Any chance you’re looking to upgrade your console? With all these visual updates and content added, I imagine the game will get more demanding. Not making an excuse for its current state though. I think it should still be optimal on PS4 & XB1. Wonder how Switch is holding up...
I am not.
$600 minimum for a new Console to run a 5 year old game? No thank you, I would rather pay rent and eat.

You aren't tapping a gen in a chase, you can tap it right after getting unhooked and start working on it. But then the killer immediately comes back now your DS is deactivated so then you get tunneled
So, the Killer isn't tunneling you.
If you want to use DS, get tunneled.
If you have enough time to work on a gen, you aren't being tunneled....at all.

That makes no sense, if you tap one of those for one second it completely deactivates.
Why are you gen tapping if you are being chased?

Sorry so just to be clear your saying the abuse would be.....the killer is forced to stop camping even though he wants to keep camping right?
Correct.
Camping is something that is perfectly fine to do in a scenario that calls for it.
If the Killer sees a Survivor near the hook, he isn't going to just leave the hook knowing full well that said Survivor will unhook immediately.

Yes those are things that you are going to have to deal with as a console player a console is almost never going to beat a PC in performance. So I don't see how complaining about crossplay will help with optimization you're only shooting yourself in the foot.
It literally isn't.
CoD ColdWar gets a stable 45 FPS on Xbox One.
Battlefront II gets at LEAST 40 FPS.
Battlefield V gets 45+.
DBD looks worse and is smaller than all of these games and gets...20 FPS and constant freezing.
BHVR also promised 60 FPS on Console.

What does console players have to face on a daily basis that isn't just the inalienable differences between console and PC, the only thing I can think of is cheaters but PC players hate that too and its not like BHVR is ignoring them.
Stuttering, freezing constantly, FPS under 20, crashing ect.
Look at my thread on Console Optimization if you'd like to see examples.

I just hope it doesn't break anything too important this time.
It's gonna break something, I just hope it isn't something like hooks.

Thanks. And for what it's worth, I'm not saying people don't have to deal with awful things. I get targeted by a lot of racism and I'm white. Automatically, that means no-one believes me.I'm a minority of a majority. But that doesn't mean I understand what the Asian and Polynesian people in my country deal with. We go through different things. The best I can do is sympathise, but I genuinely cannot empathise.
Empathy is really just being able "to understand and share the feelings of another."
One needn't have gone through the same things to be able to understand the feelings of another person, it does help when they tell you though. If someone says they are angry about their experience with everyday racism, you can experience empathy from that because you understand the emotion they feel, not necessarily the experience.
I've always found it somewhat easy to put myself into other people's shoes and see things from an alternative perspective, it's part of the reason I enjoy debate so much.

I was terrified of the very real possibility of being assaulted and murdered simple for being trans, one that has only lessened but not gone away. My height and deep voice not only carries massive social stigma and work together with my skin colour to lock me out of nearly every job I could get, but also labels me as a target for the gangs I live beside because "no-one cares what happens to a tranny."
For what little it is worth, I care what happens to you.
But I digress, my point wasn't to show how much my life sucked, because I will absolutely lose that debate to most people and I apologize if it came off that way. I merely wanted to illustrate the fact that I do understand, on some level, what that feels like.
And I think other people can, to a lesser extent, empathize with that as well.

Most people don't know what its like. They really, really don't. There's a difference between not being invited to the table, and being actively persecuted.
I got bullied for 5 years in middle school/high school for being more feminine than other guys.
Actively excluded from most activities, yes. Publicly ridiculed and mocked by both staff and peers? Yep. Had my car vandalized with some slurs I can't say? Yep. Harassed both in-person and online? Yep.
I'd like to think that I can understand a little bit what LGBTQ groups have to put up with.
Many people do not have as extreme of an experience as I do, but they know what ostrazation feels like and can empathize.
EDIT: I have no idea where my original comment went, I can't find it :(

I've reached my wits ends with the game constantly freezing and never getting above 25 FPS. How in the ######### am I supposed to counter a 360 if I am getting less than HALF of the frames I should be getting, I'm being denied visual information.
Have some videos demonstrating my point, if you have any of your own, please share them. Maybe we can get an answer out of BHVR about what happened to the Optimization we were promised if we make a big enough fuss.

