It feels so good that as a Twins main I don’t have to sweat or run Corrupt Intervention to try and slow the game down.
Ill still lose against a good surv squad, but that’s any killer really.
The killer experience is so much more enjoyable though there are still frustrations.
-
Boo hood streamers are bored. Meanwhile I’m not. Knight and Skull Merchany may be trash, but I know a werewolf is on the horizon.
8v2? No thanks. I’ve seen that idea thrown around for years. That’d be a $h1t show.
Now a “no hud, no perks” mode would be fun.
QoL stuff would be nice after the anniversary.
Can’t wait for the new killer!
-
I’m not lying when I say I reached Iri 1 on both surv AND killer In just under 2 week’s time since the new patch.
Of course I play DBD a lot maybe 4-5 hours late day/evening , more on the weekends, but still… before it would take me almost an entire month to do that.
Killer is still frustrating at times but when I’m demolishing survs at night , well, I can’t complain lol (no offense, survs!)
It’s SO nice to get downs now , especially early, without everyone running DH. In the past 2 weeks since the new patch I’ve had like 2 survs running DH.
I do see some games with CoH but it’s not the toothache it once was.
So yes Killer still somewhat stressful but not at all like it once was years ago or even prior to the new patch!
Now all I ask if they can just get rid of depipping! 😊

It works pretty well with Legion running the Oblivious + Broken Add ons. Not to mention the timer refreshes if you hit someone else while it is still active.
The annoying thing is that Survivor and Gen auras being the same color makes it hard to notice instantly. Changing gen aura colors would remedy this
^^^ THIS. I tried it once on my Twins but couldn’t see any survivors! Lol Either they weren’t repairing or at bad angles behind gens.
Maybe the Gens should be yellow in this case?
-
Maybe it’s time for Behaviour to implement bots at any point a surv DC’s (except on death hook).
Just save the surv’s current health state and items then swap in a bot to take their place. Seems easy peasy..
-
There SHOULD be DC penalties and soft/perm bans for VALID reasons: rage quitting / leaving the match at any point.
HOWEVER.. I believe if OTHER people DC before you, and screw the match over, then anyone else DC’ing after the initial DCers shouldn’t be penalized with a soft DC ban.
For instance: I’m a solo surv. I can’t tell you how many games I’ve gotten into matches where 1-2 other survs DC early at 4-5 gens. Im not talking DC on death hook.
So what am I supposed to do at that point? 3 survivors are not going to finish 4-5 gens. So If I “Leave the match” at that point, I shouldn’t be penalized. If the Killer were to leave at that point they shouldn’t be penalized either.
Let’s not forget AFK survs. Or survs that intentionally throw the match early and die on hook.
I don’t mind being soft banned for rage quitting, but we shouldn’t be soft banned for DCing if someone else DC’d first. That’s my 2 cents.
-
Since the patch I’ve seen like 2 DH’s total, and I reached Iri 1 as killer (Twins main) last night.
Sprint Burst & Lithe are easy to handle - just bait them out. Leave the surv, circle back to them for the hit/down when SB/Lithe are on cooldown. Or find another surv.
Not all survs run exhaustion perks.
-
There should be something to break or prevent a 3 gen. It shouldn’t even exist to begin with.
-
I’m a Twins main prestige near 50, so, yeah.. Twins.
My faves before her stew Hag, Doctor, gunslinger and Billy.
on console I avoid and killer that requires précis aiming like huntress. Would LOVE to play huntress but she’s horrible on console. Too bad I stopped playing on pc
-
Lol at the title . Sorry no , no one wins 1,000 or even 50 games in a row as killer OR survivor.
-
As a solo surv, It takes me about 2 weeks to get to Iri 1. That’s with dealing with the -1 depip nonsense when we get destroyed by killer or teammates meme and die early.
I don’t know how often I escape, but I wouldn’t care so much IF THE GAME STOPPED DEPIPPING!!!!!!
-
LOVE it.

