It wouldn't silence chainsaws, since it's a power, not a killers natural noise. People have been trying to use Insideous for goofy ways like gen camping mindgames and basement camping etc, but these are all useless strategies and are just to muck around. It would just bring a new level of chase play to be able to feel confident thaytactivating Insideous mid-loop of a jungle gym, for example, would get you a crazy free hit. Atm it would only work on a few killers who make minimal animation noise
-
Please explain, because if i'm misunderstanding, then you're the only one to rectify that ๐
-
Thank you, that spells it out clearer ๐
I have always tried saying disconnects should grant sacrifice points as well as brutality. (And be reflected in emblem)
And yeah, Gen breaks should grant Gatekeeper points. There are so many failures with the current Killer emblem scoring right now that it just needs changing asap
-
Are you guys serious? ๐
Survivors have a very easy time ranking up. You get Lightbringer from totems, Gates and Gens; Guarenteed at least silver in Unbroken if you survive at least 4 mins in a match; at least Silver in Benevelont if anyone on the team gets more than two safe unhooks and heal - gold or iridescent if you do those things too; at least silver Evader if you get chased at least twice amd get one pallet stun.
Whereas Killer needs to make sure all 5 gens don't get activated before 6 mins has elapsed in order to get anything higher than bronze; if all escape then you either get nothing or bronze (sometimes barely silver if you manage to two hook everyone) in Devout; Gold or iridescent Malevolent & Chaser by hitting, downing and getting people off gens, rescues and heals...but don't get it confused - Chaser/Malevolent and Gatekeeper don't go hand in hand. You can get Iridescent in both Chaser and Melevolent and still get nothing/bronze Gatekeeper. Now look at that and tell me Survivor have it equally or even remotely comparibley hard ranking up
-
Nothing of what I said is me saying every game will be the way it's strategised to be. But if you go into a game knowing how to use his power, and knowing what chase is worth going for etc etc then even a tough match will be fun. I'm pointing out that there is a limit to how true your point of what needs adjusting about Legion is. Honestly, just use perks that boost arena control (Corrupt Intervention, Whispers) and intel and chase reduction (BBQ, STBFL). And add-ons that boost those things are great two (Cold Dirt - Susie's Mixtape).
They'll be changing the way pin add-ons work and most likely Frank's Mixtape too. I think that is enough to make Legion all round fun and effective with any build you wanna do with him around the add-ons you may want to select
-
I play Legion a lot, he's the easiest to get bp with since you max out Brutality, Hunting, Deviousness before the half way point of the match ๐
My point was this: using Legion's power is more than just applying Deep Wound to as many people as possible. If you Deep Wound the first person and you notice that the pulses of the other survivors are close, then chase and tag them too; if they are far away, keep on your original target to the down, but now you know where the others are. That's how you apply pressure and get snowballing with Legion. You gain intel on location and also make people vulnerable with injuries that take time to heal (mending first). He is very effiecient at having multiple pressure at once, simply knowing where a survivor is will give you insane power over them. Because you can approach from an angle least expected and get easy tags/downs.
His power is fine as it is, just gotta have strategy and perks and add-ons that boost his strengths, not bolster up his weakness.
-
That's how I play, I use builds and play for fun. But it's sad that you have to ignore rank to have fun. You should be rewarded for playing a killer properly and strongly.
That's why I raised the question. Survivors had a bullshitingly hard time ranking once, that lasted like 1, maybe 2, weeks lol this killer emblem has been broken for months now. It needs a freshening up
-
Honestly, all that needs to change with Legion is his add-ons. Franks Mixtape needs to be something completely different now (since it can only be fully useful with Dark Devotion). And the pin add-ons have already been mentioned by devs as being changed soon -
- I think Legion is fine as far as his power goes. I play him fairly regularly, and have figured out proper builds and gameplay strategy to bring out the strengths they have. Legion excels by forcing survivors to group up in a tight-nit area. Corrupt Intervention is probably the perk that's a must for him. All you need to do is utilize the intel his power gives you. If you see on killer instinct multiple people in an area that you would benefit from defending, go to them, if the pulses are split and not in critical areas, ignore them and focus on the down in front of you. Like I said, only thing that needs touching is his add-ons. And only some of them for that matter. I'd say just use a variety of builds on him that boost his strengths, not strengthen his weaknesses and you'll have more fun and better matches at red ranks
-
Thanks ๐ if they did this I would actually wet my self with suprise haha
-
Yeah I had this a few hours ago, a Feng was looping the shack, she got the window sealed and as I chased her (presumabley towards the pallet to force it down) she vaults the window for the fourth, fifth then sixth time without being blocked by the clear entity spikes in the window. I had video footage but deleted it because i'm a silly silly man haha
-
Yeah locker placement definitely needs an improvement, be funny to see one just plopped somewhere not backed up against anything, be like a door out of Monster Inc. ๐ (not serious of course)
-
You're giving me tips like i'm complaining about my struggles with her. Majority of games I play with her are the most fun I have as killer. She is my favourite for a reason ๐ I'm saying how it would help her character. A lot of killers are being altered and buffed, The Huntress could use one in my eyes. Whether you disagree or agree, it's an open discussion. I'm not looking for advice on how to get better ๐ otherwise the title would be that. The idea is for a possible buff they could do to her, it seems you guys disagree, but are you even considering how exactly they could buff the Huntress?? IF they do, what would you wanna see from a Huntress buff? I clearly would like a speed buff ๐ the person above wants consistent hit boxes, which is more of a patch, if it's a recurring issue people experience?
