If we're talking about equality here, there should be a function for 1/4th of the killer to give up for each survivor who does. Two survivors killed themselves on hook? Half the killer has given up.
-
Between the constant crashing, increased bm players, and wonky map boosts lately I don't even want to play anymore. There's no way all the reports they're closing are due to technical issues when everything had been running fine until they updated something.
I think I'm gonna make another post to document the tomfoolery I experienced via 'tech support' trying to figure out what's going on so people don't waste their time like I have.

Aim dressing is supposed to be for visual purposes, but it steals hits from the killer, because it does stuff to the killer, BEFORE it checks for hit validation.
Woooooof. Everything makes sense now.

and sadly this is exactly what i was talking about, toxic behavior by survivors washes and reflects back onto the killers, which causes some killers to act in a similar way, i personally don't, even when survivors choose to do toxic things, but that's not the same for others, and unfortunately you as well.
Big "chicken or egg" situation. One side didn't "start" it, there's just lame losers on both sides who enjoy ragebaiting. If that's how they have fun, then so be it, but all we can do is move on (or report if it's holding the game hostage for the sake of bm or something like that).
-
Yikes, I thought the aim snapping around corners was supposed to be mainly for visual purposes.
-
I've been constantly getting RPD or Dead Dawg unless there's a map offering. It sucks. I need some variety.
-
Felt like Dead Dawg was getting boosted a day or two ago, and now it feels the same with RPD. At least 75% of my games. I severely dislike RPD. ;-;
-
Jeeeeez that's wild. If they ever bring this back they should implement some sort of "if ___ then ___" for the perks so you can't be stuck with stuff that cancels each other out.
-
It wouldn't ever happen, nor should it. People bring luck offerings and try to kobe sometimes and there's not a great way to differentiate people trying to leave without a DC from people who are trying to genuinely yeet themselves off.
I do think that something like the 'salt mines' from Friday the 13th would be helpful for disconnects though.
-
Could be softcap too. I feel like that's what my issue has been lately. I've got like 550 hours spanned from 2016 to now and I am as average as it gets on killer and survivor, but that's the biggest chunk of the mmr, and there's a wide variety of player skill levels in that.
-
Weird, I also got 4 rpds in a row. Yesterday I was getting dead dawg every game (other than map offerings). Maybe there's a secret "map of the day" and it's just all maps that make me in particular angry /j

Yea, it's not crashes for me but the lag is nuts. I know it's dbd cause my other games are fine. I'm forcing myself to play with this internet and I can't even get a kill or if I'm playing survivor j can't even run, when I do run I get rubberbanded back where I ran from. It's annoying.
That happened to me right after the engine update, but it seems like that's been resolved in exchange for the crashing. I'm consistently getting about 3-5 crashes in a 4 hour gaming session.

That's super frustrating, I'm sorry even an email didn't work. I guess that means I won't try it either.
I did also try underclocking my GPU, switching the steam launch to -d3d10, and adding a TdrDdiDelay as well as a TdrDelay to the registry editor.
At this point I have to assume it's on their end somehow. And I also have to assume they're getting tons of crash reports about it, like they can't be unaware at this point (at the very least, I'm sending several a day because I want to do the limited time things). I remember fairly recently, I had a similar issue with Fortnite of all things. The game would just randomly crash after playing it for a while, and then eventually an update happened that fixed it. Don't know if it was an update from Fortnite itself or my graphics card, but it's something…
At the very least, I just wish we had some kind of acknowledgement on this. It seems like the only response I've seen has been them rejecting bug reports about it saying it's a technical issue. I just want some confirmation that they're aware and are working on it, you know?
But at least the fact that the past bug fix patch and the PTB notes talked about fixing other crashes. Perhaps this one will be fixed soon.
Yeah all we can really hope for is that they're overwhelmed with crash reports.