-"Then you'd get situations where survivors dodge the killer by running directly at them to phase through them, which from the killer's limited FOV would be confusing as hell."
No we already came up with a solution to that years ago:
If you run into the killer your movement stops for 1 second and you fall into a recovery animation and have to get up from the ground (think falling over in MWO).
No.
-
After a 2 y ar break coming back in December I’ve been playing nonstop.
Game still is a hot mess but an enjoyable one. Better in some regards, not so much in others.
Now if you’ll excuse me I have a killer to loop…
-
I posted an idea like this a few days ago for Killers.
It’s my belief that each perk’s effects should scale based on killer. So more mobile higher tier killers have lower effects for a particular perk while lower tier mess mobile killers have a greater effect for certain perks.
Each killer Perk has its seconds/percentage/etc scale based on the killer. Just a thought.
I don’t think this “one size fits all” approach works.
Maybe things should scale for survivors based on solo vs SWF.
If solo then maybe you get speed boost. If SWF then maybe killer gets a boost.
Never gonna happen though
-
I’d still prefer a “store” where they’re all in a catalog like the Tome and I just buy what I want , am not forced to waste BP’s on trash like mist and so many garbage browns.
Just let me buy X stacks of survivor pudding at once. Then the ultra rare items are just more expensive. Like 50,000 BP for a BNP for example.
Bloodweb is outdated at this juncture.
-
Killers like this are the bad apples that ruin the bunch.
I only tunnel as a last ditch effort if I’m not getting hooks/kills and survivors are popping gens.
I’m not into ruining peoples’ fun either.
-
The problem isn’t really about gen regression at all. It’s bigger than that.
I’m an older Twins main player and I get to Iri 1 rank (or very close to it) every month and I don’t run any hexes or gen slow down.
To me it goes like this, no matter the killer, no matter the perks:
Competent skilled survivor team: Killer will most always 0-2k
Not-so-skilled and competent: 3-4K most every time
It’s not the gens going fast, it’s not so much the perks getting nerfed, it’s the fact that this is an asymmetrical game where 1 skilled killer player has to fight against and manage 4 other equally skilled players. 1 little mistake by the killer against a good team can lose the match . Not to mention the map.
The perks are not really going to define if you win or lose. Perks are just 1 part of the equation.
It comes down to skill PLUS balance issues , killer mobility, map size/balance/layout, THEN perks, etc.
Killers should be viable and win 2k every game no matter who they play against . 0K and 4K should be rare. But they are not. The game is so unbalanced that good survivor teams usually steamroll killer and good killers wipe SoloQ. That has been the problem since time immemorial.
-
50/50 Killer Survivor player here.
Survivors DC far more often than killers.
Almost every other match when I play killer and find a survivor early it’s often a DC.
Then there’s the 2 early DC’s if they are an annoying meme duo.
And almost always a DC when someone hits death hook. Don’t want to give killer that well earned 4K.

Ya know, I never thought about this but I do think that's genuinely a good move, largely because most game you have to dedicate 1 perk to gen slowdown and another to either Franklin's or light born most of the time.
That’s exactly my point.
-
1-2 more perks slots for killer.
-
No.
-
what do you mean “team”? I don’t know these ppl or owe them anything. I’ll DC or die on first hook as I see fit and if it suits me.
it’s a video game. This ain’t work.
-
Devs what are you doing with reverting the altruistic healing esp. with COH?
I main Twins and I was looking forward to that extra healing time so you know the time it takes to down switch to Charlotte and walk over to the downed survivor would help.
Most survivors know to group up against Twins so thanks for nothing!
-
So much for Twins getting that shadow buff, huh?

I agree but depip standards should be also lowered on killer. I can make it to iri 1 on killer if I really want. Currently im on iri 3 but I need to sweat to just get extra 200K bp so I will not try to get there. I have depipped even as killer while getting 4K:s...
Yeah killer too! For some reason I find it a LITTLE easier to pip as killer than survivor
-
Killers need some kind of “breathing room” or ability to chill.
For example: I’m on gen, I see someone getting chased, I can relax.
This same principle should apply to killer somehow.
What if all gens were blocked every time someone was hooked? Just saying that killers should have time where they can “relax” too during the match.
-
as a twins main I’ve played at least 6 games in a row on PS5 and no problems. Seems completely fixed to me.

Ngl I get more enjoyment playing twins than her. So satisfying getting a down with them.
One of us!!!!

So thanks for the recs on using Corrupt, I’m getting a LOT of value out of it and helping me to get hooks often before a gen is complete. I sometimes park Vic near a free gen at the start then try to injure as many as I can before downing and losing corrupt.
-
@Mew said:
im glad you arent on the dev team
Me too! I probably would’ve quit though if I was 🤣
-
I rarely dodge as a killer. I don’t care about prestige. I can get whooped by low prestige and can run over highs.
Prestige should be hidden though. It has ZERO gameplay impact on the game but very psychological. Get rid of it. What the point!?
I’ll tell you what I’m sick of: 2 man SWF , one with a flashlight, working together and when I counter them early and target the flashlight person they both DC. That leaves the other 2 survivors in a terrible place with 4-5 gens still to do.
If I could dodge THOSE people every single time, it would be great.
Sabo squads are annoying but not as bad and one reason I usually always run IG and Lightborn or Franklin’s. They usually never DC which is kinda funny.

