Not sure why you are defending OTR, DH combo here, like it makes no sense that the game should be balanced in favor at high mmr for only m2 killers like you saying there is no place for weak killers in high mmr is absurd to me like seriously Pulsar like come on man you always say u played the game since release or close to it for long yet you never try to make it fair for weak killers to get a place in high mmr, its like shaming weak killers and limiting them from progressing forward.
Like i enjoy a challenge but not where my actual ability and gameplay does not affect the outcome, yes its a draw but at what cost, they finish match in less than the time i took to Q a match
Well, having a 78% WR is not seeming to me to be indicative of non-viability.
I have played for around seven years now, if you are winning the vast majority of your games, and complaining about the few you lose, then you need to reevaluate.

Yeah i cant go further than that it seems to just give me matches where i lose 2 then win 2 then the matches i have to just full draw because of OTR and DH
So then, what's the problem?
You are using a weak Killer, whom you dont have hours on by your own admission, and you are playing against people with more hours but still managing to tie the match. I understand being frustrated, but to say he isnt viable when you are winning the vast majority of your matches is sort of not true.
As to your second comment, that's not really something with the Killer then. That's something about you not enjoying it, for whatever reason.

78% WR is unplayable?

It's a nice video, but I've heard a lot of talk from BHVR over the years.
We'll see what actually ends up happening.

Remember, just like with colorblind settings, it isn't incompetence.
it is laziness and arrogance.
They are clearly CAPABLE of doing something about it. It took them 48 hours. They just don't care because they know the money will keep rolling in.

Item is still viable just no longer a 10-20 second free chase extension when used correctly on cooldown. I know I'll get downvoted for this but someone's gotta push at least A truth.
The truth is that it was a bugged item at first.
They've nerfed the opacity and now they've made it usable twice a match.
It's a huge overreaction, just like people saying it was OP.

It’s disappointing that the fog vials still block survivor noises and auras, even though most survivors really only care about the visual fog effect. Fog vials are still “quiet mode” that’s 4 times the area of fog crystals.
And medkits and toolboxes desperately need to be rebalanced, so they are around the same level as keys, maps, and fog vials. It’s clear that the new reworks of keys and maps are never going to be popular, as long as syringes and styptics exist as they are. And survivors are just going to continuing threatening to use toolboxes and medkits, unless those items are finally rebalanced (like maps and keys were).
somehow, brother still thinks they are OP.

Id say its not completely off the table, but Id rather not speculate for... reasons...
(if you know you know)
I, of course, am not a knower.
The only thing I'd be genuinely disappointed in is another RE crossover.
Other than Mr. X, who'd be too similar to Nemesis, I dont think any other villain would translate well. They also used Birkin as a Legendary.

They wouldn't, but if we as a community can actually push them to take action before they dig themselves in a bigger hole maybe we can actually see change.
We just got 2 REALLY big licenses, FNaF being the most anticipated license in the games history which had a rough launch and TWD is almost on par with Resident Evil. The next licensed chapter in November is set to have 2 new Survivors and a new killer, which is usually reserved for big ones.
If this next one also has a rough launch, you gotta remember we wont be getting another killer for another 6 months. That's 6 months of leaving a sour taste in our mouth in addition to killers who still need to be looked at.
Boy, I hope that November chapter is Stranger Things 2.
Might actually get me interested again.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3982164#Comment_3982164@GeneralV You're 100% right my friend. This makes me not want to report bugs anymore. I did it every week multiple times a week, I submitted video after video, reported hackers time and time again despite how tedious the process is because we dont have a proper ingame report system to help deal with this.
I am very frustrated and honestly disheartened. I try really hard to help the community where I can, I put a lot of effort here on the forums like many of you to vocalize for dbd and ultimately support it…but I am questioning that now. Am I even heard?
I made the longest thread in the Forums history to try to get BHVR to commit to their promise of console optimization.
@Pulsar said:
Recently, it's been getting more and more difficult to enjoy this game and to look over the glaring issues. The Console port of DBD has shown that the game is extremely poorly optimized, and performance will continue to get worse unless BHVR addresses the issues now.
I fear that soon, the game will become unplayable for us on current-gen Consoles. Resident Evil broke the game for a month, and it still hasn't fully recovered. What this shows is that the issue is built into the game itself, and will likely continue to worsen if it is not resolved. Likewise, we are seeing the return of bugs long thought patched, which makes me suspect that the entire code is starting to crumble under the weight of the game. I hope BHVR takes the time to do this correctly and fixes their game. If they do not, I fear we will soon lose the ability to play it at all.
Here are some videos demonstrating my points, please note that these were all taken PRIOR to the RE patch in June of 2021. These issues have been plaguing Console players since the game was ported in 2017. I doubt there will ever be an official confirmation from BHVR, but it is important that we do not let these issues go silently. The only thing we can do is continue to talk and spread awareness about them.

