Dude you said you would try and ruin other people's matches if you can't go next. That is quite sad. Just because a match is not going the way you'd like it or because you are on a map or against a killer you don't like doesn't mean you have to ruin the match for the other survivors.

nothing sad about that, it's almost as if you can't force someone to play

  • @ad19970 said:

People like you are genuinely sad. Going out of their way to just ruin people's matches.

I am also confused by all the buffs killers are getting. Pretty sure the spawn change is the only general killer buff. Both survivors and killers are receiving perk buffs, and Vecna's buffs are also completely fine.

Also, no worries, but you just giving up doesn't make the victory meaningless in any way.

oh yes, I'm so sad cause I don't waste my time is pointless matches. If I'm sad I don't even know how straight up depressed the people who are crying about someone going next must be.

And yes, the victory absolutely is meaningless since it's not an actual match. This is the whole reason why it's the killer mains celebrating these changes and not survivors so let's not lie

Survivors ARE getting a massive buff. It's called "go next prevention." Yes, there will still be pathetic losers that whine and cry and try to ruin the match for everyone, but overall it will make more people stay and engage with the match, making solo queue much more bearable and probably will increase escape rates for everyone.

And what are killers getting? The spawn changes, that survivors can undo with only one of them bringing an offering? That's overall a killer nerf. Because killers will be required to bring the counter offering just in case survivors are bringing the separation offering, and there's not enough of them to bring every match.

And, by the way, if I'm the killer and you start sandbagging or trying to quit, I'm just going to slug you. I will absolutely throw the entire match to make sure that you bleed out for all four minutes.

oh no, I'm so scared you're gonna slug me. Terrified, even. You're still not getting a normal match, I'm assuming that your victory being meaningless is what's bothering you this much

  • Only killer mains and pick me survivors can be excited for this patch

  • @SoGo said:

Yeah, that will become an issue soon.

Also, the less talked about thing, why did they make everything that's not a Luck or BP offering secret?

Now you can use a Hatch offering and escape for free.

You don't get an escape for free since the majority of the killers slug for a 4k which now has absolutely mo counterplay cause of the update to the AFK crows

  • The new spawn logic is a MASSIVE survivor nerf in the same game that absolutely doesn't need any more survivor nerfs. It would have been insane if they didn't change the shroud offering to work this way since not every single match should be a guaranteed 4k.

Going Next 1-30 matches???? ARE WE PLAYING THE SAME GAME????

    more like 15-30 matches

    Play more solo q

Also feel its rude to tell devs to play their own game.

This game aint easy to deal with

LOL not even close. Thousands of Solo Q games over the years later and I barely ever see it, but sure, you see it in 50% of the matches 😂😂

Expecting devs to play their own game is rude? How? The game isn't easy to deal with? And whose fault is that and who has the power to actually change it?

This is false. Also, there is no way you actually believe this. If you do, this is the best bait I have seen on this forum in a long time.

I am tired of survivors throwing my matches. I am tired of almost winning the game and they just give up because the killer side eyed them. Its the most exhausting thing about playing Survivor. You know what you are signing up for when you come play this game. It's not always going to go your way and that is okay.

I play A LOT of survivor, my biggest gripes are just Ghoul right now. Are Blight and Nurse annoying too? God yes. Another topic though.

This game isnt swayed to one side or the other. It needs continuous balances and soloq still needs love for sure but killer sided? I find that too funny.

you play survivor once a month, let's not act like you are suffering cause of hook suicides lmao

"most killer sided patch" because it combats people who destroy soloQ lobbies by giving up early into the match and forcing early 3v1?

So dishonest lol. Never change, killer mains

  • Yeah, we should definitely leave S tier killers alone, they are so fun and interactive to play against

  • @Brokenbones said:

Or they can just DC and let the bot actually contribute in their place

I'd rather have a bot than someone who gives up immediately.

Then they should remove the DC penalty, but they won't do that considering that in this same patch they're actually making it even worse. The survivor who wants to go next will now be forced to stay, but they won't contribute to the match since they don't wanna be in it which is actually the worst possible outcome for everyone involved.