Your intentions are good, and I don't think anyone would disagree that making underperforming Killers more competitive is a good idea, but there's a lot more to game development than simply telling someone 'fix everything'. I'll give a quick and simplified example of what this actually entails.
You're told to buff any underperforming Killer. Your first step is to do an analysis on which Killers require your attention. While doing so, you're going to find that most Killers seem more or less where they should be, but if you start to dig into specifics, you might find that some are performing really well in some skill ranges and poorly in others.
And so you'll need to dig deeper and find out why that's the case. Why are some people doing better with them than others? Is there something that more skilled players are taking advantage of that average players aren't? Have good Survivors mastered playing against a certain aspect of their power while average Survivors struggle? This alone is a lot of research, sifting through countless threads, video, streams, and even working with our data team to draw data from thousands of matches.
Once that's done, you'll need to figure out how to change them. What is a change that will make them more competitive in the ranges where they're struggling, but won't make them frustratingly overpowered in the ranges where they're already doing well? The Nemesis is a great example of this. Shortly after he was released, we found that he wasn't doing so hot in high skill lobbies, but he was doing very well in low skill lobbies. Upon further research, we discovered the high skill players were more likely to mutate his Tentacle Strike. And this was the key: We could safely buff the third tier of his power to make him stronger for high skill players without making him too strong for average players (where he was already doing well).
Next, you'll need to find the time to actually slot this update in. This is a very complicated part since every department has only so much bandwidth for each update. If your changes require animation support, for instance, you might not be able to squeeze your rework into an update that already has a bunch of other animation work required (such as a new Chapter).
When you find a spot for it, you need to playtest it and see how everything feels with a wide variety of players. Is it too strong in some cases, or too weak? Does this solve the problems you've set out to solve? Is it intuitive? Are there any control or feedback issues that need to be resolved? Depending on the complexity of the changes you've made, this can be a back and forth process that requires a lot of iteration.
And finally once all that is done, it needs to go through polishing and QA before it can finally hit the PTB, where you may have to iterate on it some more depending on how people feel about it.
All of this is for one Killer. There are soon to be 31 in the game. Meanwhile, you also have problematic perks, maps, mechanics- you name it- that people are giving feedback on which also require your attention.
Thinking, "Hey, let's buff weaker Killers" is only step 1 of the process, and it's a thought that everyone has had. If it were as easy as that, I promise you we would have done that already. Balance changes like these can take anywhere from weeks to months of work depending on their scope, and while we would love to be able to snap our fingers and do this for the next update, we're talking about literal years of work for this alone, let alone Killers who may be too strong or perks.
So yes, the intention is very good! But the TLDR is that it's not as easy as you think.
I understand, and not trying to argue, but… it’s the company’s game.
I would think that the owners/devs and everyone involved with the thing they own would KNOW what needs to be addressed.
Like … if my house has leaky pipes, mold, mice, yadda yadda yadda and my parents say “when are you and your partner gonna take care of those problems” yet we insist on ignoring them and spending money on shiny new car parts.
So yes things take time, resources, etc., but c’mon (being nice here) it’s your product. You should know it inside and out.
-
I’ve been playing Twins fine on PS5. The only bug I’ve experienced since the last patch is not seeing Victor when attached to a survivor.
Someone said you shouldn’t when the survivor is trying to remove him but I looked at an older YouTube gameplay video and I swear I saw his aura while the survivor was trying to remove him. Or I’m going crazy
-
I room took like a 2 year break no lie. I am enjoying killer now more than before. Of course I’ve grown a bit and mellowed out, and there is still some anxiety, but the killer experience is overall more enjoyable.
BUT…… the game still has its problems.

Who unironically runs Iron Grasp?
- Agitations is right there for people to use, and it's way better to use anyways.
- The only people who ACTUALLY use it (and arent people who dont have enough perks unlocked) are people using Mad Grit
plenty of us experienced killers do. QoL, for one. To mitigate Boil Over, sabo squads and to insure getting to a scourge hook when running that build.
@miniwengsel said:
I dont know why Someone can be upset with Iron grasp at all. The only time IG is used is:
- Killer is new and have only bad perks. (even than there are mutch better choises than IG)
- Killer play a meme build with Mad Grit etc.
- Baisment Bubba/Trapper
The only situation than happens like ones per week is basment bubba. Meme builds with IG etc are so so rare I havend even seen one in two years. What I can tell from my experience is, that Iron Grasp is a bad perk overall. It does something, but it doesnt do it well.
Also with boil over you counter nothing. If you bring boil over and abuse it, so the Killer cant hook you, you are just a dick.
Actually I use IG as I mentioned above.

