In the trailer I believe they said the release date would be in December.

Bit of an irresponsible policy. This is the only online game I can think of where the devs wash their hands of content experienced by players in the game. Lots of games don't use your steam name as your in-game name, but just washing your hands of it means I could show you a video of something I experienced in the game, say someone has changed their name to "<my full real life name> should #########", and I report this directed harassment and because it's in a username, they get off scott free. Behaviour that's wrong and harassing toward your users should always be the concern of people running an online service.
If something like that happens, you need to report it on the platform for which they are playing on. Sony and Microsoft are pretty good at banning these names, so if you see something like that it's 99% a steam user, for which you need to report it to them.

I was more referring to a quote made during when somebody asked about the blight nurse to which they responded that it would come around next Halloween
In their first ever stream about the Rift (which is on YouTube if you're curious) they said the cosmetics would come to the shop within a minimum of 6 months to 1 year after it has closed, but were most likely going to go with a year.
https://youtu.be/dmFyEKu2CWcGo to 32:40 in the video.

I mean, they also said they were aiming so people would only have to play on average 1 hour a day doing challenges, but we know how much of a load of bull that was.
As someone who actually likes exclusive cosmetics, I would prefer nothing come back. But I'm sure the Rift outfits will eventually be released. Who knows when though.

*Maximum of 1 year
At least, that's what they promised anyway. Still waiting for the rift 1 cosmetics.
From what I've always heard/read, they said a minimum of 6 months to 1 year. They've never said maximum. They've confirmed the Nurse Blight skin will be in the store next patch, but haven't said anything else will.
-
On the bright side, if you miss anything it will all come to the store in a minimum of 1 year.

I think just the skins coming back all charms are not is my understanding.
That's what I think too. Although they never did specify themselves.

Depends on your definition of "dead", I suppose. I can find some older games that still have a small playerbase (myself included), but I consider those to be dead regardless, because a few hundred players (and decreasing) is not an active game by any means.
You know, I thoroughly enjoy both games. I started playing DBD and F13 in August of 2017. However, from that August to June of 2018, F13 had most of my attention, while DBD was just a fun game on the side I would play here and there. It wasn't until the lawsuit that I started playing DBD 'full time' and essentially dropped F13.
But as you mentioned, even before the lawsuit, F13 had a significant less amount of players daily, and I never understood that. When soley comparing the Counselors and Survivors (Not Jason vs Killers) I never understood how someone could find Survivor more enjoyable then Counselor. The reason F13 had so much more of my attention was because of how fun the objectives were. Sitting on a static objective for 80 seconds (or 400 for all 5) while occasionally pressing spacebar is not fun, nor is it engaging or challenging. At least with counselor you would have to search for your objective pieces, and install them, all while defending yourself and your teammates from Jason. Not to mention the game had more ways to escape and the counselors were unique. Which offered very varied ways to approach certain objectives. As opposed to the bland Survivors of DBD. Yes perks exist, but F13 had perks on top of Counselors being unique as well. It also made the objectives in F13 pretty challenging if you were using a Counselor with low Repair stats. And as we all know, the main objective of DBD isn't challenging at all, and that makes it no fun in my opinion. Not to mention it was a lot more satisfying watching the gruesome kills in F13 then it is watching the Entity kill a hooked person, or even watching the Mori's, which feature little to no gore at all.
My point being, the objectives in F13 were actually fun, while sitting on a generator in DBD well, isn't. It makes DBD feel more like a mobile game then a full fletched one, simply because it feels so simplistic compared to F13. I have a feeling the bugs and glitches are the main reason people laid off of F13. I can't wrap my head around the fact that people find the gameplay in DBD more engaging then F13. How in the world is sitting on a generator for 80 seconds fun? It isn't. And I hate how the main objective of the game isn't fun.
As another user mentioned, I can still find a full lobby in F13 way faster then I ever could in DBD. And that's taking in the fact that F13 has larger lobbies then DBD does.
I still love both games. I can just never understand how people found DBD more engaging. I will admit though, I haven't played F13 too much ever since the lawsuit hit, simply because the lack of new content pulls me away from it. I will always love DBD and play it almost daily, but a part of me always misses the engaging objectives in F13, and makes me wish DBD would add more intriguing gameplay. Something like having to find the parts to a generator before you can repair it, or adding more ways to escape. But I understand that would be balance hell.
(Again, my example was only comparing Survivor vs Counselor gameplay, not any other aspect of both games).

