nah stbfl is fine and no changes are needed. resources are better spent elsewhere.
It's a number change.
I think it's overtuned, but not OP.

i've always thought and said gen times don't matter if the gameplay is as unfun as it can get for one side but quoting someone else in a thread similar to this: "there is still 2 people progressing their objective meanwhile killer cannot against this perk combo". and no pulling off a ftp buckle up is not risky like a flashlight save, it's almost guaranteed.
The gameplay against it is fine. I have never once felt frustrated at it like I did against, say, locker saves or when people could bug on top of objects.
I think I've only had someone proc it on me once or twice because I HAVE EARS and will smack the other person whilst zoning the Survivor I was originally chasing.
Also, yes, it IS risky against a lot of Killers.
Oni, Nurse, Blight, Billy, Trapper, Myers, Huntress, Bubba, Spirit, Legion (you won't use it on him, tbh), Plague (you won't use it against her, tbh), Ghostface, Pinhead, Trickster (especially new Trickster, actual death sentence) and possibly Wesker, who may not give you the opportunity due to the slam.
-
I think it should go back to how it was pre meta-shakeup.
So, 6 Stacks at the max. Not a huge nerf, because it doesn't need a huge nerf, but something to keep it in line a bit.
-
It may surprise you to learn that some things are NOT equivalent in an asymmetrical game. However, I do think your point has some potential to be interesting, so here we go.
There are very few god loops left, most of which are fairly universally agreed to be unfair. Badham House of Pain and Garden of Joy's main building come to mind, perhaps a Haddonfield House, depending on RNG and the Killer.
However, I suspect you have a MUCH broader definition of god loop. Is that accurate?

Unironically, adding Part 1 Dio and Speedwagon.
Dio's got plenty of ability, he's got voicelines galor, he's a massive troll and he's extremely recognizable.

them making to any pallet or even going down under one is still a way better state since they were already about to be picked up. we are talking about bt-length of endurance from the point the killer already got their down, there shouldn't be much to argue about especially stuff like whether you can deny a fast vault or not.
You are sacrificing gen time for a POSSIBLE opportunity to delay a hook.
It's a risky wager that can be punished easily by multiple Killers.
It's best use is to delay a tunnel because the risk is worth the reward.

Consider the following: you down a survivor, they get instantly picked up while you're still wiping, they start running. They already have 2 second headstart on you while you're stuck in wipe animation. Now, they have 8s of Endurance, ~7m of distance, and the entire map to play around with. But sure, "just grab them lmao". Just like you could "just wait it out lmao" for old DH, and old Eruption, etc.
That is not what I was responding to.
Please, read the context of my comment.

they have an entire 10 seconds. if you block the window they can just find a pallet or another window.
You are still faster.
It is extremely unlikely that if they commit to a window, that they'll be able to make a safe pallet.

you can't grab a fast vaulting or pallet dropping survivor :) hope this helps with your issue.
You can force medium vaults, the Killer IS faster than the Survivor.
-
I think it's fine.
-
Guards cannot instant down.
Any perk that triggers on a health state loss will work with his Guards. Perks that require a Basic Attack, like Sloppy, will not work.

The game is, on average, Killer-leaning.

People don't like him because he removes most skill expression.

Speak for yourself. Many others of us don’t get harassed, dodged, bullied, or whatever else y’all say happens because of high prestige.
At most, it could be made an optional setting.
It can stay in the post-match screen.
You still get to show off and nobody can use it as an excuse to dodge or pre-emptively harrass.

By the way, remember when Flashlights were disabled for no particular reasons a few months ago?
Pretty sure I remember Pinhead crashing the game.
I remember Nemesis blowing up consoles and causing massive lag.

Considering SWF have generally caused some lukewarm perks to be considered toxic (HeadOn/FTP/BuckleUp/BoilOver) and had Flashlight saves from lockers removed, it would be disingenuous to say they haven't had some negative impact on the game.
So then we should also say that Killers have had a negative impact on the game with their various exploits and abuse.
That's just gaming, unfortunately. People are always gonna be dicks, that's just the way it goes.