  • @TimberGoingDown said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3941964#Comment_3941964

I'm sorry, do you think that a survivor being unable to make the game a 3v1 at first hook… is a killer buff? Are we being serious right now?

It's still gonna be a 3v1 tho since there's absolutely no way to force someone to actually play the match. Them being forced to stay in it won't change anything, it's just gonna make the game significantly more frustrating for survivors which is the last thing this game needs and killer queue times prove that.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3941937#Comment_3941937

The Go Next and DC Penalty changes are survivor sided buffs, because they're going decrease the actual kill rate. When a survivor ragequits, it's way more unfair to the other survivors than it is to the killer.

And the game never keeps survivors hostage, because no one is literally forcing survivors to stay in a game. The changes are only stopping survivors from exploiting a loophole, that allowed them to quickly and easily bypass the DC penalties. Using hooks to bypass the DC penalties is an exploit.

It's not a buff, it's a change coming to aolease the killers and not survivors. Scroll through any discussion on the internet and you'll see which side is celebrating these changes.

Unhooking yourself is an exploit? I've heard it all

  • Not only can you not get bullied in a video game, the bully squads are ridiculously uncommon, it's just that too many killers instantly start screaming "bully squad" the second someone gets a sabo or a flashlight save

Also, how are killers not getting anything? The patch coming out in the few days is the most killer sided patch we've ever had and you're out here panicking over announced anti-tunnel changes that are probably gonna be something like BT lasting 15 seconds lmao

  • @TimberGoingDown said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3941939#Comment_3941939

Sure you can. Some days I'll burn through my "free" dc and even my 5 minute dc early in the day. Then I'll have to think to myself: "Is this match more miserable than sitting in the lobby for 15 minutes?" the next time I feel like going next. Killers do this all the time. It's time for survivors to make that same choice.

Comparing apples to oranges. You guys love mentioning that the game is asymmetrical until it suddenly doesn't fit the argument.

And no, you can't. You can hold someone hostage in a match they don't wanna be in, but you'll never be able to force them to play. You think survivors will suddenly be excited to play miserable matches because they can't unhook themselves anymore? Lol, they won't be actually playing those matches.

Im quite excited and nervous where y'all are going with this, ha. Going next correction will help give a more realistic take on where actual kill numbers are which I think will be very beneficial. That in itself can cause quite a chain reaction of balance changes. Im looking forward to seeing the results!

No they won't. You can't force someone to play a match they don't wanna play and these unnecessary preventions won't do anything other than making survivor players more frustrated with the game than ever.

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3941807#Comment_3941807

Yes I am, I've played this game since day 1 back in 2016 and I think it's in the healthiest position its ever been in balance wise - and I've played both sides of the game for many many years now. There's always going to be some issues with the game, same as any game, and we're addressing those this year with the slugging / tunneling / "go next" things that we have planned.

The game is the most killer sided it has ever been and now you're giving us the most killer sided patch of all time that also includes no way of going next (both removing hook suicides and reworking how DC penalties work) to keep survivors hostage in miserable and unwinnable matches as if it was a full time job and not a video game. How is that the healthiest the game has ever been? For the killers, sure, but they aren't the only ones in the playerbase and this is coming from someone who plays both sides equally.

  • The thing I'm excited about the most is not spending any more money on this game since the survivor role will be unplayable after this patch.

  • Leave it to the killer mains to try and unironically say that Nurse doesn't need nerfs LMAO

  • @LemonMan said:

This is such a ridiculous take.

Everyone knows that the power hierarchy of this game goes SWF > Killer > SoloQ

And even if a Killer player was good enough to handle most SWFs, they can't do so without tunneling. Haven't you watched any proper pro matches? The ONLY hope a Killer has at high level is to camp and tunnel. And even for lower levels where Survivors aren't as good, if you have 8/12 hooks BEFORE anyone is killed, you will lose (unless you're an S tier Killer, which is a small portion of the roster).