i could of sworn it was 3 month after the rift closes but I take your word for it I mean 6 is bit much tho giving then does 4 of these tome under a year we on to 5.
On their website they said a minimum of 6 months. However, in their first stream about the Rift, they said they were looking at more of 1 whole year of exclusive Rift content.
Either way, they didn't specify what content from the Rift would return. On their website they say 'most' items will return. But not all. Likely all of the lore outfits will, but we don't know much beyond that.
-
I just think it would be werid to have Amanda chase and kill herself. I hated the idea of the Spirit as a survivor.
-
Generally I wear bright clothing. Not because I want to be spotted, but bright clothing is often cuter. I usually dress my characters in cute/feminine styles of clothing because that's what I like best.
I'd rather look cute then blend in any day. Although I'd like to admit I'm good at both, I've hidden pretty well numerous times wearing a bright pink dress lol.

Yeah, all the challenge info is available, but we are not allowed to link those sites in the forum ‘cause they are DBD leak sites. It’ll be out in a few weeks anyway if you happen to not stumble across any of it. Some of the challenges are pretty interesting.
Do you have a link to what rewards are on what tiers. I know Paulie has that info but didn't share it and its not on the leak sites.

Tome V releases on Tuesday October 20th according to popular sources... some of the challenges tie in with the Halloween event. So it’s imagined that the event will begin on or around that date. Nothing’s ever certain tho, since it depends on wether or not everything Tome/event-wise is ready enough to be released.
Thats when the patch comes out. Tome 5 will release on Wednesday, the 21st. Like they normally do.

What outfit are you talking about? Not a Kate main so dunno what r u talking bout
Her Oktoberfest one. Since her top is off shoulder it looks super stretched when she moves her arms up.
-
Kates shoulders also look super weird and stretchy when she's doing a gen in her new outfit too.

He said "kicking over a totem to destroy it". That sounds like he expects an instant action to me
I highly doubt that. He was likely making fun of how the interaction looks. PainReliever is pretty intelligent. I'm sure he realizes how unbalanced something like that would be.
-
@CaulDrohn said:
His complaint about "rehashed killer powers" seems very biased. He implies that every killer after hag has some kind of similarity with existing ones. But then totally omits very unique killers like spirit, plague and legion. No word about Pig, Demo, PH either. Maybe I understood that wrong. But having more then 20 killers, of course there will be similarities. Comparing Billy/Bubby, Myers/GF, BIlly/Oni, Huntress/DS is perfectly fine, but comparing Clown to Huntress, for real? Freddy "another trap based killer", so what? HE plays fundamentally different to Trapper and Hag. If anything he should have compared Freddy to Clown. Claiming that Blight is just another Billy is also absurd, what a way to dimish the very unique and creative pinballing movement.
He specifically mentions in one of his streams that he thinks Plague was the last 'unique' killer. I believe he omitted them because he believes those killers are indeed unique.
-
@Deadeye said:
I also heavily disagree on point one. You would need to rework totems entirely for example, when you could just smash them by passing them. I don't think there is something wrong with having interaction time at all, that is a pretty subjective description and not really a "main problem". I even know people that say "just let me sit on a gen for a minute please, goddamit!"
Agree with this being a pretty survivor sided view. Perks may touch killers as well, but that is not a 'killer view' as it touches both sides. He even mentioned it as downside that breakable walls are only killer interactions
Agreed on trash perks. Diversity is great, but they are too afraid of creating strong perks. For example, make Cruel create dead zones. Not time limited but constant. What do survivors do when they get chased with 1 or 2 gens left? Loop the areas where gens are done to pull you away from gens being worked on. This perk would help you with that, by creating deadzones for survivors as well, not only for the killer. I know this is very strong, I also thought so first thought. But I think it is far away from OP, survivors will know about it so not randomly running into death traps, and ofc you could adjust this by reducing the range to maybe 20m or whatever. But this change would actually increase the pickrate of this perk. It targets a specific issue killers might have, help them with it and be able to replace a perk like Pop, Ruin, BBQ or Sloppy
Agreed that killer powers became less creative (which is kinda natural as it becomes harder the more you do), but his rant is a bit over the top. I mean, Slinger = Huntress + Legion?? Come on...
I don't think when he meant by smashing the totems that the interaction should take less time. I think he meant it should take the same amount of time but be more engaging for the Survivor, as staring at a loading bar is rather boring.
Same with breakable walls. I had seen someone mention that survviors should be able to build the breakable walls that the killers would then knock down. They wouldn't spawn already built. That involves some kind of interaction that would move survivors off gens and be more engaging for them.

