It's still not what BHVR would consider a GAME-BREAKING bug.

Inner Strength bug that got it disabled

Sloppy is pretty standard fare for Legion builds, I find it hard to believe he's intentionally exploiting. I wouldn't be surprised if he had no idea the exploit exists.

With the map and his add-ons, i don't think it's unlikely.

Pretty sure it's not, but even if it is, it's not that big of a deal that it needs to be killswitched. Killswitch is for game-breaking bugs, and this is not.

I feel like that's just an opinion.

If it were 25% faster healing speeds, mending speeds and Killer power interactions; there'd be a bigger outcry.

  • @AbsolutGrndZer0 said:

Yea, as others have said, it's purely visual. So no need to killswitch it.

It's not visual for Healing, Mending, Dispelling Crows and Snapping Out of It.

  • @KSzerker said:

It adds like 5s to mending, why would they killswitch an entire status effect for that?

It only subtracts like 25% from a gen. Why would they killswitch an entire status effect for that?

I dunno, because it isn't working correctly and is being abused by players to make unintended interactions?

The mangled status effect now effects mending time and recovery from the dying state. It's currently bugged

It does not actually affect Recovery time, it's only visual.

It does affect Snapping Out of It

  • Also, if they aren't able to fix it, they should seriously consider killswitching all Mangled add-ons and perks

  • Because it's easy. Sometimes, sure, it's necessary but most of the time it's just the easiest way to win.

  • Me, I'm bad at looping :(

No, it just means that the server rolled back the hit because of latency.

I haven't seen Reassurance be used impactfully in over 3 weeks. If you trust NightLight (I do not) then it has a measly 4% pick rate. It's really not a very common perk at all and it's even rarer for it to get value

Generally it's only really used in comp, because camping (as Otz explains pretty decently) is a much riskier proposition and so it...just doesn't happen much anymore unless the killer is getting chumped.

The power of DH has been significantly reduced. It's completely counter-able right now and is genuinely a skillful interaction between the Killer player and Survivor player. It is not even COMPARABLE to old DH which was press a button to extend the loop guaranteed, no skill required and no opportunity for an outplay. Base-kit BT, Off the Record and regular BT (which I do not see too often) are all counter-able by simply....hitting the Survivor as soon as they're off hook, even if you don't chase them, it eliminates any value they may get from it for the next 80 seconds. It's FAR easier for me to tunnel.

It was -38 Celsius last night.

    Tonight it's -24.

Yes, it's warmer than last night, but it's still bloody freezing.

DH is a bit of a problem, because it carries with it a ton of passive deterrence, almost like a survivor version of zoning. Getting hit by DH can be even worse than the old one, especially since our old friend 'fake hit' is back where it'll look and sound like a hit, which can buy that survivor more time.

The thing about baseline BT is that, aside from the killers that can completely negate endurance (this should be fixed), it does buy you time. You may die, but if you can run the killer for a while the other survivors may escape.

Yes, that sounds weak from a solo perspective, but survivor is the 'team' role.

I played in a sort of comp match the other week, so yeah, I get it. It's just not something you see out in the wild as it were.

  • I'm a big fan of "Dead Hard (With Rizz)"

Almost better than "Girl (With Rizz)"

All things considered, you fell for DH in the EXACT same way 3 times. I understand you can auto-pilot at times, especially after a long day of work, but that's not really the perks fault.

Nea got extremely lucky at the window of Shack. You pretty much could've guessed what Cheryl was gonna do when she ran towards you after being unhooked.

I'm just not really seeing anything super crazy here. This team wasn't super good either and you definitely could've steamrolled them, one person Dead on Hook at 3 gens? Yikes. But I get it, you wanted to play a little nicer and that's a good attitude to have and a valid way to play.

"BT, OTR and DH get cancelled out by simply swinging as soon as they get unhooked."

Many, many times they aren't able to get that hit through body blocking and if they don't it is much, much better. Are we talking complete potato survivors here or? Even average survivors can do this, doesn't even take a full team.

"Nobody runs Reassurance outside of a 4-man and DS is pretty much useless."

At higher mmr there is almost always a Reasurrance as swf of 3 or 4 mans are significantly more prevalent there and even in full solos it is quite common. You're downplaying how often this is ran by a lot.