MFT is by far strongest perk in the game. there is nothing on killer side that even comes close to MFT power-level. tracking is decent bonus to have on killer side but it is not game-changing bonus that makes you win the match on the spot.
MFT for skilled survivor can produce long game-winning chases if survivor is good enough at looping. you can lose games on the spot as killer from extended chases vs MFT. This does not mean that killer has no counter or gameplay towards the perk but the fact that strong loop setups can sometimes discourage you from pursuing the the chase showcases its strength. You still have to be like top-level looper to produce game-winning chases with MFT which is why I would still consider in the realm of balanced.
Contrast this with MFT where Survivors need to be experienced and moderately skilled to get any significant value and you can't be playing against certain Killers who aren't affected by it.
every single killer is affected by MFT. the question is how much you are affected by a perk and whether you can still win the match regardless if the perk is in play.
All top-tiers are affected literally 0%.
If you are a good Killer, you will still win the VAST majority of your matches, even IF Survivors run MFT.
As an extremely good Solo Q player, you will still LOSE most of your matches when the Killer runs UW because it prevents any sort of hiding the weak link. It also allows the Killer to know where you are at all times, which is one of the strongest things you can have as a Killer, ESPECIALLY one with high mobility.

You know, sometimes I can't tell if it's 2016 or 2023.

Teasing a rework (which i don't think they have ever done before) right around the time they could be teasing the new chapter wouldn't be the best of moves.
To be fair, re-releasing an older chapter literally right before a new one, that is supposedly a Licensed chapter, is also a bold move.

That's a pretty extraordinary claim.
Do you have any reasoning for it?
The perk is usable on every Killer regardless of skill level.
The place where it's worst is in mid-tiers of skill but it's still extremely strong. It outclassed every single other tracking perk in the game.
It pushes high tiers even higher and still buffs lower tiers a lot.
It's tracking is absolutely insane on Killers like Oni, Nurse, Blight, wesker etc etc. It doesn't matter what perk you have or how you opponent plays, you'll find them and kill them if you're even remotely skilled.
Contrast this with MFT where Survivors need to be experienced and moderately skilled to get any significant value and you can't be playing against certain Killers who aren't affected by it.

To be fair, Ultimate Weapon is a dramatically weaker effect than Made For This.
While I do think that perk could use some minor tweaks (largely to the tune of removing its Blindness, and maaayyybeee tweaking the active duration/cooldown ratio), it's hardly anywhere near as strong or potentially problematic as MFT was. The effect is strictly weaker in every way, being the weakest form of tracking that requires a terror radius (thus making it killer and map dependent), and unlike MFT, it has no crazy synergies that make it overwhelmingly busted. It barely has synergies at all, for that matter. Distressing, maybe?
The design space is trading availability for a weaker reward. Perks that provide much more valuable information, specifically auras, tend to either require more effort or have more conditions. To use the MFT example, it'd be Lithe's much stronger Haste traded for much less availability and extra conditions.
Also, as an aside, the statement "it isn't a problem for a perk to require thought and effort" doesn't inherently mean every perk must require that same thought and effort. Some perks can just work passively (or in UW's case, semi-passively) and that's okay, it's true of perks on both sides.
Uhhhh, very much disagree.
UW is actually significantly better than MFT.

This was in the FAQ -
Will new Stranger Things content come to the game?
We don’t have any additional Stranger Things content to announce at this time.
I hardly think any MAJOR license holder would want their Chapter (ie, $$$) to be overshadowed by Stranger Things return.
This leads me to one of two conclusions.
A) The license is Stranger Things and we are simply being trolled.
B) The license is bigger than Stranger Things

It's so funny for me when Survivors try to act like they don't want this OP perk in this game and they suggest a nerf that will not change anything... The speed is a problem... This perk literally constantly destroyes the game...
Made For This is very annoying to play against. Even I hate this perk, I think Sprint Burst is the best perk for Survivors - always was. Survivors just got used to these type of strong perks and most of Survivors don't get it how insane perks they have.
So then kill rates should be extremely low, if the perk is so OP that it "literally destroys the game."
Also, holy ######### I called it. Someone was trying to tell me the perk is better now because of the Endurance lol

Boon Exponential I meant the most when I said about "Boons". Other perks I mentioned bad>?
It's so funny...
I actually meant Boons as a whole. CoH might get you some niche value, but the others are still bad.
Also, DS is bad. Not to the level of throwing that perks like Exponential and Dark Theory are, but it's still not good.

