That entire tome is bugged af. There are three in it I cannot complete (this is one of them) and I am only on page 2. It sucks because I am relatively new and am weary of spending money on DLCs due to bugs and hacks. Tome 4, afaik, is the only one that has challenges requiring just base game characters.
Oh so I need to only use base game survivors?

Most people in my lobby are eastern europe + russian players tho.
For me it used to be russian / german / uk players but not it's only chinese players or accounts that have the steam message that notify people that they haven't been completed yet

You kill Barbeque and Chili and suddenly there's no reward for getting 1 hook on every survivor, so why not just kill off one guy as early as you can.
Almost as if that should've been moved to a a core gameplay mechanic instead of being deleted entirely.
If you're mad about increased tunneling and camping, you should be demanding the BBQ BP mechanic to come back.
Not really mad about it since personally I keep the killer busy long enough for others to escape, again if they're not too altruistic others make it out but watching the hook timer deplete gets old pretty fast, especially since only being chased doesn't really give survivors much BP as well. Also camping and tunneling was a thing with old BBQ, I'm just noting that it definitely does feel worse after the perk changes.

@Ecstasy said:
Please god no.
At least Urban Evasion can burn the killer's time on searching your direction and traveling across the map. Distortion is just "tunnel my team" the perk.
Never have I left a match thinking "damn glad that guy was part of my team" about someone and learned they were running distortion. It's always the opposite: "what a weasel... oh, distortion... well that makes sense"
It was bad enough before the buff. Now those people who already refuse to help spread out aggro actually go out of their way to be teamkillers. They'll crouch around doing nothing to regain their tokens before engaging with anything productive that might actually put them at risk, just shifting more pressure onto their teammates.
And when you call them out on it, it's that typical mind-numbing hypocrisy about other players usually being selfish, as if assuming everyone else to be a POS somehow excuses/explains being that very POS for every game where the other players engage in goodfaith as a team.
I've seen too many easy full-team escapes get flopped into a 4k with like 1 gen left thanks to the typical distortion user... and I do mean 4k... those sleazy hatch-hiders still end up dying like half the time anyhow.
Well at least I can comfortably read this and know that doesn't apply to me, sure killers have a harder time finding me but hey in those situations I end up finishing the game with iri lightbringer. If the killer wants to tunnel with their aura perk I can't control that decision. (but thank god someone else is getting tunneled instead of me uwu)
-
@Halloulle said:
Once I got Jeff I tried distortion ....and haven't taken it off since. Lethal is at this point omnipresent - aura reading in general is. Maybe one in ten matches I don't get any value from it. The top aura reading perks I see being Lethal, BBQ, All ears and Floods of Rage. Also the Aura reading add-ons various killers have are pretty popular too. I also don't really get the two stacks lost at the beginning of a match.
This!!! Especially when you're up against an aura reading plague or want to escape Meyers or are almost done with gens and the killer has bbq. Honestly the perk also has a counter of it only getting value when you're lucky enough to have teammates who split up and don't follow you everywhere.
When i spawn ingame and notice the killer has lethal and seconds afterwards see a teammate run toward me I die a little inside because I can't yell at them to stay away from me 🥲
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
If they buffed Distortion to 11 seconds then I'd consider it, but the fact that I lose 2 tokens at the very start of the match means that I'd rather use perks I'm able to get far more consistent value out of. Especially since I'm actually confident in my ability to last longer than my teammates
Lowkey didn't know it noms through two tokens but at least you can get them back when you're in the killer's terror radius. Been getting a lot of Wesker games so capping at max tokens has been easy after depleting them.
-
One suggestion I still agree with is Otz one, that survivors who are healthy shouldn't be grabable when unhooking survivors. Only when they're healthy though.
-
I usually took killer sides because of how underwhelming and pressuring the role was once you creep into high rank, agreed that most killers needed tune ups. BHVR, to their credit have listened to feedback and have been buffing killers one by one and might continue but now that it's beginning to affect survivors in a significant way. I'm starting to see just how comfortable killers have gotten when it comes to complaining so much on the forums to the point where they ignore sensible arguments from survivor mains because they're so used to shouting at BHVR to buff killers lol.
Like seriously Iron Will isn't broken, never was, hell most times killers I've gone up against checked for blood or used their intuition on where scratch marks they followed ended up to try and find me. Hiding like that doesn't work 100% of the time, hell I'd say about 50% of the time they're smart enough to figure out where I am, plus it made playing against spirit manageable for me. If the nerf goes through I'll miss using it but I'm a Jeff main and boy does my man moan loud.