-
You're making good points, but also backing me up at the same time with certain things you say: there are very harsh parts of the map that are brutal for the Huntress to get lead towards, even a seasoned Huntress can't out play someone who is desperate to hit a loop that is punishing. It's a lost cause in that chase, and oh what do you know, you wasted 20-30 seconds on them only to realise you haven't got the speed to get back to an area where survivors may be (even a close by area) and probably have few hatchets left. Every good killer has a set plan of how they want the gen shape to look like, but harsh loops and lack of speed punish her pressure on organised and intelligent survivors. Do you see my point?
And i'm yet to meet a survivor who thinks 30 seconds of blindness and 60 seconds of hemmorage hurt them in any way against Huntress. Exhaustion and Instadown are fierce, yeah, but chances are they'll have used their exhaustion perk prior to being hit with a hatchet (if it's sprint burst or they have recently been injured body blocking or something like that). Survivors on outskirts of the map (the Huntress' danger zone) usually pop those gens first against her since they know her speed at map coverage is lacking. And a solo gen takes 1 minute 20 seconds to complete without a great boost. Again leading me to feel the need for the buff. I have a feeling we'll not agree on this ๐ but man, if they did buff her, could you imagine how she would play like? Scary would be the word. Like the Hag is, like Nurse and Clown are etc -
You haven't got to tell me how great the Huntress is at master level. My idea is to give her a step towards top tier. With the buff to other killers recently and the planned ones to come, a little buff to the huntress to make her a tad more pressuring is not gonna make her op. The hag got a buff that made her terrifying with her pressure, and yet she isn't op, she's as strong as she should have been from the start. My only criticism of the Huntress is her speed, as killer you have moments that prove the argument and disprove an argument; for me, I feel there is more proof to say she could use a buff, more than a killer like the Wraith (whom I hear may be buffed again). But I do like the input and advice of someone who values the Huntress in the game. Like I said, I love this killerย
-
It was more a comparison than a fact. ๐ I am good with the huntress, which is why I say what I say. Playing as her is a painful experience in the game at this point in time. With a game that is punishing on killers for timing, having a killer who is slower on movement and can't always land those hatchets because of large obstacles, buildings, long loops. It is a cause for change in my eyes. You shouldn't have to resort to leaving a chase because you can't close the gap fast enough between pallets (regardless of distance weaponary, sometimes the hit isn't possible due to the angles of walls etc. Like I said, other killers have far more conveniant abilities yet are not hindered by slower movement. With all the killer buffs that have and will happen, this would be a welcome one
-
Leave it out with that, mate
-
A cool idea, but immediately I have questions haha would you take the form of that survivor and mimic the injured state? Or just look like them? Because intelligent people would be able to piece together that the uninjured survivor running right towards them is a little suspicious ๐
-
I mean, that could be a cool idea. The power flickers for that period and turns on properly when repairable again. But all the brand new ideas for new mechanics would change the game drastically. When really all the game needs is tweaks. Like the shrine idea before, too similar to Soul At Stake. Adding new stuff will alter the experience dbd gives us too muchI think they should just make it so that when a gen is completed, all other gens stop progressing for 25 seconds.