"Compare this to pre-patch where we have old Dead Hard, slower pallet breaking speed, slower hit recovery time, bigger speed boost upon hit and 5 second DS that wasn't even disabled during the Endgame. It is 1000% easier to tunnel now for the average player."

New DH requires more skill and is worse but it is still god tier and the best survivor perk in the game. Don't act like it was gutted, you essentially still have the same perk. While yes killer got those things, you also got base kit BT into the game, a better BT perk, you still have OTR and old DS even if it's worse, and as mentioned Reassurance added in. It is 1000% not easier to tunnel, that's just false.

"Even if you play above the MMR soft-cap, you aren't getting "high mmr" lobbies very often"

If you play at very high mmr you know this is not true. If you want an example that streams very often to prove this watch Zebb89 stream and tell me how many of those lobbies look lower mmr.

"when you do and people you know, actually try, you will also have to try if you want to win."

That's a weird roundabout way of saying you agree with me.

"Many, many times they aren't able to get that hit through body blocking and if they don't it is much, much better. Are we talking complete potato survivors here or? Even average survivors can do this, doesn't even take a full team."

How inefficient are your teams? Why would they send more than one person for an unhook unless your camping to secure a hook stage/kill? That's very inefficient and works in your favor.

"At higher mmr there is almost always a Reasurrance as swf of 3 or 4 mans are significantly more prevalent there and even in full solos it is quite common. You're downplaying how often this is ran by a lot."

I don't know who that is. I do know that it's an undeniable fact that the MMR system isn't that accurate nor is it designed to be. If it were, you'd have insanely long queues as Killer. I immediately distrust anyone who says they're at high MMR, though perhaps that's colored by the oversaturation of people who think they're good.

"That's a weird roundabout way of saying you agree with me."

I was more pointing out that you were stating something obvious and I thought it was silly. If your opponents are trying their best to win and you aren't (assuming they're of roughly equal skill), the person who isn't trying SHOULD lose. If you do find a very good team, which is rare, and they are "tryharding" yeah DUH you are gonna have to match them if you want to win.

Because it felt more rewarding to play for hooks before the meta change, even myself on nurse was mostly going for BBQ stacks during this era before trying to murder everyone. Addons were more expensive so I had to make enough BP to refund them.

Victory should feel more satisfying for killer. If the game said gg when you got a lot of hooks but no kills, instead of the entity being displeased, it would feel way better and killers would play fun / meme builds instead. Back the day it was "disgraceful defeat" for 0k. What is considered a win has to change. It's OK if both sides wins. It is a casual game after all.

It's the same for survivor also, you should get BP for struggling on phase 2, and be considered a hero for the team if your sacrifice helped the 3 other survivors escape instead of being considered a loser.

I don't think there would be a huge difference in how people play, but I do heavily agree with this sentiment.

It is objectively not easier to tunnel now, it’s harder, that’s just fact. Built in BT, OTR being a better DS and while weaker DS still existing and even Reassurance to top it all off. We can argue more people tunnel now than before but to say it’s easier is just false.

Unless you are playing one of the higher tier killers or the survivors are making a ton of mistakes you are required to tunnel at higher mmr against equally very good survivors.

Most matches in the game you do not need to tunnel, but against equally skilled very good and higher mmr players you do.

BT, OTR and DH get cancelled out by simply swinging as soon as they get unhooked, the speed boost is often not enough to get them to where they want to be.

Nobody runs Reassurance outside of a 4-man and DS is pretty much useless.

  • Is that true for Otz? Maybe.

Is it true for the rest of the playerbase? Eh.

Kill Rates are way up since 6.1.0. The game is much easier for Killer in the average skill level.

Otz is getting it confused. Killers don't NEED to camp or tunnel. It's just that 6.1.0 made it easier and more rewarding to do so, most players will always take the easiest path to victory.

  • Not sure, it's rather odd.

Mangled is affecting FAR too many things and plenty of Killers are abusing it. It makes playing against Legion even worse, somehow. Doctor Tier 3 is impossible to Snap Out of at times.

Huntress Lullaby should be killswitched, but at least I'm not seeing it every game.