I almost died at a few days old, and my mom developed a staunch belief in God (I was saved by a Jewish doctor, so you could say that I learned to see people as basically just "people" at a very young age. That's why I consider what my understanding of "identity politics" to be offensive. I think that differences should be acknowledged, but not weaponized, and too many people out there these days are doing just that). Anyway on the other hand my dad had horribly abusive parents who used religion as an excuse to horribly mistreat him. For that reason I've always had kind of a middle ground position on a lot of things, including religion. Again I'm agnostic, and probably always will be. To me (to ME), trying to understand the existence or intentions of God are like an ant trying to understand the existence or intentions of the internet. We're just not equipped for it.
Again though that's just my own philosophy. That's all I'll really say about it though, I told the mods that I agree with the stance of "no politics, no religion" and don't want to walk back on that.
Evil people will use anything to excuse their evilness.
I'm not super experienced in the world yet, but I think I've figured that much out from my study of history.

I know a very good woman - she's my GAD therapist, actually - who is a very committed Catholic. She's highly intelligent, introspective and open-minded. We've had a lot of discussions about life and any number of deeper subjects. I've asked her how she feels about gay marriage. She said that, in accordance with her own religion, it's not something that she personally approves of or would take part in. But, she also said, she understands that everyone is different and that her own personal feelings about something shouldn't hold someone else's feelings on the matter hostage. She waved it off by saying "let people marry whomever they want, as long as they understand that I'm going to stick with my husband".
It's a healthy attitude.
That's pretty much what I follow, except I try to be a little more supportive.
My grandparents are very devout Catholics and they are both that way as well.

My philosophy has always been pretty simple. I've screwed up enough times that I've no room to judge anyone else, even if my religion says its wrong.
Besides, considering how much ######### gets thrown at the LGBTQ community, I've just got to support and love them all the more, to make up for it :)
If one of my buddies said they asked someone out, I may not scream per say, but I would be very excited and happy for them.

No, I do. Europe, to be precise.
For me, it's more the social stigma. Jfc people are absurd when it comes to "OH MY GOD YOU'RE ######### A GUY" when if it was a girl they'd be fine with it.
I'm well aware, though, that it's perfectly legal where I live. Under the law there's no issues.
Many others do not have this luxury and they need representation in their culture even more than I do.
Honestly, in the US, even where I live out in the country, people don't care.
You might get some jokes, or some questions, but nobody ever really comments negatively on it.
Hell, even at my private Christian school (it was the best school in the area and my parents had grown up poor so they wanted the best) half of the football team was openly gay for each other and nobody really said anything about it.
A shame it isn't the same where you live.

True. However, people have to realise that they don't understand why LGBT+ people want representation. How could they? They arent the ones ostracised.
I don't think that's entirely true.
I think most of us have been ostracized before. We've felt the loneliness and despair associated with it. People might not be able to get it but they can understand.
It's like someone dealing with the loss of a close relative. You understand how it feels to lose someone like that, even if you don't know precisely how they feel in that situation.

Except this isn't the case at all unfortunately. Frank and Julie, for one, as their entire tome was about it, but then also Nurse, David, and Felix in their own lore to a much lesser extent.
Just, have lgbtq+ relationships represented in the same degree and most people are happy. If you're not happy with that one you're either far too demanding or homophobic, cause we just want equality in representation.
To be fair, I don't think anyone liked the Frank and Julie tome.

Honestly being neutral and supportive is all most of us (and by most of us I mean the good people because let's face it every community ever in the history of existence has had some bad people in it) really could ask for.
I just treat everyone as human beings.
Religiously, I'm told to love everyone, so I try my best to do so.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2160193#Comment_2160193
Yeah, basically that! If you don't have experience in whatever it is, your opinion should be held with less importance. Like a trained doctor vs an untrained anti-vaxxer on the subject of vaccinations
Now that is another can of worms. Funnily enough, just the other day one of my black friends who I went to school with (his name is Hunter and he is studying medicine). He sat me down and told me all about the Tuskegee Study and used it as a reason why he'll wait to get a vaccine. I encourage people to check it out, it's honestly sickening what they did to them.
I have complicated feelings about LGBTQ and the community, but I doubt anyone would ever want to hear about it, so I try to be neutral and supportive.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2160190#Comment_2160190
It's- not really the same.
It's like excluding white people from having an opinion on black struggles.
It's like excluding men from having opinions on what you can/can't do with your body if you're a woman.
It's like excluding, forgive the extreme example, someone who's never been sexually assaulted from the discussion of #########.
Your opinions can still be valid but honestly they don't hold as much sway as the people who actually experience things.
Black people have a much bigger voice on black struggles because they go through them. Women have a much bigger voice on women's struggles because they go through them, etc.
If you've been represented by default your entire life, you don't really get an opinion on why it's important. You can still talk about it, but your opinion should be held with a lot less importance than, say, trans women on the topic of representing trans women.
I suppose that makes sense.
So it would be like someone without a medical background talking about performing surgery versus someone with a medical background talking about performing surgery?