Unless you're a console killer, in which case the new wiggle throws you around worse and sometimes you lose the ability to move forward for a second or two, and with Boil Over you often can't move forward at all, you're just stuck in place like the controls completely stopped responding.
So that’s a console thing? Explains things.
Anyhoo, IMO IG is better than Agitation. For me at least. I like to chill when I play killer and so IG not only guarantees me hooks but bye bye Boil Over effects, sabo squads, etc.
I love it, and I’m not just saying that to be contrarian.
-
“ I've tried to find a way to make everyone happy” stop right there. This is a terrible mindset to have, even IRL.
This is how I play as killer:
Step 1: choose QoL perks (maybe 1 gen regress) that make my experience enjoyable, knowing I’ll win/lose anyway depending on the survivors
Step 2: don’t look at the offerings screen so as not to get anxiety from seeing a map offering
Step 3: don’t expect to win
Step 4: stick to my playstyle (which is: have fun trying to hook whoever I find, proxy camp if needed, maybe slug for the 4K if already have a 2k, but never camp or tunnel unless it can’t be helped)
Step 5: try not to get triggered by teabagging or other obnoxious survivor stuff
Step 5B: if survivors are a toxic squad from the start then dish it right back (tunnel, slug, etc)
Step 6: after match, take a couple minute break to enjoy the win, or if a loss to let the emotions subside.
Step 7: repeat
My job is not to make sure anyone is having fun but me, with the exception of immediately tunneling someone out of the game which I know from playing survivor isn’t fun, so that’s the only “survivor fun” thing I abide to. But that’s not so much letting them have their fun but more of a sportsmanship thing.
-
my Hag is about P8 or P9. She’s great. Is her play style boring on both sides? Yeah. But I love the mayhem she creates with her phantasms.
BVHR really needs to revisit her and make her so that she doesn’t have to rely on 3 gen camping play style. How you accomplish that I dunno .
But once a month or so I like to play her just because I love her power and skins and Mori. Just a shame she is in a bad place.
-
The killer design is trash. It doesn’t say “this is a Dead By Daylight killer”. It’s a person with a lame mask, Pig’s claw and Freddy’s Mori.
I’m a passionate fan of the game. But this killer along with Trickster and Knight are just bad ideas.
Where’s Medusa turning survivors to stone? Where’s the Werewolf already!? Where’s Cthulhu? The Blob? And so many more ideas that invoke horror.
This chapter is just bad on so many levels.
-
I’m a console killer that gets wins without camping or tunneling so you’re “they’re the worst” statement is a bit generalizing.
The reason console killers may, and I don’t know for sure, camp and tunnel more than Pc killers is probably due to lack of precision using controller vs keyboard & mouse. That’s why I avoid huntress and any killer that depends on aiming.
-
Git gud baby killer. ;)
I don’t tunnel. I don’t camp. I may run SH:PR but that’s about it. I lose, and I win more than I lose.
What makes killer enjoyable for me is this: I don’t go into the game NEEDING to win and with the expectation that I might lose.
-
@LuthirFontaine said:
Can you killers quit sweating so hard after dcers haha it's like man we had two dcers and this guy is camping me. What is wrong with you?
lol for real tho
I play both sides. As a survivor I had a game where 3 ppl DC’d, I forget the killer now. There were still like 3-4 gens to do. What does killer do? Still sweats to kill me. I think closed the hatch or chased me, whatever. Like bro , what’s the point just let me go! I wasn’t even part of the other 3 who I think were memers.
These matches sometimes. Ugh.
-
Less is more. Always.
This isn’t an RTS.
With Knight, bird lady and now this new dog shite killer, it’s no longer about simplicity as a killer. It’s now stop playing action paced killer to become a part time dungeon master and minecraft map creator with drawing shapes and paths and placing drones.
Gimme Bubba , twins, dredge etc any day of the week. Im right in the action. No slowing down to pause to play some stupid mini game with drones and birds and ghosts.
F outta here with this direction they are headed.
Less is more. Killer go zoom zoom stab. That’s all we need. That’s all it ever needs to be.
-
Give me a werewolf! Simple execution: like the Oni, the person (in ragged clothes) gains power and turns into a wolf. In wolf mode they are quicker and have maybe a dash or pounce or who knows what.
There’s spider: shoots webs so like Huntress or Slinger, but webs maybe slow survivors down? Poison? I mean there’s lots to work with. Cocoons downed survivors like pyramid head can place in a cage.
Anyway my point is there are still plenty of horror creatures & monsters to do , and I think still more room for unique powers. They just have to think outside the box.
Im sick of humanoids. Dredge is like the only non humanoid. I want monsters!!!
-
This is “supposed” to be a multiplayer HORROR game that scratches that itch that no other game can scratch.
So most of us ppl who love horror movies/books/comics/manga and other video games want KILLERS to be horror themed killers.
Instead we get some woman with Pig’s claws and Freddy’s Mori animation and it’s just … really?
I want creepy scary horror aesthetic and art. That’s what is so great about the horror genre. It’s monsters. It’s gore. It’s creepy. Weird. Etc etc
This new killer is one I’ll never play but does not invoke horror at all. Either does the knight or knives throwing guy or wesker. But that’s me I guess.