The problem is, people act like it isn't intentional.

Think of it this way. How do you prevent this from happening? You wait until you get a skillcheck, then you do it, then let go.

When can you NOT do that? When the killer is coming right at you. If a killer is coming right at you, i think you'd mess up repairing the generator too right? That is the point.

    Yeah, no.

Having random skill checks with ZERO opportunity to even attempt to hit them pop up the instant you leave a gen is a bad mechanic. Full stop, end of discussion.

Allow players to have the skill check follow them and cause Overcharge skill checks to auto-fail if you gen tap, if there simply MUST be a Killer buff

I don't use eruption or any gen kicking perk. Gen kicking perks, and the whole 3 gen strat is extremely boring to me. I just want to have fun chases. I normally run Lethal/bbq/deadlock/pain res

Ultimately, you have to decide what your highest value is.

Do you value having some fun chases?

    Do you value memes?

    Do you value winning?

For me, I value winning above anything else. Some people dislike that and I understand, it's not for everyone.

The build is fine. Lethal and BBQ are good for info and they're very reliable. Deadlock is a good perk, but I might swap it out for something else, perhaps Corrupt or Surge. Pain Res is a good general use regression perk.

Without seeing you play, I can't offer any tips in that regard.

  • @KingDeathly said:

I spent hours messing around with blight in a bot match, and then went to give it a try in real matches where I went up against a prestige 50 mikaela, they all had distortion so my lethal didn't work. They were most likely on coms telling each other where I went, and by the time I found someone 2 gens popped. Yeah matchmaking is really good.

Some of that is game sense, some of it is bad luck. It's just bad luck to get 4 Distortion gamers.

Even without Lethal, it's possible to tell where Survivors spawn (with certainty on some maps) and generally on others.

It's completely normal to lose two gens for your first chase. Killer is weakest at the beginning of the game and gets exponentially stronger the longer the game has lasted.

  • @KingDeathly said:

I think I'm ultimately done with DBD. I've spent 1k hours in this game, and mostly was for survivor, but solo Q has been a nightmare with the teammates I get, and when I try and play killer It just feels so one sided. I don't care what people say survivors have way better perks then us killers. They can bring more perks/items, and by the time I'm done with one chase 2 gens pop. I want to feel relaxed, not like I'm fighting a ticking clock. I want to be able to do chases, and not have to worry about how long I'm taking in a chase. I should be allowed to spend more then 30 seconds in a chase without multiple gens popping. The sheer amount of slowdowns we killers have is frankly insulting. I've spent hundreds of hours in bot matches testing, and other than eruption/ COB which is being nerfed soon there just no way to effectively slow down gens. I'm just so sick of the unbalance of this game. The majority of the player base is casuals, and its not our fault that the game has such a steep learning curve. Its not players faults for being bad its simply bad game design when you see so many players not able to be effectively good. A player shouldn't need 2k hours to be good at a game. Its just simply bad game design, and I wont put up with it anymore. There has to be other games that I can get more enjoyment out of then this stressful unbalanced game. Good luck DBD community. I hope you get better updates in the future for this game.

I'd still like to help :(

Although, from the sound of it, Killer may not be for you. Unless the matchmaker has screwed up and put Survivors against you that are WAY worse than you, you'll ALWAYS be racing against the clock. You will always be under pressure. That's just how the role works.

I somewhat agree with your last statement about we need to look at buffing the low tier killers and nerf the high end perks but my concern is how long it would take the devs to get around doing so. Say they nerf the strong perks now and that makes the low tier killers much wrost to play. How long will the devs leave those killers in a miserable state before getting around to buffing them. BHVR isn't known for their fast response time when something needs to be changed especially when it comes to individual killers.

For example last year they told us in a Q&A that they would be looking at the twins after the GF and Legion rework/add on pass. It been exactly a year since said Q&A and they haven't said a word about the progress on those changes for The Twins. Now imagine they have to look at more than one killer. It most likely will take them years to buff and balance the lower tier killers individually. This why I honestly wish they would take a pause on making new killers every 3 months and force on balancing the ones we have now.

    The alternative isn't good either.