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2160184#Comment_2160184
I couldn't think of a way to word it better, unfortunately.
Basically if you've been represented almost all your life you don't get a say on why we should or shouldn't have representation, especially if you have it by default.
That's what I'm trying to get at if that makes sense??
I know what you are getting at, but something rubs me the wrong way about that.
Isn't excluding people based off of things they can't control how we ended up in this situation to begin with?
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2160178#Comment_2160178
Well, now that pre-established lgbtq+ characters will exist they probably won't be there to be a token but just, something like, instead of "He can't go to his ex, she doesn't want to see his face again" to "He can't go to his ex, he doesn't want to see hsi face again".
Bam, representation, it's a subtle detail, everyone is happy. Except the homophobes.
Look at how Apex does it. Their newest character, it's a throwaway line ("She has her women") & that's it. That's all people ask for- equal treatment to what heterosexual relationships have been like.
Cause despite being a skin they're technically legendary cosmetics so a completely different character
And I think that's how it should be. I don't think many people will have an issue with that.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2160132#Comment_2160132
I mean no offence but as a straight, white male you've been represented almost all, if not all, of your life, so it'll be difficult to get why representation is important. Just know that it's not a political agenda, it's a biological fact of people's lives.
And, honestly, I mean this in the nicest possible way but your opinion doesn't hold much sway in this discussion for the facts mentioned above. Because you've been represented your entire life.
I don't know if saying people's opinions don't matter based off of their sexuality and skin color is a great idea. I see what you meant, but that doesn't sound right to me.

I didn't call anyone anti-LGBT, I pointed out the difference in attitudes. One side wants to be treated like the other is already being treated, the other side thinks what the former wants doesn't matter. They're dismissing everything a priori. How are you supposed to have a good-faith discussion with someone who doesn't care about what you have to say?
It is a sentiment being thrown around, see the comment above mine.
I, personally, don't think sexuality has any place in a game about killing people and escaping a malicious god. It never should've been mentioned. It was though, and we can't exactly change that.
The thing I fear the most is BHVR adding in token representation, where the character only exists to check a box. I hope they don't do that, but I've seen it happen a lot.
Additionally, I've been called a racist by quite a few people because I "clearly targeted them using a Killer known for being racist." Considering the current climate of the world, those are dangerous accusations to be throwing at people, and I suspect adding in LGBTQ representation will make that worse. I don't think that should dissuade BHVR from adding in representation, but it is something to think on.
Ultimately, as long as it is done tastefully, like how Nurse's backstory/husband was done, I have no issue with it at all, and that's all that matters.

Hard to keep it civil when one side has people saying "What you want doesn't matter, only what I want matters".
Again, that is their view.
Just because you disagree doesn't mean you need to be uncivil.
It is alright to disagree about things and it certainly doesn't mean whomever disagrees is anti-LGTBQ, it simply means they do not share your opinion on this particular issue and that is alright.
-
Steve.
Also, Nancy and Cheryl.

I normally stay out of these discussions, because they quickly turn nasty.
However, I can see that both sides of the argument have good points. Just try to keep it civil and don't attack people for not sharing your views.

It is down to the performance issues makes the game hella unenjoyable and frustrating that I just don't want to play anymore and it's sad because I used to play this game every night.
I honestly do not think they will fix it as ps5 has no issues so I'm told. Unfortunately acquiring a ps5 is just ugggh right now. Even still those that can't afford or stay on ps4 or xbox should be able to have a good experience regardless.