Wooooo another one, 4th time in the last 3ish hours

I think I commented on your bug report thread too, but I wanted to give some attention to this one as well, as I feel this is a very large issue affecting many people. I wanted to include my own information to potentially aid in solving this issue.
My specs are:
OS: Windows 11
Platform: Steam
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics
RAM: 16 GB
Cores: 6
Processor Speed: 3.89 GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600
VRAM: 8176 MBI have tried just about everything I can find, including but not limited to:
-Clean reinstall of my graphics driver/software
-Uninstall/Reinstall DBD
-Verify integrity of files
-Turn off anti-aliasing
-Switch EAC to Performance mode from Windows graphics settings
-Repair EAC from the EasyAntiCheat_Setup application
-Run DirectX installer
-Updated Windows
-Modified the graphics driver registry key as seen here
-Changed the Steam Launch option to -dx11, which I have not been able to test
thoroughly as it tanks my fps to about 40 at times and makes the game
unplayableThe crash report I'm getting is pretty much the same as the one mentioned above, though lately it's stopped after DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED.
I'm really hoping a solution comes up that isn't just upgrading to a new GPU, as I cannot afford that right now.
Yeah I gave up on my large email chain with bhvr trying to figure it out cause they just kept telling me to do the same stuff that I already did to troubleshoot.
I've got
OS: Windows 10
Platform: Steam
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790k
RAM: 16 GB
Cores: 4
Processor Speed: 4 GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT
VRAM: 12288 MB -
Idk, I've had maybe one or two games where people played like 'normal' and they were great, but the rest just seems like tournament players. Regular mode has been more fun lately. Maybe the sweatlords are trying to grind for bloodpoints so they can get more perks or items or something? Who knows.

You are really not forced to play that mode. You can play normal mode and people that like chaos shuffle would play it.
Chaos shuffle create chill playground for those who are not here for challenge, buf for fun.
There is a lot of players that don't want to go back to regular game mode, shuffle was so fun to play and also refreshing.
I wish it was the fun mode, but it seems to be the "I'm going to play like a sweatlord prepping for a tournament" mode. I haven't had a single killer who didn't tunnel or strategically facecamp so we didn't get an auto-yeet, and survivors are either hiding in bushes or lockers all game or bringing brand new parts. Sucks cause the premise is really cool and the couple games where people felt like they played 'normally' were really fun.
-
I had 3 games from the crash that made me post this initially and the crash from the screenshot.

this is basically the exact same message I'm getting when I crash. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, verified files, checked internet, played on different devices, etc. I never really disconnect, the whole game just crashes. I just crashed when trying to load back into my lobby where I practice Nurse and Spirit against bots :)
-
I'm also noticing it happens a lot when I try to go look at tomes/the rift too. There have been a couple instances where I've crashed loading into a game but that's happened maybe 2 or 3 times since the update so I'm less worried about that.
-
So far I'm seeing the stuff I'm very aware of and works fine for me (until there's no more pallets in the map after like 2 minutes) except the windows. I've gotta be doing something wrong with the windows, cause I know they're supposed to be pretty safe against Bubba, but I guess I have awful luck or timing or both cause I always get chainsawed through the window no matter what I do.
I normally lay around rank 4-6 survivor and it's always the red rank Bubbas who can smell my fear

If it would mean that the tbagging trolls, whose sole intent is only to cause misery to other players and especially de-moralize the Killer players would leave? Then yes.
If you're getting triggered by tbagging or getting 'de-moralized' from players in a game, then maybe you could be the problem. People can be nasty in endgame chat, but not enough to warrant punishment on people who might just swf to be able to run dumb perks and see if they can still win.

Ehh, no. As a Killer, it'd be pissed if a Survivor had a gun that could stun me over range in an instant. Like an insta-flashlight I can't avoid.
That's a free rescue from a carry, that 4 survivors can bring into a match, each. No way. Never.
I'm not saying insta stun, that'd be bonkers. There would have to be some wind up time, like a slow aim mechanic, needing to load the gun, etc. Plus needing accuracy like @stikyard said. It's not a whole idea, just something that crosses my mind occasionally. I also really like the noise notification thing too. It could also be cool if it sorta stunned you too, like recovering from recoil or something. More high risk that way.
-
I always say how I wish there could be an ultra rare gun item that's single use (one bullet) that's an aim-to-stun deal. Now that flashbangs exist, it's easier to explain cause they'd basically have the same function. Just an idea that could be neat. Item description could sorta explain away the empty holsters (entity is a toolbag and it takes people's guns and has a sort of gun lost and found box that ends up in bloodwebs or chests)
-
I gotta say, reading through all four pages of this probably dissolved the majority of my braincells.
Out of curiosity, is there like an average age of the people playing dbd anywhere? Or at least the average age of people on forums? I read a lot of these replies with an angry 10 year old in mind.