No Trapper, no Cenobite, no Demogorgon, no Pyramid head will survive 8/12 hooks before the first kill (I'm exaggerating, of course some will survive).

The game has to have an incentive for Killers not to tunnel. Having 1 person out at 5-6 hooks is a very crucial part of playing Killer, and I personally don't even tunnel or count hook stages.

We talk about Killers tunneling, okay. Punish the tunnelers. What about Survivors that abuse anti-tunnel perks towards non-tunneling Killers? I'm tired of being body blocked by the OTR / DS / DH / UB guy. I don't want to tunnel, but holy ######### you guys LOVE to abuse your "defensive" perks.

A Killer should be rewarded for not tunneling people. I should get some sort of value from hooking separate Survivors. Until that happens, tunneling won't stop. Why would anyone intentionally shoot themselves in the foot?

    Who's everyone? Lol

Killer mains constantly spamming how survivor sided the game is against SWF doesn't make it true, especially not when we have official stats to confirm they are lying

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Them waiting for a hit out is the same line as slugging out survivors. Letting toxic play continue when it can be patched out easily and when they have proven they will do that for survivors would be very one sided of the DEVs. And in recent years they have show much better efforts to actually balance the game and stop toxic play. This is just the logical next step

Lmao, BHVR letting survivors teabag at the exit (against only some killers, mind you) is so one sided of them!!! It's totally not like they just got rid of hook suicides, map offerings, chsbged the mori system, changed the spawn logic and changed the AFK crows all to appease one side and make the other one miserable.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3937114#Comment_3937114

Would it be better of the AFK point gain was paused, if only 2 survivors are alive, and 1 of the survivors is in the dying state?

Because that would stop the 4th survivor from gaining crows, when the killer is trying to slug for the 4k.

Yes, that would definitely be way better, tho in general I have some issues with this system. I've heard of people saying they've been getting crows on the PTB while looking for a gen or a hex or when trying to go for a flashlight save.

  • So yet another system to secure that 4k? Slugging for the 4k is one of the biggest issues in the game and they somehow keep making it worse and worse for survivors with every patch.

  • Garden of Joy should definitely be its own offering, especially now that they've butchered map offerings and so many maps for survivors

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/446908/victor-can-start-chases-now

Victor is awful now. The biggest advantage of Victor was being able to hear survivors through walls, but now that he is forced to listen to chase music, it's way way harder to follow survivors.

I think I got a bot to entity block a window, but I forgot to record it, and it doesn't really matter because it doesn't change the fact that gaining chase music is a HUGE nerf to Victor, and being able to entity block windows would be a very small thing in comparison.

This feels so much worse than survivors holding Victor hostage. It's like the entire "Victor is good at rushdown" theme is ruined, because I'm often stuck guessing where the survivor is, instead of knowing exactly where they are.

Good. There's already no looping Victor and he moves at an insane speed. He needed something to tone him down.

  • Don't worry, the anti-tunneling changes are coming in the next few months. They'll make base kit Borrowed Time 15 seconds instead of 10 and call it a day, I'm really looking forward to it

  • @LockerLurk said:

It's better and usable but needs to be more. Period. End of. It shouldn't have been nerfed to begin with, and certainly not to unusability.

BHVR has GOT to make kicking gens worth it and provide perks for it, especially for M1s. There is no reason a Trapper should ever be dry-kicking gens, he can't afford to. There is also no reason an Artist, a Ghostface, a Myers, a Pig, or anyone else with low or limited mobility should ever be dry-kicking gens. This perk just is not quite enough incentive to. And arguably, I shouldn't need to bring a perk to do this at all.

Just buff some more of the weaker gen perks, what is it going to hurt? Stacked Commodious toolbox players? Should we not have counterplay to that?

Yeah, gen regression totally ruins SWFs with 4 toolboxes more than Solo Q, you're right

  • They should try balancing the game first if they are so desperate for the survivors to DC less often

  • Didn't BHVR themselves say in the past that you can't force people to play matches they don't wanna play? What has changed? There's a billion valid reasons why people hook suicide or DC, but now you're not allowed to do either.