August Edit: Well, we are nearing 100 pages. Congrats everyone. We still haven't gotten an answer from BHVR about what happened to Optimization, but we have inspired others to start to question it. Thank you.

They just can if there's an open slot. Unfortunately when they recently added 4 more spectator slots, these slots are usable by cheaters to quickly join, obtain the IP of the server, and DDOS it. That's why filling up the slots prevents them from being able to do that. Idk how the cheaters got in though they just breached it i guess
Cheaters are always able to insert themselves into lobbies. Even if those lobbies are console only, even.
They just need an open spot in order to get in and then they have all the information they need to boot everyone off.

It’s disingenuous saying they don’t give af when most of the changes and ideas that have happened coincidentally all came from CC mouths like Otz, hens and Scott Jund
Most of there suggestions were actually taken and made into dbd
Maybe we should stop forgetting.
DBD, after 9 years of BHVR development, is less polished than BF Labs. BHVR isnt some small indie company, this level of incompetence is unacceptable.

Appreciate the apology, but the core issue wasn’t the livestream… it was that a 2017 PvP title can still be taken down this easily in 2025. Without concrete protection measures, the next event will end the same way, just with different names in the lobby.
and the dismissal of both otz and chandler riggs when they presented a solution.
-
They deleted the stream VOD lol.
-
They exist so that when someone asks for a pallet count, they can say there's more than 6 on each map.
These tiles suck and are useless against the entire roster. They are only genuinely useful for pallet saves, they may as well be party pallets.

Well, my friend, I wouldn't say the chapter release is worse than A Binding Of Kin, because that one really did break the entire game.
But overall I think this chapter is the closest we've had to that state of the game, and things… well, things have been handled poorly, at least in my opinion.
I mean, the game is so bad that they couldn't even play a single game.
-
@GeneralV said:
Yeah, I tried watching a little bit of the stream, but I just couldn't, it was really bad.
In recent discussions I have been saying that this is the worst chapter release since A Binding Of Kin, but honestly this is going beyond the actual chapter. The state of the game, and the things around it, are worse now than they have been in years.
I don't even believe it's worse.
It's just that this chapter has been a perfect storm of all the things BHVR has been ignoring.
The level of polish I saw when I was in the earliest BF Labs playtests was somehow higher than 9 YEARS of BHVR.
-
Pretty much sums up the state of the game.
Wild how they were told how to fix the problem and then ignored that lol
-
They got nerfed. Not sure how that makes them
-
No. I believe they already confirmed there isn't a Walking Dead Killer.
I'm sure we will see more $20 skins.
-
As long as it's a horror comic, I wouldn't mind.
-
no
-
Decent response, would've been better to say this prior to yesterday's debacle.
Feels like colorblind settings all over again. We see BHVR dig their feet in and say it isn't worth it or that it would take too long, there's a huge community outcry, and then the implement the changes people originally asked for in a speedy manner.