They keep talking about making the game a nice place for newcomers, especially people coming to check out the RE stuff, but I think honestly what's gonna turn most people off the game is the grind. I've had the game since 2016 (granted, I took a year and some change off from playing it) and I STILL don't have even a THIRD of the junk there is to unlock on everyone. I'm too far gone to let my efforts go to waste, so grind I must, but no way in hell is any newbie gonna see all the bloodpoint cranking out that's required to even have a decent chance in the game and be like "Ah yes, a delightful way to spend my time". Just no. Just 86 the tiers and maybe do something where you can 'sell' your bloodweb purchases back for a fraction of the price (would help me feel decluttered if I got rid of the offerings & stuff I know I'll never use, too).
-
I used to want to be able to get rid of items/add-ons/offerings and stuff that I'd never use for a small fraction of the bloodpoints I spent for them just for decluttering reasons, but thinking about it, I really would like that to help with the grind as well. I only have like one friend to play this game with and I'm torn between trying to get others I know to get it and suffer the grind or playing alone, and as a survivor, that's straight up masochism.
-
There's a very big divide between people who want to play for points and people who want to play for efficiency. I'm sure if I had all killers and survivors p3, all perks, lots of bloodpoints stocked up for future releases, etc, I'd probably play killer more efficiently and try more meme plays as survivor, but alas, I have like 500 hours in the game so I don't have everything.

I have some sort of tremendously bad luck of being caught and chased by the killer within the first ten to twenty seconds of my match. No joke. This happens probably at least 6 or 7 times out of every 10 games. Doesn't matter if I sneak. Doesn't matter if I run. Doesn't matter if I lock onto the first generator I see. Doesn't matter if I try to get to the opposite end of the map. Doesn't matter if I walk along the walls. Doesn't matter if I try to take a meandering path down the middle. Doesn't matter what I do. I cannot tell you how many times I am honed in on by the killer almost immediately after the match starts, as if we were spawned with him (or her) standing on a hill a few hundred feet behind me. I mean hell, last time I played Midwich the killer was literally in the next room over and caught me as soon as I walked out.
It's become so inexplicably common that I literally wonder if my game is bugged, there's some secret game mechanic in place to punish me for something I may or may not have done, or if I there's just ONE good strategy to stop this from happening and I haven't discovered it yet. I cannot emphasize enough how incredibly frustrating it is. Pretty much every other match my heart sinks as I try to just move around and START to accomplish something only for the chase music to come rapidly running in. I sigh. "Again, really"?
So yeah, it's gotten to the point where I'd love to just hit a button that says "you win, take an arbitrary amount of victory points, let me just move on to a different match" whenever this happens. Which is virtually all the time.
I suffer from this too. It sucks. My group of friends I play with are absolutely baffled by it and basically the only things that helps is spawning all survivors together or just becoming very very good at looping and trying to get to a decent tile asap.
-
I had also had this thought before, mostly to just declutter my inventory. There's just some map offerings I'm never ever going to use in my life, so why make me keep it? I'd even be okay if we just got like 50 bp for a purple offering at this point.
-
Yeah I'm like rank 8 surv & my friend and I have been getting exclusively red rank killers and brown rank teammates. We get all the bloodpoints cause we do all the work, but I'd like to escape a few games, yaknow?
-
I just had a game against a rank 2 meyers (as a rank 8 surv) with other survs at brown ranks, so obvi we didn't get anything done in time to escape against a tombstone/unlimited tier 3 EW combo. Rough time. No chases till t3 popped & we only had 3 gens done, all by me.
-
Diversion is soooo fun for me, it feels almost useless for any purpose but giggles. The few seconds of confusion from a killer bring me life.