But none of that stops you from progressing in-game and achieving your objective, if a survivor is being toxic with those - they are also screwing themselves over by wasting resources.
This is especially true in solo queue as well!

That’s not true though - if you hook the DS person, they get unhooked don’t heal or interact with anything, you in that time have already hooked someone else and find them again - they’re going to DS you. Not tunnelling, that’s their bad luck, or wanting to use DS to waste a few seconds. Same as those who bodyblock with BT when you’re actively trying to avoid the person who’s been unhooked.
Someone doing that is a detriment to their team though, because they're spending all that time doing nothing to progress the game just for a 5 second stun.

Having kindred be base kit would make the game a lot less scary, unless you are 3-4 people, you will not always know were everyone is and it adds to the suspense. Also, it requires the survivors to scout if the killer is camping or not. Plenty of ways to play around not having kindred and it is really not needed. I see no need for it personally.
Thanat to be base kit would be too good on killers like Legion, especially if it's 1 injured = 15% reduced and add 2% per injured survivor. Keeping in mind perks like Dying Light, which requires you to kill the obsession, only gives 25% at max rank once this is achieved. Giving away 15% simply by keeping at least one survivor injured would be too much for too little work.
this doesn't make much sense, pretty much every solo survivor in high rank runs kindred you barely see people without it. It sees frequent use already so I'm not sure how making it a base kit removes suspense when people run the perk a lot anyway?
-
I'd rather not have someone next to me moaning and bleeding everywhere and drawing the killer to us or close to me when we're about to work on the last gen tbh. Unless there's sloppy or we're exposed then we healing up and sticking together to rush those last few gens if the killer is occupied.

Killers already lobby dodge bruh, they’ve been doing it for years so what’s the difference? You mean to tell me that justification for not improving the UI and quality of life features is because people MIGHT do something a little more than they’ve already been doing for a long time?
I think you guys like to exaggerate non-issues while ignoring the blatant ones like broken tiles and poorly designed maps that cause more disconnects/salt than the thought of a team being a SWF ever could. Way more people stop playing the game due to sh*t like that than they would if we know who’s in a SWF or not, considering most of the killers that play will play regardless of items or the team. It improves the gameplay 100% because you could utilize the 60 second lobby timer to swap perks/addons that you normally would never use due to the risks/assumptions required. This creates more creativity and kit diversity that people ironically complain about (wahhhh killers and survivors only use meta builds)
It will also aid in giving the killer foresight into what type of trial it’s going to be, you can then adapt accordingly and change the way you mindgame/pressure from the very beginning by using the SWF against itself. Gears 5 does this by putting a highlighted letter (A/B/C) next to the name of everybody that’s in the same party that way you know in advance you’re facing a duo or 3 stack which gives very useful insight into how to play. People also don’t disconnect often at all in Gears 5, I highly doubt highlighting SWFs would do much harm with dodging considering it already happens daily. I believe it would actually motivate most people to take on the challenge because they have time to prepare
And perhaps with SWF they can lock in the ready timers for survivors much earlier, like maybe at 40 seconds since they prepare among one another even before they queue up. Their items and characters are locked in, that way the killer who can already see the link on their names knows what they can prepare against.