100-110 seconds? How long do Gens need to take for some of you to accept that it might be a skill issue on your side? Almost 2 minutes is way too long.
If anything, the initial Gen needs to be faster with some form of second Objective, which encourages more running around aka more chance for the Killer to get into a chase to build up pressure.
But it’s not always a skill issue.
If Killer isn’t running Lethal Pursuer or Corrupt, it’s “ok pick a random direction opposite me and hope we get lucky finding a survivor”
So that’s what.. 20-30 seconds? Then you find survivor, and guess what? You found the greatest looper in the game. Or they have sprint burst.
So already 1- 2 minutes into the game, and 1-2 gens are close to being done somewhere else because you picked the wrong survivor to chase or wrong part of the map to go to initially.
Now, yes, even with 1-2 gens popping early that doesn’t mean game over. So yes, skill comes into play. But still, that (searching wrong area, finding good looper early) is one of the problems with the game. Then you have map unbalance, which killer you picked, etc.
I do agree with 2nd objective idea that’s been thrown around for years yet here we are.

absolutely right.
my last match i had 2 down and a 3gen situation. eventually i got my third kill (which took time) but after chat they wished me death IRL because i "camped" 3 gens. what should i do as killer? "oh yes good sir go to the gen and repair it while i water the flowers" ...
Or 1 person DC’s early / RQ whatever. Great!
Now as a survivor I’ve been in a very FEW matches where 1-2 ppl still escape in an early 1v3 but it’s rare against a good killer.
And as a killer myself when someone DC’s early it’s like you said… either continue playing normal knowing you’re going to kill them easily , or you end up farming or letting them do gens if you are in a good mood lol
-
This is why this game needs a “Concede” option so we can accept defeat, leave the match , and you win.
What the F is the point of 2 survivors sticking around with 3 gens to still do?? Absolutely none!
It ALWAYS ends up the same - 2 survivors killed early because they are new or flashlight memers. Then we last 2 survivors get f*cked. I’m supposed to what… continue trying to be competitive? Finish gens? Yeah right.
The game is POINTLESS when 2 survivors left and 2-5 gens still left to complete.
But BEhaviour doesn’t care .
-
This is supposed to be a HORROR game. As a fan of all things Friday 13th, Alien, Elm Street, Junji Ito, Chainsaw Massacre, Chainsaw Man, Saw, you freakin name it, this chapter and the Knight , Wesker (just some speedy white dude) and knives throwing guy are all a joke. IMO. Bland. Vapid.
If I want to play the role of normalish looking characters there are plenty of other games.
I want, we want, as killers, to play as cool scary things with creepy horror themed aesthetics that you’ll never see in another video game.
i don’t know what’s going on, if the horror element just doesn’t sell anymore or what.
But this latest chapter is a huge L . Not getting my money.
-
These posts are getting old & tired.
I never run eruption. I don’t kick gens. Don’t tunnel. Yet as a bubba/Dredge/twins/hag/plague player i still get my 2-4K’s.
How? Because I learn to predict survivor movements. Because I don’t chase for too long. Because when I see flashlights in the lobby I equip Franklin’s or Lightborn. Blah blah blah
Do i still lose? Yes. But not with just 1 or 2 hooks. I get at least 5-6 hooks in my losses.
(Im having more fun playing killer now than back around 2019 or so before the ruin nerf.)