No its the same across all killers. However, Freddys is known for having a model that doesnt correlate with his m1 too well (attacks that hit and should hit, but look like they shouldn't) because he has a smaller model, I think its the same fundamental problem here. Not a bug btw, just funky model. Since I answered kind of late I'm interested if you did testing already and if it helped?
I think that might have something to do with it, we did a little bit of testing and we've sort of come to the conclusion that we need to wait a bit longer to stun just as a safety cushion, cause when he looks like he's ready, he isn't. It's more consistent when he's been facing us with the pallet in front of him & between us, but we still have issues when the pallet is behind him.
-
I like his stuff, he's not so out there trying to be entertaining (others I guess call him dry/unfunny) but personally it's refreshing to watch and get some good learning in. It's just like sitting there with your bud who's not making a big spectacle of showing you the ins an outs of the game.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Yeah you probably just drop it too early. However, veeery rarely when I totally had to be stunned and drop the survivor nothing happens, I think these times its a latency issue. Maybe test this issue in KYF?
Do I need to drop it later for Freddy than other killers? I haven't had a problem getting it done for anybody else, but I think kyf testing is a good idea.
-
I feel like people may have taken my title a little too literally... I just wanted to know the little things like snoot booping and stuff that has become 'a thing' in the game (or little things you've personally come up with in groups you may play with), not that they're the a b s o l u t e law. I had no idea that other people had used the arm flapping to warn for camping, so that was news to me.
-
Welp everything I know is a lie
-
Yeahh, today especially has been really bad rainbow ranks for me. Could be people wanting event stuff before it's too late.
-
I don't read too much of the lore, so I'm not sure if there's been 'cisness/straightness confirmed' for any character...
If there has been, then it's literally the same thing to have mention of being lgbt for a new character. Let's say Claudette's lore mentioned her being on a walk with her bf or something when entity yoinked her or something. No one would bat an eye, right? Literally doesn't matter if she was on a walk with her gf instead. No one cares. You can just go "oh cool representation" and then go back to playing the game. As long as there's no "Ha HGAAAAA It's GAY TIME, HOES!" at every turn or token-lgbtness to be seen anywhere, I cannot fathom a sane reason for somebody to be upset.
If they havent ever specified anything for a character before, then yeah it's kinda distasteful to suddenly be like "and THIS one is gay", and I could see the absolute most minor annoyance to be 'fine'.
At the end of the day, it's a video game. Let the lgbt people who are stoked for this possibility to be stoked, and if you don't care, then it doesn't matter to you. People can really only get mad post-release if it's done distastefully.
-
For survivor 100% dead dawg. I hate it hate it hate it hate it hate it. I'd rather get tunneled on a fun map than ever play that again. Hate it. It's too open and there's so much dead space, especially around the edges, and it's so bright, and aoejhfaojgiraeg. Hate it. The Game is also pretty gross.
For killer I'm not a fan of the big boi coldwind map. I suffer from corn blindness.
-
It literally isn't that deep. I'm not super invested in lore, so idk if they've specified the straightness of any character specifically, but if (like someone else said) there's a brief mention of 'bob's boyfriend', it's the same as confirming straightness and it really doesn't matter. Cool, inclusion. Yeah, sexuality doesn't really matter in the game, but if talking about a hetero relationship/cis state of being, no matter how brief, for any character gets no side eyes, it's only fair that anything else is treated thge same. Keep playing as normal. Like sure, I would get some people's irritation if they made the new survivor's powers obnoxiously centered around lgbt+ stuff, but I highly doubt that'll happen and some of y'all are making a deal out of literally nothing.

For me it feels like most of the camping happens from yellow-brown ranks, and tunneling happens purple-green. Currently bouncing between rank 7 and 8 and I have never been tunneled more in my life. The one time I got to rank 2, there was less of those but so so many DCs. Like get hit with one hatchet? DC. Accidentally slow vault a window? DC. Ridiculous.

I don’t play killer much, but I do survivor main. Those lunges that pig has can be deadly, but only if the pig is mind gaming you. You have to trick the pig into thinking that you will be in lunge range but then not be. A good pig player will figure your game out fairly quickly and stop lunging at you in chase and just try to m1 you instead.
For me, Freddy and legion are my grief killers, although I feel like I’m starting to understand legion a little better as I’ve focused on keeping major distance as much as possible. With Freddy, I can’t ever seem to be far enough through a window or over a pallet to escape his claws.
That's usually what I try to do with her, and I guess it's up to practice.
I have that exact problem with Freddy; it feels like his claws span miles.
When I play killer, Legion is usually one of the ones I lean towards, so I find them a bit less of an annoyance. I find that survivors staying split up as much as possible and doing your best to manage time & not waste much time doing anything but gens (no totems, healing, etc and getting the most out of someone being hooked & such) really helps. If you're in swf or have applicable perks, making sure you have as many people on gens possible is bueno.