@Clowning said:
I would absolutely love this, but the argument that always comes up, is that too many Killers would lobby dodge.
that's a fair point, maybe an automatic depip if they lobby dodge, both killer and survivors since survivors themselves tend to do that when they see console players in ther lobby.... Though I'm not sure how good BHVR system is with determining manual leaves and manual game closes from actual disconnects or crashes that might happen on accident
-
@Alionis said:
Why would this change anything? When I play killer, I automatically assume I'm going against SWF, be that 2+2, a group of 3 or a group of 4. It's much rarer to get a lobby full of solos, so the indicator would be pointless for that.
Additionally, an indicator doesn't fix any of the problems that arise from survivors being able to communicate to an extent the game isn't balanced for.
So I take it you have a better suggestion oooorr

I mean, I had a daily and challenge to get two sacrifices (as Pig). I tunneled right from the start. Nothing in your post really exonerates me. At that point, the people trying to stop the tunnel were already slugged, so I just hooked them for the 4k and got a salty message about how trash I was.
Two challenges in one game that lasted like 3 minutes, though. I can't complain.
Fair, but again I'm mostly talking about killers who're toxic about it, you can tell by the way they spam hits on a hooked survivors, and again they abandon an ongoing chase, even when the person being chased is injured to go find the very person they hooked first and get them back up again.
What I'm mostly trying to say is that anti camp and tunnel perks exist because toxic killers abuse tunnelling and camping even when it doesn't benefit them, they just want to be toxic. If people want to be comfortable with camping and tunneling at the very start then they can't complain about the powerful perks survivors use, but it's not healthy for the game and for those who play casually around those perks. Which is why people tend to flock towards playing survivor.
-
@PoweroSymbols3 said:
*Sigh* what people don't get is I'm sure 90% of the time someone might have a daily on a killer they don't like "complete 2 sacrifices as... like some stupid killer that the person hates" and they just want to get the challenge done and over with, can we just stop assuming the killer is making it personal for you?
You might want to read the post again I'm not talking about killers with dailies, even provided an example

Honestly it takes one toxic swf to set a killer up to play toxic their very next game. I play nice usually (no camping, tunneling, etc) but i find that the favor isnt ususally returned. The amt of times ive played "fair" and had 3 survs tbag at the gate is too damn high. Frankly a lot of survivors lack self awareness for when the killer is playing nice.
Keep in mind I'm not saying toxic survivors aren't to blame, only that toxic killers are ALSO to blame. I acknowledge that survivors do play a role in killer toxicity as well.

So clicking a flashlight that does literally nothing to the killer if they look away and allows the killer to continue to perform every action in the game is more toxic than the killer camping which literally prevents the survivor from partaking in any game action at all? Try again.
Thank you!

Yes that is part of it but its mostly cause are people not wanting to admit that their side is wrong for once and they just hate the other side for no reason its not you versus another person after the game is over we all play the same game and without the other side there is no game people don't seem to realize this and are just toxic to the other side just cause they are well not on their side. If people would just say gg, not complain, and not care how another person enjoys themselves I guarantee this forum would have a lot less complaining on it overall. There is no right way to play this game because its a game people play games because they like them being forced to not play the way you like in a video game is stupid and thats just facts.
Well it's hard to not complain when people genuinely go out of their way to make other people have a bad time. Not to mention people who complain genuinely want the game itself to improve and others want to see the toxicity in this community die at least less than other gaming communities because now this game has a rep for how bad the community is. Going into it that was the first thing I was informed of.
Also people will care about how others enjoy themselves if them enjoying themselves literally stops the other person from actually playing the game they paid for. In this case, tunneling and ensuring at least one person has no chance to do anything but hold shift and press space just because they stunned you once or you just want them gone from the game is prrreeeety... "unfun" and every other player paying attention usually knows how hopeless trying to counter that is. Which is why the solution is to just do the objective and leave. Not much of a game at that point.
-
@PureDoctorMain said:
This really is just a circle of pain and suffering I don't even know where it starts. The circle is clear one side is toxic to the other then the other then the side who lost to toxic ( add role here ) then becomes toxic to the next ( add role here ) then the cycle continues. It leads to survivors running bt, ds, ub, and dh and killers running NOED and camping and tunneling. It never stops it just keeps going cant we just stop the toxicity for once and just have a conversation where we sit and talk like adults and not scream at each other and I am ABSOLUTELY talking to some of the people in this post.
Honestly it's just a case of people not reading the post properly.
-
@milkybandit69 said:
If you flipped this post to "survivors also have toxic survivors to blame for camping killers", there would be an uproar. Perpetuating this kind of mindset will just continue to breed bad blood on both sides.
Like do ya'll really get hard tunneled out of EVERY single match by some bully killer at 5 gens? I get a hard tunneler/camper about 1 out of 10 matches when I play survivor. Its often a poor strategy that will only net a kill or two.
I mean, survivors do have toxic survivors to blame for killers being toxic though, hell even Otz, well known for being a kind killer tunnels and camps and punishes toxic survivors. I don't think anyone is saying toxic survivors aren't to blame for killers reacting badly
Also read the wording of the title, I'm not saying survivors AREN'T to blame, I'm saying killers being straight up toxic for no reason are ALSO to blame for killer mains having to deal with survivors running meta perks that make it hard to punish them for their mistakes because of people who choose to tunnel and camp at the start of the game. There's a reason why face-camp Bubba is even a thing, because it works. Plus yeah the killer loses in the end against en experienced group and most time they gain nothing from it yet they do it anyway.
Because they want to be toxic, which is what I'm ranting about. It doesn't benefit the very killers who want to play the game and punish survivors instead of playing around and invisible forcefield being the anti-camp anti-tunnel perks and items that speed up the game progress. I have gone up against many good killers and will go out of my way to defend them from toxic survivors who spam flashlight taunts post game chat and congratulate them for even trying with a character but damn a lot of killers are starting to feel so entitled that the survivor just playing the game is an offense to them.