If we let those Killers have perks that are so strong that they actually make WEAK Killers able to contend with skilled players, what about the Killers that don't need those perks? The Nurses, the Blights, the Weskers etc etc.

Suddenly, Killers that didn't need the help are getting it

  • @calem said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3333653#Comment_3333653

I feel as though you are purposely avoiding the entire point of the OP. It's not about Nurse or Blight being the best, or CoB/Eruption/Nowhere to Hide being strong, it's about how they're taking away the only viable slowdown for ######### m1 killers and NOT having compensating nerfs for the survivor side, or at least buffing said ######### m1 killers.

Without CoB/Eruption/Nowhere to Hide, we are left with Pain Resonance and DMS, slowdown perks which benefit killers who are already strong and end chases quick. They are extremely inconsistent if not just useless for killers like Trapper, Myers, Pig, etc. who can't get downs before 3 gens pop. What is left for them once Eruption is nerfed into the ground? Meanwhile, Prove Thyself and toolboxes with BNP are seen in 2/3 games without being changed. Awesome work BHVR.

First off, Prove Thyself isn't good.

Also, yeah, duh they aren't doing anything yet. We've just had a massive shake-up to the way the game is being played.

OP wants a kneejerk buff to Killers. While I understand the sentiment and I certainly think that there are many Killers that need adjustments, the fact of the matter is that most Killers are doing pretty fine across all MMR's according to Kill Rates. You aren't playing Ghostface against a Seal Team 6 SWF comp squad, you're probably playing him against regular players and he does fine.

When there isn't any statistical evidence (that I can see) showing that Killers MUST be buffed this instant, I support the wait and see approach.

  • @calem said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3333643#Comment_3333643

I mean, he didn't say you can't 4k as not Nurse or Blight though? Wesker is also not a killer that needs to run CoB/Eruption/Nowhere to Hide to have a chance. It's just an irrelevant point to bring up. And let's not pretend like you have a chance against really good survivors unless you're one of the big 2 killers.

Plus, no one is saying that the perks don't need nerfing, they do (although I'd argue only Eruption needs a nerf, the other 2 perks are only relevant because of Eruption being strong). We all know low-tier dumpster killers need buffing. You say "shouldn't WE take a look at those killers instead" like we as a community haven't been begging for buffs to them for years? This is just because BHVR is lazy, not because we haven't been asking for it.

Have you seen the DBD Twitter? You'd be surprised at what "we" have been asking for. I'd also say that only Eruption needs a nerf, although I might like to see Overcharge changed as well. I don't find it too strong, but I do think it punishes newer players far too much for how easy it is to apply.

You do have a chance against good Survivors as people other than Nurse or Blight, even lower-level comp teams. Besides, that's almost irrelevant as you won't get those teams hardly ever. Likewise, I'm pretty sure OP implied that if you aren't Nurse or Blight, you aren't gonna have a good time after this patch.

  • @calem said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3333639#Comment_3333639

I wouldn't exactly put Wesker in the same category as regular m1 killers though. He has mobility and an m2 that has built-in slowdown by making survivors spray off the infection. Let's not act like killers such as Trapper and Myers are the "same" as Wesker.

Also OP said low-tier m1 killers, so, definitely not Wesker lmao

"Not much to look forward to if you aren't a PC Blight or Nurse player!"

That was the line I was referencing.

Also, the OP is complaining that low-tier Killers can't compete against good teams without being carried by perks. Doesn't that mean the perks were way too strong if they were compensating for poor Killer balancing? Shouldn't we nerf those perks and take a look at those Killers instead?

  • @YOURFRIEND said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3333592#Comment_3333592

Personally? I don't care about kill rates. I care about gen speeds. It's easy to camp someone in the endgame and turn that into a 3k. Those are kills.. What's more stressful is when five million gens pop in your first chase.

So what? You want to make gens take 120 seconds or something?

Making gens take longer isn't going to help.

  • POV: I use one slowdown on Wesker and 4K, am I a PC Blight?

  • Even with these changes, Solo Q isn't near SWF-level.

But, the gap has been closed fairly substantially and that was the point.

We'll need to see how the kill rates change. I also believe we should re-add DC's into the equation for kill rates.