Notice how it's almost always killer mains celebrating these changes? Allegedly they are meant to improve Solo Q, yet it's gonna make it far more miserable and a lot of survivors are speaking out against the DC penalty and go next prevention. What does BHVR think is gonna happen when they force survivors to play matches? They won't suddenly start enjoying them or start trying, they'll either quit the game or sandbag their team.

The new spawn logic, the rework of map offerings, the new AFK crows, the new mori system, the new way the DC penalty works, the new go next preventions and the fact that they even apply to SWFs where everyone can just agree to go next all send a clear message. You're not here to have fun, you're here to boost the killer's ego as they get their 100th 4k in a row. You WILL stay in a miserable match and you won't complain as you watch your random default Feng with level 2 perks getting tunneled out by a P100 quadruple regression Blight on Haddonfield.

This is genuinely the worst patch this game has ever gotten.

  • It's the other way around.. it's the way the tokens work that killed it, not the aura revealing. Before aura revealing it was just punishing Solo Q for no reason when Solo Q is in a horrible state already.

  • @XDgamer018 said:

since when is red forest killer sided??? if anything its survivor sided same for yamaoka with its size

It's 2025, all those maps are garbage for survivors currently, especially Temple and Family Residence

  • It just lost all of the best variations it had. But yes, it can get nerfed for the survivors in the same patch where Yamaoka, Coldwind, Borgo, Haddonfield, Midwich and Red Forest get nerfed for the killers.

  • Brilliant changes. After these are implemented the next change should be that all 4 survivors start the match on hook against Legion and they only get to try to kobe if they brought a luck offering or Slippery Meat.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I dont think its strong enough to be a perk, and i also feel that this should be base-kit as 99% the gate can completely circumvent some perks.

And when it is as a perk its a dead giveaway that the killer is running Blood Warden and / or noed. and the players will adapt.

Lmao bye. Imagine wanting this to be basekit. Let's make DS and OTR badekit then as well.

  • @ChuckingWong said:

No idea. Term came out of excuses from what I can tell. Survivors have nothing else to do. Asking them what they are supposed to be doing would pretty much nulify any complaints about it.

Tunneling though. As many seem to, hilariously, attempt to compare it to. Killers can choose who they want to chase. Survivors dont get to choose anything but doing a generator.

They are simply incomparable. Embarrassing for anyone trying to make a similarity between the two.

Plus with tunneling you can run full meta and still get value out of all your perks while gen rushing requires the whole team to dedicate their builds to it.

Chases are the funnest aspect of the game, but since BHVR is constantly nerfing every single map for survivors, adding killers with insane chase powers, buffing others to have crazy chase powers and introducing more and more chase perks, the best way to win is to stack gen progression perks as even with chase perks you are counting on the killer to make mistakes in order for chases to be long enough for the survivors to be able to win.

  • The "Go Next" prevention is horrible. You're trying to keep people in matches they don't wanna be in without even trying to address why they don't wanna be in those matches. Do you think this is gonna improve Solo Q? If someone doesn't wanna play the match, they won't play it no matter what. You're just gonna make players more and more frustrated by forcing them to play out matches when the whole point of DBD is that it's a video game and not a job. A lot of veteran survivors will play this game less and less or even just quit, myself included. It's not too late to revert these changes.

Do you want me to start listing off all the survivor perk combinations too, im confused? Do you just want to play against an empty husk that stands there cause it sounds like you have issues with LITERALLY everything in the killers toolkits...

You honestly sound like you don't like the game? So like maybe don't play it?

Except that all the combos that killers cry about all have easy counterplay, but that's besides the point. The point is that you want the survivors to feel bad about going next cause the killers don't like it when it happens when killers constantly go out of their way to make the matches miserable for survivors. Hell, killers making the matches miserable is a good chunk of reason why many people go next in the first place, but they shouldn't do it so the killers can have fun? Give me a break.