While I do agree with all of his points he never stated anything from the killer side besides bad perks, but I do agree
Yes, I noticed that. There are definitely problems on both sides for sure.

So MacMillan didn't get unique exit gates either. I'm not too mad about it since it's like the original map, but still a little disappointed.

That's what people WANT but probably not what they're going to get. In the past its always been one pair or the other. Except for the rabbit suits which are literal recolors.
If There were more then one outfit, they would be listed in the files as *outfit name* (Frank) and *outfit name* (Julie). Like they usually do with the paired cosmetics. However, only one Legion outfit has been found in the files, excluding the community contest outfit.
The Blight outfit is called 'Chimeric Horde' and its description is as follows: Repulsive. The serum has grafted the four specimens into a single creature, three of which are entrapped within the flesh of the host, ineffectually attempting to escape.
That sound like one single outfit, in which Frank, the host, has the 3 other members trapped within him. If Julie was getting her own separate cosmetic, it would be listed in the files. But at this point in time, it's not.
-
@Tactless_Ninja said:
Legion is a minimum of two costumes. They always do Frank and Julie. Joey and Susie get left out in these situations.
And yeah, then there's Oni and D-slinger so that already fills up the roster. Real question is which survivor will get one.
Legion Is one outfit. Julie, Susie, and Joey are morphed into Frank into one single serum corrupted outfit.
-
I just want them to make legacy for the other characters too.
-
They'll probably end up making it a code you can redeem from the store.
-
The devs will never allow mix and matching between legendary sets. It wouldn't make sense to be able to swap two completely separate character models together, nor would it work due to them having different character meshes. The non-legendary character sets though, for example Nea's graffiti outfit, Janes Greek dress, and Kate's Oktoberfest set all have a higher chance of that being a possibility due to it being the same character model.

As much as I'm a biased Min and Legion player. Honestly if the relaxed bun was Min default hair I would have picked her. I really dislike her coconut hair bob I hope when they do the character model updates it gets improved
I'm also taking licensed characters out of the equation. (Sorry Amanda it would have been you otherwise)
Survivor: Yui- Interesting bike aesthetic absolutely loves her jacket. Honestly I really like the goggles that she wears and I love her long hair.
Killer: Deathslinger- The Western aesthetic is just so good. They also managed to give him this dried up look without making it look completely is zombified or inhuman which I like as well. I do really like how crude the default Redeemer looks you could tell it's a improvised weapon that was made back then because it doesn't look too clean or efficient
I like Yui's hair too except the quality on it seems so so bad. It looks like pieces of hay or noodles. For some reason it just looks so downgraded in quality when compared to the other hairstyles. It also has a permanent curve on the end for some reason and that bothers my OCD.

