to low for me
Timing her RBT's to gain some sort of pressure outside of chases and Hooks... kinda adds to her difficult IMO
-
MEH... without setting the rest of the perks up like that... it'll end up not working
-
I get it but... if a Casual player starts to notice things then doesn't that mean that they aren't as casual... IMO
Cause I'm sitting at more then 1900 hours... I have made it to Red Rank 1 (before they changed it) and I don't consider myself a casual (I had a lot of time on my hands at one point)
So we have reached the point of agreeing to disagree to say the least

Dang. I know you’re a biased killer main or w/e but I was kinda hoping you’d answer the question he asked, not spin off into something completely unrelated b/c you can’t defend your point, I guess.
Ok...... I may be a biased Killer main.... but I do think about the other side... Just because I being up what Killers go through and you say that means something (to say the least)
Fine then.... Yes Survivors do also have to learn the same things as Killers but Survivors also rely on SWF's/ teammates to pull them out of hard times (I don't claim SWF after every match... but I'm not everyone else)... What does the Killer have?
So why not answer my question... How long does it take to lose the casual player title???
And how is that unrelated... I am still talking about casual players

Out of curiosity, do you think that survivors don't have to think about any of that as well? I'd argue survivors need to know maps/rng, their perks, their teammates perks, killers powers, killers perks, killers addons and specific playstyles per killer (for instance, playing against condemn sadako is pretty different than a normal sadako, likewise a basekit blight has pretty different counterplay than double speed, or alch ring/c33 blight, etc), as well as think of gen strategies so you don't 3 gen and when the best time to heal or rescue, for instance. Doubly so in solo-q. This game gets complicated and overwhelming with factors that affect every little thing, especially for new players.
Survivors just need to know the perks in general... cause they aren't shown in pre-match lobbies
Maps yes... also Survivors do have to learn more about maps then Killers
Killer powers yes... but then that player isn't a casual (if they can say "oh it's that Killer... ok so this is what I'm going to do")
Killer perks... yes... until you see perks getting used or activate... and again they wouldn't be casual if they can see the perk activate or being used and say "Ok this Killer is using X perk)
Killer addons... yes but that's something casuals don't care about (it's too specific)
So how big is the gap between casual players and experienced players?

Cause for me it's...
Killer: 50 hours
Survivor: 100 hours (of Solo play... IMO SWF's don't count)