  • No it won't. If they tried implementing a system that punishes you for throwing the match, the new players couldn't play a single match without getting a DC penalty lmao

  • @PikaTwo said:

Sure, we can't force anyone to play a match they don't want to play, but why would they even load into a match if they don't want to play? The point of this game is to be thrown into a game with 1 of 40 or more killers, any map, and three random teammates. If you load into the game with these set conditions, is it not fair to expect you to play with said conditions?

No one loads into a Solo Q match wanting to play against some comp wannabe Nurse or Blight running 4 regression perks on Haddonfield. Just like no one loads into a match to play with teammates who refuse to do gens while also not knowing how to put up a chase longer than 10 seconds.

  • @EinRaikou said:

That action alone of being picked off a gen is still wasting more of the killers time than just offing oneself on hook….

I can't speak for everyone but killers don't like when survivors rage-quit on first hook either. It's lame, takes the fun out of the game, and half the time it makes the rest of the survivors give up. It's not fun for anyone involved. Anyone who is the first person downed that gives up like that, needs to grow up. If they follow through on the new mechanic, and I come across someone obviously trying to get killed to "go-next" I won't be giving them that satisfaction. I'll be holding them hostage for the rest of the trial. Either they can take a DC penalty, or they can start working on gens.

Killers don't like it cause it ruins their power fantasy and your post is literally a proof of that LMAO

Survivors also don't like getting slugged, camped and tunneled, they don't like going against insanely broken killers designed to 4k every single match, they don't like playing on maps that are a guaranteed 4k, they don't like having to repair a billion gens cause the killer is running full regression, rhey don't like automatically losing what's supposed to be a 50/50 mindgame cause the killer has aura reading, they don't like a killer making a ridiculous comeback after doing bad the whole match thanks to stuff like Devour Hope or endgame perks etc. etc., but sure, survivors should DEFINITELY be really concerned about how the killers feel when survivors go next in miserable matches.

"you responding to every single comment in this thread is disturbing, to say the least".

That sounds like something a bit silly to be disturbed at, but do go on…

"You only playing one role is not my problem".

You assume too much. I play both roles and I was playing a few survivor matches just now. You can check other posts I've made in the past if you wish, I literally defended Skull Merchant's nerfs because she was insufferable to play against and too easy to win as. I'm saying this change is good because when I play SURVIVOR the worst thing that happens, that ruins the fun all the time, are other survivors giving up and ruining every chance of winning. The single worst thing, even worse than camping or tunneling, because you usually don't even get a chance from preventing it.

All the rest you said was just pointless assumptions about me with some disrespect and personal attacks added so I won't bother with most of it. But I will just point 3 little things:

    1. Survivors who like to go next (like you admit you are…) are not the poor victims you are trying to paint them as, they are griefers ruining the matches of other survivors on purpose. No amount of drama is going to change that.
    2. I've literally seen survivors who had tried to give up start working on gens and towards the objective after the killer ignored them for long enough, to the point all the gens were done and they even tried to escape in the end. Trolling a match takes more time and effort than just pressing M1 on hook, beside being a bannable offense, so most people will either stay on the match or press the leave button and take the penalty… just like killers do on the same scenario.
    3. Again, if this change didn't bother you, you wouldn't come here to complain about it. That just reinforces it is a good change that does make a difference.

TL;DR: when you realise someone is going next you get so emotional that you keep them hostage in that match, ignore them till they pop all the gens and then kill them in the endgame. Could have just said that instead of making all these fictional scenarios up.

Also who said that it didn't bother me? You apparently don't even know how to read. It does bother me since it's the worst patch since the meta shake up one that made the game killer sided. Still won't force me to play the matches that I don't want to so it doesn't address the supposed issues that it's meant to resolve.

Abandon, regression limits, face camp timer, increased haste boosts aftrer hits. You mention already decent killer perks getting buffed but survivors get that too(babysitter). I did not want to talk perk balance because both sides get nerfs and buffs.