Dwight because he's one of the only survs to have an animated part (his tie) with his base outfit.
Legion since you can chose between two genders.
I know you said one of the only, meaning not the only one. However, Meg's pigtails. Quentin's necklace. Tapp's badge. Kate's hair, necklace shirt, and bracelet. Adam's coat. Jeff's hair and handcuff. Nancy's hair and necklace. Yui's hair, necklace, and jacket. Zarina's hair and scarf. I'm sure there's some I missed. My point being quite a lot of them have animations on their base outfit lol
-
I like Kate and Huntress for base personally.
-
They never created photos for them, so it won't happen unless they do that.
-
They said a minimum of 6 months to 1 year. So I would expect within the next couple of months at the earliest. Regardless, it could be longer then that but it will eventually be in the store no matter what.
-
I couldn't count the amount of times I was downed by his power because the interaction lock due to the pallet, and if I hadn't threw down the pallet, I would have gotten hit regardless because he was too close. To have the pallet be your only option of safety and then have a killer like PH make it unsafe 90% of the time was so frustrating.
-
Sometimes I'm just too lazy to put one on and just stay on my phone lol

I will check my pc to see if I have videos or pics, I usually just record bugs or stuff like that but hopefully I have one with the mask.
But if you can help me with something else, how do I find when did I purchased deathgarden? I have no idea when it comes to steam
Isn't it still obtainable as long as you're on PC? Deathgraden is free so anyone can install it and get the mask can't they?
-
@Mikeasaurus said:
It is kind of disapointing, but they could just add a special sound effect, like Midwitch. That has a normal gate,but when the gate opens, it activates the SH Siren, which from the game is usually the sign that the Otherworld is coming to an end. So they could make something unique from that. Badham could maybe play a Freddy tune, and Yamoaka could play maybe ghost sounds of ancient Samurai that haunt the grounds. Something unique like that on each map would be pretty cool
I do like the sound effect.

Those gates emit steam with each light, but use the same beeping audio that all the gates use when the third light turns on.
I was hoping for more of a classic steam-powered train whistle noise to be blared a few times instead of the beeps.
Ah I see. Still better then nothing.

I was definitely sad that the Dead Dawg gates didn't use some kind of steam whistle sound instead of the standard 3-Beeps when the gate is nearly open.
Doesn't It though? Steam comes out and has a sound at each light.

@NepalibyDaylight said:
Another cool thing would be if blood warden have different effects too on different maps. Like on yamaoka there could be a bamboo pit that opens up with blood warden.
I don't think they would change that. As those spikes are technically the entity itself. Which is the same thing that blocks generators and vaults with Corrupt and Bamboozle. I think the devs want to show clear that the entity itself is making a change as soon as it happens. As opposed to the map changing to fit it's environment.
-
@MeltingPenguins said:
Yeah, there should be unique gates for the maps (also Dead Dawg needs a different sound effect... and MAYBE change the lightbulbs to gaslamps that flare up)
Badham could be an alarmclock, btw.
Also, I don't remember if this was mentioned as something they are planning, but will we also be getting unique Gens for every map at some point?
In terms of the gens, no I don't think so. At least I never recall them mentioning anything about that.
-
@Peanits? Not sure if you'll see this but thought I'd give it a try
-
@Buttercake said:
Dead Dawg is my favorite map and also cool exit gates. Maybe they will give all the maps special exits over tine. They've been adding so much lately. I love all the new updates...well except gen sound but at least they tried. 😊
Yeah there's always a chance they'll change them later but what better time to change them then now? When they're already updating everything else on the map.
Now I'm afraid this won't be a feature in future map updates and that is very disappointing. Yamaoka's exit gate could've looked so cool! :(
-
@herrik666 said:
That's actually quite a good point. One of my favourite features about Dead Dawg is the unique switches, kinda sad that other maps aren't gonna get them. Then again if I was a dev I don't know what would I do to customize an original exit gate for every single realm.
I'm Pretty disappointed too. At least make the doors look more unique if not the switches. I love how they changed the shack to match the realm, I would love the same done for the exit gates.

It's based on how often you see the survivor the perks belong to being played in matches.
It's more so just based on their price. Iron Will is run way more then No Mither yet the rarities are switched.

I've decided to bump this on Mondays instead of Fridays.
-
I've decided to bump this on Monday's instead of Fridays as I believe the devs are more likely to see it.