Prove thyself, resilience, off the record, decisive strike, and adrenaline are all perks that are situational and benefit from using other perks with them to make them stronger. Your perks are supposed to synergize together, not perform 4 completely different functions.
Prove is straight up garbage along with DS.
Adrenaline has an appropriate pay-off for the punishment of only having 3 perks for a whole trial.
OTR is okay, honestly the Endurance gets me less value than the Iron Will effect.
Resi is also good, but risky.

Dh for distance was much stronger and more reliable. No disagreement here.
But my point about the more recent pre nerf DH still stands. A failed DH usually results in a down. That is a rather large downside. If the perk was as unreliable as you say with such a big downside then it would have been bad and unpopular even with unlimited uses.
Even the current limited DH is still fairly popular. Its not really at the top of the meta but definitely still viable.
I don't see DH hardly at all and I think I can count on one hand the amount of times I've seen a successful DH. Entirely anecdotal but still.
-
@Cypherius said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3576024#Comment_3576024
If what you say is true then DH would have been a bad perk even prior to its latest nerf and would not have dominated the meta. Having more uses of a "fundamentally bad" perk would not make much of a difference after all.
Dh for distance wasn't because it was....well, DH for distance. It was just that OP.
I don't think the slightly newer DH was that oppressive. It did have unlimited uses going for it, which I think helped it a lot.
Current DH has a maximum usage of twice per match, whilst causing Exhaustion so you can't use other Exhaustion perks, it's still ping dependant and it's Killer dependant.
-
Overnerfed.
BHVR just can't seem to help themselves when it comes to making perks so situational that you need three other perks, specific Killers from a specific area of the world and RNG on your side.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3576016#Comment_3576016
Did you just call DH bad?
A perk that relies on ping is fundamentally bad, especially in a game like DBD where the Killer has general action priority.
That's not to say that they shouldn't, just that it's a fact of DBD.

Another absolute fail from players to not know the difference between nerfed and obliterated.
I agree it's 100% nerfed. But it still pairs up well with dead hard or other ways to give yourself endurance.
Just cause something isn't superstrong and top 10 pickrate doesn't mean it's "obliterated".
It's fine. good players can still make good use of it. Just requires a bit more thought now
No, it's dead for the vast majority of players.
If your perk relies on another perk, which relies on PING to get value, neither perk is good.
MFT is just a poor man's Buckle Up and it will kill more people than it will save.

@Caiman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3575810#Comment_3575810
The "inconsequential" part is now the primary reason to run it, assuming you don't run other Endurance perks to gain the Deep Wounds effect for the Haste buff, such as Dead Hard or Off the Record. And I'd say 10 seconds of Endurance for healing someone is still a decent perk.
If there's one things these threads have shown to me, it's that people only ever cared about having a free speed buff, which just convinces me further that it deserves to be nerfed.
No, it's because the game has a plethora of bad Endurance perks like DH or Buckle Up that either require perfect circumstances or other perks in order for them to be remotely viable

In the right scenario, CoH is still a good perk to reset the team.
Meaning you need to be in a SWF or have competent teammates with a Killer that has a hatred for snuffing Boons
-
@Caiman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3575689#Comment_3575689
It doesn't only activate in Deep Wounds. It grants a 3% Haste when in Deep Wounds. The part where you gain Endurance for healing another survivor is active all the time. Now the Haste is a secondary function that synergizes with itself, and is not impeded by Exhaustion anymore. And that's fine.
So the part that I've been hearing is completely inconsequential to the strength of the most clearly and indisputably best perk since NOED for the past 4 months is actually strong enough to carry the perk?