The only thing i mentioned about perks was beginner friendly perks are nonexistant, especially free players. New"top tier killer" is now gutted. Despite map changes many maps are still unfriendly to majority of killers in the game as well(M1 Killers)

Not a single one of those was a part of the QoL changes LMAO. Do you also want me to start bringing up all the buffs that the killers have gotten outside of the QoL changes? We'll be hear for another decade till I list them all. At least you proved my point that the only QoL buff that survivors have gotten is the ability to not get held hostage in matches that they''ve already lost. Mind you, those survivor perks will never become meta cause no matter what you do with perks like Poised it's never gonna change the fact that survivors need anti-tunnel and anti-slug perks in order for the game to even be playable. Killers sre getting buffs for perks that will again be meta for all the killer like CoB or for specific killers like Predator, Zanshin Tactics, Knock Out, Superior Anatomy etc

  • Malkhrim, you responding to every single comment in this thread is disturbing, to say the least. You only playing one role is not my problem. Anyone who is even half competent at playing survivor knows that there's absolutely no point in staying in a match where your teammates are straight up refusing to do gens, but of course you're not bothered by that since you only play killer and you LOVE the opportunity to hold people hostage in miserable matches so you can get a power trip out of it. You're foaming at the mouth at the thought of making survivors suffer in matches with you so you can feel like you stomped them, but guess what? The person who wanted to go next still won't participate in the match and will find a way to not play it so don't get too excited. You're still not gonna get a real 4v1 match, the only difference is that now instead of them killing themselves on the hook they'll stand AFK or let you pick them off a g

  • Lmao what? FNAF is not as popular as people are trying to make it seem, but I am genuinely curious how you got to the conclusion that BHVR has been focusing too much on the survivor experience.

They completely gutted map offerings which is something that killers have been crying about 24/7. They nerfed two strongest survivor realms with Eyrie and Badham. Survivors now all spawn together which is a MASSIVE nerf to survivors. You can now finish any match with a mori that removes any counterplay for survivors in plenty niche situations. Already decent killer perks are getting buffed. Killers who didn't need any buffs are getting them. A new top tier killer got released. Survivors can't go next in unplayable matches and can't give up to give their teammate a chance at the hatch.

And what did survivors get in return for all these changes? The abandon feature lmao.

  • @Malkhrim said:

No one is forcing you to keep playing a match. Can't stand playing it? Leave it and take a penalty. You just can't bypass the penalty anymore and that's good. That's pretty common on online games, BTW.

If the penalty got too high that leaving a match is not worth anymore, then that's on you for going next too often.

Ah yes, let me wait for 15 minutes to get back into the match cause the killer is making it miserable or because my teammates are refusing to do the objective. No thanks. If you or BHVR think you can force someone to play a match they don't wanna play you got another thing coming. Feel free to pick me off a gen that I'll be getting on in your face to get out of the match without the penalty.

Her add-ons are literally not a problem. Hands are good, but not OP, so no reason to change them, and everything else is completely fine or weak.

There is NOTHING that should get nerfs.

Even before I ever played her I never had an issue with any of her add ons. None of them are broken or even obnoxious to deal with. It's bizarre that they are changing her add ons before addressing the absolute bullshit that so many killers have. Even as a Spirit main I'm not sure how they think rebalancing Artist's add ons is more important than reworking unhealthy stuff like Dried Cherry Blossom.

They are not doing this for survivors, it is for killers. The comp Blight doesn't have enjoyment rubbing salt in the wound. They literally, in the same patch, putting all four survivors together so the same Blight can down all four within a minute using the broken Lethal Pursuer perk. I really couldn't comprehend the game getting worse but it actually does.

That's the funny thing about this game. They somehow keep making it worse and worse for survivors which is insane considering the stats pointing to the fact that it's already not in a good state for them. They couldn't have just made survivors always spawn in pairs if they wanted to change the spawn logic, no, they had to make them all spawn together to guarantee that the early game becomes killer sided even tho early game is when the killers are supposed to be at their weakest and survivors at their strongest.

  • BHVR only care about one side having a fun time while playing their game and it's not the survivors lol