IMO Perk Tiers should not be deleted. There are also new players in this game and those will run out of Perks to get pretty quickly. I have calculated it at some points, but both sides would have all Perks unlocked before they even get their 4th Perk Slot.
I would do other things to help with the Grind:
- Increase value of Category-BP-Offerings-->Brown 100% in the categroy, yellow 150%, green 200% to make them actually worth using
- Remove Category-Cap, but keep 32k Cap
- More Perks in each Bloodweb... 1-9 1 Perk, 10-25 2 Perks, one can be picked, 25-39 3 Perks, two can be picked, 40-49, 4 Perks, two can be picked, 50 6 Perks, three can be picked... And on top of that, let players keep their Perks when prestiging, either all of them OR at least Tier 1 OR a selection of Perks by their choice
- Teachables get unlocked automatically like Perk Slots.. So you dont have to pick them in the Bloodwebs. Small change, but every bit helps.
Those things would already reduce the grind.
@Topic:
BPs after the Anniversary were really miserable. And they will be miserable again after the Bloodhunt. IMO each weekend should have a 25% BP-multiplier, it will not be compareable to a Bloodhunt or anything, but it is something. And, on top of it, it encourages playing the game.
Like, usually, I finish a Survivor before the next Survivor is released. I finish Killers eventually, but since I dont have them fully levelled (still missing out on 7 Killers currently), I dont level a Killer immediatly when it is released. But, with this Chapter being two Survivors, I am very sure that I would not have finished them before the next Chapter, if there would not have been an Event.
And there will be the point where I will not be able to fully prestige (with all Perks) a new Character AND get their Perks on other Characters, before the next Character is released.
So they really should do something to ease the Grind. I dont have any friends who would be interested in playing the game, however, I dont even know if I would really recommend it. I have fun playing DBD, but if I think about telling them how much time they have to spend to unlock all Perks...
Like the suggestions with the offerings as well, like if the bloodpoint gains won't be addressed at least have offerings buffed because playing killer, despite rewarding more BP requires a lot of BP especially for the addons that get used after each game which make the job of killing less of a landslide with some killers.

Since they're most likely not going to do anything to reduce the grind, they need to be having blood hunts far more often than they do. At least that would be something to help alleviate the massive time investment.
Probably good to do it at LEAST on the last week of every month or on the first week of a rank reset as well as the first week of a new chapter because many people who aren't streamers might want to test the new killer/survivors out.
Like seriously having a long game and only gaining 50k bloodpoints from it is so stupid. At least if the grind was halfed I'd understand having a bloodpoint cap.