-
Assigning roles and objectives would make it feel like a giant mini game you'd get on an early 2000's PS2 game, rather than an online asymetrical horror. If gens bore people then they can bring a toolbox in. And back to the whole personal objectives thing, that's what the rituals are for: tasked with rescuing 3 people off a hook, repair equivalent of 3 gens etc
-
Ok, so I did a quick experiment on kyf just now, I tested how long it takes to do a gen hitting every good skillcheck (no great or missed). Uninterrupted, a gen being solo repaired takes 1 minute 20 seconds to complete (without a toolbox). That is way too fast to complete a generator, no one can deny that. This needs to be nerfed, no question
-
Yeah, I use Bitter Murmur and see that a lot too. Most of the time, it isn't that survivors are coordinated, it's the spawns. Almost every survivor game I play I spawn next to the other 3 survivors (without the use of a Very Rare shroud offering). It is very bizzare that the spawns have started to put the team all in one place from the get-go. I end up circling the map twice, searching the known hidey holes, only to find that the gen on the other side pops with 3 auras running away from it
-
I think that basic repairs should be drastically slower than they are now. But with a toolbox, it makes sense that a survivor is more efficient at repairs with a toolbox and the speed is faster than the average itemless survivor
-
Good point ๐ but still, you win an arguments by speaking sense and logic. So I have to say that stuff to comments like thatZombieGenesis said:Why would survivors ever allow nerfs to anything gen related?
-
Repairing generators grants lightbringer emblems, gives objective points and is required so you can leave. How is that unrewarding? Generators becoming slower would allow more points for commiting, make the game longer and make you feel like you earned an escape, if you do. Atm people can gen rush and escape within 2 minutes. Is that not an issue in the game?
-
Adding stuff like shrines would just make dbd too similar to other new asymetrical horror titles that are out. Soul At Stake for example
-
From my angle, a decreased repair speed will slow the game down enough to make it so killers can have the pressure they desperately need in the game
-
That's actually a pretty cool idea, so how many gens would survivors need to repair on a bigger map?ย
There needs to be more objectives not longer generators, nobody wants to sit in one spot forever. Iโd like to see slightly bigger maps with more objectives to escape so the whole aura direction the devs have would fit perfectly. For example BBQ would be way more effective with a larger map and if the survivors didnโt have an offering and spawned separate, you could have a chance to take them out without massive interference from the whole squad, and even with SWF because the map size would prevent them from immediately meeting up and offer more options to hide instead of looping and trying certain jukes on a killer that may or may not work. Also hex totems would immediately be more effectiveย
But with a bigger map I could see it playing like Identity V does (which is something I doubt a game developer wants to see, a game too similar to another). Yeah I can see that causing decision making in the game to be even more crucial. Game intelligence would be pretty much the only skill someone needed to survive. Know how to hide, evade the chase, repair gens and rescue teammates. Atm good decision making only really matters if the killer is good enough to punish selfish or overly altruistic survivors -
Long enough? I honestly think it is pretty quick, one person can complete a gen solo (or get it to 90%) upon spawn, at the moment, if that gen is the last gen a basic killer patrols to on a large map. Is that not an issue with timings? Consider that the lore of the game makes it out so that the trials are very harrowing and trying on the survivors - every decision matters: rescues, gen repairs, distractions etc do you not think the gameplay should reflect that? I personally love a long drawn out round as both killer and survivor. Atm all that gets me that experience is having a great killer round or having really bad allies on my team as survivor. I see that as something in need of change. Maybe not as drastic as 45 seconds, but it is just something to float out there to hear loads of peoples responses and thoughts on
-
I personally don't like ds and don't use it, so this idea is to make it so that people who do use it, can't abuse it. It is hard to think of what would balance that sort of perk power, but then other stuff like gen speed comes into discussion (so we'll leave that out of it for a different discussion - keep this soley about DS)
It's hard to balance a free escape perk in a game thats already tight on time management. Decisive IMO if its a free escape, only the obsession gets the free escape, while everyone else has the stun in place. Makes it powerful as an obsession perk should be
-
No, that's not what I mean. My idea is this: the survivor who is using DS can only use it when they are getting carried to their death hook. So if they have been hooked twice prior or went into struggle on their first one. The next time they are downed and picked up, it gives them the DS at the start of the wriggle as a final despereate attempt not to be sacrificed. It ย prevents DS from being used as toxic as it is now. It also allows someone who was tunneled to hell to get another chance
-
PS4. Playing as all killers. It happens on all maps, usually when I hit someone while carrying and also if they attempt to 180 or 360 dodge my hit. Frames drop and they are able to run a few steps ahead of me if I miss the hit. But frames drop even if I hit them when they attempt that juke