It was a regular brown toolbox with a socket swivel add-on (from using Ace in the Hole), not the engineer or mechanic's toolbox. And no, the +100% box does cut down the timer to 45 seconds if you have no add-ons, but endless stacks.
Normally, it only shaves off around 9 seconds worth of progress, if you don't run charge add-onsCommodius with socket swivels did not speed up the gen to infinity when I stacked it.
Can confirm that it isnt stacking addons.

point of order that Merciless Storm did deserve a killswitch, and got one.
Why that perk deserved a killswitch and not Streetwise is anyone's guess
It got killswitched, then was immediately broken at soon as the killswitch ended and was not killswitched again.
-
@ScottJund said:
Just so I'm clear:
Stacking a perk multiple times upon itself to gain an extremely unfair advantage = okay.
Stacking an addon multiple times upon itself to gain an extremely unfair advantage = kill switch
The inconsistency is baffling
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KNLJ091RAFMU/readout.png
I am half convinced that there is no killswitch criteria.
It seems like they just choose things at random, there's no way that Nemesis or SM add-ons deserved a killswitch if Merciless Storm or Streetwise don't.
-
@Coordi said:
Merciless Storm wasn't kill switched to my knowledge, as it wasn't game breaking. Nemesis abuse of PWYF was critical enough that the team moved forward with the kill switch. The criteria isn't my call or expertise; I'm communicating with what information I have rather than ignoring the thread altogether. I can and have takem the feedback to the team, however, that more player facing information on the Kill Switch and criteria is wanted.
I understand that you are working with a limited knowledge base, but surely, we can see that regressing gens to zero instantly and gaining permanent Bloodlust Tier III are, at least, comparable issues?
If Nemesis being unable to lose PWFY tokens was gamebreaking, Streetwise providing Infinite Items and Merciless Storm regressing gens to zero instantly were also gamebreaking.
Everyone here, you included I am sure, is frustrated with the lack of information and clear rules.
-
@Coordi said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3976884#Comment_3976884
Respectfully, considering how long it takes to even exploit the bug, it isn't affecting games enough to meet the criteria. I am not discounting the frustration or feedback about how it is being used. However, until it is gamebreaking, it will not receive a Kill Switch. It is a nuclear option.
Respectfully then, what is the killswitch criteria?
Looking from our perspective, Nemesis got killswitched for a relatively minor bug that allowed him to get 15% Haste. Not fun to play against, but not gamebreakingly bad.
Merciless Storm was bugged for months and constantly pushed gens to zero. Streetwise is enabling infinite strong items.
I understand that there is some kind of internal criteria, but it looks like the killswitch is just being applied at random. If the criteria were shared, with appropriate explanation, it could help smooth things over.
-
They didn't ban for Merciless Storm, they won't ban for this.

Where exactly did I say that the Myers played good — or that I wouldn’t have gone down against a good killer in that situation?
I literally said the opposite, multiple times. I still don’t understand your point. I already wrote this straight under the video, - i respond later already to this again to you .. and..to quote myself again:
Uhh, what’s your point?
That one comment was just a reply to xGodSendDeath, saying that I’m always down for memes and “weird plays”
as survivor— even though I play pretty sweaty when I’m killer.
It wasn’t some kind of proof that I always get easy escapes against strong killers. I don’t. And that’s how it should be.You’re confusing me by constantly assuming I’m trying to use a fun meme video as some kind of balance proof — even though I’ve said multiple times that it was just a reply to that one person who said they never get survivors who “give them anything.”
It was never about how well or badly anyone played.I’m still confused, honestly.
I keep questioning you because you responded to me twice and I wanted to know why.
-
@oecrophy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3976364#Comment_3976364
Against strong killers, you have to play like that — early run, always head for the furthest tiles you can still reach, early drop, and if things get tight, use the stronger structures at the right moment. (and pre-dropping is suuper boring too yawn)
It’s always the same patterns. It’s not like, “let’s see what I can pull off with this super unsafe tile.”Good teamplay and good cover can be fun at that point, but the whole “efficiency core meta gameplay” is honestly kind of boring.
And 4-man SWF makes it even worse — you just have so many tools to still recover things.
But a strong SWF can take so much momentum away from the killer, deny so much.
It’s still way too easy to mess things up as survivor and still win.You already responded to me?
You didn't even do anything super crazy, the mistakes you did make didn't get punished.
For example, that Myers popped Tier III from a mile away. Nobody does that when they are running basekit Myers.

@oecrophy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3976364#Comment_3976364
Sure, if I played like that against myself as killer, I’d be dead. But who cares?
You can mess around and try dumb stuff — especially if you’re not up against a strong killer.
You’ve got all the second chances in the world. And honestly, you usually know when it’s safe to go for the goofy plays.and.. When I leave my profile public, a bunch of killers dodge me. And if 2 or 3 killers DC or leave the lobby, you have this "backfill lobby" now and you pretty much know you’re gonna get "anything", and that’s the perfect time to go full meme mode.
The “comp meta” as survivor is just insanely boring. Early calls, early leave, early shift to the furthest tile you can still reach — and if needed, early drop. That’s it. Super boring.
My point was that it entirely depends on whom you are facing. If you face new Killers, obviously, yes you can get away with messing around. Much like if you play against new Survivors as Killer, you can get away with a lot of stuff.
You also know when it's safe to go for the goofy plays as Killer.
I am really not sure what your point is. All it seems like is you are trying to use personal anecdotal evidence to prove that Survivor is easy?

you'd need to elaborate on this.
i dont recall anyone else bring up the difference between kills and wins or 60% killrate ~ 50% winrate being disproven in context of MMR system counting 3ks as a win.
you can also see the numbers yourself and the other guy was kind enough to give me more evidence by bringing up other official 0-4k distribution %s which amounted to similar results.
Think it's been brought up multiple times. Just can't remember who typed an essay showing the math

Oh, come to my lobby whenever I play survivor… I’m always down for some fun meme plays. :D
I know how boosted the game is for survivors, so I often just don’t care — especially when I’m stuck with a weak killer.
Like… Myeri is coming? Ye, sure, you can have your one shot. :D Let’s see what you can do with that super unsafe map edge pallet.
And why not greedy every pallet? Just… why not?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7bYMRIniYE
I bet you’ll respect it anyway, because you’ve got your precious one-hit Shast and assume I’m gonna drop… xD
(As soon as it hits, well, I’m dead.)but.. come on, who cares, i have 100 second chances.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kD_Rn0nbDAQ
or why not be once into some roleplay and be the typical baby meghead? xD
I seriously thought this random Twitcher dodged me... but he just types NO. That was so good.
And then he even presses ready let it happen for me to do my baby Meg stuff that round xDAs a survivor, you’ve got so much space to mess around
:D
I don't think either of those Killers were any good.

i love how 60%killrate=killer OP adepts dont realize that 60% killrate means slightly less than 50% winrate for the killer if we go by the only metric devs have for the win - MMR system and win being 3/4k.
meanwhile according to this very system survivors win anytime they escape in exit gates and draw if they get hatch. there are multipliers, but win is a win for that system regardless.
it's not "1v1v1v1v1" like you'd like to claim, it's 1v4 for killer where they only win if they kill 3/4+ survivors and 1v1 for the survivor.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IRICD91886D7/image.png
so yeah, killrates do need to be 60%, even slightly above to average into proper winrate for killer.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/YIBMPJT6YD7W/image.png
on a side note, here's the only available big sample of data on kill count distribution. ~45% killer winrate. I think real average stats would be closer to 48-52% at best, hardly more.
how many of these 3ks the survivor made it in exit gates? I think a decent amount, but Im not going to make any conclusions, just some food for thought.
survs win way more than they'd like to claim.
Hasn't this math been disproven multiple times, or is that some other math I'm thinking of?

crazy mobility i agree on, anti loop not so sure, using you power in a loop is very situational and map dependent imo (excluding the kidnap tech here)
Why would you exclude it?
The Devs said it was an intended feature.
-
Take a guess why a zero skill instant damaging Killer is unpopular.
Combine that with his good anti-loop and crazy mobility, then you get a Killer which requires almost zero skill to play but gets results comparable to the upper echelon of skilled Killers.
